I'd like to put in a bid to fumigate the White House after the louse leaves. That AWOL Deserting Coward , murder of over a million innocent Iraqis that had nothing what so ever to do with 9/11. These dems that would consider voting against Obama the man with enough common sense to against the war from the very begining, just because their candidate finished second, well they give dems a bad name. Stand together Dem the USA has spoken.

  • Posted By: News and Notes @ 06/04/2008 12:55:50 PM

I don't know why Hillary is getting so much grief. Yesterday once she realized she was not going to be the nominee, and she was asked for the 100,000th time, she merely confirmed she would be "open to the idea" of being vice president. She didn't concede last night becuase people were still voting until 10PM EST, and it was actually superdelegate party elites who put Obama over the top. She's got 18 million constituents, many of whom are more moderate than Obama. Leave her alone. She'll come around. Why are the insults still being hurled?

    • Posted By: 12waz @ 06/04/2008 4:05:43 PM

Well said. The messianic fog has still not lifted. Imagine if their situations were reversed. There would not be a question as to who the VP would be whether Sen Clinton wanted it or not. There would be no whining about concession speeches or threats towards him. The thought of it is ludicrous. She won the SD primary on the night he got enough delegates. Those voters in SD deserved their recognition by their candidate. Why in the world would she "concede" on the same night? The MSM was forewarned that she wasn't going to. They characterize her as being ungracious even as they continue to bash her. If she won - would they be hammering Obama? No they would be saying it was a really historic campaign and that he deserved to take his time. If she had made a concession speech, they would be complaining that she stole his limelight. She celebrates her primary victory with South Dakotans and the rest of her supporters in a race that is much closer than anyone wants to admit and she's selfish. Haha. It was made perfectly clear last night that the MSM wanted Obama's "historic moment" to include a concession speech. And they whined and whined about how she could have made the moment "perfect" for him (them) instead of focusing solely on Obama. That was the MSM's choice. They have no concept of the utter devastation of Clinton supporters and what it means for their chosen one (literally). She deserves-and her supporters deserve-to have a separate moment to help her transition. A separate moment to be recognized for her accomplishments. No matter what Obama characterizes himself as - he's still a man. And no matter how the math - metrics- delegate numbers stack up - Obama could not beat her. He could not win on his own. And part of his winning included (however significant or insignificant) behind closed doors negotiations. Why, if the math ruled out Clinton months ago, did Obama make such a fight over 4 delegates? He had ten times that already lined up to endorse him. The fight over those four delegates may very well determine whether or not he wins Michigan and thus the presidency. Think for one second if the black man was the one who had four delegates taken from him by the rich white woman who wasn't on the ballot? If the fate of the black man's voters was decided outside the range of cameras and without the scrutiny of those in the audience? How would the black man's supporters have reacted after the decision? And how long would that ruling be contested?

Before all you Hillary supporters blow a gasket, you should review this transcript from her strategy sessions. I think you will find it very enlightening:

Coming out of Super Tuesday, I am going to win, time to coast ...

Oops, wrong about that, maybe I shouldn't have ignored the cacuses ...

Bill, for God's sake, will you just shut up ...

I know, let's blame it on the media ...

That's not working, maybe we should convince everyone that West Virgina is the most important state in the Presidential race ...

That didn't work either, I know, let's get them to seat the Michigan and Florida voters, maybe no one will notice that I was fine with stripping those states of their delegates at the beginning of the nominating process or that I cheated in Michigan by leaving my name on the ballot ...

Still no joy, I got it, let's make everyone believe that the delegates don't matter and it is all about the popular vote ...

Oops, I didn't win the popular vote ...

I just want to be President ... waaaaaa ... *stomp* *stomp*

Then I suppose you are not going to like this transcript of her speech last night either:

blah, blah, blah, ME, blah, blah, blah, ME, blah, ME, blah, ME, blah, blah, MORE ME, blah ... 20 minutes later ...blah, blah, ME, blah, blah, ME, blah, MORE ME, blah, blah.

Obama would be crazy to oick Clinton as a VP; it would be the nightmare ticket with all the Clinton baggage she would bring with her. Fortunately she shot herself in the foot with her arrogant 'non-concession' speech last night. She is entitled to very little after running such a dumb campaign.
I'm not too afeared because Michelle would never allow that woman to be on the ticket.

    Markel

I hope you're right about that! That's a good point about Michelle; she doesn't like whitey!

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 06/04/2008 1:19:07 PM

it will be a nightmare ticket without her

  • Posted By: Bastieggi @ 06/04/2008 2:45:28 PM

Hillary did not have more people vote for her . What mindless comments that through no own fault of their own(since the News Medias only posted the popular vote totals before Montana results came in, whereas Obama picked up over 25,000 more votes than Hillary in Montana, Hillary picked up 10,000 in South Dakota and she only lead by 3000 prior to last nights races netting Obama a appx 8000 popular vote lead.

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 06/04/2008 4:00:10 PM

what is your point? it was a very close race, nobody is contesting that.

  • Posted By: Tony C. @ 06/04/2008 2:53:27 PM

I'm so tired of the media acting like fools and proclaiming Obama the Messiah and his nomination as the Second Coming.

