McCain and Lieberman would be great together, I have been hoping for this since I heard McCain was running. They are like best friends and work great together. A republican and democrat running together would be a dream ticket!!!

Obama's reference to the book team of rivals was a signal not to people in his own party but to people in the opposing party he hired a Democrat Andrew Johnson to his ticket in 1864 and other dems to his cabinet in 1860. He is going to choose Chuck Hagel from Nebraska he solves his geographic problem because his campsign said that they are interested in concentrating on the west coast more as well as helping him with white male voters, lower income voters because he is a business man and he has national security experience. that way he can create a National Unity Ticket whcih forces Mccains hand to either go farther toward the right and offend independent voters, go father toward the center and offend the right thta hates him already or pcika democrat like leiberman and offend everyone at the same time.
This also helps barack that way he doesn't have to move toward the center, he can stay on the left that way he does't offend his base and can appeal to the indies and the right in his own party.
the parts about who would succeed barack if he died or had to resign for any reason as well as if hagel runs in 2016 can be worked out later. go to www.obamahagelunityticket.blogspot.com
I doubt Mccain will pick Lieberman under any circustances
Look how old they both are. It would be the Grumpy Old Men Ticket
besides - how would it look to the right if mccain chose the 2000 Dem VP pick for this VP
The right is already thinks he is suspect

Obama should pick Chuck Hagel. He is a Vietnam veteran who was critical of the Iraq aventure. He would be able to win some western states.
I think it will be Bill Clinton...Got your attention. Ireally like Senator Biden or Webb
the answer is : chuck hagel !
..............................How about Barry errr Barack Obama and Barry Bonds?????
They are all good candidates for the V.P slot. The auhor of this article completely forgotten about the impact that Hillary Clinton will bring to the ticket. She will be the candidate that this article demands of from Mr. Obama. She will be the force of uniting this party delivering the significant amount of votes that Mr. Obama had lost in the primary specially from groups like the hard working blue color white voters, women, lationos. My first preferance is Mrs. Cliton to run in the ticket with Mr. Obama.
Mr. Jonathan Alters also mentioned about Gov. Rendell of Pennsylvania. I like that if he is persuaded to run in the ticket if Mrs. Clinton decides to go back to the United States Senate to be the majority leader. Gov. Rendell is someone who can deliver states like Pennsylvania where these voter group resides and can deliver for Mr. Obama. He is also someone who works well with the other party as he has demonstrated in the State of Pennsylvania. He has completely turned around the State of Pennsylvania. He has done it with his leadership working in coalition with the Republican as as a result the State is one of the best places to live and work. Mr. Rendell is someone who is talented specially in the area of Economy and as this country is facing a downturn in this sector, he will be helpful to Mr. Obama. He is also a great fund raiser who will be beneficial to Mr. Obama. Above all, he is well liked by bith the parties around this country. He can be an assett to Mr. Obama in the General election against Mr. McCain. Again, we will have to see who Mr. Obama decides to pick as his running mate.
Comment: Hillary is the only sensible choice for VP.
John Kerry lost to Bush with 59 million votes. Bush had 62 million votes.
Hillary + Obama in the 2008 Primary: 36 million votes. John Edwards - less than 400,000.
John Kerry in the 2004 Primary: 6.78 million votes
John Edwards in the 2004 Primary: 2.78 million votes
Total Voters in the 2004 Primary: 11.59 million
Total Voters in the 2008 Primary: just under 40 million
If everyone that voted for Obama or Hillary took a friend to the polls, we'd clobber the Republicans.
Hillary on the ticket is a sure win for Democrats. It'll heal the wounds from the Primary, and we'll all stick together.
well Hunglo, maybe they will all show up in his cabinet, and after Obama pardons Rezko, he can get a jib with the Department of Justice.
Hillary Clinton supporters who think they can bring down the main stream media with their VILE attacks: First, GROW UP. Second: Your candidate FAIRLY lost Third: Is this any way to teach children how to play fair? Fourth: Calling people names only shows ignorance; and lastly, if you actually think you have a HUGE movement of 18,000,000, think again. You maybe have 10K sore losers who will slowly come to their senses.
Jmmn - get your facts straight. The most recent poll on CNN shows 17% of HRC voters going to McCain and 22% not voting. This will clearly change over time and probably go more towards Obama as we get closer to the GE. However, if the media and Obama supporters don't stop putting down HRC and her supporters, Obama may not get enough of a shift from HRC voters to win.
Well if anything he could always pick his comrade/spiritual leader Jeremiah Wright, friend Bill Ayers, or maybe Oprah....who knows what happens, I'm just throwing it out there
I was a Hillary Clinton supporter. I think Obama should Not ask Hillary to run with him as V.P. I think Obama would have a much better chance of winning if Hillary runs as V.P. That is why I think he should not ask her. John Kerry or Richards would be a better choice for him!!!!

