Hey now, I am one of those Hilary supporters, I too was thinking of voting for McCain, I am not so sure now that I will. He is as much of a two timer as Bill Clinton ever was-maybe worse. If his first wife was a cripple and he thought it was ok to cheat on her, what will he to do us.
In another article,McCain said that Obama was bad for small bussiness-I think that's crap. Obama is going to be bad for big bussinesses-and that will be good for the small ones, If they will only find a way to buy locally manufactured goods and locally produced products. That might even start some of the old factories up again. I love factory work. I spend my day now making things, because I have no job to go too to fill that need and my pocket. I am a 53 year old former factory worker. Don't get me wrong-I love technology, my computers, cell phone, pdas and that stuff, surfing the net, but I don't want to work with it, I would rather make things. This might seem off the subject, we have allowed big bussiness to take all our jobs and send them overseas to China mostly, Nafta never really had much affect on that-China wasn't part of it after all.

So maybe I will rethink my stance and vote for Obama after all. If he will try to bring back jobs and end the war and put taxes where they belong-on the ones making the money. I am sure McCain already thinks he has won, but he may be in for a surprise. I am older, but not totally inflexible.

As far as vetoing beer, give me a break, Cheat on your wife but veto beer-sounds like a republican!

From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my
mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to
suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to
      whites.'

From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in
nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity
      against my mothers race.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about
him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself,
      maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to
prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to
the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men
and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It
was into my father's image, the black man, son of
Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought
in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm,
      DuBois and Mandela.'

From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims
should the political winds shift in an ugly
      direction.'

Ok so now we have rev wright, farakkkhn, racist church, racist words in his book, his commitment to support the muslims. And lets not forget the Michelle kill whitey rant. I see your problem with McCain now. Just vote for this guy then. LMAO

Sporty, bring it on. Neither Rev. Wright, UCC, nor Michelle Obama are racists, no matter what the media/public may be saying. Neither is Rev. Father Michael Pfleger. They were all pointing to instances where they thought they found racism IN OTHERS, particularly Wright, about the government, practices that he says supported institutionalized white racism and continuing white privilege. He may be wrong about some acts of the government truly being racist in motive or not (even if the effect may make it come out that way anyway, or look that way), or whether the government even did some of the acts that he accused it of (acts which WOULD be racist if they happened, but may not have). That would make him misinformed, hurt, angry, paranoid, hypersensitive, maybe even a little vengeful/spiteful, but not racist. He doesn't fear or hate whites or feel that blacks are superior in any way to whites or that they should have MORE privileges than white people, based on superiority (that's what racism is). He just wants equality, which only comes when white privilege is ended. There are white members of UCC (I guess historic - not the internet, convoluted/watered down version - of BLT isn't really anti-white so much as it is pro-black, pro-Africa), and Pfleger is white. Although white, Pfleger abhorrs racism and tries to point out white privilege wherever he thinks he sees it, to ty to end it. This is really what is necessary to bring light on the black struggle (much of what Pfleger sees in the community where his parish ministers) in order to help them achieve the goal of equality. Whites have to see, understand, empathize, agree and work with them; being in the majority, nothing much by way of MLK's dream or Malcolm X's fight would ever materialize if SOME whites weren't on board. This is silly.

There seems to be an unsettling trend emerging where if blacks point out racism in whites, they are causing trouble, stirring up strife, or even worse lately, being racist themselves. How is it racist to speak of racial profiling, the civil rights movement, or slavery? Does that nullify them as being instances of white racism? And where is this Michelle Obama "whitey" rant video? Produce it. Farrahkan was praised for his work in the black community, not for his feelings towards Jews. He IS anti-semitic/racist if he said what has been reported of him regarding Jews. Barack Obama rejected and repudiated his endorsment right away. Obama IS pro-muslim. He is also pro Jewish, pro-white (and half white), pro-black, pro-Asian, pro-Native american, pro-hispanic, etc. He is pro-America, and the melting pot that it is. He is on a board for PEACE in the Middle East with Farrahkanad, not a terrorist. There are lots of muslims in that Chicago community. Why would he hate them or be against them? Does he use them for protection along with the Secret Service? Possibly; so do many Christian churches. They provide good, disciplined protection. One does not have to be anti-muslim in order to be pro-Israel, as much as many would lead you to believe (like Rodney King said, "can't we all just get along?" and he was beaten without cause/undue force by 4 officers caught on tape, but still acquitted by an all white jury). His was father had been raised muslim (was atheist by the time he met his mother, who was also atheist, and remarried another atheist who was former muslim), and that father gave him his name (he is a junior, the second - Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.); but, Obama himself, is not muslim (Christian), nor was he even raised that way (raised by white maternal grandparents). He is neither racist nor terrorist and neither is his wife, former church, or former pastor (no matter how much the campaign trail and media hyped that up - I saw the whole sermon on CNN where he said, "God damn America," which was followed by a laundry list of "if she continues to..." That phrase amounted to about 1/10 of the entire sermon, the rest of which was pretty a-political. These were things anyone would agree with had they heard them, including torture, genocide, slavery. God would never bless any of these acts in any country, not even ours).

