I think she wants Obama to publicly reject her before the convention and have her name placed in nomination at the convention.
I think she wants Obama to publicly reject her before the convention and have her name placed in nomination at the convention.
What a great thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yuck, Alvy. How inappropriate.
Maybe he'll go away.
I think Obama is too smart to play the kubaki game with Hillary. After all, her word is not worth much. If he offered the slot to her in public (even with an understanding that she'd say no), she'd take it! Anyway, she was not VP in her husband's administration, algore was. Maybe she replaced him temporarily when he was out hugging trees though! My intuition is that she wants it very badly (the VP slot that is)! Unlike her husband she is addicted to power. That is why she ran such a strange campaign.
H.C. is trying to bargin w/ her supporters to be VP? i dont get !! she should have congradulated him last night.... disappointing
Hey Hills would be a good little VP.
She's the kind of player you put in the game in the fourth quarter to foul Shaq.
LOL !! Hey Alvy,
i dont know she has alot of baggage... i heard on talk Radio she might want VP or Gov of New York... they said that her senate seat is in trouble... i dont know if that is a rumor though.
i suspect Obama might try to get a Repblican for VP?
I think he should get a Bloomberg or something. If he really is going to make a difference though, and I say IF, then he needs to start with the economy and foreign policy. I can't think of one individual who could be that guy.
With the Grim Reaper smiling at Mc, he may need to find a money guy too.
Actually when I think about it John McCain would be Obama best VP choice and Obama would be McCain's best VP choice. It really is too bad they are running against each other. They are like two halves of a coin. Obama is young and fresh and McCain is seasoned and experienced. I may be the only one who really is looking forward to this general race.
No. no. I'm happily contemplating the whole thing. May the best one win. I'm voting Dem of course, but Mc wouldn't be as bad as others.
Her senate seat is hers until January 2013.
Ditto. I thought she was conceding last night?
Don't worry, Hillary will NOT be offered the VP.
1. She keeps saying that she would never accept it, but this seems to be an act--if offered, she would take it because she's just that desparate. Besides, who in their right mind would want her on their ticket anyway?
2. She's defiant, arrogant, and terribly head-strong--she'd make an awful VP.
3. Who cares if she never conceeds, the election will go on without her.
4. The sway of her voters is insignificant, they will either vote Obama, McCain, or stay home, which, statistically speakiing, means that Obama and McCain will end up with an equal amount of Hillary's voters--thus, it doesn't matter what they do...Obama can win without him.
5. It's a Democratic year, Obama is a shoe-in even if he doesn't pick Clinton.
So, enough about Clinton already. Let's go kick some Republican a**.
I would say you are a bit arrogant yourself believing Obama is a shoe in this Fall. I've heard this before and then we Dems lose. Be careful of you boisterous attitude, The Fall will be tough for Senator Obama. Look at the states he's won and those he hasn't. Unjust bravado may cost the Democrates the White House. Remember this has only been a primary so far. Now, it's the real thing. I haven't forgotton Mondale, Dukakus, Kerry's lackluster loss or suffering my darkest days having Al Gore lose the White House.
Yeah. But they weren't running against 8 years of failed Republican politics. There is a clear difference between Republican and Democrat this year. The country is ready for Obama.
We had failed policy four years ago and Kerry should have been a shoe in and he didn't win. If the country looks to be in economic better shape in the Fall and by some stretch of the imagination we actually start to take troops out of Iraq the Dems could again fall flat. I understand you are smittened by Obama, and though I am not I will support his run for the White House, it's best to see he may have a difficult time this Fall and prepared for this. Having Hillary's backers is much more important than you think. Again, it's good not to be naive.
Nothing like Hills lunatics threatening to squeeze you. If Mc wins - that makes you MORE stupid.
Alvy - Obama's platform is Hillary's first. This is about the Democrates in the Fall not your intense and blinded support of your candidate. If you represent future unification of the party we are in trouble.
