Jeez people ya'll sure have trouble sticking to the topic don't ya?
As I read thru the comments this seems more about the campaign than whether or not someone has the right top be depressed after losing a really close contest. Don't you think?

Word of advice... If you are in fact "depressed" or feel as such; please seek out the approriately licensed MENTAL HEALTH/PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFESSIONAL and admit yourself for adaquate therapy... Said Helath Care Specialists should be able to proscribe the applicable medication.
Mental Health is not a joke (as was HILLARYOUS' BID FOR PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE:)... Not to be hateful or vasicious, HILLARYOUS SHOULD HAVE BE COMMITED TO A MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY AND KEPT FOR INDEFINITE OBSERVATION, IN ORDER TO ASSURE THAT, SHE ISN'T A THREAT TO HERSELF NOR ANY OTHERS:)
Good health and well-being to all and...
OBAMA IN '08)
I think the "O Team" blogger is the one who needs medical help. Such hatred coming through over an election campaign? Wow! Get a life!
She is a hard-driving old gal,, as tough as they come,,and sure, She may hit a low note or two, but she wont quit or fade out,,she will be back/ and maybe if there is a lesson in all of this fighting it is that this time she will be running for all the 'right' reasons; not to prove that she, a women can hang with the best of the boys, but because she wants to serve her country and wants the best for all it's people and is pledged to loyalty of purpose above all for this nation's future..
I agree with you, I believe she is not going away, she'll be back in four years from January 09. I know she will be much more ready than ever, she is a fighter and will will prevail the next round.
Would age not be a concern in 2013 for HRC?
Clinton, Obama, McCain - all of America should be asking where we can get a job that pays almost 200k a year with benefits, take as much time off as we want traveling around the country courting another job and not lose anything in the process. You win you go to the WH, you lose you go back to the Senate to finish out your term on our dime- what a racket. Only in Washington DC- a place where millionarires sit in their ivory towers worrying about low flow toilets and shower heads. Whatever happened to public servant, the talk nowadays is all about power brokers. Go figure.
Hillary needs to soften up if she wants to be the first "woman" president. No one wants a woman acting like a man pretending to be a woman. How do you know who she really is? If she embraces her femininity and shows some human emotion it might make a difference. Then again it might not. She is still overshadowed by the farce her husband made of the presidency and of marriage. Many people will always see that ghost wavering behind her no matter what she does.
You can dress a pig up in a dress but it's still a pig.
You can dress Hillary in a dress if you prefer but she will still be a self serving liar to me. Notice I didn't call her a pig....pigs are smart animals and if given a chance get out of the mud.
hillary like everyone else in life needs to learn a very important lesson; the TRUE meaning of the word ENTITLEMENT. There is no such thing as entitlement, it is an absolute phrase. When a lion attacks and kills its prey for its daily bread, the lion most certainly feels entitled to eat. However, the prey that just lost its life most certainly felt entitled to live just before dying. It's ALL relevant. In her deranged way of thinking it was hers by default. To the American people, it's something ONE must earn.
Entitlement??? If Hillary had Bommer's resume and walked in to try to get a shot at running for president she would have been laughed out of the house! Hillary IS ENTITLED because she has the credentials and experience - Bommer DOES NOT. I don't care if he's black - white - or purple anyway you look at it he is pathetically UNDER QUALIFIED - how does that make him entitled?
Hillary is her own depressent. The nightmare of her possible election has ended and the country can get back to breathing free air again. Maybe she can pull a Lewinsky and keep Obama calm and at ease. I wonder if she owns a blue dress? mmmmmmmmmmm?????
You are a sick person and deserve what you get in life. I would assume you are another Obama supporter?
Fisherman, "pull a Lewinsky and keep Obama calm and at ease." Please grow-up. It is sexist comments by idiots like you who has driven the course of the primaries. Hillary is probably tougher than you will ever be, and probably more woman than you will ever get.
I do not think Senator Clinton will be in to a depression. She is made of different quality stuff seasoned by many trials and challenges as a public servant, unlike what the media and others think. Her lost presidential nomination bid compare to other candidates in the pasts is far different. She made a remarkable feast obtaining historic 18Million votes on her side and the very first woman candidate who made an attempt to become a president. Her great stride is indeed an achievement not recognize by those who at the start of the nomination campaign were against her, and their minds are so close to reality, and so why she will be depressed but instead she will be proud of her feats. Someday, the nation will wake up to have a first woman president, and that person will be Hillary Clinton.
Can't agree with you any better than you put it
Hillary brought this on herself. She shied away from being "the woman'" candidate and alienated a lot of us women and annoyed us whenshe desperately tried to play the sexism card. She allowed her husband to do his usual derailing of her efforts with a slew of racially divisive comments that alienated her Black supporters. She stupidly failed to learn the mechanics of the caucus component of the primaries thereby losing her purported momentum. She lied about Bosnia and lost credibility. She failed to appeciate the animosity her fellow Democratic legislators had for her and her embarassingly undisciplined husband which cost her early Superdelegate support. Clearly, she was never ready on day one despite her arrogant assertions to the contrary. Need I say more? In short...she just messed up!