Rezko's corruption, for which he is being indicted, is not Obama's, though he and Rod Blagojovech both had dealings with him. I don't know this Sinclair cat, but Ayers did his dirt as a youth when Obama was around 6-8 years old; the charity board that they were on together as adults was above reproach. I don't know if Ayers has changed his opinions regarding his youthful indiscretions, but what is that to Obama now? It had nothing to do with what they were working on TOGETHER; as long as his philosophy on the charity was right, Ayers' past was just that, to Obama, I'm sure. Considering his treatment of Hillary during the primaries, I gathered that Obama seems to be fair when it comes to harshly judging other people. Emil Jones fundraised for him. He didn't politick as Obama does, but that doesn't make Obama crooked. Judge whether Obama is a crooked politician by how he runs HIS campaign. People REALLY need to stop being led by the nose by the media, do some GENUINE RESEARCH, make INFORMED judgments. I guess that's hard to do if your opinions are already formed based on superficial data from appearances. If you don't agree with his left policies, that's one thing. If you think he's too inexperienced, that's another. Consider your alternatives. But please don't keep jockeying the race-based, fear/hate ball, that's not based in truth, around. Stick to the issues, and please, grow up.

Sebro1stl, you said: ???I don't know if Ayers has changed his opinions regarding his youthful indiscretions, but what is that to Obama now????

My Response: I think what is disturbing is that William Ayers and his wife are UNREPENTANT terrorists. I???ve attached an article that was published on 09/11/2001 - the very same day we were hit with terrorist attacks in NYC, etc. about them having NO REGRETS for their deed:

              THE NEW YORK TIMES
              Re-posted on Wednesday, June 11, 2008

Article: NO REGRETS . . . for a Love Of Explosives; In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen

Apparently Ayers was more than a friendly face of someone who lives/ed in Obama???s neighborhood and passing each other once in awhile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMOtNHyejrU

I don???t have enough energy in me to get into the whole Trinity United Church of Christ???s religious practice of Black Liberation Theology and the radical sermons that take place by the pastors there and the total acceptance of church members to the hateful rants which they all cheer and clap too. I???ll let it go at that tonite.

Believe what you want! I am and always will be a Hillary supporter, but I WANT EXPERIENCE TO CLEAN UP THE LAST 8 YEARS OF MESS. If you were so worried about the way things were going WHY DID YOU LET THIS PRESIDENT DO 2 (TWO) TERMS???? I Know of so many supposed Democrats who voted for Bush's 2'nd term out of fear, didn't like Kerry's speeches, didn't like who he was. Just remember George Bush DID NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE(he was a businessman) look where we are today! So lets do it again VOTE IN ANOTHER WITH NO EXPERIENCE AND LETS SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE NEXT FOUR(4) YEARS! Charisma doesn't run the country.

I thank you for your response and keeping an open mind. You have republicans on these blogs claiming to be Democrats voting McCain to keep division. If you seen Obama's latest plan he got great reviews and McCain doesn't even compare with what Obama is trying to do for the American people. We have been ignored for so long. McBush is the same of the same, we need change and I think if we stay focused on the issues of our government McBush will be sent home in November living large with his millionaire spouse, while we democrats move this Country forward. McCain speaks Bush just listen, he can't change his position because they are the one's raising money for his campaign. If you hear something that McCain is purposing outside of Bush let me know, it will not happen because he will lose the support of the republicans, so is that a great Commander in Chief he has to follow there rules.