I think that the results from this vice president poll says what America does think, and, although it's up to the candidates to choose, they are still very informative. Just go to

Search everywhere to find some one to help your goldenboy,Jon,but without Hillry's people he will not make it.While we love and admire Hillary, there is one thing we will not do ie:vote for Obama unless she is on the ticket. If that means President McCain,so be it.It will take us back to Bush 41 years, fine with us.All you guys suck it up and relive those years! We didn't bring them on...YOU did.And all the younger women.. who voted for Obama,be careful about tour reproductive lives life is not a Party!
Cha-cha the horror show date.
You give new meaning the term male chauvinist pig.
I have just finished watching your inane comments on the Dan Abrams show regarding the bias of the MSM against Clinton.
Now let me see now, as I understand it,
it was not Clinton???s policy positions (positions that she was able to articulate so well that all Obama could say was Me Too),
it was not the fact that she actually spent time performing a service for her constituents and country (perhaps Obama will rebate some of his mega millions back to the voters of Illinois ),
it was not about who is best for America (a competent leader vs someone who make Chris Matthews??? leg tingle); --no apparently the only issue is that her staff was RUDE to the press corp.
O-M-G.
I realize that it is so easy to throw me and my fellow typical white women aside, (or under bus since that seems to be Obama???s most preferred method of disposal), by dismissing us as mere racists. But really aren???t you at least even a little bit curious as to why millions of people chose to vote against Obama even after you told us, and told us, and told us, and told us, and told us, and told us,???and told us--it was over?
Do you really think that the votes of millions of people can so easily be dismissed by saying their just racists? Can you really be that ignorant? Mind you, I did not say stupid, I said ignorant; as in the act of ignoring.
I assure you that I am not a racist, but even if I was, that does not negate the very real concerns I and many others have about Obama. Concerns that you in your ???infinite wisdom??? have failed to properly investigate.
Concerns about the company Mr. Obama likes to keep. I have no doubt that the Tony R is not the man Obama once knew; back then he was a lot more valuable.
Concerns about what Obama will do if he becomes president; withdraw or not to withdraw, talk with terrorists or not talk with terrorists; tax the rich or the poor, or maybe both. Defend Israel or give it away, like Chamberlain did Poland. Scream righteous indignation all you want; don???t tell me this thought hasn???t crossed your mind.
Concerns about how he really feels about race in America; seems to be really good at playing that race card.
Concerns about whether or not we will be electing someone who is a liar or just amoral.
So while you and your BF???s Keith and Chris, all revel in your Obama man crush, this typical white woman will be doing all I can do to send all you ???sweeties??? back to the caves you came out of. Oh and by the way, as John McEnroe famously said, ???Go grow some HAIR???.
Barkofske
I agree with you 100% and i am a young, educated, black woman. I've always thought broadcaster (not real journalist such as the late Edward R. Murrow or some young english guy who reports the news where it really happens such as Kosovo or Kenya) are narcissistic personalities who just like to hear themselves talk and see their reflections in the camera. But after these primaries i have lost complete respect for the media. I too have a dream and that dream is that one day the media would REPORT the news and not COVER the news. When Youtube said "Broadcast Yourself", i didn't realized that it also applied to journalists who now make the news themselves. I too have a dream that one day that my children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged (OR SUPPORTED) by the color of their skin but by the content of their character! I will never buy again Newsweek and this is my last time on this website. Enough is Enough! You will not get my vote Obama!
Here come the fake black Limbaugh puppets, agreeing Obama started with the race and Not Hills - as has been reported daily, and is one of the many reasons she lost.
Another day, another plant. The actual number of new plants is starting to get hard to keep up with, but it's 58.
Okay, explain to me in detail....WHAT IS THE RACE CARD??? What does that mean? Really? I keep hearing said, but no one will explain. Can you do this for me. Being you are so adament about it.
one of the main criteria for obama's VP should be that he/she must have military experience in some way to contribute to the process of stabilizing iraq and the gradual withdrawal of troops, if Obama has to stay true to his policies. having a defence minister and secretary of state is one thing, but the VP must act as a crucial person to repair america's relations while maintaining stability in the current crises.
Here's some change you can believe in: the amount of times McCain has changed his values and positions on the issues.
The reason half of the conservative Christian right hates McCain is because they think that they can't trust him. McCain started his career as part of the Christian right (there's a little-known fact). Once he landed in the soup as part of the Keating Five (which almost derailed his career) he positioned himself as a liberal and became a reformer for campaign finance in an effort to resurrect himself. For those of you who don't remember, the Keating scandal had to do with some shim sham corporations pumping money into McCain's coffers. So McCain became a reformer to shine up his tarnished image, and that was his first departure from the right.
Other, more serious betrayals of the right came later, after McCain got swift boated by Bush in 1999. The great Texas Republican political machine laid McCain to waste, and McCain was mad as hell. He started voting against the party line and against Bush. He suddenly supported abortion rights, opposed the Bush tax cuts, co-sponsored a patient's bill of rights with Kennedy and Edwards, and got on the environmental bandwagon with John Kerry. My gosh, he even tried to crack down on gun shows in legislation he put forth with then-Democrat Joe Lieberman. And in 2001, when Senator Jeffords of Vermont switched from Republican to Independent in an effort to counteract Bush's stranglehold on the Senate, McCain announced that he was considering becoming a Democrat, and went into a pow-wow with Senator Tom Daschle at his Sedona ranch. And did you know that John Kerry floated the idea of having McCain as his VP in '04? That was to have cemented his status as a newly-minted Democrat.
But instead of joining Kerry, McCain suddenly switched his affiliation, came out in support of Bush in '04, and jettisoned his liberal image. Suddenly, it was the "old" McCain from the 1980s back in the saddle, the neo-conservative, take no prisoners Creationist. Against abortion. For the war. The SAME man who opposed a Federal amendment banning gay marriage and openly met with gay groups now was pushing a gay marriage ban in Arizona. The SAME man who said in 1999 that he was opposed to overturning Roe vs. Wade, now suddenly in 2007 is promising that he will stack the deck in the Supreme Court with religious right judges and overturn Roe vs. Wade.
But the religious right isn't so sure about him. He's supported so many different opposing positions at so many times, that they are afraid that they are getting played in the name of McCain's political expediency.
Here are videos that show clips of McCain reversing himself on the same issues at different times, to give you an idea of what I am talking about. Don't believe me -- get it straight from the horse's mouth:

