Donna, Donna, sat on Hillary's wall.... when Hillary lost she had a great fall! Who is really cracked now Donna?
AND stop posting that our troops in Iraq have only themselves to blame for being stuck in Iraq because they signed up!

It was a wonderful speech, Obama, 20,000 seated and 15,000 outside of the center. Amazing he was so gracious. But she still will not let go, did you hear her encouraging the whole we have been disrespected BS? She is still campaigning and begging for money. At no time did she acknowledge his win or mention the word unite, while he congratulated and praised both Clintons. When will she get it?

      • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 06/04/2008 12:48:53 PM

Hi SJ. O always attracts HUGE crowds. No one else ever has. Yes, I saw part of the speech. Shallow. I don't recall her congratulating our man though. Here I am trying to be fair in supporting her for the VP. Now, I don't know.

        • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 06/04/2008 1:41:30 PM

Hillary as VP, I just do not see it, he could not trust her or Bill. I would really like to see him pick a Republican as VP. I believe that would totally seal the united Americans deal. She congratulated Sen. Obama and his supporters for running a good campaign but did not mention his nomination. She is still trying to screw him over.

            sjpersonal.
As usual i think you have really good ideas but do you think it is possible? Just think if the president and VP could be bipartisan and work together maybe they could put pressure on other areas of the government
at all levels to work together in a bipartisan way. What a great concept, thinking outside the box.

            • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 06/04/2008 2:44:12 PM

              Hey Lori,
Yes I do believe that Americans would support Obama and a Republican VP. He has a large support base within the Republican party. His whole campaign has been about uniting Americans.

    • Posted By: kshortSD @ 06/04/2008 11:43:00 AM

Yeah, Donna. Have you no idea how disturbing and disrespectful your posts are??

  • Posted By: griffin1 @ 06/04/2008 2:29:50 PM

    Congrats to OBAMA...

A vote for McCain is NOT a vote for Hillary. A vote for McCain is a vote for Geo. W Bush.

There are many McCain supporters posing as Clintonites, urging you to vote for McCain. They are trying to manipulate your mind.

Clintonites everywhere have to ask themselves some hard questions. I know that Obama has been your rival in the Democratic primary, but it pays to know who your real allies are. If you voted for Clinton because you believe in her policies, you would NEVER vote for McCain, whose political stand is OPPOSITE to Clinton's. Even if your don't like Obama or you are ticked off at the fact that Hillary didn't get the nomination, remember, it is not about who you like as much as it is about WHAT they will do in office. Obama's plans and politics are almost identical to Hillary's. Voting for McCain because you are upset that Clinton lost is like shooting yourself in the foot. Do your REALLY want four more years of a failed economy? Do you REALLY want the recession to become another Great Depression?

I am a Republican who decided to vote for Obama, partly because I think he is a great candidate, but even more so because I am very concerned about the economy. Early in the race when it wasn't certain who was going to win the Dem nomination, I used to say that if Obama lost I would vote for McCain. My reason for that was that I'm a Republican, but also because I hated the Bill Clinton drama years, and I just couldn't warm up to Hilary's personality. But two months ago I realized that if Clinton gets the nomination, I would have to vote for her, even though I really don't like her, because voting for McCain would be so dangerous for our economy, which is on the brink of ruin.

I really respected Huckabee's morals and loved his personality, but when I thought it through, I couldn't see him as President, he just wasn't strong enough to tackle the problems facing us today. McCain is in the same boat. You may not like Obama, but you have to admit he ran a great campaign and has some serious chops as a politician. He can get the job done. Hillary could have too.

What about a Hillary/Bloomberg Independent team for November, the winner will need 34% instead of the current 51%. Don't think finance will be a problem for Bloomberg.
The electorate will then have a better choice than just voting along party lines.
Thers will also be a better chance that member of congress will finally get off their laurels and work for the betterment of this country.

There are usually 4 to 5 other parties as well as independants running for presidents.

      Doubtful.

To all of you most gracious Hillary supporters thank you for the hard fought close contest. As I have said many times before if your candidate would have been on the winning side of this I would of (reluctantly) put my support and vote behind her. So with that said I would like to welcome you to the Campaign for "The American People" and our next president Barack Obama. Your support is much appreciated and America needs you more now than ever before. "This is our Moment This is our Time"

Hillary and Obama have similar policies, you can't say the same for your second choice MCBUSH. Wake up and stop this madness. Good fight to the end but it's time to join together and beat the republicans.

  • Posted By: kshortSD @ 06/04/2008 11:47:47 AM

Congratulations to Senator Obama! Your speech was wonderful and you deserved every bit of glory in your moment! It will be the moment of your life...until January 09 when you are sworn in! Way to go!