Turning on the Repugnants debates i couldn't keep from laughing when the questions was,..........
Do you believe the words in the Bible are the word of God. WOW this is an issue That will put food on the table for a starving family, this will provide medical care for the 50 million people in our country who are without and the 25 million who are underinsured, full coverage, this will bring back the millions of jobs the Repugnants have sent out of the country that will never be coming back, this will put back the hard earned dollars that the oil companies gouged from the American people for their windfall profits from the unbelievable high prices of energy. This will bring back our brave service people from the illegal unwarranted occupation costing 4000 plus Americans killed and 3 trillion and counting spent in that death trap Iraq.
    NOT!

The Repugnants really don't have a clue they do care only about winning votes. What a joke horrible joke played on the American people.

Newsweek, I'm disappointed in you. The remark about the media not being fair to Hillary in the last question was in McCain's speech, and when he told he didn't say it, he lied right to your face, You can watch the video on MSNBC and several other places.

Or rather, he either lied to you or he can't remember what he said, just as he couldn't remember the difference between sunnis and shiites.

A serious journalistic organization calls politicians when they lie about something so easy to verify.

    DO YOUR RESEARCH?

For you that don't get it and feels McBush will give you a better 8 years I ask how is that when he has the same policies as the current President with the lowest ratings in Presidental history. If you are a democrat and feels disrespected by Hillary loss, I ask you to get pass this as you would fighting with your family, at some point you work it out. The democrats need to stand strong and vote our democrat in office with so much at stake. Here are more facts to why: Please keep an open mind. I don't expect the republicans to give a dam because there motto is to get richer and richer, no worries for our economy, the lower and middle class.

Behind the door of Army Spec. Jeremy Duncan's room, part of the wall is torn and hangs in the air, weighted down with black mold. When the wounded combat engineer stands in his shower and looks up, he can see the bathtub on the floor above through a rotted hole. The entire building, constructed between the world wars, often smells like greasy carry-out. Signs of neglect are everywhere: mouse droppings, belly-up cockroaches, stained carpets, cheap mattresses.Soldiers dealing with psychological disorders of their own have been put in charge of others at risk of suicide.

Disengaged clerks, unqualified platoon sergeants and overworked case managers fumble with simple needs: feeding soldiers' families who are close to poverty, replacing a uniform ripped off by medics in the desert sand or helping a brain-damaged soldier remember his next appointment.

As another poster suggested, don't walk into that trap of bringing up education and McCain in the same breath! So, you think he's pissing off repubs, hunh? The same McCain who was swiftboated in 2000 with the Karl Rove lies of him illegitimately fathering the black girl (whom he had adopted with his current wife) is the one and same flip-flopper whonow is Bush-hugger, voting with Bush 95% of the time last year. The link below is about McCain's treatment of his wife on the Senate campaign trail in 1992, but check out the book about McCain and the picture on the cover. The easiest way for McCain to beat Obama in Nov is if Obama doesn't take Hilary. But then that would open it back up for her in 2012. The 18 million peple would vote for her all over again and maybe us Floridians wouldn't get scr___ yet again.

Not all of us have our heads in the sand. Sure we need change. but the honorable Mr. obama has failed to impress upon me that his ideas of change are for the best. In my mind we are a nation at war that has gone on for to long I would rather have a presadent who has had a millitary background, and experience in such matters. Not a man who is young and only served one term in the senate. Sorry Barack backersBut I think your guy is going to lose big come November.

Need something new and fiercely desiring a way out.

That is perseveration, your little nonsense about Fonda. Changing the subject to obfuscate what OldGame was talking about.

It is a known fact that McCain collaborated with the enemy while he was a POW -- McCain even admits it in his autobiography.

However, nobody knows exactly how far he went with his collaboration. We know that he made tapes saying that he had bombed civilians targets like schools and hospitals, and that the Viets used the tapes to try and convince the international community that the USA were playing dirty (in case there was anyone who didn't already know that). Also, he made tapes that were used to demoralize other POWs. For these offenses, the average Navy man would be tried for treason upon his return home. McCain was never tried, but he was discharged from the Navy. Having four star Admirals in your family sure helps to keep you out of jail.

