I just have one question, do you have to re-register to change to republican? I am asking seriously because I didn't know that.

It's the General Election - once you enter the booth, party affiliation no longer matters.....

............because the Reps haven´t already done enough damage!
Hill is out and McCain will fall!
        It´s about issues.
Not Obama, not Hill, not McCain!

How destructive to the U.S. economy would a Barack Obama presidency be?

An exclusive Newsmax analysis warns: There could be a very rough time ahead.

Beneath Obama's flowery rhetoric lies a dangerous economic plan that will wreak havoc on the American economy.

Obama plans to return to the failed policies of high taxation coupled with an expansion of government spending.

Worse, Obama says he is absolutely committed to almost doubling the capital gains rate ??? something he will easily accomplish with a Democrat Congress.

In the coming months ??? when investors realize that Obama will raise the cap gains rate ??? there could be a stampede of asset sales as investors rush to take their profits now to avoid Obama's doubling of the tax rates next year.

All of these issues and more are explored in Newsmax magazine's special report "Obamanomics ??? the Coming Tax-and-Spend Nightmare," by Wall Street Journal columnist John Fund.

This Newsmax magazine special report gives Americans the first in-depth look at the Democratic presidential candidate's likely strategies ??? and how they will affect not just the larger economy, but your personal wealth as well.

Indeed, Obama makes no bones about his plans to go on a tax rampage. Not only would he increase the capital-gains tax rate from 15 percent to as much as 28 percent, he wants to allow the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts to expire in 2010, which effectively raises taxes on Americans by tens of billions of dollars.

He also wants to do away with the $102,000 FICA payroll tax cap, which means anyone making over $102,000 would pay an additional 7 percent in taxes on earned income.

And the loan dividend tax rate George Bush implemented? Under President Obama it will be DOA!

Lacks lots of guts if he can't pick Hillary for his VP, lot of women are looking to see if he can make a courageous gutsy decision right now....I think if he dosen't expect defection from the Hillary voters to possibly the other side....these men he is considering look to me like some of the good ol boys, i.e., Bushies and crew....Webb, Dodd, Nunn, et al...and if they pick a woman instead of Hillary, wow, what a major screw up on his part...is he afraid of the her? Threatened by her...that is what it looks like....

    • Posted By: deep_eye @ 06/10/2008 4:41:12 PM

He is bright enough to know he does not need her and that whatever she "adds" will be more than offset by what she subtracts. Besides, he doesn't want to be the next Vincent Foster, either....

I am a white female with 28 white now former democratic voters who went Ind on last Wednesday. I have a bus load of senior white women who have signed up to go to the courthouse and change parties from Dem to Ind this week. We all live in "half vote Florida" and will be voting for McCain in the fall. We are all over 40 and cannot be frightened by the old"womens right to choose" mantra.
Now is it becoming a movement in itself. Just watch. He was your canidate not ours. We love Hillary and will vote for her in 2012 and watch Obama lose in a landslide in Nov.

    • Posted By: Kboogie @ 06/10/2008 4:05:12 PM

Hurry....Hurry!!!! Obama is leading by 8 points in the national polls!!!!!

  • Posted By: melodyk1 @ 06/10/2008 2:55:01 PM

I have another busload of white women who are going to the courthouse in droves to leave the Dem Party.
Last week 28 of us white women when and registered Ind. after he and the press declared the nomination. It is not going to be him for us. No we have a swore pack to no vote or vote for McCain. This is a real movement that you can count on to continue and is across the nation. Women are sick of the press minimizing us to Roe v Wade issues. We are all over 40 and now the real likelihood of a 2012 Hillary for President for sure when Obama loses in a landslide. Oh we also donated to McCains campaign.
Now Jonathan take is a women scorned reaction and we have long memories boys and girls.

    • Posted By: Kboogie @ 06/10/2008 4:04:09 PM

You gals better move a little quicker....Obama is leading by 8 points in the polls!!!