As an Obama supporter whoever he picks for VP is Ok with me.
As long as it isn't done hastily and under pressure. Seriously, if Hillary and BILL can get through the vetting process, more power to them. And more votes for Obama in the fall.
I'm not voting for the Veep, I'm voting for the President.
Hillary's national security credentials are Ok, not great like Gen Clark or Webb's, but Ok.
No help geographically really they're both from the Northeast so that's a little iffy. But if there were enough people who would vote for the ticket BECAUSE she's on it in areas like Ohio and Pennsylvania and W. Virginia then that would be good.
The Chemistry...maybe it'll get better??? We'll have to see. I mean they have been engaging in trench warfare against each other for 16 months so maybe after a few weeks or a month they'll both cool down a bit, as will the supporters on both sides. But since their platforms are really really similar it seems like they could work together on that stuff pretty well.
But seriously..give it a few weeks anyway. I'm sure right now neither one of them wants to even see the other one across a room. Let the energy get a chance to shift towards McCain, then take a look at it again.
RFK, Jr.
You are the worst reporter I have ever read. Throughout this primary, you made me sick.
Hillary ran, along with Obama, the two most fundraised campaigns in primary history. They also got about 10% of the country to vote in a Democratic PRIMARY.
Bottom line: There's nothing more impressive about any possible candidate. She is a necessary addition, and Obama would be better for it.
You are a moron.
And half of the Democratic Party wishes you packed your things and left the news industry, since all you do is spew bull.
