The corporate media gave us GWB's war and now they're giving us Obama the Boob. You people should be tried and executed for treason.

This is why we don't like the boob. His pawns reveal the true nature of his appeal. Hate this, hate that, throw some insults and act like a child.

Only hate this hate that i see is coming from you Repubs and bitter clintonites...Obama is above all that BS. he has a country to run...like it or leave it..your choice..tables are turning

Bitter Clintonites? These insults won't bring the Clintonites into the fold

            • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 06/06/2008 1:58:31 AM

It should only bug people who consider themselves "bitter Clintonites". If you are a non-bitter Clintonite, then there's no offense to be taken.

        • Posted By: Alvy @ 06/05/2008 1:33:16 PM

Hey stupid, couldn't BOOB be construed as childish hate? Idiot.
You must be a pawn huh stupid?

Yeah, BOOB, thats what Harvard Law School produces......BOOBS.......in summary, Hillary's campaign: Garbage in : Garbage out.....

  • Posted By: Cynthia of Naperville @ 06/05/2008 1:28:08 PM

Enough already! It's time for the Dems to come together! Hillary's supporters are so bitter becaue their candidate is bitter. She set the tone, and this is what it has produced.

Everybody needs to take a page from Obama's playbook and chill out. The guy is cool under pressure and smart as anybody in Washington. It's time to unite under a politician who genuinely seems to have America's best interest ahead of their own!

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 06/05/2008 2:30:39 PM

Hillary is not bitter. Her supporters are only as bitter as the insults Obama supporters hurl at them. What Hillary supporter would be more inclined to vote for Obama after reading your excerpt?

      • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 06/06/2008 1:55:46 AM

And you disprove his characterization of HRC supporters as bitter....by being bitter. That's smart. You proved his point.

  • Posted By: Daw912GA @ 06/05/2008 11:44:06 PM

Great analysis... People who are emotional always make excuses to why things happen. SHe underestimated her opponent as well as the voters. Americans have been divided far too long. The Clintons, Carl Rove and Rush are whats wrong with politics today. It had nothing to do with the fact that Hillary is a woman. It had everything to do with that woman being Hillary. Her negatives were too high. She divided the voters by race and gender, subliminally. And that was their intention. That was the only way she would be elected. Thats what they do. Play the politics of fear. Now she's trying to bully her way on the ticket. After all of the horrible things she and her husband did to try and destroy Obama. Which is what they do to all of their political enemies. She is a power hungry, meanspirited person. I started out as a Hillary supporter. But after the antics she and her husband dispayed in SC. I voted for Huckabee and he won my state(GA) I even changed my registration from DEM to Independent. Because I no longer wanted to be associated with a party that would condone such foul behavior. Now, Im undecided.

You can even go further back to the father of this issue, Richard Nixon...

    • Posted By: cferns1530 @ 06/06/2008 1:04:05 AM

hillary felt she was entitled to be the democratic nominee let alone president. for her claiming success due to her husband and backfiring on her on decisions of Iraq n Nafta she could not cover it. She could'nt even mention the new Russian president's name, called on extreme means for Iran and finally could'nt even concede defeat. She's the guest who won't leave.

    • Posted By: cferns1530 @ 06/06/2008 12:55:09 AM

right on! could'nt have said it better about hillary. she knows deep down once bill started his remarks, and she felt she was entitled to the democratic nominee let alone the presidency. obama kept his cool, when sh could'nt, and she did'nt even concede defeat...i guess the reality was hard to swallow.

  • Posted By: dbbtjmmc @ 06/05/2008 10:13:18 PM

You leave out the most important reasons he won and she lost: 3 solid months of media support for Obama and treacherous demeaning attacks on Hillary.

    • Posted By: cbaker31222 @ 06/06/2008 1:33:14 AM

Amen to that. My mom, who is a Republican, said she had never seen such biased coverage in all her 67 years. I haven't either.

who in the hell cares about roe v wade ... it's just like Obama talking all day about lobby reform ... no one cares about that either ... and this from our fearless leader ... we are screwed

    • Posted By: Nins @ 06/06/2008 1:07:51 AM

Vakosh, I care VERY MUCH about Roe vs. Wade and VERY MUCH about lobbyist reform.

Since Mimi so eloquently discussed Roe vs. Wade below, I will tell you why we need lobby reform. There are 5,000 lobbyists for EVERY SINGLE member of Congress. These lobbyists make six-figure salaries by trying to manipulate the legislation and the votes of our politicians. The politicians are at their mercy, not only because they need the lobby money for campaigns, but because a lobbyist can run a smear campaign against a Senator and cost them their job. Our laws are being made for the benefit of the few large corporations who can afford to lobby. This is a travesty. Do you ever hear the phrase "Government of the people, by the people, for the people"? FOR THE PEOPLE, not for the corporations.

