You know...Michelle Obama is a pretty tough, intelligent, well spoken lady who is a pretty independent and progressive thinker. I'm not sure why women voters are so alarmed by Obama. I think that he has a tremendous amount of respect for his wife and I don't think he would put policies in place or make an effort stop the agenda for women's equal rights moving forward. If there was anything like that, I have the feeling that Michelle Obama would probably take him to task.

I am all for women's rights and I would ultimately like to see universal equality regardless of race, gender, creed, or anyother discriminatory factor. Having said that; I'm not sure what the opposite term for misogynistic is, but it appears that some of the more radical feminists just hate men and try to blame their personal shortcomings in life on the idea of 'men.' I even had a college professor that made it a career of making causal connections between why she couldn't excel in her life and why it was men's fault. Again...take accountability. Hillary, Nancy Pelosi, Claire Mccaskill and many other women have all done well based on their merits. Sitting around and complaining about what you don't have doesn't do anything, but incite divisions. If you want something in this world go earn it and while you're doing that try to bring us together as a society, not divide us.

I am getting really tired of hearing Clinton people say that she lost because the superdelegates abandoned her. She lost because she had fewer pledged delegates. He had more pledged delegates. Winning is winning and losing is losing, even if it is by 1 point. She ran a bad campaign and she lost, end of story. If she had won and became POTUS, would we see her whining when Amadinajead was "mean" to her or when Kim jong il "didn't share his toys". A pres needs to be able to handle the pressure and when she was criticized she blamed everyone else but herself. I am a woman and I will gladly vote for Obama.

This is very interesting... i think there are many reasons why Senator Obama won, and a lot of good points are here www.urbanthoughtcollective.com too... the black community has a lot to say about this, and not all what we may expect.

He won because of his message of change period. He gives us hope. I cried when he won. I am 47, white, college educated, and female.

Iakavous are you illiterate? The article didn't blame the media as much as it blamed her campaigning policies for being clumsy and inept. Learn to use proper punctuation if you ever feel like coming off as intelligent. Lord knows, you're another George W. Bush in the making... ignoring whatever is presented to you and blindly forging on with your point regardless of coherence or worth.

Hah, I was responding to the Hillary fighters below and as for typos and such.....who cares, you get my point, I am blogging on 4 sites right now....and she did say the media has been unfair to her and all of her supporters are chiming in as well .......lets refrain from name calling and mend some fences heh...lol

Great article! Sums it up in a nutshell. Especially the "arrogant" and "entitlement" opinion points.

    A MUST READ, FOLKS!!!

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/iraq_usa_intelligence_dc

"President George W. Bush and his top policymakers exaggerated Saddam Hussein's links to terrorism and ignored doubts among intelligence agencies about Iraq's arms programs as they made their case for war, a Senate committee reported on Thursday.

The Senate intelligence committee said in a study that major Bush administration statements that Iraq had a partnership with al Qaeda and provided it with weapons training were unsupported by intelligence, and sometimes contradicted it."

THIS IS WHERE MCCAIN STANDS. THIS IS WHAT HE IS SUPPORTING!!!

It's a wrap, people!!!! For all Repubs out there unsatisfied w/ the GOP brand, vote LIBERTARIAN!!!

This is the first step of taking a womans right away. You Hillary lovers are really crazy if you think that voting for McCain is going to make you look good. Once he chooses judges that will overturn Roe v Wade, then you lost the first of many rights. This will not prove a point. It will just hurt you and other women who will feel like they fought for no reason. These women organization are not fighting for rights, they are spreading anger and telling people to vote for McCain for no reason.

...I also wonder what happend to the idea of having an internal locus of control. In other words, I control the world; the world doesn't control me. It seems like so many politicians want to blame their failures on everyone else and accept glory as their own doing. I have a lot of respect for John Edwards for his position on Iraq. Although I didn't agree with his initial vote, I am glad that he took accountability for his own actions. Good for him. Hopefully, with Obama in office and Edwards as his attorney general he they will be able to help create an environment where government won't be so scared to admit mistakes and the public won't be so quick to pounce.

(Sorry, just trying to bring a little bit of optimism back here.)

I must say that these 5 reasons are all nonsense and I wonder why the author didn't talk about them before the race was over.

If these reasons were true, Obama should be doing very well in the upcoming general election.

I f Obama loses 49 states in the GE, I hope the author will come out to admit that he was wrong as he had been wrong all the time.

    So, stay tune.

It's amazing how Hillary was even allowed to continue her ridiculous tirade, as it has been clear for several weeks that Obama would reach the magic number sooner, no matter how they tried to push it back. If the show was on the other foot, I wonder what the world would be saying about Obama--the world would probably be throwing tomatoes at him by now...

John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 06/05/2008 12:32:45 PM

To the women who said that they will vote for McCain, just remember Roe v. Wade. McCain already said he will have Justices that will review over that case. All your fight just to have it thrown in your face.

Yeeeaaahhh, it's all the medias fault. GOD forbid Hillary ran a crappy campaign, why thats unthinkable. By her own words "This will be over by Feb. 5th"......yeah those darn media guys....all their fault......who is that recent president who couldn't admit mistakes and take responsibility for his actions....hhmmm who was that.....oh well guess its not important, not like he destroyed our standing in the world, our economy, our army, our demestic job outlook, etc.....yeah lets get another one of those guys... thats what we need...

  • Posted By: somethingelse31 @ 06/05/2008 12:32:13 PM

I usually don't agree with everything a reporter says, but I can't fault anything here. You got it all right.

  • Posted By: ginger44 @ 06/05/2008 12:19:55 PM

I'm tired of the media, who during the entire campaign has been unapologetically biased for Obama, giving their 'analysis' of why things turned out the way they did now. Please - the end result was orchestrated by the media from the onset.

    • Posted By: pixiepunk @ 06/05/2008 12:31:32 PM

I agree with you 100%. It's was reported early on that the media were unfairly biased and this article by another Keith Olberman groupie is another example. I'm sick to death of the media. If Clinton had a Rev Wright in her closet of a Tony Rezko she would have been crucified. I still won't vote for Obama - ever!

Excellent synopsis and very well written. Thank you.

    FIVE REASONS WHY OBAMA WON AND FIVE REASONS WHY CLINTON LOST;
OBAMA'S - FIVE - FINGERS AND CILNTON'S - FIVE - FINGERS; THE FIRST TIME THEY CAME FACE TO FACE AND SHOOK HANDS, THE DEAL WAS DONE.

  • Posted By: gnomic @ 06/05/2008 12:11:33 PM

A well-written analysis! For me, Obama didn't win me over with promises that are likely not be be fulfilled so much as Hillary (and Bill) lost me with here GOP-like tactics and constant whining, excuses, and attempts to change the rules to thier advantage. In the end, she was acting to much like the current adminstration and lost my vote for President permanently. The big question remaining is will she learn from this and change or just keep up her bad behavior? If Obama is smart (and he is), I expect to see Hillary take Ted Kenedy's chair after this election to champion her causes -- if she gets behind the party and support Obama. Otherwise, she's a footnote in the long run.