Fact 1 : If the white voters in Iowa had not voted for him in droves he would have been out of the race long ago.

Fact 2: If Obama had not played the race card, which he of cours has denied from day one, he would not have done nearly as well in the caucuses or anywhere else, as he did.

Fact 3: If the press could ever learn how to do their jobs correctly and report fairly, without bias, accurately, honstly and give EQUAL time to all candidates running, it would never have come down to an aging ex-POW, and ex-CEO, a woman and a black man!

Fact 4: If the Democratic voters, and voters in general in this country, were not so apathetic, whiny and lazy, the Democratic Party as a whole not so blind and ignorant, and the delgates less concerned with re-election and more concerned with doing the right thing Obama would NOT be the nominee.

Fact 5: Obama has done NOTHING to deserve such praise. Many white voters and black voters and the superdelegates GAVE him the nomination, not because he deserved it by his work or experience, and it is those people, whether through furthering their own careers or out of ignorance, sticking together by race, etc. tht carried him to victory with the nomination.

Fact 6: If he does not find someone with some sense to TELL HIM to put Hillary on the ticket as V.P. he will lose big time to McBush in November and this "Messiah" that the black community has annoited him will proove to be nothing more than flesh and blood just like the rest of us, as that is when everyone will realize what a mistake it was to put him forth as the nominee in 2008.

The Democrats just never seem to learn, like the Republicans seem never to be able to stop lying, cheating and covering-up. We deserve just what we get,. We elect these fools over and over again and then have the audactiy to whine and complain when things go from bad to worse.

    Anyone for more Kool-Aid?

  • Posted By: colemanj @ 06/04/2008 2:13:26 PM

I too sincerely hope that we can keep McCain out of the White House. However, I do not believe that everyone who voted for Hillary is inconsequential. I am a Democrat, however I have serious misgivings about Obama. It is not simply a case of "my preferred candidate is not running but I will vote for whichever Democrat is". When all the mud-slinging and name-calling dies down, the bottome line is: I believe that Obama's inexperience (for one) is as large a negative as that which McCain will bring to office. This country is in trouble. Personality and enthusiasm is not going to fix it.

    • Posted By: bobbyb4n6 @ 06/04/2008 3:57:23 PM

True but 4 more years of Bush's policies out of McCain obviously won't.....

  • Posted By: Tony C. @ 06/04/2008 3:14:05 PM

If asked to be V.P. Hillary should tell Obama, the superdelegates and the Democratic Party to go stragiht to HELL, unless it hurts her from rising in the party.

Just let them realize as November gets closer what a huge mistake they made, for they never realize it until it's way tooooo late!

  • Posted By: roadking13 @ 06/04/2008 3:56:11 PM

I wouldn't offer Hillary/Billary the VP for any amount of money. Who cares that she would like to be offered it so she (claims) she can turn it down. And the notion that "she''s been there done that" as first lady is BS. She was first lady not the VP and didn't have any legal or polical position. She lost the nomination for many reasons and her arrogance is one of them

  • Posted By: factsearcher @ 06/04/2008 3:55:42 PM

And who is she to decide what Obama needs to pick or who whould be the best choice for America?
She did not win and many of us agree that she should not be the VP. We certainly would have Billy on our shoulders with his tandrums and tirade.

  • Posted By: cnn357 @ 06/04/2008 3:55:34 PM

Oh great. She still isnt finished huh? At the begining of this campaign I didnt understand why eople said that Hillary was a polarizing figure. Now its clear as day. She has intentionally polaized her base to the degree that they will not vote for Obama. she has taken 17 million voters and tainted them so that Obama must deal with her. what a great leader
They hate him and she has done nothing but encoutage it.
She has made herself into a matyr, and wheen you havea matyr, thier followers become
    irrational.

Its clear that she has no regard for the party. ThoughI think is a way she does have the country's best interest in mind

The thing is that she thinks she is best for the country (actually I do too) but the irony is that her self centric view is hurting Obama's chances and thus hurting the country

Its also the reason why she lost the race. She should have stayed hmble

ISN'T THIS TOO IMPORTANT AS ISSUE TO MAKE IT A GAME? SENATOR OBAMA SHOULD'NT HAVE TO BE FORCED TO PLACE SOMEONE ON THE TICKET WHOM HE DOESN'T WANT TO. IF SENATOR CLINTON IS SO CONCERNED ABOUT "OUR COUNTRY" SHE NEEDS TO STAY IN THE SENATE WHERE SHE CAN ACTUALLY GET SOMETHING DONE ON HEALTH CARE REFORM. HOWEVER, BEWARE ALL YOU NURSES OUT THERE BECAUSE THE LAST TIME SHE TRIED TO REFORM HEALTH CARE SHE STATED THAT NURSES SHOULDN'T BE MAKING OVER $9.00/HR.

  • Posted By: Tony C. @ 06/04/2008 3:19:07 PM

Maybe Obama should choose one of the following clowns in the black community for his V.P., sure they would love it and give them a platform to shoot their loud, ignorant, hate-filled mouths off:

Rev. Wright, Rev. Farrakahn, Rev. Sharpton, Rev. Jackson, Rev. Pfleger, Tony Rezko (though I hear this one likes to lay low and do his dirty work off-camera).
