    No, it's not a myth, but it is an artificial "controversy" based on lies and innuendo perpetrated by neocons, misguided HRC supporters, her failed campaign and, unfortunately some of the racial tensions that have been hot between Jewish and African American communities for quite sometime.

      When a leader makes too many mistakes, we [pay the price. See Bush and Carter as examples. Wait I made a mistake, Earth pays the price for their m istakes, not only the USA.

      I don't want in the WHa rooky that takes him 13 months for him to come up with a correct policy to handle the situation in Iraq. It took Obama 13 months to move from "I will remove the US forces from Iraq "on day one" than he had intermediate positions (basically moving and copying like a Monkey HRC positions), and now he is finally saying "it will take a year or more to remove the USA forces, and we will leave a contingency force in Iraq, and by the way we will have forces, near Iraq and Iran to come backm if needed", I will not support the learning costs of a rooky.

      We will pay the price for all his mistakes, and his learrning costs.

    If I were Jewish - I would question Obama's old pals Ali Abunimah, Rashid Khalidi, and Jeremiah Wright who are all pro-Palestinian. Beyond that - I would question Obama on the antisemitic statements he recently had scrubbed from his campaign website. His choice of friends over the past twenty years have been pro-Palestinian...and apparently the Israelis don't have as much confidence in Obama's friendship to Israel - shortly after his speech came the dire warning to Iran.

    Obama and his wife are socialists - she wants people to give up a piece of pie so others can have more- he advises college grads to go into community service. Given that he is the most ambitious Senator we've seen in years, I don't know how he can tell others not to follow ambitions. I guess he thinks we don't need anymore inventors, scientists, and leaders for American successes.

    Bill Gates should've organized voters or baked cookies for the poor instead of inventing windows.

      Considering the growth in the disparity of income in this country -- the largest in history -- it is time that people outside the richest 10% of the country SHOULD get more than the crumbs. It is time that the top income brackets and corporations pay their fair share of the tax burden. The middle class has been soaked long enough. From the NYT 3/29/07:

      "The new data also shows that the top 300,000 Americans collectively enjoyed almost as much income as the bottom 150 million Americans. Per person, the top group received 440 times as much as the average person in the bottom half earned, nearly doubling the gap from 1980."

      Secondly, you do know, don't you, that Obama began his career in public service as a community organizer earning little money? He turned down more lucrative job offers to work for the improvement of impoverished neighborhoods. Like John Kennedy and Robert Kennedy, he extoled and embodied the viture of service to the country.

        Perhaps he was not good enough to receive any offers and did not hjave a choice but to take the only thing available to an empty suite, i.e. become a community organizer.

          Well people find these things out pramono by researching issues. They go to www.snopes.com, they go to www.dividedwefail.org, www.factcheck.org, go to Google News and read as much as possible about the candidates.

          My fellow blogger, I am not here to argue your points, I could tear them into pieces. HDavidson has already done so in a prior posting... and I may have also... I want you to see that when a person says things without backing them up, you sound like you haven't researched your statements.

          I have learned a lot of things looking at other people's viewpoints, whether they are antisemetic, bigotted, or reasonable. That is why I started to blog as a hobby to learn, and grow. I know more than I ever did before I ever started to blog.

          A final comment....The issues this country faces today is not a sole Republican or Democratic issue, rather it falls back to all of us, WE elected our officials, and WE let our power go to our government unchecked over the last eight years. The pendulum needs to be in the middle, not to either extreme. Our country is in the worst shape it has been in years..

          It is our responsibility as citizens to exercise the power of the pen, power of the blogs, power of voting to make our country turn around and to bring it back to a leadership position once again. Remember the words "We the People"

                I never said he failed as a Community Organizer. I said that he learned from it and knew that his calling was to be to help others in the community and to push them to help themselves.. That is the other guy/gal that stated something about failures in their blog. I just responded to it. I put together a full blog elsewhere (above somewhat?) that explains that although he was unable to make a great dent into the blight of the area he was try to work with the community to improve, it pushed him on to try to get into a greater position or role in the community to have more power to get things done, thus his run and win to become Illinois senator..

            MY summary: Obama did not have significant accomplishments that came out of his years serving as a community organizer to justify as part of his experience to be worthy of him running for President, but it was a period of time in which he knew he wanted to be involved in a greater capacity to assist people in defining their mutual interests and working together to improve their lives in the community. This eventually drew him into the political arena where he ran for and got the seat of Illinois Senator.

              So what? That's your opinion. He's not a miracle worker. I'm sure it will be hard work trying to clean up Washington as well, without any guarantee of success. However, I'd rather support a candidate that is actually talking about fixing things, then those so jaded they believe things will always be the same.

