Obama all CHANGE all the time:

CHANGE ... what you'll have left after I raise taxes.
CHANGE ... your gas prices upwards, but gradually
CHANGE ... my hat size because every day my head gets bigger
CHANGE ... the national motto to: In Obama We Trust.
CHANGE ... what I do to my story depending upon whom I'm talking to.
CHANGE ... what I do every day to my foreign policy
CHANGE ... what I do to my trade policy depending upon whom I'm talking to
CHANGE ... your lifestyle because the rest of the world doesn't like you
CHANGE ... my friends when they turn out NOT to be "The person I knew"
CHANGE ... what my radical left-wing ideologue handlers have in store for you
CHANGE ... what I do to facts to suit my needs.
CHANGE ... my pastor's screed is OK, yours isn't
CHANGE ... FISA line that we crossed but I have now moved back
CHANGE ... from public to private campaign financing because I can raise more money
CHANGE ... I'll debate John McCain anytime, anywhere; except when and where he asks me.
CHANGE ... the words of others and claim they're mine, because words count.
CHANGE ... the meaning of Bible verses to meet my own liberal world view
CHANGE ... more of you into victims of something and build government programs to take care of you
CHANGE ... you into a ward of the state so that I OWN you and your vote
CHANGE ... your mind and believe in me for I am the Obamessiah come to save you
CHANGE ... into giggling sycophants; liberal mainstream media do under the spell of the Obamessiah
CHANGE ... the chant I use to control the weak-minded Obamanized masses
CHANGE ... into an Obamatron; join the cult, repeat the chant: CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE ...
CHANGE ... what I plan to do to America because it's the greatest country on the planet.
CHANGE ... the national anthems of all the nations of the world to Kumbaya using my messianic foreign policy skills
CHANGE ... into mumble-mouthed idiot when I don't have prepared speech to read.
CHANGE ... historical facts to agree with my life story
CHANGE ... I said the DC gun ban was constitutional, but now I agree with Supreme Court ruling it unconstituional.
CHANGE ... what I said because my rhetoric was overheated and amplified
CHANGE ... but not for us, not the left-wing liberal elite, CHANGE is for YOU.
CHANGE ... anything and everything I've said or done in my life if it will help me win
CHANGE ... the definition of change to: What I say, when I say it, to whom I say it.
CHANGE ... I can CHANGE when it suits me
CHANGE ... you can believe in for a day or two
CHANGE ... you can't keep up with
CHANGE ... your underwear because you'll defecate in your pants when you wake up to find out what the left-wing liberal ideologues have done after gaining complete control of government.

CHANGE ... YOU better freaking BELIEVE IN because it will WORK YOU over.

TYLER - The price of oil swelled to another record high Monday morning - before dropping back. It almost hit $140 a barrel - but then fell 25 cents. It appears - a recent increase in oil output from Saudi Arabia -- is not driving down crude prices. Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, who started a bipartisan group called "American Solutions for Winning the Future" held little back at the Texas Republican Convention. He wants to use American solutions to change to the U.S. energy policy.

Simply put - he's fed up with Congress: "The problem is not big oil or the foreigners," said Speaker Gingrich. "The problem is not the Saudis. The problem is getting Congress to do it's job." And that job, he says, is to start using the energy we have. "Congress outlaws every conceivable energy source," said Speaker Gingrich. Gingrich is making his case for domestic drilling by launching a campaign with Actor Chuck Norris, with the slogan: "Drill here, Drill now, Pay less." The campaign is urging Congress to do something now to bring down gas prices. Speaker Gingrich also has thoughts on speculators. "It's people who are betting the U.S. is too dumb to produce (its own oil)."

He sides with East Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert -- when it comes to speculators and drilling. "If you began selling off two million barrels a day...we can pump out of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. It would immediately bring down the price of oil." Speaker Gingrich proposes selling off half of the reserve - now. "Do it suddenly..without telling anybody in advance and punish every speculator."The very speculators, he says, that are betting against America."

How destructive to the U.S. economy would a Barack Obama presidency be?

An exclusive Newsmax analysis warns: There could be a very rough time ahead.

Beneath Obama's flowery rhetoric lies a dangerous economic plan that will wreak havoc on the American economy.

Obama plans to return to the failed policies of high taxation coupled with an expansion of government spending.

Worse, Obama says he is absolutely committed to almost doubling the capital gains rate ??? something he will easily accomplish with a Democrat Congress.

In the coming months ??? when investors realize that Obama will raise the cap gains rate ??? there could be a stampede of asset sales as investors rush to take their profits now to avoid Obama's doubling of the tax rates next year.