The group Vietnam Veterans Against McCain aren't against him because he caved in to torture while a POW. They are against him because of what he has done while a Senator. At every opportunity, McCain has voted to deny benefits to veterans. Worse still, McCain blocked legislation that would allow families of POWs and MIAs to see their loved one's military files. This legislation passed the House of Representatives with every Representative voting in favor of it. But it never even got to the Senate floor, because John McCain killed it in committee. Why would McCain do such a thing? Because of that Bill had passed, McCain's military file would have become a matter of public record. Then the whole world would know exactly how much he collaborated.

This is why veterans hate McCain: because time and again John McCain has put saving his own skin over taking care of veterans and their families.

              • Posted By: OldGamer007 @ 06/09/2008 1:44:50 PM

Some in that group disapproved of his handling of his situation as a POW.

Ever notice that none of the other POW's (Ted Guy, etc.) received the injuries McCain said he received as a POW? Funny how his medical records show that his injuries are consistent with the same injuries you'll receive if you don't hold your arms in while being ejected from an airplane.

Yes, Hispanics have traditional family values, and tend to be morally conservative. Most of them are Catholic.

Are you trying to imply that people with traditional families and conservative moral values are unlikely to be Democrats?

Democrats have reached out to non-traditional families, and stood up for the civil rights of all, which would included people who are gay. However, this does not mean that most Democrats come from non-traditional families.

Nor does it mean than Democrats have a corner on the non-traditional market. Every heard of the Log Cabin Republicans? That is a group of gay Republicans. And guess who used to support the Log Cabin Republicans, and worked with them to block a Federal amendment banning gay marriage? That's right -- John McCain!

But that was before McCain got born again as a NeoCon in 2004. Now McCain is against gay marriage.

          Flip. Flop.

Mccain's probleml know is he has to satisfy to many people and groups in his Base! I think this is where the flip floping has come from! I also believe when you are caught calling your wife horrible names, the world ought to reconize that for what it is "EMOTIONAL ABUSE". He indeed by doing this, shows little respect for women on any level! Also, my uncle had the same kind of cancer, and last Feb. he had band aid on his face, and I know what that means, so his Dr. flat out lied for him by saying he hasn't had reoccuring cancer in a year! Some thing alse, Mr Mccain suffers from Arthritis! Do you have any idea what kind of pain and sleeping problems that kind of arthritis cause"s? We'll I do, and I want to know if he is takeing pain pills, and sleeping pills and the dosage! My uncle was just as well, active and sound as Mr Mccain when he was 72 and he took a turn for the worse. The memory problems increased, and constant reminders had to be given. The pain, age, memory lose, and med's began to cut his awareness in half! On his 73 rd birthday he became ill. only a smalll cold , nothing to worry about they say, and he never recuperated from it or shook it off and went down hill darn fast. He was gone acouple months before his 74 th birthday. God rest his soul. But, I know about Mccains memory problems, anger, pain, illness's and what it cause's.War Hero or not------he's not fit to lead this country. He is not the Maverick of years ago or even seven years ago. He's a old man who's showing deteriation signs, and the media is failing to cover it .

Jupitor - Sen. McCain's health records have been released. There have been many medical commentaries in the press which say he is healthy, the only thing wrong with him is that he needed to lower his cholesterol a little bit. He has also had throughout the years psychological exams and nothing is wrong with him. Of course we should wonder about Sen. Obama, he has trouble recalling a lot of things he is saying and flip-floping within a matter of weeks. Do you think you should examine his short term memory now? Please let us know your findings.
To attempt to associate your "uncle" to Sen. McCain due to similar age is like my telling you... I know a lot of AA in their 40's and 50's who have died of strokes and heart attacks due to high blood pressure. It is just plain nonsense.

      • Posted By: Occam @ 06/08/2008 2:12:03 PM

Senator McCain released thousands of pages of detailed medical records. Obama released a one page 276 word opinion from his doctor saying he is healthy. Is Obama hiding something? Why didn't a young man release his entire medical history?