        It is such a shame that JFK could not extol and embody common moral values in his personal/political life and even more of a shame that the press hid this behavior from the voters who blindly elected him. Because we could not know about the dirty life of JFK we the voters had to endure the Cuban Missile crisis, the Bay of Pigs fiasco, the "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" trash incident, and ultimately a bloody assasination that put the entire free world at risk. Oh, but how the press loved JFK and they are just as smitten with Obama. The mainstream press can not be trusted with tell the American public what they need to know. All people should have their first amendment rights protected and the press will not let this happen. Obama has some skeletons in his closet both in private life and public dealings and I would hope the press would not hid them from the voters of this country. Sound like you are referring to an enternal handout. it is countless people in that 10% that got up of their buts and worked hard for their wealth. It wasn't just handed to them.     I will be proud of the day when Obama will put the interest of America before the interest of Israel and not be crucified for it. America has a hidden obligation to support, represent & defend the Jewish state, whether or not they are wrong or right on any issue. The real problem is, Obama does not have the intrinsic capabilities to manage & execute the responsibilites of the President of the United States of America. With this said, he should be removed from the status as the democratic nominee & replaced with someone possessed with a far higher degree of political wisdom & experience. I will give a count of infinity, stop, don't answer, wtf is the difference if someone mentions his mother and father in a speech? Is that the premise of what makes a good potential president?         Bush mentiuoned his mother Barbara many times, Gore mentioned his mother, HRC mentioned her mother, McCain mentioned his mother, Bill Clinton mentioned his mother.

        I find it strange that Obama never mentioned his mother. I always look not only at what candidates say or do, but also at what they avoid saying. If you pay attention to what they avoid saying, you can learn a lot about that person.

        Do you speak any African languages? have you met the different tribes in Uganda, Ghana, Kenia, Somalia, Sudan, Zibabwaie, South africa, Namibia,....

        Obama does not have the features typical to Kenyan tribes, he has the features typical to Kenyan/Arab muslims.

      I don't have a problem with muslims, in fact I admire some of the Muslim traditions. The problem is the Muslims who can't seperate themselves from Terrorist and suicide actions. This stands in contrast to the recent traditions of the western and actually most of the rest of the world.

        Go read and learn, Carter did nothing to help the peace deal between Egypt and Israel, it was Saadat and Dayan who in secret meetings came up with the process and the methods to reach a peace deal.

        I spent time talking to egeyptians and Israelis involved in the process. The main credit goes to Kissinger who during the 73 war stopped israel from destroying completely (killing) the Egyptian army, they were sourounded in the dessert without water and it was a question of one to two days for them to die from thirst. Kissinger convinced the Israelis to allow a supply of water to them. This impressed Saadat som much that he decided to take the peace direction Carter had nothing to do with it, and in fact during the negotiations between Begin and Saadat he almmost killeld the process with his stupidity.

        Regarding the federal reserve, you should learn "the buck stopps here..), Carter is good at blaiming everyone else for his failures, are you trying tom con vince me that he was a good president, when everyyone agrees that he was a total disaster? How comme Clinton was able to balance the budget and improve the economy with the same Federal reserve????

        I don't want in the WH that takes 13 months for him to come up with a correct policy to handle Iraq. It took Obama 13 months to move from "I will remove the US forces from Iraq on day one" than he ahd intermediate positions (basically movin g and copying like a Monkey HRC positions), and now he is finally saying "it will take a year or more to remove the USA forces, and we will leave a contingency force in Iraq, and by the way we will have forces, near Iraq and Iran to come backm if needed", I will not support the learning costs of a rooky.

      See the thing for me when I saw the article, Obama admits his past failures, what was right, and what went wrong. This human side is not normally shown in the political arena. And when was the last time McCain talked this way about anything he failed at doing?

      I was a huge McCain fan in 2000. The world is in a much different place. And the United States is bogged down in a quagmire, gasoline prices are making people choose between eating and getting gasoline so they can go to work. The economy is in the toilet.

      I said in prior postings, and I will say it again, McCain is slipping a little bit. He is saying one thing and meaning another. I think it is a sign of his age...again it saddens me to say those things...every person has slips, no question, but the types of slips I am seeing are on the scary side...that a possible president cannot afford to make....

