The media tried to derail his campaign(Rev. Wright, Michelle Obama, his church,etc), under reported his wins(i.e. Texas and Navada, Hillary has the popular vote, etc) and questioned his ability to lead(experience, the color of his skin"can a Black man be president? etc). No, the media has always been slanted based on race and gender and cleary favored Hillary.
I think the uneasiness lies with people who have to face(or who choose not to face) their own issues with race and who are unable to reconcile their own beliefs about white people being truly better/smarter than Black people. Now is the time to address this issue and to understand that Black people are truly equal and can do anything that White people can do. That is the only way for America to rid itself of this ugly disease called racism. People: move forward and deal with this race issue with honesty and stop thinking that one race of people are better than another. Remember: God has no color...

I struggle to understand the hullabaloo over Mr. Obama. As a black person living in America, I personally think it is a disgrace that folks rush to elevate a man who was complicit in the self-destruction of the black community. For 20 years he sat by and allowed trusting black folks to wallow in the self-defeatism dished out by Rev. Wright. This is the same defeatist thought that is echoed through the African-American community today. Where was the message of "HOPE & CHANGE"? Where was the "YES WE CAN" cry when it was needed most? Who better to transform that backward thinking group than someone unscathed by the 60s? Just think what could have been if Mr. Obama had shown a modicum of leadership (or at the very least walked away). But he did absolutely nothing! Just thinking of his non-action send chills through my bones and evokes a wellspring of sadness that will never be assuaged.

I am even more grateful today that I was blessed with parents whose vision have long transcended race. Failing that, I and siblings could have easily been among the causalities of the missteps and missed opportunities that were there for the taking after the Civil Rights era. The selfless action by Martin Luther who paid the ultimate price is who should be lauded as being a hero "for all of us that have dreams and hope". That is, he did what was right without a single thought of the personal gains (or harm) to himself.

Finally, I would challenge every voter this November to think well on this and ask yourself if you could with a clear conscience give this man a pass - I cannot. For we become who we are by the folks we look to as heroes.

Obama is the FACE of the people who have invested millions to get him into the position he currently holds...an of course, he'll dance to whatever tune they play, they will be pulling the strings because he's been bought and paid for...Chicago style!!!! His worst nigtmare will be the public crucifixion of OBAMA by his dear old buddy, pal, mentor, uncle....Wright....he's made it clear that his pulpit days are not over...that was a ploy Obama used to user him out of his public life...Farrakhan and Wright are not that happy with the black boy they created for "THEIR USE"...to dismiss them so easily and think he's gonna start embracing his better, white side...FIREWORKS are just around the corner and we haven't seen anythign yet...TALK ABOUT BLACK ON BLACK CRIME>>>>IT"S GONNA BE A GREAT WATCH!!!

I looked at a mountain of pics from Tuesday's decisive night, and kept coming back to this one.

First, I appreciate the color of Michelle's dress, reprising -- at least to me -- the '04 conclusion that America (in contrast to the hyper-polarized red state/blue state dichotomy Perpetuated by the Media) is actually a lot more purple.

I also appreciate Michelle's proud, private, knowing, understated, intimate and unselfconscious expression, as well as the lack of tension in each partner's body. Observing them these many months, it is evident to me that the Obamas' ability to remain so relaxed is a natural expression of confidence.

Mostly though, I tried (fruitlessly) to imagine John and Cindy or Bill and Hillary celebrating the impending nomination with a fist bump, illuminating the fact that, as much as anything, the gesture -- just like this outcome -- is truly a generational thing.

No matter who you are, no matter what you say, no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try you will not water this down, you will not dampen it's spirit nor will you ever be able to take this moment away from us. For this is truly our time.

I have a suggestion for all the Clinton supporters who say they are going to vote for McCain. Go to the following website address for the Wall Street Journal:

At the top of the page, you'll see cartoon charcters of McCain and Obama along with a link that says "See An Interactive Graphic." If you click on that link you'll see a very easy to read summary on the differences between McCain and Obama on various topics. Remember, with the excpetion of health care, Clinton's polilcies are very similar to Obama's. Even on health care, Obama's policy is closer to Clinton's than McCain's.

Try to take a moment and put aside any emotional response and read the differences for each topic. When you're finished, ask yourself objectively and without emotion who's policies you agree with more. If the answer is Obama, then try to at least keep an open mind as the campaign plays out. With emotions still high, no one expects you to endorse Obama at this point - just try to keep an open mind and focus on the policies rather than the personalities, because that is really what is most important.