        • Posted By: Nins @ 06/09/2008 12:50:07 AM

Hello Occam. I'm a doctor and I can tell you that healthy 44 year old males do not have "thousands of pages" of medical records. Healthy young men only have a few pages: annual physicals, maybe they needed stitches or broke a finger or got an ear infection after scuba diving. Fourty four year old healthy men don't really need doctors. But 72 year old men who take five prescriptions medicines DO need doctors. The fact that McCain has hundreds of pages of medical records is a little disconcerting. (I do believe it was in the hundreds, not thousands, but I could be wrong.)

Sorry Gen, to keep busting on what you say, but as a physician myself I think that McCain has a lot more on his plate than "just needing to lower his cholesterol a little bit." McCain has high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Despite taking prescriptions for both of these conditions, his levels remain elevated. McCain's father and his paternal grandfather both died of massive heart attacks. With McCain's advanced age, personal medical history and his family history I would have to say that he is at significant risk of stroke and heart attack.

His recurrent cancer, colon polyps, arthritis and gout should not disqualify him from being President, but his cardiovascular issues sure do. If he was my patient coming in for a pre-employment physical I would advise him not to take on such a high stress position. And I would not clear him for the job until he got his blood pressure and cholesterol under control.

An excerpt from, "THE REAL MCCAIN"

" Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you ***." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days."

This guys is a sleezeball. This is the woman that he left his dying wife for.

Yes, she was unable to walk for quite a while after that car accident she was in (skidded on ice into telephone pole). But yes, she did eventually end up walking but with a limp. She definitely is not dead.

        Ok, how about this one........

Did John McCain betray US in Vietnam?
In his book, the Arizona Senator repeatedly expresses guilt and disgrace at having broken under torture and given the North Vietnamese a taped confession, broadcast over the camp loudspeakers, saying he was a war criminal who had, among other acts, bombed a school. "I felt faithless and couldn't control my despair," he writes. He writes, revealing that he made two half-hearted attempts at suicide. Most tellingly, he said he lived in "dread" that his father would find out. "I still wince," he says, "when I recall wondering if my father had heard of my disgrace."

Honestly Share, if you haven't made a choice by now - w/ all the info that we are privy to - and related those issues to yourself and your family's plights and goals, then you're either an idiot, or a liar. With all due respect, of course.

I do not plan on making my mind up until I feel comfortable with one of the three candidates to vote for. So Im still in research mode.

For any Democrat to even consider voting for McCain is bizarre. He is a dangerous man that will name persons to the Supreme Court that will destroy everything Democrats worked for since before WWII. Roe will go down. Voting Rights lost. Draft reinstated. Women and the middle class will pay dearly. We will be at war with Iraq, Iran, and the Russians. Please think what damage a vote for McCain will do to this country.

Or was I missled in eihter case if it is evan suspected that Mr Obama is not Eligibale for electon, and is elected. The lawers will grab the storie and run with it. Just like the recount in 2000 what a mess. Marc Berry, you "find the citizenship question a valid point"? Do you really think that Obama would be running if he weren't eligible to do so, if he weren't an American CITIZEN? Otherwise, I'm quite sure that Arnold Schwarzenegger would have run already for POTUS by now! The last time I checked Hawaii is one of the 50 AMERICAN STATES, and his Kansan American mother was an AMERICAN CITIZEN. That makes Obama an American. LOL You should really stop with the veiled "secret muslim terrorist, anti-/un-American," racist bs. It's getting really transparent and really old.

Apparently McCain did make a gaffe recently in a speech . . . where he said he ???would veto every single BEER . .??? It's obvious that he was thinking ahead as to what to say and merged the words 'bill' with the word 'ear-' to get the phonetic word being 'beer'. It was a funny gaffe given his wife is a millionaire in the beer industry. Here is what he said:

MCCAIN: 'I will use the veto as needed. I will veto every single beer ??? bill with earmarks,' he said, as rumblings from the crowd could be heard. ???And every single bill that we have come across my desk I will make them famous. I will veto them, you will know their names.'

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

McCain - My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialog with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

Obama - The chicken crossed the road because it was time for CHANGE. The chicken wanted CHANGE!

Clinton - When I was first Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely to ensure - right from day one - that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then... this really isn't about me...

G.W. Bush - We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either for us, or against us. There is no middle ground here...

Colin Powell - Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road...

Oprah - Well, I understand the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross the road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road, and not have to live his life like the rest of the chickens.

John Kerry - Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I an now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was mislead about the chickens intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it!

