    Funny, during the primaries, it was shoved in our face Hussein was 1/2 White. After he "wins" the nomination he is suddenly "African American".
    So how was this a "milestone" with so much "whitey" in him?
    So, is he "black"?
    Or, is he "white"?

      He's biracial, Dr. Einstein - that means he is the offspring of TWO races - one white, one black.
      Some stories note this, most others refer to him as "black," since his father was Kenyan. Traditionally, demographers, sociologists and anthropologists defer to the race of the father as the defining choice but "biracial" is actually the correct term. But you had better alert Hillary, I think she may have overlooked this fact as something that she could have used against him in her "kitchen sink strategy.

      It's a milestone, my little "No Child Left Behind" non-attendee, because he is the first candiate with ANY "African American" ancestry whatsoever, to achieve this status...'k now??

          Seriously, is your IQ like, 14? Clinton is a Caucasian, that is, of or related to the groups and indigenous peoples and decendants of Europe and the immediate areas thereto. BOTH of Clintons parents were Caucasian, his grandparents were Caucasian, as almost certainly, were his great-and great-great grandparents. Thus, he CANNOT be "biracial." - get it?

          ummmm, chief? My race would also be the Caucasian race, we did not use the term "first black Prez" when refering to Clinton. This was a term of endearment, not a historically accurate fact, that the black community associated with Clinton...'k?

    Deep-eye; I could not agree with you more! I see so many comments from the HRC female supporters who appear to really be "groupies for HRC as a female" rather than supporting HRC for the "issues she believes in" [which are almost completely identical to Obama's]! Instead saying they are "FIRST AND FOREMOST A DEMOCRAT" and of course will 'vote democratic' in the GE, it appears they would prefer to "cut their noses off to spite their faces" and vote McSame who is now proposing a "cut in corporate tax to get the economy moving" while Obama has suggested reversing the Bush cuts to pay for spending on 'education and healthcare'. Despite our economy quickly running out of steam [at the risk of taking the rest of the world down with us as we fall], despite more conservative Supreme Court Justices, and despite the never-ending war in Iraq with more of our children being killed or maimed and plundered treasure [to say nothing of the lives of Iraqi's], these "groupies" feel they would definitely be so much better off with McSame as our new POTUS and they will therefore vote for him to "SHOW US HOW MUCH THEY BLAME OBAMA AND ARE ANGRY AS ALL GETOUT WITH HIM"!. That decision will mean they will "SUFFER" the consequences as well as the remainder of the country and makes so much sense if you are a "HRC groupie"! I am only left with two words for them, "GROW UP"! As a very old, Latino female who supported Obama and who loathes both Clintons, I am a DEMOCRAT FIRST and would NOT have liked it one little bit, but I would have "held my nose while pushing the button for HRC" had she been our nominee because that is what a TRUE DEMOCRAT does!

    McCain is seriously courting Sen. Clinton's supporters!

    Supporters of Sen. Clinton are correct in thinking that wining the white house will be much easier if we all come tother, which is what I pray for. But those that are considering and/or planning to vote for McCain out of anger that she did not win the nomination really need to remember that Sen. Clinton's and Sen. McCain's policies and views are 100% opposite (with the exeception of the gas tax holiday) while Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama's are very very similiar.

    Without your vote, there is a very good chance that we will not win the White House and if that happens you will be the cause of 4 more years of Bush's policy, thousands of more deaths of our young soldiers etc. If you vote for McCain and he wins, you will not have the right to complain, because he will be the president that you voted in. I am sure that Sen. Clinton would have a serious problem with that!

    Also I see that there are several new posters claiming to be Clinton supporters who are spewing the hate and racism against Sen. Obama while encouraging other Clinton supporters to support McCain, they are suspect. Please people we have to get past this nonsense the primaries are over. Clinton and Obama seem to be doing fine. We cannot allow McBush to get into the white house.

    There was an internal investigation of the Bush administration and they found and stated clearly that Bush, Cheney and the intelligence agencies embellished information and out right lied to us about the reasons for going to war. They also mentioned McCain in this. Did anyone see the Richard Clark interview and the segment on the investigation last night on MSNBC Countdown? If so please post the information and any links that you may find. Thanks

      Sjpersonal, in regards to your post, please allow me to enlighten Obama supporters who cannot understand why so many Hillary supporters, like me, will not vote for Obama in November.

      1) Some of us, Americans, put Country first and Party (a distant) second. The reason we will be voting for McCain is not "out of anger that Hillary did not win the nomination," it is because we cannot allow a rookie, unqualified, untested, left-wing puppet - of Kerry, Kennedy and Pelosi - become President. For countless Hillary voters the choices are: Hillary-1st and McCain-2nd. Obama is not an acceptable option.