  • Posted By: griffin1 @ 06/04/2008 11:47:34 AM

That is so true - on a blog last night, some bloggers are republicans stirring controversy between the parties, also Rush Limbaugh has told his listeners to turn Hillary supporters against Obama supporters so they can get McBush in office. Let's not fall for this madness, It a shame that a republican can put out the word and we fall for this. Hillary and Obama = same team (Hillary unite the party and fast) the race is over

Sign of relief for a while. Wait until you hear the tape of the radical Michelle Obama insulting "White America". Obama knows that it exists and want to silence us. Do you know that he said that talking about his wife is out of question since his wife is not running. This is not the Old Soviet Union! Obama cannot silence the American people. His arrogance and audacity is the sign of a true dictactor. Listen Mr. City sleeker, we are american and we are free. Therefore you and your leftist con media machine cannot and will not silence us.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 06/04/2008 11:14:39 AM

So exactly where did you read or hear that this tape existed? Please site a reliable source, not a message board or blog, please!

TOTALLY WITH YOU, unfortunately those who have been unable to count throughout this election still seem to not be able to count. She has not conceded and per CNN it appears as though she is still campaigning. I do not understand her position,

  • Posted By: chuck-u-farley @ 06/04/2008 10:21:50 AM

We are ready for a woman presisdent, just not that woman....Everone blames Bush, he is one man that WE THE PEOPLE give direction to. The House and the Senate are controlled by big industry. The Clinton years were good because the path set BEFORE him. He created free trade, and took all our jobs overseas. China is buying our oil and food and our prices are going up while exporters and big oil reap huge profits. The MAJORITY know this was all CLINTON'S fault, and that is why Hillary could not EVER become president. We didn't trust her when she made all the wrong decisions for Bill, and don't trust her know. Sad that she seemed to have a lot of votes, but they were by so many people dicided to vote for woman, or NOT to vote for a black. That kind of shallow thinking it what puts BUSHIES in power.

Well after a storm there is always a calm, Senator Obama really needed this moment. I'm very happy for him, finally senator Clinton can take a seat. On new years day I saw in a vision sitting in the audience listening to Senator Obama speaking, from then I knew she wasn't going win the Democratic ticket .

  • Posted By: mbailiff @ 06/04/2008 9:09:44 AM

Hillary lost Obama won. Now we need to come together and do so very quickly. Obama and Hillary have the exact same policy agendas so there is no reason these two can not work together. Hillary brings 18 million voters and experience to Obama's change, inspiration, and youth. The next generation is poised to take the helm but they should take a little help from the last generation so the same mistakes of the past are not repeated. Take advice and help from those who have done that and been there. Hillary can certainly give advice on what not to do. She also has a lot of procedural experience in the white House and the Senate that could really help Obama who has not yet completed his first term in the senate and he has not lived in the White House for 8 years as she has. Hillary has a lot of experience to share and Obama has a lot of youthful enthusiasm and some great ideas to bring to a new White House. Let's join together in this democratic party and make history twice, the first black president and the first female vice president. Let's all vote in November and let's remember as a Hillary supporter and a women that the most important difference between Obama and McCain is that Obama will apoint nominees to the Supreme Court that are pro-choice while McCain will apoint conservatives that could overturn Roe vs. Wade. The overturn of Roe vs. Wade would be devastating. We would have women getting abortions in back rooms illeaglly and unsafely. Womens health would suffer greatly. Let's move forward together and not backwords.

  • Posted By: Yeahboy1 @ 06/04/2008 3:24:56 AM

McCain is not George Bush. The man is about as patriotic as a human being gets, and his family has a pedigree. Obama is an inexperienced radical, and was in the past a radical. He's seen by some as the second coming of Christ for one reason or another, but I'm not buying it. The general public was so damaged by Bush and his policies that they want the exact opposite, but Obama is so far left, we'll never recover. Change this, Change that, Change what? Really? What?

    • Posted By: yupik1 @ 06/04/2008 5:11:34 AM

Aren't pedigrees started off by in-breeding? Sounds kind of sickening if you ask me. I honor his service to this beautiful country, but he's not Presidential material. Plus he's just too old. He's flip-flopped so much, he can have a debate with himself!

    • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/04/2008 4:31:26 AM

McCain is not George Bush? Are you sure? I mean, I have never seen the two of them together. I think you may be onto something. McCain is George Bush - it is his evil plan to serve another term. Wow, why didn't I see it before? Yeahboy1, you have saved the planet!

  • Posted By: Ceege @ 06/04/2008 2:47:25 AM

It's hard to believe that a candidate with little experience as been chosen over a candidate with so much more exerience. It's as though those delegates have lost all reason. I am very worried that Obama will lose the general election. A lot of voters are not going to forget that this man sat in a church for 20 year listening to anti-American and racist sermans. Clinton has so much more to bring to the office of president. The only way he can win is if he has Clinton running with him for vice president. Perhaps then people will have more confidence in voting for him knowing she will be there to advise him. I hope Hilary has a plan to get these delegates to change their minds at the convention. That's when the tally really counts. This country cannot take anymore of what a Republican president will do in office. I really do not believe that Obama can beat McCain. What a mess this has turned into.

    • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/04/2008 4:28:39 AM

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Why would you chose a candidate who has absolutely no experience screwing people over when you could have one who is an expert at it? What were those wacky delegates thinking.