Hey stupid. If you were here for awhile, and not a plant, you would know I really don't give a rats ass who wins. I'd rather vote Dem than Rep idiot. That's about all.
I'm not emotionally invested.
Thanks goodness.
If Obama loses in November, don't come crying on this Democrat's shoulder. I'm not going to feel whiplashed like we all did in 2004
limitless88 you better get your act together and stop drinking si much Kool-Aid. "The sway of her voters is insignificant, they will either vote Obama, McCain, or stay home, which, statistically speakiing (sic), means that Obama and McCain will end up with an equal amount of Hillary's voters--thus, it doesn't matter what they do...Obama can win without him." This is about as unenlightened and arrogant as it gets. She has half of the Democratic base behind him. Look at the states he's won vs the caucuses. 10/13 of his caucus wins were Red states. Look at how he faltered after winning 11 in a row. Hello. She won South Dakota on the night he clinched the nomination, which was a wonderful message to George McGovern. He endorsed Barry the day after Sen Clinton's 41 point WV win and couldn't win his own state for Barry. Reminiscent of Edwards not carrying NC for Kerry. So you might want to come down out of your messianic ecstasy and look at the facts before you alienate even more Clinton supporters. They're out here watching this and your ignorance isn't helping. When are you going to get this. He has ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE of winning without her 18M supporters. Get a grip/
Now this is too much! No woman unless it's her! Sounds a little bit childish to me. My toddler use to act in the same way. If she couldn't have it, she didn't want anyone else to have it. I think Senator Clinton needs to do some growing up! So she lost. So have all of us. At least she didn't loose her only child in a Chinese earthquake. Each of us has suffered loss and betrayal (much of it unfairly). What have we been told. "You can either wallow in it or learn from it, put it behind you and move on to newer and better thing." Hillary needs to do likewise. Given she's in the spotlight, she should be giving us an example of how one can bow out humbly and graciously. I know that's not Hillary's style but she needs to do this for the sake of the Democratic party. She far, she's made it very clear that she wants her own needs met--not the needs of the party. She needs to buck up and accept the facts, no matter how unfair she feels life is treating her. Than she needs to do everything in her power to unite the party instead of continuing to divide it!
Read your own words. They sound more than a bit childish to me. How are you treating her? Humbly and graciously? No. You are whining like a toddler. She won the SD primary last night and you want her to concede? Those voters have been waiting six months and had every right to celebrate with her. Not everything has to be done to make Obama happy. He didn't win. He didn't beat her. He was named the nominee by the superdelegates. The people split their vote between them. The Party rules ultimately made him the delegate - not the people. If the nomination was decided by the Republican rules - Senator Clinton would be the nominee. If the superdelegates actually looked at the electability issue - it's clear she has won the important states. Think for a moment if the race and genders were reversed. Think of how your words would sound.
The only way the Democrats can win is if Obama/Clinton team up for a one two punch on McCain. It the only way the dems can win.
I agree. Hillary definitely needs to be on the ticket. It's only right. More votes during the November election if this happens. I don't want another Republican on board!!!
BuffyO, your point is well-taken, but I'm afraid with every passing hour, Hillary's lack of a concession is hurting the Nominee.
Honestly H.C. isnt the best choice for VP because she doesnt have Military exper. or Economics exper. neither her or Obama has excutive branch exper ... they dont pair well. how could they fight agianst Mccain & lets say Romney..
if he picks her it will be for superficial purposes & that is not good. they dont compliment each other. a VP is supose to compliment the Nom .
Really, I thought getting shot at in Bosnia made her an expert on military affairs. I suppose it doesn't count when the person shooting you in the foot is your husband.
LOL !!
Bill swears he is not Guilty :-) & he swears he will not Campagin for The Democratic Nom..
they are both sore Losers ...
YOU RIGHT!!!