All of these issues and more are explored in Newsmax magazine's special report "Obamanomics ??? the Coming Tax-and-Spend Nightmare," by Wall Street Journal columnist John Fund.

This Newsmax magazine special report gives Americans the first in-depth look at the Democratic presidential candidate's likely strategies ??? and how they will affect not just the larger economy, but your personal wealth as well.

Indeed, Obama makes no bones about his plans to go on a tax rampage. Not only would he increase the capital-gains tax rate from 15 percent to as much as 28 percent, he wants to allow the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts to expire in 2010, which effectively raises taxes on Americans by tens of billions of dollars.

He also wants to do away with the $102,000 FICA payroll tax cap, which means anyone making over $102,000 would pay an additional 7 percent in taxes on earned income.

And the loan dividend tax rate George Bush implemented? Under President Obama it will be DOA!

Newsmax????? Newsmax is nothing more than a propaganda shill for the Republican slime machine. I would no more pay a whit of attention to anything coming from Newsmax or the trolls who cut-n-paste their drivel than I would the insane pronouncements of Mahmoud Ahmadinijad.

        BUT NEWSWEEK IS RIGHTOUS ??

  • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 06/18/2008 1:02:15 PM

America has ALREADY voted for change! They were going show Bush in 2006! And we sure got CHANGE!

    Before Democrats controlled Congress:

    1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high.

    2) Regular unleaded gasoline was $2.19 a gallon.

    3) Unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

    1) Consumer confidence plummet.

    2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $4.00 a gallon.

    3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase).

    4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses).

    5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars; 1% of American homes are now in foreclosure.

    6) Oil was 63 dollars a barrel the day before the newest congress convened. It closed last Friday at 126 dollars a barrel. That is doubled for those with fuzzy math.

    7) Economic Growth for the 4th quarter of 2006 in GDP was 3.5 percent.

    8)1st Quarter 2008 0.6 percent.

Remember it's Congress that makes laws, not the President. The President has to work with what is handed to the Administration.

And of course we don't throw in the quagmire that we have been involved with before 2006. Nor do you throw in the market speculators who help raise the price of gasoline. Nor have you mentioned the housing market that had bad loans were made. Oh lets also throw in 30 billion dollars a month in our quagmire, a debt of 9.5 trillion dollars, our trade deficit...and what is this called, a perfect storm...you can blame congress, the president, the federal reserve, the price of the dollar, or anyone /anything else...but do a little bit more research because Macroeconomics is more complicated than your simple eight point presentation....

In a breakdown of top energy issues, you'll find the GOP is in favor of more options for energy than the Democrats.

    ANWR Exploration
    House Republicans: 91% Supported
    House Democrats: 86% Opposed

    Coal-to-Liquid
    House Republicans: 97% Supported
    House Democrats: 78% Opposed

    Oil Shale Exploration
    House Republicans: 90% Supported
    House Democrats: 86% Opposed

    Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Exploration
    House Republicans: 81% Supported
    House Democrats: 83% Opposed

    Refinery Increased Capacity
    House Republicans: 97% Supported
    House Democrats: 96% Opposed

That's startling information. Look at that again. Put another way, the Republicans are opposed to grinding our economy to a halt due to soaring energy costs and the Democrats are in favor of shutting down our economy and way of life.

    • Posted By: Nins @ 06/14/2008 9:55:29 PM

Chloe, what you fail to recognize is that all of the issues you raise (such as coal to liquid) are still PETROLEUM and do nothing to get us off of our oil dependence. Furthermore, none of them are renewable resources, and all of them are harvested at the cost of significant environmental destruction.

There are the reasons that Democrats have rightfully stood up against the legislation you have named. Democrats don't want to "throw good money after bad" by continuing to spend on petroleum products. We need to completely re-tool America as the world leader in clean, renewable energy. THAT is where the tax dollars should go, NOT to Bush and his cronies in the oil industry.

      • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 06/18/2008 1:09:43 PM

sorry nins but its gonna take a little while to get off oil so in the mean time we should use our own and stop using foregin oil if we drill and start using our oil then we control the prices not the speculators if they try and run the price up the feds should and will open up the reserves and make them (the speculators lose lots of money ) then not so long from now no matter who wins the election we will be free for foregin oil..... this should be done for the people by the people of this great country

Comment: IMPORTANT BULLETIN FOR ALL BLOGGERS ON THIS SITE:

    TO NEWSWEEK STAFF:

This is to report that there is a FRAUD going on, on this site, in which bloggers are using the names of various bloggers (Obama supporters are most likely the culprits) who are fraudulently writing blogs that are deplorable and tagging them under other bloggers names (non-Obama supporters names). I officially reported such a fraudulent abusive use of fake postings that I just viewed on this site today that affected me personally. This is what it said in which the blogger fraudulently used my name as the poster:

IT SAID THIS. I NEVER WROTE THIS. SO ALL OTHER POSTERS, ESPECIALLY FORMER HILLARY SUPPORTERS, BEWARE:

I NEVER wrote the above comment or ANY mention of Obama being a Messiah. At this point I am ready to bring this abusive process that you are using on your site to FOX NEWS as I have done this before and they are very responsive. I have copied this report to send onto the media if I dont see a stop to the smearing of my name or others on this site moving forward!

