Hawaii08 makes no sense and claims to be bi-racial. She thinks she understands black people. If you read her comments, she sounds like Harriet Christian.

    • Posted By: Hawaii08 @ 06/05/2008 12:06:12 PM

I don't claim to be bi-racial stupid... I am... white mother, black father, and I sound like me, you sound like all the other morons out there.... and you claim to have a clue... get real! You know, like I said... watch and PRAY! Of course if you're this IGNORANT now, you won't see it when it slaps you in the face. Seek counseling....

      • Posted By: Luridmoon @ 06/05/2008 4:52:19 PM

Yes, you are all knowing, Hawaii. Everyone else are morons... YEAH RIGHT it seems the most ignorant one on this thread is YOU. Hopefully you will never come back and this virtual community can heave a collective sigh of relief... But, sensing how pompous you are, you will be back to blab some more

      • Posted By: chindognyc @ 06/05/2008 12:18:14 PM

No Hawaii08, you sound like a very confused person. You want to talk about women rights and yet, you forget that blacks also fought for there right to vote. Women organization have been saying racial comments to describe Obama. You claim to be mixed and you should understand what your father went through along with the other black people that had to fight just to feel like a human being. That is why you sound crazy. Grow up and understand instead of being just like the others.

        • Posted By: Hawaii08 @ 06/05/2008 1:22:55 PM

Me confused? I didn't write anything about women's rights.... can you read little idiot? Secondly, like I said, I am bi-racial, married to a white man, have a German sister-in-law, ditto a Japanese, ditto a Korean, a Hispanic brother-in law. Not to mention that 7 of my siblings are black, 9 are white, and 5 of us are bi-racial, due to multiple marriages with my parents. So I don't give a horse's patootie what you think, and I'm not going to continue arguing with someone who calls themself "dog", ! Yeah, you're cool and not confused at all. That would be like my daughter tattooing "b_tch" on her arm and thinking it was cool. So go bark elsewhere "Dog". Secondly, whatever my father may have gone through is old news. And what would you know about that? People need to stop trying to hold the 21st century responsible for OLD issues. Last comment to your ignorant butt, "Watch & See".

Also, you claim to be bi-racial, I don't think you are! I think you are one of these women organization who would say anything to influence the Obama supporters.

I doubt very serious that anything was given to Obama, face it the better candidate prevailed! Be real with yourself and determine why Obama triumph over Hilary, who is also a good candidate.

And most of all, we???ve lost faith that our leaders can or will do anything about it.
But it is because of their failures that this moment of challenge is also a moment of opportunity. We have a chance to bring the country together in a new majority - to finally tackle problems that Washington has ignored for too long. And that is why the same old Washington textbook campaigns just won???t do in this election.

Please keep in mind that a lot of the "Clinton Bashing" that appears on these threads does NOT come from Obama supporters. It appears that a good portion of these vitriolic posts are coming from the "Right" in an effort to keep things stirred up and push Hillary's supporters toward McCain.

Keep it in mind! They absolutely know they are having a profound effect.

    • Posted By: loriw @ 06/05/2008 4:12:56 PM

i have to disagree, I think the Clintons underestimated the voters like my children who grew up in the Clinton administration years and learned there are some Presidents that are just plain immoral and badly behaves. Guess what....my children and others are now voting along with me for a President that future generations can look up to as a national hero (as apposed to the one we had that felt he could do no wrong in the White House). My daughter is married and takes a dim view, as I do, on adultery and a woman that would tollerate it. Hello...Clintons there's a new generation out there voting.....

      • Posted By: tracyruns262@netscape.net @ 06/05/2008 4:45:14 PM

And as a married woman w=you understand that JOB PERFORMANCE IS NO WAY TIED to MARITAL PERFORMANCE.... WTF does Hillary's HUSBAND'S infidelity have to do with HER candidacy. HOW do you know how YOU or YOUR DAUGHTER would take Infidelity??? Has it ACTUALLY happened???? And AGAIN what does HER decision to forgive HER husband have to do with YOU?

  • Posted By: mcleodmn @ 06/05/2008 1:36:03 PM

You have two choices for president:

The first one has one of the longest lines of political experience in history. He is exceedingly popular in congress. He also volunteered to defend the our country in the US Navy.

The second one has no real political experience outside of Illinois. He is tall and lanky with big ears. He even lost a few of his first attempts at gaining political office. He is an excellent speechwriter and orator. He is a good attorney and has a successful law practice.

So which one would you choose?

This is a trick question because both were already Presidents of the United States. The first one is the 15th President of the United States, James Buchannan. He is the President who mired us in the Civil War by declaring the action illegal but doing nothing when the south decided to seceed from the Union. He is largely considered by historians as being the worst President in American history.

