    Comment: WOW! Where do I start? Ok, first off, John McCain did not enlist to "fight in Viet Nam", he did what his daddy told him to do. He was was a poor student, who spent most of his time drinking, and soliciting prostitutes. His lack of interest in an education, or desire to truly apply himslef to his training was made obvious when in ONLY 20hrs of "combat" (not real combat, on the ground face to face) after ONLY 20hrs of "combat" he was shot down, not while doing any heroic act, but because he SUCKED AS A PILOT, you see in his feeble 20hrs of "combat" he ad also crashed 5 jets prior to being shot down.
    He DID do over 30 propaganda films for the VC, so you're WAY off there. According to the 2 American commanders in the camp the same time as McCain, ther was NO torture, McCain was brought in in bandages and a body cast, which was more than any other prisoner was given. He received such treatment because the first thing the COWARD said when he was captured was "my daddy's an Admiral!"

    He as turn his back on the nations POWs to whom he swore he would NEVER use his "POW" status for political gain...what was that tour he did just last summer?

    He turned his back on our sons and daughters fighting now when he did not even have the courage to show up to vote AGAINST the new GI BILL which supports our troops fighting these wars, and their families, why does he hate our troops?

    As for his kids "serving" their a$$es should be on the front lines until it's over and the last American is home, period, daddy wants our kids to die for OIL, his should be the first to go, anything less than that is just more political theatre. Yeah he had a son in Iraq, in the green zone, NEVER left the green zone, and was a clerk, ONLY, remember "CLINGER"...lol

    He is NO HERO, NO MAVERICK, nothing but an old man clinging to false glory and Bush "values".

    I think that about covers it. Doubt me google his millitary record son, you'll see what a real coward he truly is, and a liar, and anti-American troops, yet pro "WAR FOR OIL"...(McCains words on 05/03/08)

    In a very strange way I feel sorry for you. Your words and their obvious lack of journalistic integrity have been seen around the globe. You are now known as an adult man who has a pathologic fondness for a man who is a complete fraud. This will be borne out in his first month when he gets challenged by Iran or Hamas or anything that requires action. That is, if Wright the crazy airbag sellout doesn't break free from his Nation of Islam captors before the inauguration. And you have revealed yourself to be a petty misogynist whose words bely his fear of powerful women. (Props for dropping the sexually ambiguous semicolons.)

    Do you know how many voters you have turned away from Obama? Clinton supporters who will never forgive your evil words on his behalf and Obama supporters who witnessed how he stood by and let his opponent get bashed day after day--especially by you and the rest of the NEWSWEEK messianic adulators: HIRSCH, THOMAS, WOLFFE, FINEMAN and MEACHAM.

    What are you going to do now that you have to actually write something meaningful?

    Are you proud of yourself? Of your words? Will your granddaughters be proud of you and your words? You have forever tarnished your whatever. I don't know how you used to write--I just started reading during the primary--but I hope it was something worthwhile. As for this? Just more of the same. There is too much crap to bother with. This is enough: "He doesn't lie or even do much stretching of the truth to suit his purposes." You and I both know that is a lie in itself. You watched him on March 14 lie on Olbermann. I saw your face and hung head. Your body language is as obvious as Obama's. His right eye twitched when he said he respected Senator Clinton. And why isn't his grandmother talking to him anymore? Because he made up the story about his WWII veteran uncle? Because he is talking about his grandfather's WWII service? Because he lied about his mother being on food stamps? Because he didn't even mention his mother in his speech? Says it all. I guess he really does hate his mother's race. He wasn't even at her side when she died. Oh yeah, he's totally cool.

No one has talked abou how Clinton reconciles her supposed Feminist position with the fact that she spent much of her time in the 90's on "Bimbo Eruption" patrol, impugning the integrity (you notice a pattern here) of any woman who spoke up about her husband's sexual harassment. Obama never brought up Clinton's dirt, and he gave her a pass on all of her gaffes, yet she jumped all over his every honest misstatement and blamed him for stuff that he didn't do and had absolutely no control over (her statement belittling MLK's importance to the civil rights movement, which is also where I believe she began to lose the bulk of the black vote, was somehow blamed on Obama when he didn't make the statement and he didn't even make a fuss about it. Obama was far fairer to her than she was to him, and the complete lack of logic or any foundation to his detractors' claims to the contrary truly makes me leary about the electorate in this country.