Sharenews, I felt suspicious of what you had posted, saying that someone else was using your username to post slurs against Obama. So I went on my husband's computer and tried to start a Newsweek account using your name "sharenews." I was given a message saying that Newsweek will not allow anyone to chose a name that is already in use, and that I had to pick another one.

I'm sorry sharenews, but what you have written is a bold-faced lie. I have lost all respect for you.

        Hi Nins,

I also didn't understand that, since I assumed that Newsweek would have safe guards in place to prevent that. I also defended her to other posters. That is until she, share is a she right? accused me of fabricating a post that I copied from the Puma website and referred to me as sad and pathetic, where the poster stated that since they supported Clinton that they could never vote for McCain. Share has been actively trying to persuade other Clinton supporters to cross over to McCain.

Sharenews is not an honorable person and I will never communicate with them again, DONE with them.

Is this guy for real are people going to allow him to take away our freedom, can people actually vote for somebody like this, this guy isn't even Prez, yet he is starting to make new laws NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH......

    DO YOUR RESEARCH?

For you that don't get it and feels McBush will give you a better 8 years I ask how is that when he has the same policies as the current President with the lowest ratings in Presidental history. If you are a democrat and feels disrespected by Hillary loss, I ask you to get pass this as you would fighting with your family, at some point you work it out. The democrats need to stand strong and vote our democrat in office with so much at stake. Here are more facts to why: Please keep an open mind. I don't expect the republicans to give a dam because there motto is to get richer and richer, no worries for our economy, the lower and middle class.

Behind the door of Army Spec. Jeremy Duncan's room, part of the wall is torn and hangs in the air, weighted down with black mold. When the wounded combat engineer stands in his shower and looks up, he can see the bathtub on the floor above through a rotted hole. The entire building, constructed between the world wars, often smells like greasy carry-out. Signs of neglect are everywhere: mouse droppings, belly-up cockroaches, stained carpets, cheap mattresses.Soldiers dealing with psychological disorders of their own have been put in charge of others at risk of suicide.

Disengaged clerks, unqualified platoon sergeants and overworked case managers fumble with simple needs: feeding soldiers' families who are close to poverty, replacing a uniform ripped off by medics in the desert sand or helping a brain-damaged soldier remember his next appointment.

What has McCain or Obama done to correct these issues? For anyone to point out what is wrong with this or that is great. But it seems they forget they have been on the job representing the people already and what has been done? Very little! Why haven't they done more to correct these issues? In fact McCain may be on top on this issue. He has been a voice for the vets. However I think he like Obama could have done more!

      • Posted By: griffin1 @ 06/10/2008 5:35:44 PM

They could have done more to a certain point, Mr. Bush has a habit his veto of bills that the democrats put forth, remember the republicans have always been the majority in the house. McCain is running a campaign right now for us all to see with the same policies as a President with the lowest rating in Presidental history.

Our Country need change just look at the proof over 36 million Americans voted democrat between Barack and Hillary, we democrats need to stand up and change our government but some people want another 8 years of this foolishness. I don't get it. Obama will prevail, I believe he will bring change and I along with millions of others will stand with him and see that change is made

        • Posted By: varacefan @ 06/10/2008 9:30:48 PM

You sound very sure of what you believe. Thats great! I however have a problem with this whole change thing. For sure some things need to change, but many of the people who are shouting change, change, change have no clue about what really needs to be done. Obama is good at telling each crowd what they want to hear. Many of whom are so poorly informed that they are voting blindly hoping he can deliver. I have a problem with that and think we have made a terrible mistake with Obama. I am not alone either. Many Dems are soft on Obama. Some believe he is a train wreck just waiting to happen. I've spent much time listening to him speak but have gotten little comfort from his words. Do not become over comfident, many are second guessing what we have done.