And in case you thing I'm pushing some kind right wing conspiracy theory, you should know that I am a CEO and I used to be very much in favor of tax cuts for corporations, lobbying and the whole nine yards, because I strongly believed in the trickle down theory. The trickle down theory says that if you have economically healthy corporations, that wealth will trickle down to the little guy and to all the worker bees, and America will remain strong and secure. That worked for the past 100 years. But it no longer works, because with outsourcing of so many jobs and factories overseas, the trickle down is trickling into the economies of India and China and Mexico. It no longer trickles into the USA. Yet these "American" corporations continue to benefit from the tax cuts, the industry deregulation and the other favors Bush has paid to the corporate world.

Now, as we face an almost insurmountable National Debt, the lobbyists are working overtime to make sure that they keep their stranglehold over American lawmakers, and keep our hand tied so we can't break free.

Barack Obama has the balls (and it takes big ones) to stand up to all this chicanery, and throw these criminals out of Washington.

      God Bless Barack Obama.

Well. . . since the strongest of Hillary's supporters are post-50, white women, my assumption is that they care -- and care very much. You see, we women of a certain age remember all too well when a woman who wanted to end a pregnancy contacted someone she didn't know, was picked up on a street corner and wisked to a place she never knew, where the procedure took place, often on the floor of a vacant apartment or office. Then she was sent home with two asprin and a Kotex pad. I'm past the age where this is a personal problem, but I assume that there are still young women who feel the need to terminate an early pregnancy because of age, or health, or finances or for reasons that are really no one's business but her own. I can't believe that those women, the Hillary supporters, the women I went to school with, and started my career with, and stood up for at their weddings as they stood up for me, then congratulated each other on the beloved and wanted children we brought into the world would EVER want to go back to the primitive conditions pre-1970. It is only because women under 50 have always known that they have safe medical care to turn to, if they needed it, that let's them undersetimate the value of Roe v. Wade. That's why I can't believe, when faced with the choice in the voting booth in November, that any woman who considers herself to be a feminist , who champions the rights and values opportunities for women, will ever, ever pull the lever for John McCain and set back women's rights in this country more than 4 decades.

    • Posted By: soniamiranda640@hotmail.com @ 06/05/2008 8:43:55 PM

I cannot believe that you actually think that no one should care about Roe vs Wade or lobby reform...Where are you from ...Mars? It is this mentality that has us in the state we are in. Educate yourself.

  • Posted By: TheEnabler @ 06/06/2008 1:06:18 AM

To all the Hillary supporters who say they would rather vote for Mccain than Obama as protest, I hope you have looked at the issues carefuly. McCain is against government funding of birth control and sex education; his opposition included a vote against spending $100 million to reduce teen pregnancy by education and contraceptives. He opposes the federal minimum wage. On January 24, 2007, he voted to repeal it. McCain is against publicly-funded health care, universal health care, or health coverage mandates, instead favoring tax credits of up to $5,000 for families that get health insurance. He also wants to put judges into the Supreme Court to overturn the right to have an abortion, as well as other issues. And the list continues. This time next year it won't matter who lost the election in November, but what policies the winner is pushing for.

Sorry, I apologize Adtravels, I meant to type that fire for effect's comment was horribly racist. I agree with your reply to this sad individual.

  • Posted By: rainbow68 @ 06/05/2008 10:32:46 PM

Soldier1968, You are very important. Our men and women, past and present, who have fought on our behalf are precious. to us. Please don't misunderstand feelings about the war having anything to do with bad feelings about you. You are appreciated. You are not forgotten.

    • Posted By: Nins @ 06/06/2008 12:35:17 AM

I copy that at least a million times.

I have total respect for our soldiers, even though I am against the war in Iraq.

We should never again make the mistake we made after Vietnam, and blame the hard-serving veterans for the sins of our politicians.

  • Posted By: DrKendallA @ 06/06/2008 12:34:34 AM

    (adtravels=racist). Yes. Moving on...

  • Posted By: Bubbette @ 06/06/2008 12:32:45 AM

I agree with all of your comments about Hillary. The only excuse I would allow her (since she came up with so many on her own) is: all of her constituents and the press kept saying what a "fighter" she was, so she didn't know when to give up.

  • Posted By: obgood55 @ 06/05/2008 11:57:47 PM

I am ... was ... a HRC supporter. She is an intelligent and competant public servant and would have made a fine president. I certainly grieve for her and women in general at her lost opportunity (there will be others) . I agree totally with your assessment of where she went wrong. What I don't understand is why HRC supporters are taking their anger out on BO (he has been very professional the entire race .. I am also concerned about his ability to attract conservative leaning democrats) ... I would hope that we would all calm down, remember that BO and HRC have very similar priorities and make sure that a democrat is elected this fall. Will the angry among you really be happy with McCain's policies (continuing a policy of forcing democracy on countries who are not ready for it at enormous costs of our sons/daughters lives, trillions of dollars better spent fixing health care/infrastructure/retooling our work force for inevitable competition from China and India/shoring up Medicare/Social Security etc. Assuming many HRC supporters are also Pro Choice ... I remind you all that JM has all but promised to appoint conservative leaning judges -- there may be 3-4 appointments in the next 4-8 years. I think HRC would be the last person who wants us all to switch to JC in the fall.

    • Posted By: Nins @ 06/06/2008 12:32:21 AM

I agree with you entirely. Hillary would HATE the idea of her supporters voting for McCain.