    1. Barack Hussein Ossama is Black.

    Comment: I have a suggestion for all the Clinton supporters who say they are going to vote for McCain. Go to the following website address for the Wall Street Journal:

    At the top of the page, you'll see cartoon charcters of McCain and Obama along with a link that says "See An Interactive Graphic." If you click on that link you'll see a very easy to read summary on the differences between McCain and Obama on various topics. Remember, with the excpetion of health care, Clinton's polilcies are very similar to Obama's. Even on health care, Obama's policy is closer to Clinton's than McCain's.

    Try to take a moment and put aside any emotional response and read the differences for each topic. When you're finished, ask yourself objectively and without emotion who's policies you agree with more. If the answer is Obama, then try to at least keep an open mind as the campaign plays out. With emotions still high, no one expects you to endorse Obama at this point - just try to keep an open mind and focus on the policies rather than the personalities, because that is really what is most important.

    Just a suggestion.

We know so little about Obama that we cannot truly know, for instance, whether or not he would have voted differently on the authorization to inspect and invade Iraq. His history in politics shows a very different leadership style than his supporters want to project now. He avoided taking stands on many critical issues during his public service. They are to young, too uninformed, and too lazy to even know that some all of the "s**t they threw against the wall" stuck and they think the rumor and innuendo about Hillary was an honest assessment of who she was and is. First, Hillary would make a much better President than Bill was and how good was he? Well, I would rate his accomplishments in office second to none. That's how good. Most of us who lived and worked under the Clinton Presidency would give almost anything to return to those heady days of peace and prosperity. Many of us will not go along with your false dream. We're either going to vote for McCain or sit this one out. Obama is too inexperienced to step into this most important role right now. He would damage not only our economy but he would either rush to remove the troops from Iraq or go back on his word. In either case he would be making a mistake.

David Shuster's statement that Chelsea was "pimping for Hillary" with virtually no consequence or public outrage shines a light on the rampant sexism that permeated this campaign. Also, the flawed DNC primary system that allowed such a small minority of voters to determine the nominee combined with the Hill-hating media. If my feedback from other Dems is any indication, he's toast. McCain is weak and this was the Dems to lose. Well, I think they have managed that.     Comment: I wish to point out something. I have studiously avoided the subject of race in weeks of blogging, a new sport that I enjoy very much. But I would like to say something about old white men and racial prejudice. I am an old white man who grew up in the south and attended segregated schools. I rode on city buses which had signs dividing the front of the bus from the back, and designated them white and colored. Public restrooms and water fountains were designated white and negro. I lived a childhood devoid of association with black people. When you are born and raised in this, it seems normal.
    Then, in elementary school, I began to see posters with Eleanor Roosevelt's picture and words, which I cannot remember totally, which encouraged the elimination of racial prejudice, especially against black people who were in those days called negroes. This caused me to pay attention and try to see what was afoot. There wasn't much help from the adults who were content with the status quo, but we kids would occasionally discuss it and start to question why things should remain so.
    Then, I was drafted into the Army in the early fifties not long after Harry Truman had integrated the military. My association with black people began. It was an awakening and and a welcome expansion of a narrow life. From those days to now, I have never ceased to seek and find all remnants of that old prejudice and eliminate each one as found. The older people who were not successful in eliminating their prejudices died one by one and were buried with those problems.
    I have numerous friends and associates my age with similar backgrounds and I can confidently say that whoever thinks that all old white men are prejudiced against black people is sadly mistaken. Some of these are former republican conservatives and some were just plain conservative without political connotation. We are about 80% fans of Barack Obama and we regularly send him donations over the internet. Those who disagree with us do not do so on racial grounds.
    So, that's it. I won't say any more about race, but I thought that someone should say this to indicate that things are not so black and white as it is popular to believe.