    • Posted By: deep_eye @ 06/10/2008 3:06:02 PM

GET OVER YOURSELVES, you're not that big of a deal, really. You are the same bunch that was predicting a Hillary blow out six months back.....what happened??

Like your candidate, you all seem to possess very weak skills in mathematics. Trust me, there will be NO landslide victory for EITHER candidate but Obama is certainly better positioned to win this than McCain - I can't wait for these debates to start.

Hillary in 2012???? HAHAHAHHAHAHA. The Clintons grow increasingly less relevant now with each passing week - by 2012, she will be just another semi-interesting also-ran.

Want to know the biggest lesson that came out of this election? It's the fact that the Clintons are beatable, not invincible and their brand of politics is now officially extinct...

I like Sam Nunn for Veep. his southern roots have the potential of turning several southern states blue and will help deflect republican criticisms on defense and foreign policy. He could offer Hillary the department of health and human services post; situating her ideally to work on Healthcare; from a stronger position than Bill ever did.

From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my
mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to
suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to
    whites.'

From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in
nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity
    against my mothers race.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about
him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself,
    maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to
prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to
the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men
and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It
was into my father's image, the black man, son of
Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought
in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm,
    DuBois and Mandela.'

From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims
should the political winds shift in an ugly
    direction.'
He should choose a fellow racist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or a fellow muslim

      "MCCAIN IS A TRAITOR"

CNN did a piece on McCain where he admitted giving the N. Vietnamese strategic points of U.S. soldiers. In return, he received favorable treatment from his captors.

Governor Christine Gregoire has a bigger pair then Hillary, has been extremely effective as Governor of Washington and is more genuine. I would love to see her on the ticket

  • Posted By: cferns1530 @ 06/10/2008 3:58:02 AM

Many say that Obama-Hillary ticket would heal wounds and ensure victory. Athough the argument is, it will give the Clintonites a reason to back Obama, i think many Obamaniacs could lose their confidence in Barack for succumbing to pressure. However there is not much choice considering the McPanderer is the other option. There are many candidates available for VP and i hope the Obama camp selects someone but Clinton (We dont need Bill in the spotlight anymore either). Plus she might want to build up for 2012 incase Obama's speeches dont have fruition.

    • Posted By: brian.reach @ 06/10/2008 3:28:57 PM

Bill wouldn't be a liability for Obama - once the AA population went pretty much entirely for Obama, anything anyone on the HRC side said was immediately combed through for any possible suspected racial undertone - and then blown way out of proportion. When he's fighting for Obama (which he will), it won't be an issue. The Clintons are a welcome ally for any Democrat, and necessary. The Clintons revitalized and redefined the Democratic Party, and nobody on the left wants them gone.

WE are about to find out whether America is still RACIST. IF BARAK wins he will be the first man to be from two races to win. HE IS BOTH BALCK AND WHITE and that should work in this favor.
McCAIN can only win if he pLAyS the race card. THE REpublicans have destroyed the fabric of this country . THey HAVE TURNED THE LAND OF IMMIGRANTS AND OppORTUNITy TO THE LAND OF DEBT, RACISM AND WAR. THEy HAVE LEFT A HUGE CRATER WHICH McCAIN WANTS TO MAKE DEEpER by CONTINUING their misguided ONE HUNDRED yEAR pOLICIES. BUSH/CHENEy pOLICIES have catered to the rich and put the middle class through hell. I call it Economic Feudalism.

BILL CLINTON is such a gifted man but his one flaw, addiction to women, cost GORE AND HIS WIFE THE presidency. Bill was the best president, we the people, have ever had. ADDICTION will bring anyone down AND THE people AROUND THEM, regardless of who they are. IT is a shame because Bill Clinton has done AMAZING things around the globe and here at home over the last fifteen years.
Hillary I do not know what to say, you are a great women and AMERICA NEEDS yOU.

