    Somebody made sense earlier. The way most white-americans are treating Obama, it is like the book "Mein Kampf." Hitler was proud of America for there hatred towards black people. We tell other countries how to treat other people and yet, we are going right back to the book Mein Kampf. This would make Hitler smile in his grave.

    AIPAC is a surrogate for the right-wing in Isreal. The organization has been successful in countering criticism of Israel by branding such criticism as somehow antisemitic. Having Israel as the largest single recipient of US foreign aid doesn't seem to satisfy this group. They have been successful in moderating US objections to the continued construction of settlements in Palestinian territory and the continuation of policies that even some in Israel refer to as apartheid. Lieberman has always been a whore for Israel, right or wrong. His endorsement of John McCain should be a clear warning that a pre-emptive attack on Iran is on the way. I surrport Israel's right to exist, but I also support equity in our dealings in the Middle East. Israel has nuclear weapons, but there is no call for them to become a member of the Non-proliferation Treaty. Why AIPAC! There is no doubt that this group is willing to sacrifice American lives and treasure to further Israeli policies of land aggrandizement. I also fear that this group uncritical support for Israel and their very substantial financial influence insures our continued involvement in the Middle East in a direction in which there will ultimately be no compromise opportunities left. I am sorry to see so much pandering to this organization.

      Absolutely. There are many 'jewish' voters fed up with the attitude that Israel comes first at any and all costs. They feel first and foremost American not Israeli. Furthermore, criticizing Israel is not automatically being antisemetic, enough with that.
      There is a new jewish lobby group in DC called J Group, essentially it was created to press the govt to be tougher with Israel in order to find a peace solution . Read this article http://www.newsweek.com/id/138784. It will be interesting to see how they do; they surely cannot be dissed as antisemetic...

    The Jewish electorate is not monolithic. It contains Republicans, Democrats, liberals, conservatives, politically astute, and politically uninformed, and people of every walk of life. But Obama does have a problem with some of the Jewish voters. It is some of the older generation who harbor racist sentiments against blacks. There are not too many, but there are some. But the problem is not that they are Jewish it is that they are ignorant, just like any other bigotted voters in any other ethnic group, and just like some of those in lower economic groups who use code words to say that he is "this" or he is not "that" but their objection "has nothing to do with race." You bet it does. Some of the old timers just grew up in a time when blacks were looked upon as objects of scorn, And of course, it is a human trait to need someone to look down upon, which explains why racism persists, even though it is losing its hold on all but a few.

    I personally didn't see anything disrespectful, and why is it when we don't agree with someone we frame the contributor's comments as devisive, disrespectful, racist, or some other than what the person is saying. Respect the comments and the person. America is made up some many different cultures that no one party or no one race can claim anything over others. We will stand or fall together, and I'm actually happy that there are more strong minded Americans than there are fools to allow us to unite and make an intelligent decision about where we are headed in this country. No darn favoritism or racism, just doing what's right for all of us.

    I believe that if the Jewish voters in this nation are educated and politically astute, which I believe them to be, then Obama will lose their vote. He has said several times that he wants to personally sit down and negotiate with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran and the creep who has publicly and blatantly stated that Israel "should be wiped off the map." The same man who wants to develop nuclear weapons for "peaceful purposes", yet still annihilate Israel. The man who denies that the Holocaust ever happened. Sure. Obama wants to sit down with him, shake his hand, and appease him? Didn't Chamberlain, British prime minister before Churchill, sit down with Hitler before WWII and appease Hitler's desires? How did that work out for the Jews? I'd like to see if any Jewish voters will go for that. Obama has shown his foreign policy ineptness. That is something that the world's most powerful nation cannot afford today.

    As a Jew, I know that Senator Obama will carry at least seventy-five percent of the Jewish vote since Jews tend to be fiscal, social, and national security liberals. They will not let McCain's rhetoric that plays on their fears stop them from voting in favor of their liberal views.

    Isael is important to both America and the free world. To suggest any American president would abandon her, is false. Obama is being accused falsely. I am a Clinton supporter and no matter what, I would never vote for McCain. This is the Republican way to try to get Democrats to vote for him. Just remember how they discredited Kerry. They stop at nothing!! Obama is surrounding himself with very intelligent and worthy people who will take American interests at heart. That is what we want. We also need to support Israel to have a stable middle East. Obama is not stupid - maybe that is what McCain would have us believe. I am not falling for it - I hope others do not!!

    As a Jew, I can say with full confidence that Sen.Obama will carry seventy-five percent of the Jewish vote since Jews vote based off their liberal Democratic viewpoints. Jews care about Israel, but Iraq, the economy, and health care are also priorities.

    Obama has no "Jewish problem" at all. Right-wing neo-Con Jews have been attempting to portray Obama as weak on Israel because they want the Republicans to win and are consciously lying to hurt him. They will be exposed and by the time of the election there will be a 20 to 25% Jewish vote for McCain -- the same percentage of Jews who support the neo-Cons.

    I see the conservative nut cases are out in full force today. For anyone who wants to undertand "authoriatarian conservative" trend that has decemated the American way, you should check out John Dean's book "Conservatives Without Conscious". It turns out that the Bush administration has nothing to do with classic conservatism and represents a distortion and disturbing variant of the conservative philiosophy.

    Reading it has helped me not get so angry at the nutty conservative posts I read. It explains why authoritarians abhor logic and reason and instead simply call names. It sheds light on why conservatives really think that calling Obama "Hussein" is legitimate political criticism. I know I feel better after having read it, because people who have no grasp of reason drive me crazy.

Yes, I care about Israel. Where would you get intelligence (Oh, that's right - we're about to enter a time of peace with terrorists because our president will be a motivational speaker. You have never sat with someone who has lost family over there and seen the pain and the grief.         The book is a complete dissection of the difference between the radical, deadly strain of conservatism that has hijacked the Republican party, and the classical strain that those like William F. Buckley and Bary Goldwater espoused.

        If you are a classic conservative, my hat goes off to you and I would love to have a respectful, spirited debate regarding political philosophy. If you are a nutty "authoritarian" conservative, then there is no respectful debate to be had.

        I don't get all my reassurances from one book. This is just the latest book that I've read that is very interesting. For another, try "American Fascists" about the psychotic religious right. I read that book last year, but it might be of particular interest to you.