          • Posted By: VotersIssues @ 06/10/2008 10:15:54 PM

I agree with you as well, I've spent much time listening to him speak but have gotten little comfort from his words and no clue as to what this change really is. With the DIRTY Gang Thug toting CHICAGO POLITICS he played that may very well be the only change he will make to Washington. Do not become over comfident, many are second guessing what we have done.

            • Posted By: griffin1 @ 06/12/2008 5:10:43 PM

you are second guessing, let the man campaign or would you prefer more Bush years.
Look there is no perfect candidate, but the person I put my vote on is not a Washington insider who has all the connections, who will get in there and forget about all the promises made.

Obama is not an insider and I look forward to him working hard for your vote

          • Posted By: griffin1 @ 06/10/2008 10:19:43 PM

You say you have a problem with the whole change thing, McCain mentioned change in his speech over 20 times and I don't wont his kind of change, we need change opposite of Bush change. You said you listened to Obama speeches and got little comfort. Why think so negative that he is only speeches, what if he proves you wrong, I see a man trying fix our corrupt government, I wonder why so many refuse to have an open mind and give him a chance to campaign. People are looking for relief and he is campaigning for relief, he is taking action against accepting money from the lobbyist, you cant say the same for the republicans. There are so many reasons why I would put my chances with Barack Obama & Hillary over McCain

  • Posted By: I_hear_the_voices @ 06/12/2008 5:03:22 PM

Right on!! I've been saying this all along for months to anyone who will listen. Virginia is THE key battleground state, bar none, and the Obama campaign is apparently well aware of that fact. Forget Florida, West Virginia, and Ohio. Don't need 'em! That's why I keep saying that Jim Webb should be the top pick for VP. He'll help with those veterans and Appalachian voters who went for Hillary in the primary. Besides, Webb brings a huge amount of foreign policy and defense experience with him.

The race to compare '08 with is NOT Kerry v Bush 2004, but Bush v Gore 2000, when it wasn't about re-electing an incumbent to a 2nd term. To win in a squeaker, Obama needs only to hold the states Gore won, plus pick up Virginia. That EV score would be 273-265. Anything more would be icing on the cake. Obama also stands to pick up some red states in the West, including Colorado, Nevada, and Montana. Georgia is a long shot pickup in the South, but I wouldn't bet money on it. If early election night returns show Obama winning in Georgia, then you'll know we've got an historical landslide on our hands. However, Obama needs to mount a strong defense in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, all must-win states for the Dems.

"When he came home and saw that Carol was not the beauty he left behind, he started running around on her almost right away. Everybody around him knew it. Eventually he met Cindy and she was young and beautiful and very wealthy. At that point McCain just dumped Carol for something he thought was better."

John McCain is the classic opportunist. He's always reaching for attention and glory, he said. After he came home, Carol walked with a limp. So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona. And the rest is history.

McCain was asked today if he had any idea when the troops would come home, his response was "That's not too important, what's important is the casulties of our troops.

families are stating McCain should no better than to make such statement, it is clear that McCain will keep our troops in the war for quite sometime. With no exit plan he continues to respond by saying they will stay the course. Finally, John McCain was speaking with a group TODAY and tried to quote Obama and was way off base.

There is no way this man will ever receive my vote, my vote will make a difference in our government and I pray we have a democrat President in office to help get us back on track.

Is there a virginian on Obama's list for vice president?

      Jim Webb

Doesn't matter. They've named a bunch, but Warner doesn't want to, and the rest of them won because of him - not because we like them personally. VA is a very "what have you done for me" state. The Clintons brought us into prosperity. Warner ended our budget crisis. We may go blue, but only with Hillary on the ticket. The % in the VA primary isn't accurate - Obama still would've won, but narrowly, if the ice storm hadn't shut down the entire DC metro area.

She's gotta be on the ticket. 36 million votes - 18 for her, 18 for him - come on - that's a no-brainer. Her side may still vote Democrat, but we won't campaign or contribute if she isn't offered the VP slot - and we need to have all the numbers up so we can steamroll the Republican machine. It's all quiet right now, because they can't deliver fatal blows until the Democratic Convention makes his nomination official in August. The Obama side needs the Clinton people - we know how to win. We're the loyalists, and the political junkies.

brian -- you're analysis doesn't make sense to me. I lived in Northern Virginia most my life -- in Florida now and really miss the Commonwealth!. Northern Virginia is Obama's demographic. -- upscale, college educated, younger than the state in general. I would think Hillary's strongholds would be the southwest and Tidewater, not Northern Virginia. Just curious.

I think that even with Hillary's big turnout and the strength of her Democratic supporters, she still personally polls with high, even majority, negatives in national polls. If Obama wants to court Independents and dissatisfied Republicans, this is a red flag.