    Obama has more of the quailities required of a president than anybody in recent history to have ran. He has shown dignity, restraint, maturity, confidence (not ego), faith, compassion, TRUE courage, HONESTY, dierctness, he listens, he ANSWERS, he is intelligent (among the "elite"), love for his country and it's people beyond any other candidate, he represents honest and real change, he speaks from his heart not his wallet. He has been POOR and on welfare, he knows what's it's like, he TRULY is a man of the people. AND he can admit when he is wrong (mccain/bush/clinton will never admit fault).
    He has 1 more year of experience than Lincoln and 1yrs less than JFK. So what is your point, that he does not have all the BAD habbits of "experienced" politicians, that he does'nt know the "game"?
    The "NEW GAME" is what matters, honesty, dignity, strength, compassion, restraint, GOOD judgment, intelligence, that is the "NEW GAME" and it's not a "game", it's how it should be. When it comes to that, McCain, Clinton, Bush, Clinton1, are the ones lacking the "intrinsic capabilities".
    Obama, unlike the other candidate, LOVES the CONSTITUTION, taught constitutional law, McCain can't ever say "constitutional". Let alone uphold it.
    Now if you doubt me, prove me wrong, show me how any one of the words used to describe Obama can be applied to either McCain or Bush (or even clinton). Now don't make a fool of yourself, be smart and answer clearly, but show me...please ;)

      Don't get me wrong, I do not dislike Obama, he has interesting potentials but they need to be developed & tested on a wider scale in the political spectrum. Right now you have exagerrated his capabilities, this is what you will like him to be, but it is not who he really is. Let me tell you bluntly, I am no fool, foolish are the people who support Obama for president, foolish are the people who fell for his charm endorsed by his magnficent oratory skills. Let's examine his political exposure & see what we got. We have a rookie senator who is likeable, thus be became electable & that's all there is to it. Obama was able to convince his supporters that he has the solutions to the numerous problems facing the American nation, both national & international. In his campaign address to the public, Obama did what all politicans must do, tell the people what they want to hear & fortunately they believed that he will deliver in accordance with his campaign promises - perfectly normal. However, their belief is based not on his capabilities but on their admiration for him as a person, they developed a natural likeness for him, it cannot be explained better than that. Admiration is a powerful expression, it could take you to places where you do not deserve to be & this is exactly the case with Barack Obama.

      As for some of the other qualities you mentioned, true courage: McCain enlisted in the military to fight in the Vietnam War. Two of his sons are in the military, and one has fought in Iraq. So honor is a family tradition. McCain was also a POW, and when his captors said they would let him go because his father was an admiral, he refused to be used in their propaganda and refused unless they released his fellow prisoners. He refused special treatment.

      And as for compassion: John and Cindy McCain adopted a baby from Mother Teresa's orphanage, named Bridget. She would have died if they hadn't brought her back to the states. They also brought back another baby which was adopted by one of McCain's aides.

      As for intellegence, McCain's demostrated that he tried to do the right thing even if it's not popular. Like going against the tobacco industry back in the 90's. Or supporting stem cell research when the conservatives in his party disagree. And going "green" and supporting enviromental issues. He also opposes partial-birth abortion (except on life of mother), which is better than Obama who seems to think that having a baby born and then crushing it's skull is okay by him.

      Obviously he must not be the horrible guy democrats are saying now, when just 4 years ago, there was talk about having him run as Kerry's VP.

He was was a poor student, who spent most of his time drinking, and soliciting prostitutes.         He DID do over 30 propaganda films for the VC, so you're WAY off there. He received such treatment because the first thing the COWARD said when he was captured was "my daddy's an Admiral!"

        He as turn his back on the nations POWs to whom he swore he would NEVER use his "POW" status for political gain...what was that tour he did just last summer?

        He turned his back on our sons and daughters fighting now when he did not even have the courage to show up to vote AGAINST the new GI BILL which supports our troops fighting these wars, and their families, why does he hate our troops?

        As for his kids "serving" their a$$es should be on the front lines until it's over and the last American is home, period, daddy wants our kids to die for OIL, his should be the first to go, anything less than that is just more political theatre.         I think both men are of deep faith and conviction. However, faith alone is not enough to make a future president. We have had a president for these last eight years who was deep in his convictions of fatih, and where has that led our country? I see that there are certain things about Obama that H Davidson touched on that cannot be measured except for calling it perhaps character.

        I said in a earlier posting that I think McCain of now is not the same person as he was back in 2000. I see a man who, unfortunately, and believe me I don't like saying this about anyone, perhaps losing it a little bit. If you asked me eight years ago about McCain I would have said that his character, his faith, and convictions would be someone I could look up to, and admire.

        However, when I see him now, I think he is all over the map, trying to please everyone, rather than being the maverick that he claims to be and put out one message. Especially worrisome is his pandering message to the voters that he wants to temporarily stop the federal tax on gasoline. Would he have said that eight years ago? I don't think so even if the cost of gas was high...thats the character flaw that is going to hurt McCain in the long run.

        I think that having faith is important, and is one part of a persons character. Having conviction of faith is fantastic. However, character of the people running for president is going to be much more important in this election than prior elections.