BARAK, congratulations, I have been commenting on your wave of change since NOVEMEBER. All my posts turned out to be dead on. yOU are a champion who beat another champion.

    • Posted By: sunshineannmarie @ 06/10/2008 2:50:04 PM

Excellent comments on the racism. I really did not know what there were still so many Americans afraid of black people holding office.

    • Posted By: RyanInsight @ 06/08/2008 6:17:28 PM

You, sir, are an idiot and would do well to PLEASE STEER CLEAR of any voting mechanism come November (not NOVEMEBER).
Perhaps you feel like a serf because you did not take the opportunities that our "fair-to-middling" universal education system offers. Therein lies the causality of which you whine. To claim that a vote against Obama is racist is to engender an ideal upon the man that is, at best, drivel and at worst, racist.
You really must not think much of white America... Sad.

Really Proud if the American President having a mixtures of Jew,Muslim,Christian,Toasim,Hindu,Bengali,Chinese,Japanese,Black,white,Red...This a Sign Of GREAT ASSETS not LIABILITY as those moron trying to smear as where they stand......LIABILITY themselves.

    This is ECONOMY!!!!! STUPID ..Moron

  • Posted By: anotherview @ 06/09/2008 3:03:45 PM

It would seem that anyone that has served or is serving on the national level would have to disqualified, unless you can find someone who has gone against the mainstream, and that doesn't even include Obama, our candidate of "change'.

So he will need to look outside of Washington. The quickest way to heal the rift with the women is have a female VP. If Hillary got behind his choice that would take care of the rift. And for Barrack Hussein Obama it is certainly politically expedient.

And I suspect we see a waiting game as to who will announce their choice first. Sometimes it is best to let your opponent make the first move.

    • Posted By: Alvy @ 06/10/2008 2:06:00 PM

Uhmm. That's the same redundant bitter view.
      "Hillary or else" is old.

  • Posted By: dreffein @ 06/09/2008 3:04:13 PM

Hey HRC supporters. There is a new web site that will let you show your discontent with MSNBC and Newsweek. Here's the link: http://www.womenboycottmsnbc.com. I'm also trying to start a boycott of advertisers of both. More on that later. Let's do something constructive and make sure no women is ever treated this way again.

Obama supporters - This is not directed at you or Senator Obama. I do not believe he is responsible for the MSM so please don't pile on HRC, me or other HRC supporters. Thanks.

How this John Mccain know about ECONOMY?let alone about climate change, In 1951, the family settled in Northern Virginia, and McCain attended Episcopal High School , a private preparatory boarding school in Alexandria.McCain had conflicts with higher-ups, and he was disinclined to obey every rule, which contributed to a low class rank.McCain did well in academic subjects that interested him, such as literature and history, but studied only enough to pass subjects he didn't like, such as math.Immediately after HIGH SCHOOL he enrolled and following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, McCain entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. This his HIGHEST qualification when Military commissioned him as Naval Officer.(Perharps he's lucky with his family BackGround).

  • Posted By: citron16 @ 06/10/2008 2:59:46 AM

First McCain is not too old, his mother is still alive and I think she is 96 years old. Do you really think anyone, Senators or anyone would agree to let Bush send troops into Iran? I don't think so!!

  • Posted By: Flash Drive @ 06/09/2008 11:29:43 PM

What about Pastor Wright, he will make a great VP for Obama.
Lets think outside the box, no moe Washington insider.
As for Hillary, the DNC have abondoned you, so make your 'heights'.

  • Posted By: Thevail @ 06/09/2008 11:08:43 PM

    I think it's Obama's choice. Period.

  • Posted By: cchi1 @ 06/09/2008 11:02:47 PM

Hillary knows she would be blamed if Obama lose in Nov. no matter how much she supports him. She is putting the burden of rejecting her as VP on Obama by indirectly suggesting she should be on the tickect. I do not believe its in her interest to be VP. I believe its a defensive strategy, and its a smart strategy.