Pat Buchanan - To steal the job of a decent, hard working American!

Bill Clinton - I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

Al Gore - I invented the chicken!

Jerry Falwell - Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the plain truth?

Rev. Wright - That chicken was coming home to ROOST! GOD DAMN AMERIKKKA!!!

Hemmingway - To die in the rain...alone.

Al Sharpton - Why are all the chickens white?!? we need some black chickens!!!

Dr. Seuss - Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed, I've not been told.

Aristotle - It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

Grandpa - In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

Dick Cheney - Where's my gun?

Bill Gates - I have just released MS-eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Internet explorer is an integral part of eChicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#R&":*(reboot)...

Einstein - Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

micHELLe - For the first time in my adult life, I'm PROUD of that little chicken...

I WAS TROUBLED BY HIS COMMENTS.

UPON ARRIVAL, EACH WAS INTRODUCED TO ME.

I THEN LET LOOSE WITH MY FOREST GUMP IMPRESSION:

" I GOT TO BE GOOD."

I KNEW I WAS BEING REAL BAD AND FELT GUILTY.

SOME TIME LATER I WAS VISITING ANOTHER BROTHER IN LAW IN HOSPITAL.

HE HAD CANCER AND COULD NOT SPEAK.

HIS WIFE TOLD ME TO TELL THE FOREST GUMP THING AND I DID.

MY FRIEND COULD NOT SPEAK; BUT, HIS ARM MOVEMENT AND QUIET LAUGH TOLD ME IT WAS WORTH IT..

I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN, IN A HEART BEAT.

MY FRIEND DIED LATER ( CANCER, HE SMOKED ).

I HOPE I MADE HIM FORGET HIS PLIGHT FOR A MINUTE OR TWO.

McCain spent 5 years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam war and never gave up being an American. Obama spent years listening to his mentor, Mr. Wright, about how damned this country is. To this day Obama finds no fault in his mentor's views so much so that he offered his own grandmother as the sacrificial lamb.

So who would you like to be America's president?

    • Posted By: stopitnow@msn.com @ 06/09/2008 4:36:12 PM

EWhat did Rev. Wright say that was untrue? He said America was capable of planting HIV in the Black community, can you prove that they did not? As far as the other comments he made, use your head
African Americans have never led a revolution against this counrty, but Americans rebelled against the
      English government.nter Your Comment

      • Posted By: onepoker @ 06/10/2008 6:17:54 PM

and just who in America planted this HIV in the black community? You think Bush and Cheney asked Colin Powell and Mrs. RIce to leave the room for a minute while they had important business with Haliburton. Just acknowledging that no one can prove white america didn't plant HIV you are demonstrating an incredible amount of ignorance. The reverand Wright uses his profound intellect to stir up hatred and generate energy he uses to feed his ego and make money for himself. He has either completely lost touch with reality or he is a snake oil salesman for the modern day. Don't fall for his crap as white Americans it doesn't scare us that you Yell in Church. It concerns us when you Yell GOD DAMN AMERICA!!! in church. I must admit his speaking is phenominal and I wouldn't be surpirsed if Obama attended the CHurch just to hear and learn the reverends oratory skills but when the reverend tried to Sink Obama at the press club and the naacp thats when I saw the mans true character this wasn't a sound bite taken out of context this was a bitter and vicious merchant of hate not concerned with destroying his friend but more concerned with grandstainding and telling the world no one would tell him what to say or think, God was his only Guide . Unfortunately for Obama it was not God speaking but a vein old man who cast doubt on a promising if naive young follower.

      Blue,
You, like most Americans, don't get it.

My parents were 20 years old before they had the right to use a public drinking fountain. They went to dozens of funerals where the bodies were too mangled (from lynchings) to be displayed publicly. They've been spat upon simply for walking down the street.

They spent most of my life telling me not to trust white people, and I've spent most of my life telling them things are different.

I equate this to PTSD--just as the Vietnam vet may feel claustrophobic in certain situations, just as the Iraq War vet gets nervous driving under freeways. The same can be true for veterans of the civil rights movement -- they've seen our country at its worst, and they are deeply frightened that it could happen again.

Your attacks on their feelings only serve to reinforce them and will do absolutely nothing to improve race relations in this country.

Of course, this kind of introspection is probably too much for you to handle...