      2) Obama's nonstop repetition of the inaccurate proposition that "a vote for McCain is a vote for Bush???s 3rd term" is wearing thin and losing traction. As a politician, McCain is his own man. He operates in a very independent fashion - as his track record of almost 4 decades shows.

      It would be much more accurate to characterize an Obama presidency as "Jimmy Carter???s 2nd term." That would mean an incompetent stewardship of the economy (highest inflation in half a century), and an exceedingly naive foreign policy administration (he lost Iran to the Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979 starting the Islamic Revolution with the take over of the US Embassy in Tehran and US citizens held hostage for 444 days! Carter's presidency was paralyzed - held hostage too? - until the day his term finished in January 20, 1981.

      While there may be a few pseudo-posters trying to create mischief, don't believe these represent most of what you read in this regards. There are literally millions of Hillary supporters who will be voting McCain. I see many of them around me every day. (Hillary's pleads to these voters to pull the lever for Obama will not be heeded.)

      4) If Olberman is your source of news, I'm afraid you are severely misinformed. MSNBC is a propaganda channel for Obama (not unlike FOX being a propaganda channel for the Republican Party.)

          Obviously, You did not read what 'All4America' wrote. Millions of Hillary supporters, have NO intention of voting for Obama and has listed a few of the reasons why. There is no reason for Obama supporters to get "bent out of shape - rude - or angry", because Obama does not measure-up to Hillary in our view. If you wish to recruit Hillary's supporters, calling them names (like Obama called Hillary names during his campaign), and posting things like 'get over yourselves' or 'the smarter ones of your group' will do nothing for you in that effort. If anything you just keep pushing more supporters over the other side.

          If the message of 'Change- we can belieive in' is what Obama and his followers want Hillary supporters to embrass, calling them whiners & crappers is a real strange way of greeting them home.

          Truth is most Obama bloggers are the ones that have been crapping on Hillary and her 'old white women' supporters, diminishing them, as if they don't count and don't matter towards Obama's end game. So now that these Hillary supporters turn to someone who has given them RESPECT and who has always given Hillary her due respect, the Obama supporters GET even more angry - more vial - more divisive?

          Do any of you have any peaceful relationships with family or friends or co-workers or even pets?

          Let me put it the simpliest terms: No matter what race, gender or religion you're from, if you keep beating your dog, one day it's either going to run away from you, bite you or die.

          Don't throw a tantrum, now is the time to find a solution to this problem, if you want half of those 17 million votes. I guess Obama finally needs to stop dreaming and hoping. His supporters can help by starting to step up to the plate, start sending him solutions to the very REAL problem he wil face in November.

            Obviously, I DID read the post. Obviously, you did not read mine or, you are incapable of comprehending it.
            Let me distill it down:

            1) The universe DOES NOT revolve around the Clintons - contrary to the belief system of the Klintonistas, astronomers and planetary scientists disproved this "theory" back in the 90s.
            2) We have all, every one of us, grown fatigued over this constant and shrill whine that eminates from Klintonistaville - "Well if Hillary lost, then I'm for McCain." This is sour grapes, pure and simple. Obama and Clinton are almost mirror images of each other on every major issue that faces us as Americans. They are infinitely more alike than dissimilar....'k? McCain's plans, vision and strategy are more of the same Bush failures of the past 8 years....'k?
            3) This whine is an excuse, not a reason NOT to vote for Obama. I have not heard a single intelligent explanation from 1 Klintonista as to how McCain is "better" than Obama - just more pouting and crying about "Now that Hill is out, I'm going for McCain."

            Get it now???