Zig, you sound like you may be luck to have a 3rd grade education...May I say, that IF you were EVER fortunate enough to have a Trailer....it would have to be provided by the government, free of cost, then you would take it upon yourself to destroy it....You seem to know way too much about sittin on da poch, and drinking a 40oz,,,,maybe you ought to clean your own house before you start ranting about the white trash that keeps your butt on welfare............BANK IT
Actually, I am a 3rd grader - but I'm still making you look like a fool, so what does that say about you?
"Duh...yuk. Which way do I go..Duh...I'm an Army Ranger...duh..ya".
Do you squeeze the grease out of your mullet to fry the pigeon eggs?
Why even give a speech at the same time as the winner when you know that you have lost?
Well, core demo, how about an obligation not to foment disunity after losing?
Hillary has never understood that it wasn't the fact that she was a woman. It was the fact that she was THAT woman.
that's the same talk that Barry's camp is making about racist white folks. they have a reason to not vote for him because of Wright. all of you sexists and outright misogynists in here have a reason to not vote for a woman because she's THAT woman. Lame. And a man's opinion means nothing.
Exactly, I hear talk about sexism. It is not all about her being a woman. I could vote for a woman, but I could never vote for her. Her and Bill have a lot of baggage. Luckily for her, most American's have a short memory. I remember all the controversial pardons Bill made right before leaving office. Even a lot of democrats were outraged. However, no one ever remembers. Yes, the economy was doing well in the 90's, but you also had the stock market bubble of the late 90's, that he was lucky to get out of office before it burst.
He he...
Now Hillary's strategist is saying (on CNN the Clinton News Network) that pretty much it's Hillary's supporters that are (by default) responsible for Hillary's bad manners in not congratulating Obama on his nomination. The strategists says Hillary doesn't want to disappoint her supporters. So instead Hillary will disappoint everyone- many of her supporters (who are themselves questioning the Clinton behavior) the Obama supporters and most Americans in general!
I think there are other vp's that bring a lot more to the table.... I am a third-year law school student and I believe that he should keep pulling the change card by picking a young VP, but one that moves him towards the middle or pulls in votes in battleground states. My top selection would be Heath Shuler (imagine how the "hard-working" Americans in Appalacia would react to a local football hero). Tim Ryan is a more radical choice, but would help in Ohio.
I hope he picks you --- you sound as if you'd be a perfect match for Obama.
The whole of your political belief system is the word change.
You'd like football players to run the country.
Your thinking won't be cluttered by too much experience.
And you could call each other sweetie.
You're perfect for the job.
Core Democrat, you forget that Reagan not only was a football hero, he played on in the movies. Does "Here's one for the Gipper" sound familiar to you? Reagan was a damn good President, despite being a matinee idol and a football star.
However, I can't agree with Chernota's VP picks. Great idea, but there are better candidates.
Reagan was about the worse president ever, until GW Bush came along.
Reagan was a liar, plain and simple. His strategy (delveloped by Atwater) was to say what the people want to hear and then do whatever you want.
Reagan was a crook. He had a pre-election deal with Iran to postpone release of American hostages until 15 minutes after Reagan was sworn in to success Jimmy Carter.
Reagan sold missles to Iran and then illegally funneled the money to the Contra in Nicaragua. He attempted to cover it up, but Oliver North went to prison for running the Iran-Contra operation at Reagan's request.
Reagan was mentally incompetent. He had alzheimer's for the last half of his administration, was out of touch with reality. His staff covered for him until he left office.
Reagan had something in common with Obama: "ignite passion, extinguish reason".
Lee Atwater probably did more damage to American politics than anyone who ever lived before him, but I think David Axelrod will surpass him.
I understand why Reagan is Obama's hero.
Thank you hore democrat.
Okay. From the looks of it, not a good day here today. You should go listen to music, A. Nice song to cheer you up.
I believe the Gov of Kansas, Kathleen Seblius would be an excellent choice and would help to unite Catholic females (which was a good % of Hillary supporters), Ohio, and Republican voters to name a few. Kathleen is a Roman Catholic, born in Cincinatti Ohio. She is the daughter of former Ohio governor John J. Gilligan, and thus they became the first father/daughter governor pair in the United States after her election. Her husband K. Gary Sebelius is a federal magistrate judge and the son of former U.S. Representative Keith Sebelius, a Republican.

