As an Obama supporter, I still found this article to be very insulting in tone, referring to HRC's "explosive" nature etc. That was entirely unnecessary to discuss the FACTS. From all the comments I see on many many blogs, ti would seem the supporters (not all, but a lot, it would seem) of both BHO and HRC have a long way to go in fully grasping the message(s) of both candidates. If Hillary is calling for unity, why do a write in or vote for McCain? If Barack is praising Clinton, why continue to bash her? That's not the way followers of a candidate who ran as a uniter should be acting. We all need to grow up and focus on the issues and the better part of ourselves and on what is best for our collective future, which is to start getting along so we can get things done. That is the "Obama Way."

Be aware we have people on these blogs claiming to be Hillary supporters so they can divide the two supporters dont fall for it. It makes no since to turn against someone you supported and go against everything they are working to change.
If we have a few idiots that will do that, let them be. We will move forward and bring change to our government (which is more important) with Obama and Clinton united. Dont listen to some angry fools.

while we sit here blogging about who should lead this country lets turn to the news i just read on msnbc it appears that israel is gearing up on a attack againt iran and they have said if israel does attack then they will attack both israel and us targets in iraq and in the gulf now we have to think who will be the best leader of this country this is gonna be bad so my fellow americans we must stop and think about what can and will happen if the attack do take place remember we have troops in iraq and afganistan and they will be out numbered by alot we need someone that has experiance to do the job and this by no means is disrespectful to obama just please make the right choice our country depends on it !!

Wow, keep your right wing fear tactics on another blog. China's army vastly outnumbers ours too but just as the militaries you mentioned none even provide a remote threat given our capabilites. Lets honestly assess from the candidates who would be best and it isnt ther person who likes the economies current condition or will make it worse. Vote McSame and bring back the Draft!!!

Yes vote for McCain! He wants to kill you children in Iraq, and for those he doesn't kill, he wants to saddle them with such a deficit that they will be paying for it throughout their lifetime. But they can use their vacation money, because when McCain is done raping what is left of our wilderness, there won't be anywhere to take a vacation.

Well lets see. HRC Won the last 13 out of 15 States- But BHO Gets Delegates that put him as the Democratic Nominee. I don't know any V.P. Nominee that would be Worthy other than H.R.C. - He should offer it to Her -And She should Accept- And We can All Move On to Heal Our Country. Otherwise it looks like John Bush Mccain will Win in November. That's the way I see it. ' The HarleyMan'

    • Posted By: griffin1 @ 06/06/2008 7:12:17 AM

The word is out that Hillary is not interested in vp role, secondly, OBAMA had over 18 million supporters as well as Hillary. Counting every vote in MI and FL would still have Hillary trailing, Hillary and Obama will join together at some point to win in November, McBush is our number one priorty to beat in November

      • Posted By: Concerned Ctzn @ 06/07/2008 12:53:46 AM

RE: "The word is out that Hillary is not interested in vp role ..."

YEAH RIGHT! You mean BO is not gonna "REALLY" offer her the spot. Publicly maybe, but not REALLY???NO. If it's offered to her it will be a political stunt to appease all the scorned Hillz supporters.

And of course, Hillz will probably diplomatically turn it down. But I think it's safe to say that the two are gonna workout some type BS arrangement.

      • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/06/2008 11:39:59 PM

I was thinking John Edwards would be a good VP pick. But then, I read a ticker tape message at the bottom of CNN screen saying if asked he would not accept the VP role. If Hillary were asked to fill a VP role by Obama and she accepted, Id be all for it. I just cant picture it happening in reality.

  • Posted By: Rametyn @ 06/05/2008 11:10:39 AM

    Micky, in all seriousness.

    Obama has no side.

First he said we should negotiate with Iran, then denies he made that claim---although you can look it up.

He says he was a loyal patron of Rev Wright's church--then denounces his comments and beliefs.

He denies being a friend to Rezco--even though he bought his house from the man.

Nothing this man says gels with consistancy of standing on any side of any kind.

But because he says it so elequontely--you hear the words and not the bs.

Look I have a friend who can read the indgredients off the back of a package of plain rice cake and make it sound like Shakespeare--but that doesn't make them taste any better.