          Hey RAVEN - It's been a while I admit but did you forget? I will admit to being a redneck, but we've discussed my race before, remember? That's what brought me to these blogs to start with. But it was really no need to cut down a entire race of women because of my comment. We have far different views RAVEN, but I think all races have very beautiful women. I also think "beauty" consists of far more than a persons looks. Your comments could pretty much apply to any race couldn't it? I've seen blacks, latinos, Native, etc look the same as you describe.     This milestone is about redefining America, by bringing its people together by creating a new mainstream that includes all citizens; but this campaign will also create new minorities, not on the basis of race or religion but on the basis of political persuasion. These new minorities will begin a new chapter of American experience as they will unwittingly become the foundation of the mainstream; galvanising people of different races and religions who do not want to return to the politics of the past... so it is healthy and good for our emerging politics that these new minorities exist... ironically, their existance creates the binding force of the emerging majority... so I say to people let them have their say... allow them to shout as loud as they may for in the end they will only consolidate our new politics...     reason why Obama should not be elected. If there was just one reason not to elect Obama, it is because he gives encouragement and comfort to the Islamic terrorism. Muslim terrorism know no territorial boundary.. they are globally united by their religion and cause. ( An Iraqi muslim does not see himself as different from a Ireanian muslim or a Pakistani muslim or for that matter American muslim. Theya re brothers) . It is not Obama's middle name Hussein (though that may give pause to some Americans), it is his unwillingness to take up arms against Muslim nations. How can a person who sits in Rev Wright???s sermons (and hears about ???American chickens coming home to roost??? after 9/11) come out and say America???s attack on Afghanistan and Al-Qaida is justified. He never made a supporting statement about the war on Afghanistan. If he did so, he will have trouble with his Muslim friends. His comfort with Hamas encouraged one of his campaign staff to hold talks with Hamas before He was removed (of course for political reasons .. and will be back in his administration). His friendly behavior toward Iran and his trying to convince the American people that Iran is not a threat -- nuclear or otherwise. His dealing and association with people of middle eastern background ( Rezcko etc) or Muslim background ( Farrakhan). Also, his trying to hide and deny his Muslim upbringing.
    So my friends, we may need a candidate of change and a diversity candidate.. but Not this one .. Not Obama.

    Hillary made a great exit speech today. It emphasized more that the DNC ' chose ' the wrong person to be the candidate for President. Such a pity.

    Anyway, the Obamabots now have to get really good at kissing ass if they want those 18 million voters of their better half to vote for Obama in November. If they don't kiss ass really good then they can kiss Obama goodbye in November. Its just a kiss ass contest for the Obamabots now. Its gonna be fun to watch.

    The meaning of a Milestone-the DNC railroading (not even the underground railroad) this railroading was all over the news and up for public scrutiny....the DNC is pushing the first Affirmative Action (Black) president of this great country. Obama will be pulling our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq and sending them to hostile countries like Somalia. Save all the third world blacks will be his anthem.

    I do not like this "empty suit" - Obama will not go to Iraq and face our troops...the majority of the black troops will welcome him, some of the white, but our more informed soldiers (regardless of color) will realize that putting this man in charge of our country (Commander in Chief) and having his wife (in her "color purple dress) is a slap in the face to "really intelligent smart Americans".

    God help us through this delima....

    America should be congratulated... the nomination of senator Obama is a clear manifestation that America has moved beyond race, and if we are honest will must give credit to the white American majority as it is they who have allowed this progress... I also want to make the point that senator Obama did not win this nomination by standing a a black American, he won because he stood as a man, who just happens to be black... we all know that had he stood as a black candidate that the outcome may have been different... I congratulate senator Obama for having the courage to stand as a man and not a black man! It takes a brave man to rise above the rhetoric and symbols of the day; through his courage and foresight black people will achieve a new level of freedom, one that assures them that white Amercica can rise above race if blacks are prepared to leave it behind. I think there is a lesson here for Hilary Clinton and the voice of women she represents... she too should rise above the rhetoric and symbols that have hindered the progress of women... it should have never been raised as an issue in her campaign... It seems to me that this campaign has proved that by engaging in debate about political correctness that one only adds momentum which prolongs the route to the desired outcome... America is not racist, that is clear... black people must follow senator Obama's lead by not engaging in this discussion any longer... they must focus on connecting with white America, because clearly white America wants to connect with them... lets all grab this opportunity...         I'm laughing here. This is not socialist. Socialism is the re-distribution of wealth, whether necessary or not. Health care is a different issue. If it were even REMOTELY possible for these citizens to get health care, we would say go for it. But it has leaped out of the reach of people, and it is possible for us to put it within reach again without become socialists.

          Just exactly HOW is it possible with OUT the re-distribution of wealth? Taxing working people more, taxing BUSINESS more, (who just pass on the additional taxes to the consumer), forcing insurance companies to offer premiums based upon ability to pay, forcing employers to insure their employees, (causing unemployment to rise, increasing the cost of their goods and services, etc), just to name a few. Those all sound socialistic to me.

            No, it's redirecting corporate welfare into the hands of the population. There was a time when corproations were socially responsible (albeit a brief time). They offered health benefits, pensions and a wage that made it possible to raise a family on a single income. No more. They are responsible to their officers only -- not really even shareholders. Look at the outsized salaries and golden parachuets that guarantee even very poor executives a life of endless luxury. Some redistribution of wealth is called for. Never in the history of the country have the ecomonic assets been so concentrated in the hands of so few people.