I'm with you. I think he needs to pick someone more in the middle, but I'd like to see someone with mad nat'l security credentials and maybe a little older since there is a fairly major split along age demographics.
Hmmm... now why do you want someone with foreign policy or nat'l security experience?
And why would he need someone older?
Neither side wants Hillary as VP; there's no upside to it; forget it.
1. It will not gain Obama support from Hillary supporters who are angry about the treatment she's received. It might actually be more of an insult; certainly doesn't change the past.
2. It will not gain support from people who think Obama is not qualified. Having Hillary on the ticket as VP does not change his qualifications or lack thereof.
3. Many Obama supporters hate Hillary more than they like Obama; might cost him their votes.
4. If Obama asked her to be his vp, it would be for one reason and only one reason: to get votes from her supporters who don't like him. Everyone knows this and would see through it, so this strategy will not work.
5. Hillary supporters prefer her because of her policies and qualifications; not because they worship her, so they will not vote for Obama just because she tells them to or alligns herself with him. They will still judge him on his own merits.
6. There's no upside for Hillary or her supporters to her being vp. She could not accomplish any of her goals in that slot.
7. In the Senate, she has more power and can accomplish more.
8. Universal health care is a huge issue for her and her supporters. She could not achieve that as Obama's vp; he has painted himself in a corner about making health insurance "optional", so he can't back down without looking really wishy-washy.
In the Senate, she might be able to get a universal health care bill passed through a democratic house and senate. If so, Obama might not veto it. (he could still save face with a fancy word-twisting speech about his stance on "choice".)
9. Universal health coverage is really important to her and her supporters; she should take the route that better enables her to accomplish it.
10. She's too good for v.p. and should not tarnish her political legacy by association with Obama . His race is about the only good thing he's got going for him. If he should win, his administration is bound to be worse than GW Bush's. Considering his associates that we know about now, who knows what else will come out. He's a powderkeg for the democratic party: it's in her best interests to stay away.
11. They neither like nor respect one another. Why choose 4 years of misery for both of them. There's no upside.
Another long post from a Hillary supporter. Let's take a look:
1. Wrong
2. Stupid
*Yawn*
3. Wrong and Stupid
*Yawn*
4. Wro ... ZZZZZZZZZZ
I couldn't agree more. You've got it!
Just when you think it can't get any worse...
Rep. Emanuel (Hil&Billy supporter) was just on CNN making excuses for Hillary's bad manners for not congratulating Obama. Get this, Emanuel says "Her (Hillary) haying she'd accept the VP is acknowledging his (Obama's ) win". I'm sorry Hillary that was so subtle the ENTIRE WORLD (except Emanuel) MISSED IT!
The media is not fit to cover anything more than boring rich, spoiled, mindless celebrities nowadays. No facts, no truth or honesty, spin and personal opinion on everything, only facts they want you to know.
Tabloid journalism at work!
I know exactly what you mean - I keep telling them to stop covering Hillary and McCain, but will they listen to me? No way.
How about John McBush for President!
Another 4 years of Republican rule and Democratic stupidity and this country will not exist anymore..
"Why in the world would she concede?" Oh, I don't know. Maybe because he WON? Are the Democrats really that much in la-la land? She poured ice water on what should've been the such an exciting night for everyone, not just Democrats, but all of us as a country. Her scowl and anger made my skin crawl. I'm sad for her, I believe this was all she had. MSNBC says that now Obama also won the popular vote (Not what makes you a nominee, but what she kept insisting she had.) He had the delegates anyway. By the way, he also had the support Bill's cabinet for the most part. They saw something new, exciting, and fresh in him. It's an exciting new day for all of us. The Democratic party will move forward. It's now her problem.