    • Posted By: yupik1 @ 06/04/2008 4:18:45 AM

Experience??? LMFAO!!!!!!!!!! Being a First lady isn't a elected public position. Obama has almost twice as many years as a elected public official than Hillary. State and Federal Senate experience.

  • Posted By: Thevail @ 06/04/2008 1:49:38 AM

Look, I'm all for letting the Lady have a few minutes. This was a damn close primary. And heck, Obama probably needs a few days to wallow in both the happiness of success and the worry about the general election. I think they both need time take a nap and and a deep breathe, figure out where they are and what's next.

Heck, I think we all need a couple days to calm down and cool down too. I think I'm going to forgo blogging tomorrow and go shoe shopping or some other ridiculously mindless activity.

But I do realize that DEMOCRATIC America has to be feeling like the Eli and Peyton Manning's parents when they have to watch an NFL play off game between their sons.

In the beginning of this immensely long primary there was so much joy and hope amongst ALL democrats. We were going to CHANGE things, but good, by god! And so we eliminated all of the "standard candidates" almost immediately.

We left ourselves in an amazing position of having two GREAT candidates, both minorities in different ways. And we knew then that we were going to GET the change we so badly wanted.

We just never really realized the danger. That because these two candidates were different, were each special, each represented the hopes and dreams of millions. And every one of us wanted to fight tooth and nail, day and night, as hard as we could for our hopes and dreams.

And now a part of our problem is that an Obama supporters dream has to come at the expense of a Hillary supporters dream, or the reverse. Because there just can't be two democratic candidates running against McCain in November.

As an Obama supporter, I respect Hillary's supporters. I respect HRC, she ran a hell of a campaign, facing down sexism, and Bill's mouth (sorry, but that guy has hoof and mouth disease sometimes.), and grueling days, and endless nights, and the rollercoaster of victory, defeat, victory again.

Just as I hope HRC supporters can respect Obama supporters. And can hopefully respect Obama too. He ran a hell of a campaign, facing down racism, the Rev. wright's mouth (another hoof and mouther if ever there was one.), and grueling days, and endless nights, and the rollercoaster of victory and defeat, and victory again.

This primary was closer than any other, ever.

We, the bruised and confused democratic voters, can recognize that this was a clash of TITANS from which, regretably only one can emerge a winner, and make this into the most AMAZING primary ever, that leads on to the most amazing democratic WIN in November.

Or we, the bruised and confused democratic voters, can decide that it was a petty and unfair contest of petty and unfair politicians, and can make this into the most DIVISIVE primary ever, that leads directly to the WORST LOSS in democratic history.

But this is up to us. Not Clinton. Not Obama. US.

We have to find a way out of our own anger and into our future. And heck, take a few days, I plan to.

Nins, WELL STATED. EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD READ YOUR POST AND REALIZE A SIMPLE YET IMPORTANT FACT. UNDER PRESSURE PEOPLE SHOW THEIR TRUE SELF AND THEY DID.
OBVIOUSLY WITH HILARY, IT IS NOT ABOUT THE NATION AS MUCH AS IT IS ABOUT HER WINNING.

  • Posted By: Nor-Cal for Obama @ 06/04/2008 12:45:51 AM

    I'm very proud today.

What a speech. What a great president Obama will be. I've gotten calls from 4 US friends living abroad and in the UK to Finland, they are toasting the US with much a sigh of relief as a warm pat on the back. Today will be the day Americans really start to come together and start the repairs.

    • Posted By: Nins @ 06/04/2008 1:35:41 AM

      YES !!!

      Thank you, Nor-Cal

  • Posted By: Nins @ 06/04/2008 1:32:54 AM

    Three speeches were given tonight.

McCain said "I am not the same as Bush." He also said "I will make you safe, and you should be very, very afraid of the changes Obama is talking about, because Obama will make you unsafe." He SAYS he is different than Bush, and then pulls out the same worn and faded fear card, thinking we are stupid enough to fall for it again. He also set himself up as a "friend" of Hillary Clinton, in a way that was obviously pandering for the votes of her supporters.

Clinton talked about herself non-stop for her entire speech, sending up her victory in South Dakota, repeating her spurious claim of being ahead in the popular vote, and refusing to concede the race. She gave the kind of speech she would have given had she won the nomination, talking about what she plans to do for the country once she takes office. She barely mentioned Obama, completely avoided the fact that he had won the nomination, and tried to stir up the ire and anger of her supporters.

Obama took the stage and praised Clinton as an able politician and a tough fighter, who has devoted her life to helping the American people. He even thanked Hillary for making him a better candidate. And he made it clear that she would have a place in his cabinet working on health care. Beyond that, he gave a stirring speech about how great America is, and how we are going to solve our current problems and become the best nation we can be, returning to our status as leaders of the free world. He spoke of his admiration for Senator McCain, even as he disagreed with McCain's policies. He spoke warmly of his opponents, and never once talked about himself.

McCain tells you "You should be very afraid!"

Hillary says "It's all about me, me, me!"

Obama says "We all have something good to offer. Let's work together to change our nation for the better."