If Obama is running as a "change" candidate -- if this is the rationale for his candidacy -- does it make sense to add a Clinton to the ticket? Hillary positioned herself as the establishment candidate. She voted for the war in Iraq and the resolution on Iran and she threw her lot in with the neocons and their worldview. How would adding her to the ticket support Obama's call for change?

Another problem is Bill -- Obama won't put Hilary on the ticket unless Bill's foundation books are vetted and so far, Bill won't open the books. And there's probably good reason for that. Bill's foundation does a lot of good work -- but no one knows who Bill "owes" for providing the capital. Obama can't risk having some of the more creative contributions some to light in the middle of the campaign.

Finally, Is Hillary really a team player? Putting her on the ticket might help win the election, but will it help govern? Is Hilary likely to set up a government-in-waiting in the Executive Office Building? I don't know the answers. But if I have questions, I'm sure the Obama people also have big questions on this.

Hillary is a Democrat, and will fight tooth and nail regardless.

Yes, the Demographics are more pro-Obama, but there's the beltway factor. People know politics here, and don't blame the Clintons for playing the game - they thank them.

Hillary voted to authorize and fund the war in Iraq - and Obama wasn't in office to vote against it. He says he doesn't know what he would have done - we were already stuck there, since the president launched a unilateral attack without authorization. She was also lied to.

The things people say about Hillary are absolutely insane - it's conspiracy theory at best, paranoid schizophrenic more likely. She's an absolutely amazing citizen of this country, that has used every opportunity given to her to try to better our world.

The change candidate needs someone familiar and vetted; nobody's arguing with that.

And the Hillary supporters are needed - not just their votes, but their money, volunteerism, social influence on different demographic areas, etc etc. They'll be energized to put an Obama/Clinton ticket into the White House.

Any Obama supporter would be fighting to put him on the ticket if she was the nominee.

Brian, are you implying that somehow Obama supports could brave an ice storm, but Clinton's could not?

Besides, the Clinton/Obama controversy is over. We have to move on, and fight McCain, who would be an horrifically bad President. Clinton will be a big player in Obama's cabinet, whether it is as VP or in some other capacity.

        • Posted By: brian.reach @ 06/09/2008 3:50:35 PM

And the point of my comment wasn't fighting that Obama's our nominee - just that Hillary is really the only choice for VP that will help the Democratic Party solidify.

I'm saying the Beltway Clinton supporters slept in their cars.. on the beltway, which was shut down for 6 hours - ENTIRELY, as was I-95. It was a nightmare - it took me over 2 hours to get to my polling place after a horrendous commute home, and I left WAY early and was 15 mintues from the deadline. The AA population of VA is down near the beach. Not that everything's along racial lines, but people LOVE the Clintons in Northern VA - plus the "working class" up here were all stuck in a neverending rushhour. That paired with the AA communities in Richmond and the Tidewater area, and McCain's toast. Plus, with both of them on the same ticket, both sides of supporters will start talking BOTH of them up, which will heal wounds.

          • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 06/10/2008 9:36:17 PM

Actually, the junior senator is the most recently elected senator from a given state. Hillary Clinton is junior senator from New York, while Chuck Schumer is the senior senator. John Kerry is the junior senator from Massachusetts, while Ted Kennedy is the senior senator. Newly elected Jim Webb is the junior senator from Virginia, while John Warner is the senior senator. However, since Warner is retiring, the new Virginia senator will be "junior" while Webb, who has been in office only 4 years, will be "senior." It has nothing to do with age. or total number of years in office. It's just who got elected first in the state.

BTW -- John Kennedy WAS the junior senator from Mass. His family was in politics, but it was his brother, Joe, who was groomed to run for office, Jack took up the cause when his brother was killed. At the time he began his career (1948) there's really was no such thing as a community organizer. Irish pols in Massachusetts were pretty close, however, because they looked out for their people. But community organizing is a good training for a president, I think, because it places someone close to the people that need to be served. Community organizers learn firsthand what resources are available and what resources are needed. they learn the best way to get services to people. They have experience motivating people to improve their lives because community organzing is about taking charge of your own community to make it better. They have experience negotating between disparate interests. It's kind of like when Bobby Kennedy went to the Mississippi Delta and discovered that there were hungry people in America and then designed a presidentiali campaign around his discovery. A community organizer does that day in and day out. Community organizers confront the domestic problems of the nation on a daily basis.

Kennedy was a commander in the military. He had more experience.

I'm still voting for Obama (although I'm waiting for his VP choice to commit), but let's make sure we continue to respect all the leaders we've had in the past.
