Actually, the fear mongering comes from Democrats and their allies at Moveon.org, the mainstream media, etc.
Actually, the fear mongering comes from Democrats and their allies at Moveon.org, the mainstream media, etc.
Fear mongering is often used in a time of war as a political tactic to frighten citizens and influence their political views. Fear mongering in the United States surfaced most prominently during the era of McCarthyism, when the nation first faced the threat of nuclear attack. Since then politicians and pundits alike have realized and utilized the powerful influential impact that fear can have on American voters. Fear of terrorism born from the September 11th attacks has been arguably exploited by incumbent politicians to maintain their control of the U.S. House of Representatives, Senate, and Executive branch of the government.....so please enlighten us/me, who in the Democratic party over hte last eight years has been using fear mongering? Code orange, weapons of mass destruction, etc to make people fearful sounds like it came from the person in our country's highest office?
The Dems are playing fear over the economy and oil prices. Trying to tie McCain to Bush is trying to play the fear of more Bush against McCain. The Dems are going to use "fear" of wedge issues this election for Supreme Court Justices, like Mr. Will said about Abortion.
Only if the Obamarobots fool enough people with their "smoke & mirrors" tactics.
So are you saying that Obama uses magic to fool 18 million voters over the primary season? Can you please enlighten me as what you mean? What politician can say fu to your face and smile at the same time while delivering his or her message? Isn't that what politics is about regardless of your political affiliation?
If you must call us robots, we prefer Obamabots. It's more concise, and really just flows off the tongue better.
To maggiethecat: Just how much of the black vote did Alan Keyes get in every failed election he's been involved in? Not including the trouncing he got from Obama for the Illinois Senate.
1% of the black vote. Remember he is againsnt "ENTITLEMENT"
Obama in a landslide -
Let's get out and make history this year..........
You meant, Obamessiah under a landslide.
Highly unlikely.
Some among the media elite hope/think voters will be taken off their feet by Obama's empty rhetoric. Hopefully, American voters will see through his "smoke and mirrors" and note there is little real substance, and if anything an effort to create a crisis atmosphere in which more authoritian peopole will attempt to take away our freedoms (i.e., communists/facists).

Repubs seem to dominate these comments. Will also usually takes Repub point of view. In view of this, it's surprising to me that he remarked on Stephanopolous show yesterday that HRC could not run for president again until 2016. A Freudian slip?
He is probably pretty accurate....lets see the Myan calendar says on Dectember 21, 2012 a great event will happen....hopefully we will all be around for 2016....LOL....
If elected, Obama will be our first Arab-American President. Mom was white. Dad, born in Kenya, was 87.5% Arab (his birth certificate says so: http://www.arcadeathome.com/newsboy.phtml?Barack_Hussein_Obama_-_Arab-Americ
Obama was registered at school as a Muslim, contrary to what GWill says: http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60559
All 3 of Obama's names are Arabic.Barack comes from the Arabic word for "blessed", Baraki.
Obama's cousin , Raila Odinga, ran for President in Kenya and lost (he was trying to establish Muslim Sharia law); now, he's using violence trying to overturn the government elected in 2007. He and Abongo Obama, Barack's half brother, are allies and Obama called them during the New Hampshire primasry. (Google Obama Odinga).
Mr. Will needs to do some research.
Mr Will does not need to do research. He has staff do research. I assure you his staff is accurate 99.9% of the time. your remarks are very emotional, and you sound very scared about Obama becoming president....I will suggest too that you use Snopes as probably the most reliable source of factual information. They are fantastic at showing what myths are out there, hoaxes, and sources of misinformation. Also check factcheck.org for reliable information before making off the wall remarks
Talk about needing to do research. Ok, where to start. First of all, a website about video game emulators does not qualify as a reputable or even remotely credible research tool. Also, there is a digitally doctored photo of Obama sporting a beard and turban to make him look like Osama bin Laden accompanying said article, further damaging its credibility. There is no link, photo or otherwise proving the claim that Barack Obama Sr.'s birth certificate classified him as an Arab, just the say-so of someone with as much clout as you. None, in other words.
So far as his names, I copied this from Snopes.com: "The author seems to be unaware that many Swahili words and names are of Arabic origin (just as many English words originated with other languages). 'Barack' is a Swahili name that entered the language via historical trade and cultural ties with Arabia." http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/50lies.asp
For more research debunking your claims about his Muslim status, as well as his relationship to Raila Odinga, please visit the following links:

Buying into lies propagated through e-mail doesn't count as research.
Again, the press publishes wonderfully insignificant news while going goo goo gaa gaa over Obama. American voters need in-depth analysis of BHO records and his agenda. The media needs to apply the same standard on him as on Bush. Obama is no baby wearing diaper and running for presidency is no beauty baby contest.
Even though one advices their children, the truth is they only listen to 50% of what you actually say, and the other 50% they either upgrade or downgrade.
All obama has to do to win the race for Presidency is continue to repeat two phrases: "McCain is more of the same and I represent change." McCain's voting records or past in the Senate cannot shake the fact that the thought of McCain brings out associations of George Bush and the Republican party. If McCain wants to win, he has to do everything in his power to disassociate himself from George Bush, and he should be repeating these refrains as often as Barack Obama has been repeating "more of the same" in his speeches. McCain should also choose a very centered Vice President. The best choice is Joe Lieberman. That would prove McCain's bipartisan promises as true and associate McCain with the center. McCain's dull speech last Tuesday is straying far from accomplishing disassociation from George Bush and the tarnished Republican label.

I'm just having a blast... all these Obama lovers think he's some kind of messiah. LOL. Reminds me of my home country of Cuba....everyone thought Castro, socialism, and big government was the answer to all our problems. In the end we ended up getting f**ked over really good. Enjoy it, I'll be laughing my a$$ off when you Marxists all have to swallow your B.S.
Mr Will,
I am a feminist who has voted Democrat my entire life believing that the Democratic party was best-suited to protect my interests. However, you are woefully mistaken to believe that simply finding out that McCain is pro-choice (which, by the way, I've known all along) will cause me to shed my distrust of Obama's arrogance and inexperience. The fact is, I have no idea how Obama feels about the issues close to my heart. I know what he says but what he says has changed significantly over the course of 16 months. I believe that we can exercise some control over McCain's policies -- his character is tried and true and something that I trust. However, we cannot control Obama's enormous ego -- look what has happened when we tried to control Bush's. Stop treating Hillary's supporters like the idiots you believe we are: I happen to have a graduate degree and a well-paying job. We aren't nearly as ill-informed as Obama's supporters and we will be voting for McCain in November.

George, I recently picked up your book but haven't yet cracked it. I hope it sticks to its central thesis better than this article does.
Here is a very intersting article that is non-partisan discussing what the new generation thinks and what they want to do with their vote.... http://www.rd.com/your-america-inspiring-people-and-stories/facebooks-influences-2008-election/article57845-1.html
I have no idea how so many people came to the conclusion that lower taxes were the be all end all of economic inspiration. There is no doubt that the lower the taxes the better. However, the taxes should always be as low as possible coupled with a balanced budget, otherwise, we are just passing an inevitable tax onto our children. 'Supplied Side' economic policy has never produced a balanced budget.
Neither candidate is exactly beating the balanaced budget drum, but at least Obama realizes how immoral it is to pass along this revenue shortfall onto our children and grandchildren. Sure we should pressure Obama to cut spending as much as possible, but tax and spend is a much more moral fiscal policy than spend and spend.
McCain economic proposal scares me to death. I do not understand how you can look the children of this country in the face and make such a proposal. It is full of taxes that they will be forced to pay years and years - if not generations and generations - from now. This country needs to wake up and realize that there things more important than having everything now. We have to starting governing and preparing for our children's future.
Obama is not perfect, but he is the most moral.
Well If Obama does pull this election off...because folks think he's the second coming (not even)....I guess they'll finally be happy right? I mean Obama says things, promises ( magic words, amazing wonderful events) and THEN NO ONE can blame the goverment anymore right? I mean according to Obama and his supporters that's all it's going to take (change) he gets in as Pres. and poof!!!
YEAH right!!!
I'll take honest,REAL, experienced,American Loving MC CAIN....and I WAS a Dem. That's how Obama has changed me!!! And ThANK YOU.
to maggiethecat: Nice way to generalize the african-american community. First of all before Iowa they still mostly favored Hillary Clinton. But I ask you how much of the "ax murderer voting" community voted for Alan Keyes in every single one of his failing attempts for public office? Not including his run against Obama for the US Senate.
The only reason the black community did not vote for Alan Keyes in every single one of his failing attempts for public office is because the black mass is illiterate. They do not really care about chamges. They only when to vote for who ever will give them more for nothing. Alan Keyes contrary to Barack Hussein Ossama is not about entitlement, he is against giving everything for nothing. Go to www.americasrevival.com to learn more about Alan Keyes, a true American who happens to be Black..
You are right FoxyBrown! America will be overthrown by 2 Pastors, a shady businessman, a washed up radical hippie from the 60's, and some dumb Muslim. Be afraid everyone!!!
LOL
I know you have a problem reading. I said want to overthrow. You can make light of Obamas associations if you want to , but to me they are very telling of his character. They all hate America and we should all be worried that someone who wants to lead this country, have access to state secrets and be commander in chief has these types of friends.