    • Posted By: Micky Marsh @ 06/05/2008 11:34:20 AM

Yes I believe Senator Obama is a little green in foreign policies, but with worthy associates surrounding him and also helping him, he can bridge those gaps. Yes it true its almost impossible to negotiate with with countries like Iran and others- like- iran. we have to negotiate with our friends and together we can place restrictions on countries like Iran.

      • Posted By: Concerned Ctzn @ 06/05/2008 11:46:37 AM

Hey Micky, seriously, that's exactly what most people thought or said about "W" before he got elected He's a good ol' boy from Texas. Down to earth kinda guy. Like 'em a lot. A real Cowboy. Let's just make sure we surround him with good (?) cabinet members and every thang should be just peachy. WRONG!

        • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/07/2008 12:50:25 AM

hat is the story around that. The VP had lots of foreign affair experience and few others around him. Why did everything get so screwed up? My guess he just DID'NT LISTEN TO NOBODY, the dictator that he is. The only reason GWB got elected 4yrs ago is the old scare tactic in which all of a sudden Bin Ladin came out of no where with a threatening tape and scare the heck out of Us Citizens, especially the older citizens. That is all I can think. I definitely did not vote for GWB. Cant wait until his madness is over!

Hillary's over inflated ego must be cut down to size just a little bit. She is still under the impression that she is IT, and that isn't true. She ran a dirty campaign against Senator Obama, with disrespectful comments, mockings, and TV ads attacking him personally and professionally. The 3 AM ad is a case in point.
Now that she has lost, she is still on her high horse demanding the if Obama wants her for VP spot, he has to beg her for it.
She has not conceded gracefully as she should, because she was defeated, fair and square, even as she raved and ranted foul in the Fla. and Micigan primaries, after she had agreed to to abide by the rules of the DNC. She is a sore loser. Her invocation of RFK assassination alone disqualifies her from being considered for the veep spot.
She is now suggesting to Obama not to select another lady for the spot. (It would be too much for her ego to take.)

Obama would do well to consider Kansas' Gov. Kathleen Sebelius or Arizona's Gov. Janet Napolitano, both of whom supported him with respect and enthusiasm with no strings attached, from day one. Senator Claire MCCaskill from Missouri is also an excellent candidate. These candidates are more compatible with Obama than Hillary. Hillary voted for the Iraq war and never retracted herself. She is for the past and Obama is for the future. He must consider a person with whom he could work. Some one that has the same political philosophy and outlook of life, and Hillary is not that someone.

I've heard of kicking someone while they are down, but this article is a complete butchering of Clinton after she has narrowly lost the nomination. It is chock full of highly personal insults and assumptions about her character that are completely unfounded, and of course, all the negative things are based on UNNAMED sources. Hillary Clinton is a "bundle of explosives" and poor Baract Obama has to soothe her. No sexist, biased bent in that phrase (sarcasm intended). Great jounralism there.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised since this guy is a regular on Father Coughlin's, I mean Keith Olbermann's, Hillary bashing show. Nice going Howard. You managed to completely obliterate your journalistic credibility with just a few words.

I've got a great idea: Hillary Clinton narrowly lost the nomination but got an historic number of votes, so LAY OFF HOWARD, and give her a moment's peace without hurling insults her way. Can she have ONE DAY?

Amen to that. There are plenty of hacks at Newsweek though. Jonathan Alter and Andrew Romano come to mind. Romano actually wrote a ten page article on how brilliant Obama's fonts and layouts are on his campaign signs, and that's why (at the time) he was winning.

I'm not making that up. Scary.

This article makes no sense to me. Why would a presidential candidate who may very well need a woman in the VP slot to win the White House enter into an agreement whereby he cannot put a woman on the ticket? It's one thing to expect to be asked before adding a different woman, but to prohibit a woman from getting on the ticket is ludicrious! If this story is true than my new opinion of obama is that he's the most chronically stupid and unperseptive person in politics.

This is not helping! We are working towards a new goal now. All of us Clinton and Obama supporters against McCain. He cannot be permitted to enter the White House.

  • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 06/06/2008 3:40:11 PM

McCain is seriously courting Sen. Clinton's supporters!

Supporters of Sen. Clinton are correct in thinking that wining the white house will be much easier if we all come tother, which is what I pray for. But those that are considering and/or planning to vote for McCain out of anger that she did not win the nomination really need to remember that Sen. Clinton's and Sen. McCain's policies and views are 100% opposite (with the exeception of the gas tax holiday) while Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama's are very very similiar.

Without your vote, there is a very good chance that we will not win the White House and if that happens you will be the cause of 4 more years of Bush's policy, thousands of more deaths of our young soldiers etc. If you vote for McCain and he wins, you will not have the right to complain, because he will be the president that you voted in. I am sure that Sen. Clinton would have a serious problem with that!

Also I see that there are several new posters claiming to be Clinton supporters who are spewing the hate and racism against Sen. Obama while encouraging other Clinton supporters to support McCain, they are suspect. Please people we have to get past this nonsense the primaries are over. Clinton and Obama seem to be doing fine. We cannot allow McBush to get into the white house.

There was an internal investigation of the Bush administration and they found and stated clearly that Bush, Cheney and the intelligence agencies embellished information and out right lied to us about the reasons for going to war. They also mentioned McCain in this. Did anyone see the Richard Clark interview and the segment on the investigation last night on MSNBC Countdown? If so please post the information and any links that you may find. Thanks

I find it telling--and quite amazing--that Dems will find a way to argue anything as to twist it so their weakness is not exposed. Now experience doesn't matter Alvy? LOL Why? Simply because the Mcain has alot more of it than Obama does and it ticks you off. That's why. You're candidate can't argue against that.

Hey Alvy, if experience, or qualifications don't matter, then why don't we just randomly pick our president from a group of people just walking down the street.

Oh, wait--you would've probably have to make sure they were liberal enough first

    LOL

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 06/05/2008 2:13:51 PM

If John McCain has all this experience why is it he never talks about the issues? Why is it he can't even make a five sentence speech without reading it? I do respect him because he is a war hero but he is not so experienced. Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan were both governors. Not all that much experience there.

      • Posted By: Alvy @ 06/05/2008 2:42:26 PM

He really doesn't have any experience. He does forget however.
And that man loves war and snatching away women's rights.

And calling you wife names is bad, doing it in public is out of control.

Obama will never bring this up, but I will. I wonder how that will sit with Hillary's female supporters. I also heard that someone a republican wrote a book detailing these instances.

  • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 06/05/2008 6:00:24 PM

Whether or not she wants it or he wants to offer it; whether or not it would be good for the ticket or not good for the ticket is all moot. Hillary Clinton will not be the veep because Bill Clinton won't consent to having his foundation books vetted. There's a good reason why so many of his donors are anonymous and it's not because there are a lot of altruistic billionaires in the world. Clinton's foundation does a lot of good work, but securing the means for that good end is a little like making sausage -- you really don't want to know the details. But I don't think Obama can risk having Bill's more creative donations come to light in the middle of the campaign. Good, bad or indifferent,, Hillary will not be the VP candidate.

Ridiculous, Mr. Fineman. I think that's your media spin again. Hillary wants to be offered the Vice Presidency. She will not agree in advance to decline it. She will either decline it or accept it. There will be no ambiguity there. She will work eagerly to secure the candidacy for Senator Obama in either case. I think you're shilling for the Obama camp with this spin you're giving out. Obama will make his decision and will have to live by it. We eagerly await his choice.

And a few Thousand Votes above 1/3 between 3 Candidates would Put HER as Our President in November-It's a long shot.......But She's got My Vote. 2. She needs to pick a Good Running Mate that would help her in November- Stephanie Tubbs Jones - She has supported Her all through this. And That's The DREAM TICKET. And Hillary R. A little comedy for today......

A woman was teaching her computer Illiterate husband how to use the computer, she started by explaining to him how he had to first create a user name and password. To get his wife's attention he deliberately typed in the word "penis" for his password. His wife fell off the chair laughing, popped up on the screen; " PASSWORD REJECTED NOT LONG ENOUGH"
