Obama seeks Hanuman???s blessing for presidential race

New York, June 9 : It???s unusual. But, it???s a fact. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic party???s presidential nominee, is seeking the blessings of Hindu god Hanuman in his battle for the White House.


The 46-year-old senator from Illinois, who defeated his rival Hillary Clinton in an epic 17-month long electoral battle for Democratic party nomination, carries a ???tiny monkey god??? apparently representing ???Hanuman??? with him for good luck.

A recent photo posted on Time???s White House Photo of the Day collection shows the first ever Black-American nominee of a major US party for the Presidential elections carries with him a bracelet belonging to an American soldier deployed in Iraq, a gambler???s lucky chit, a tiny monkey god and tiny Madonna and child.

That ???tiny monkey god???, of course, appears to be a statue of the Hindu monkey god

I find it very insightful that Senator Lieberman was not sought out for his comments on this article. I would think that Americans are owed more respect for our intelligence than to blindly believe what a campaign thug says off the record. But, it seems that the MSM is taking it's lead from the blogs, and truth no longer matters Oh that's right, you are a part of NBC - 'nuff said.

As we speak,PEWs People and the Press has a new poll which finds that whatever small trust the American people have in the media is being run into the ground,with more than four in five Americans stating flatly that they do not trust the press. jamrock66, there's one major flaw in your knowledge. none of the members of the different faiths you've listed below recognize Allah, God, or Jahovah as one-in-the-same. Christians obviously believe the path to God is through Crist, Jews believe in the name of God which the know as Jahovah and no other, and Muslims follow Muhammed on the path to Allah while Crist was merely a profit. Point - Your "knowledge" is wrong.

[For the small minority of Newsweek's readership who still value accurate news reporting over partisan advocacy] National Review Online totally demolishes this story.
It is really sad to see so much of the media drop even the pretense of neutrality or even handedness. I hope it backfires on them before the election and independent voters react negatively to the effort to manipulate them. If the media succeed and get Obama elected, I can only hope the public holds them responsible for the ensuing disaster.

Does unaware hold meaning for some people. There are people in Mexico with the name Omar and in Spain some women are named Fatimah... these people are not Muslim, it is just a name. Names don't always represent belief. The ignorance of some people is beyond bewildering. Someone should take their keyboards away.
Obama at least seems like an honest politician( though that might sound like a contradiction in these times).
His tax cut deal seems worth a try and more realistic for fixes "Bush and Friends" mistake that only the ignorant and blind would deny, but if your rich and a oil tycoon then choose McBush... I mean McCain.