  • Posted By: DrKendallA @ 06/06/2008 12:30:54 AM

Wow, to the last post... I don't even know what to say. What a racist. Moving on...

  • Posted By: adtravels @ 06/06/2008 12:14:56 AM

Great analyses of the the HRC Ordeal. BO is such a balanced and tempered man, mixed with a great
deal of humility. If he was driven by his ego (as she is) he certainly would not rushed to meet her
tonight), however, in the interest of the party, and the country it was a great thing to do. Certainly, its time
for America to begin to practice operating in a Higher Consciousness and BO is certainly the better
Candidate to move the Country in that direction, not just to end the war, but to raise the consciousnes
of the american people to not have a need or desire for war. Humanitarian efforts at home and in the
world is where we will focus on. Change is good.

  • Posted By: paulte @ 06/05/2008 11:33:32 PM

Well, it looks like HRC is finally going to concede the nomination. How nice of her! And she has disavowed the VP push by some of her supporters. At this point she is a distraction. She'll play the game and endorse him and encourage her supporters to vote for him. But don't expect any real campaigning by the Clintons for him. It should be borne in mind that Democrats don't do very well in Presdiential elections. Now they are fielding a black candidate who couldn't win a Democratic primary in Puerto Rico. That says a lot. Obama doesn't do well with Hispanics. He is not likely to get 40% of the white vote, so he will need to compensate by doing very well with the Hispanic vote. If he wants to win the Presidency, he'll have to learn to speak Spanish!

  • Posted By: Daw912GA @ 06/05/2008 11:31:25 PM

You took the words right off of my scroll. I was a Hillary supporter. She lost me after the SC primary. I never realized how vicious the Clintons were until SC. I voted for Huckabee and he won GA. As the campaign went on, I realized I should have supported Obama. The Clintons and the Carl Roves and Rush are exactly what's wrong with politics today.

  • Posted By: hold2file @ 06/05/2008 10:48:18 PM

Could someone please do an analysis of alcoholism and the Presidency much like Gail Sheehy's scouring of Gary Hart. For anyone who has read Melody Beatty's book "Codependent No More" the "denial of reality" behavior of BOTH Bush #43 and Bill Clinton is unmistakable.

  • Posted By: Esvee @ 06/05/2008 10:48:13 PM

He hit the nail on the head here, especially with the cool comment. Organizations or businesses that are focussed on problem solving, have a culture of open discussion and do not tolerate drama queens are just that much more effective.

Many might disagree with Obama's views, question his honesty or not even like him all that much, but if nothing else it indicates the extreme competence and professionalism he would bring to the presidency.

  • Posted By: hold2file @ 06/05/2008 10:46:13 PM

Excellent and accurate analysis. Thank you. And GOOD BYE Hillary and Bill.

  • Posted By: tjirish34 @ 06/05/2008 10:35:15 PM

Excellent analysis. One of reasons I have heard Hillary and her spporters argue for her over Obama is experience vs his lack of experience. However one of your quotes on why Hillary lost: "Clinton is responsible for personnel decisions; her poor judgment of people, overemphasis on loyalty and testy reaction to anyone delivering bad news made her slow to recognize the need for a management shakeup." This quote is why I had doubts on how good a President she would make. Reading that quote does that not sound like our current President. When people in charge react testily to bad news. Subordinates hesitate in bringing bad news to them. Also the cool comment about Obama. Where treating people with disrespect would not be tolerated in the campaign was heartening. Hillary supporters can complain. I saw a blogger poster call Obama supporters delusional and anti-American. I can tell you from my heart that i lve tthe US of A and think Obama is the better choice then Hillary at this preesent poiltical time. Did anyone see McCain's speech tuesday night in front of that ugly green backdrop? His forced smiling is a put off. Contrary to some views posted. I think Obama is going to win in November. He is not facing Ronald Reagan. McCain is not a great candidate. I wish he had won in 2000. Bottomline is if Obama wins and flops. You can all vote him out in 4 years. You put up with Bush for 8 years. Why can't you put up with 4 years of Obama? What if he does turn out to be a good President? As for Tony Rezko ties. That is amusing after seeing American Experience's docu on Truman. Truman was elected to Senate because of support from one of the most corrupt political machines in the country. The Kansas Pentegrast machine. The key for Truman was he kept his integrity and was able to rise above how he got elected. Truman then stamped out corruption in US Government. History is always fascinating when you look back and see the same points made today that were used then. Too Bad Bush didn't look at Vietnam's history before he invaded Iraq.

Quote: Both Clintons were so far inside their own narcissistic bubble that longtime friends didn't dare tell her to quit in recent weeks because they knew she would never speak to them again. Hillary was surprised on the day after the last primary that even her most ardent supporters weren't standing by her anymore. "

From the DSM on Narcisism: "Individuals with this disorder have a grandiose sense of self-importance. They routinely overestimate their abilities and inflate their accomplishments, often appearing boastful and pretentious. They may blithely assume that others attribute the same value to their efforts and may be surprised when the praise they expect and feel they deserve is not forthcoming..."