Joe, I know that of what you speak. I was raised in New Jersey in my childhood. there was not a lot of African Americans there then. I never heard of racism growing up. But then I moved with my family in my teens to the south & was appauled & puzzled at what I saw. Of course, since then, I along with most have read of the horrible things man can do to another human being. It really sickens me. And it stil occurs though more rarely. There was that awful incident in that Texas town. It goes to show it is how you are raised & the mind set put on children from their parents. We are a country made up of many peoples. I beleive that this thing called race should have a class in schools from kindergarten on up. I beleive children should be educated about the different peoples & their traditions & why & where these traditions come from to overcome the biases they learn as small children. If you put very young children together of every race, they get along just fine. Their will always be traditions that separate us & that is fine, but we should all learn to respect each others traditions & appreciate those differences. The US should be the country where all can live in peace, is this not what this country's ideals are founded on? I for one, appologize for my countrymen & the horrible & cruel things they have done & continue to do to this day. They are no better than the most evil serial killer. God bless you & your people.

Folks.....I have said it all before. Obama talks a good talk, but he can't 'walk the walk'! He is starting to collect a lot of baggage lately and people are starting to ask about the substance of the man! He want's CHANGE.... well, so does everybody else! The big trouble is that change does NOT come that easy in Washinton, D.C.

These are very troubling times for America from many points. The majority of working-class white Americans are NOT prepared to put a young, untested and inexperienced black man in the Oval Office, to run their affairs and the affairs of the USA! That is simply the way it is!

This is why the term blacks is used to describe us.

Obama is not black!! He is half white, 49percent Arab and the rest is african.
He is not black, so stop using the term black to describe him.
Call him cacusian or Arab, but not black. He is a strong believer in Marxism (see all his close friends).

      On the other hand,
He wife Michelle is black, not only in her skin color, but also in her heart.

I agree with everything except where you inserted race! I would take Colin Powell in a heartbeat as my president. Hell I think Oprah Winfrey would have merit as a politician she is a fantastic buisness woman more liberal than im comfortable with but she has experience.

Why Not? We've had plenty of untested white men in the White House. We all stood behind them. What's the problem?

what affairs are poor white people having that are so diffrent under any other administration if they dont get someone to get them better schools they will still be in the same place 10 years from now .still believing what ever there being told by the old white male establishment sitting and waiting for something that will never change

(((((((((((( STOP THE PRESS HOLD THE NEWS, OBAMA CAN NOT BE PREZ

*** Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President. *** Though Barack Obama was sent back to Hawaii at age 10, all the other info does not matter because his mother is the one who needed to have been a U.S. Citzen for 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those years being after age 16. Further, Obama may have had to have remained in the country for some time to protect any citizenship he would have had, rather than living in Indonesia. Now you can see why Obama???s aides stopped his speech about how we technically have more than 50 states, because it would have led to this discovery. This is very clear cut and a blaring violation of U.S. Election law. I think the Gov. Of California would be very insterested in knowing this if Obama were elected President without being a natural-born U.S. Citizen, and it would set precedence. Stay tuned to your TV sets because I suspect some of this information will be leaking through over the next several days???

      Mother is American stupid.
      What's your mother?

    • Posted By: nmcalpine @ 06/10/2008 3:28:40 PM

Barrack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii wich makes him a full citizen no matter what. You are stupid.

I don't think this has anymore merit than John Mccain being born in Panama and being disqualified. If 51% of the people vote for him I think he should be president.

I can understand not voting for Obama because of his lake of exsperience but it's not a good reason, you put smart people around you just like in life.I believe some whites are hell bent on keeping obama out the white house at all cost.Instead of looking for a reason to vote for him they are looking for a reason not to vote for him.especially white military men who has this good ol'boy mentality with more reasons not to vote for Obama just because it's what there drinking buddies or superiors say so they vote macain cause it says see I'm just like you buddy.ignorant and racist. Why are some whites such control freaks who refuse to have a black leader,or a black boss.

    • Posted By: onepoker @ 06/10/2008 6:05:10 PM

Maybe we disagree with his liberal voting record or are concerned that he really doesn't have a clue when it comes to international diplomacy but if its easier for you to just assume that when someone disagrees with you its because of the color of your skin you are in for a sad and disappointing life.