He was followed by the other man who became the 16th President of the United States: This man is credited with the end of slavery, the end of the Civil War, and unification of the nation. He became president at a dark time when our country was deeply divided over very polarizing issues. He had no experience in Washington prior to his Presidency. His name was Abraham Lincoln and he is widely considered by historians as one of the best Presidents in American History.

    Sound familiar?

      Good analogy

      • Posted By: Evax @ 06/05/2008 2:56:21 PM

By analogy, you can also label Obama as the incarnation of Jimmy Carter by lack of experience. Do we want another Carter whose best achievement is to wreck a helicopter in a Middle East desert. By another analogy, you can label Barack Hussein Obama as the incarnation of Saddam Hussein by name; overall, they both are Husseins. In reality, these analogies are nonsense. Everyone is different. What scares us about Obama is his long-term association with evil people. When he got married under a pair of evil hands and baptized his children under a pair of evil hands, most likely he is also evil regardless of the mask. Can we take the risk to elect a quasi-terminator who may be programmed to lie and licensed to kill?

        • Posted By: Ewok @ 06/05/2008 4:44:53 PM

Evax by your reasoning of why you are scared of Obama - I guess I'm automatically a child molester because I was baptised and confirmed in a Catholic Church?

    • Posted By: Pherdnut @ 06/05/2008 1:50:16 PM

Yeah, that really struck me as a serious argument when you touched on the tall, lanky, big-eared comparison. If you're going to support Obama, try sticking to the present. Let the media make the Lincoln/Kennedy comparisons as its already lost all credibility.

    • Posted By: Jaxs @ 06/05/2008 1:42:28 PM

The career politician hasn't worked for MANY years. We need something new and an old man isn't new. McCain is just more the same bs and would be 4 more years of Bush/McCain blunders.

Second....a comment to the media - please stop pigeon-holing the voters. I'm a middle-aged white woman, no college education, grew up in the south, and have been an Obama supporter all along. Some of us can - and do - read. Just an FYI.

I liked Hillary, I think she would have made a great president. I am a black woman who like a lot of black people were going to vote for Clinton because I am still not convinced that Obama can win in a general election. But then the media and SOME Democratic party leaders started disrespecting the black vote, as if it was a Democratic voting bloc that didnt matter. Race was interjected way too much into this primary, first it was is he black enough, then it was oh look, the majority of Black people are voting for him, then it was jeepers, some people say race is a deciding factor in their vote, uhh, I am so sick of it, its as if the White Al Sharpton is in charge of the media. The only people to blame are Michigan and Florida leaders, they really messed up. Hillary probably would have won if those states voted early February and counted, but THEY acted like they were owed something, broke the rules and while I agree you cant fully count their delegates, if leaves an asterick on the campaign, it was so messy what they did, they should have their superdelegates stripped of votes in those states, they are the reason Hillary lost, and I feel bad for the voters of those states.

    • Posted By: The "O" Team @ 06/05/2008 4:12:30 PM

I AM FROM MICHIGAN AND THERE WAS NO MIX UP... HILLARY THOUGHT THAT SHE HAD THE "FIX" IN BECAUSE THE GOVENOR OF MICHIGAN WAS PROMISED A CABINET POST... THIS IS ONE TIME THAT I THINK THE CLINTONS BEING UNDERHANDED SCUMBAGS, ACTUALLY WORKED FOR GOOD:)

    • Posted By: Pherdnut @ 06/05/2008 2:37:09 PM

Hillary wouldn't have the lead in delegates if she were given 100% of them from both states and you want to argue that she would have done better if they'd voted after her popularity started to wane and with Obama's name on Michigan's ballots?

      • Posted By: isis5632 @ 06/05/2008 2:51:39 PM

Your argument depends on whether they held election pre or post bittergate and the Wright fiasco. Neither would have won with pledged delegates, but the race would have been closer and she would have had a better argument with the superdelegates who ultimately decided the nomination

        • Posted By: Jaxs @ 06/05/2008 3:52:37 PM

Is that all you have the bittergate and wright issues? If you look at current and past candidates, many of them have had a lot more issues to deal with than that. All you have to do is look at the Clintons - they have a laundry list of problems.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 06/05/2008 4:12:27 PM

Think, health care plan for your children, think of your future. McCain will give you the same old politics. We need change in Washington. Vote for Obama. He won't help to overturn Roe v Wade!

This article is spot on. That undercurrent of entitlement did her in. We, the hoi polloi, can sense these things. We can also sense the excellence in Obama. The organization was immaculate. His personal delivery is sincere. He's got the active brain that the oval office hasn't seen for nearly eight years, now, and things just add up as he goes forward. We are in for one of the greats. You can sense it. There will be a place for Hillary. Lots of talent. She'll be extremely effective somewhere in there. I worried about her all the while because of the way that she bobbled the ball, hanging on too long back there as first lady, when she might have improved our medical care. Lost it all. That stubborn streak didn't portend well for the big oval office. The one we've got in there now is terribly disabled with that same stubbornness disease, and the country has suffered for it.