I think I am hearing the most stupidiest comment from you, it can only come down to pure stupid or ignorant. I think you are judging Hillary for what you believe and think, but I believe that Hillary is a very strong lady and she have the experience to be a leader. Though she was unfairly treated throughout the whole run, but I believe that we are heading for a serious mess with Obama, I don't trust the man with his whole background, perios.
I am terribly disappointed in the irresponsible journalism of Newsweek. Depression is a serious medical issue and should not be used to sell magazines. As an African American and a well-educated woman, either of the two candidates were a win-win situation for me. Unfortunately, as a life-long democrat , I could never be more disgusted by the misogyny of the biased media posing as objective journalists or more ashamed of the DNC coup. All I can say is that many of my "sisters" shall REMEMBER come NOVEMBER.
I have and always will respect former 1st Lady of Our Country beautiful Mrs. Hillary Clinton. She is tremendously strong and courageous for what she has done. I pray for her that Senator Obama will
choose her for the Vice Presidential running mate. Too much negativity in this world takes a strong
soul to survive. If Mrs. Clinton or her supporters are reading this message, please let her know that
I, a small town female physician living in my own microcosm in the USA, send her my prayers and love which I hope will rekindle her dream to pursue the presidency again. Always remember, the present moment too shall pass, just like the painful moments that occurred in the past have moved on. Life moves on---we all move on. God Bless.
I know you cannot possibly be serious with your comments. Hillary is anything but courageous. If she were truly courageous, we would know what exactly happened with Vince Foster. If she were truly courageous, we would know why they felt they had to trash the White House when they left and steal so much furniture that our government had to take a truck to the new digs in NY and retrieve it. If she were truly courageous, she would have been up-front about the tax returns from last year that we will never see and would have demanded that Bill release the names of the donors from his library knowing it would hurt her candidacy if he didn't. If she were truly courageous, she would explain how the missing documents from The Rose Law Firm ended up on the floor of the master bedroom in the White House and on the tables in her office after declaring "under oath" that she had no idea where they were. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.
is up to "WE" the people to decide whom the next president will be!
Obama,is we....
she fought hard, she's done her best and not giving it up and none of you support her but at the end criticized her for feeling depressed and yet asked her to help Obama defeat republican nominee McCain while eliminating her from being the vice president?what kind of picture are we looking at here?just admit it that USA can never have equal opportunity and treatment between men and women! Is not up to Hilary or Obama,
to decide neit
This is a lady, with an insatiable desire for power, she scares me.
She is the only reaon, why, i won't vote for Barack Obama, if she becomes a VP candidate
Well thats a switch. I think you are the first Obama supporter who wont vote for him if Hillary is on the ticket.
Same can be said for Senator Obama and perhaps his insatiable lust for power. He mystifies this voter by exemplifying a rather startling, expedient political emergence to presidential aspirant. Yes, I'm very skeptical, AND not in sync with his political platform.
I'm sorry, as a woman I am extremely offended by the implication that she was treated differently by the media because she was a woman. Hillary Clinton does not know what sexism feels like--forget Nancy Pelosi, SHE is the most powerful woman in the Senate. Hillary Clinton was first lady then was ASKED by Rangal to run for NY Senator. If she'd walk in my shoes (as well as the millions of other women crying sexism) they would know what REAL sexism is. In my occupation, women are only ALLOWED to hold a position for fear of being sued for discrimiation (FACT). Try keeping a straight face when some old, smelly fat cat tell you (to your face): woman do not belong in my field? She's never had to deal with that and she never will. Now THAT is sexism.
Hillary has much to be proud of. She gained the popular vote and to me that is what should have been considered. All voters deserve to know their votes count. Not just the deligate's votes. There is no shame for Hillary. When the next fours years are messed up and our country is in decline I pray for Hillary to run again and WIN. It is shame we have to go though four more years of our country going down hill. Either way we vote this time we are in for a mess.
Who are you people? There needs to be a major change on who gets to write articles for news magazines. This is the most stupid article I have read yet in Newsweek. I got it off the MSN website--so I think I'm going to change my home page from MSN to something else. This article belongs (if it belongs at all anywhere,,except in the trash) in something like the National Enquirer or Star Magazine. Or that tabloid that always features two-headed monsters, or 300 pound babies born from tiny-sized mothers. Maybe we should require licenses for people who write news articles like we do for doctors, lawyers, and real estate brokers. Then maybe we'd have real news stories that are objective and intelligent being written.
Hmmm... I wonder why (in my over fifty years) I've never heard the "depression" topic come up when a man concedes the Presidential Race? This theory only confirms what a whole lot of people believe in their hearts... if Hillary is a victim of anything, she is a victim of sexism. No other man in history has faced the prejudice that Hillary Rodman Clinton has experienced in this campaign. In the final election at the end of the year, the ballot will reflect the presidential candidates - AND a blank spot that offers voters the opportunity to write in their own candidate of choice; I for one am writing in Hillary Rodman Clinton. If you're a Hillary supporter rest assure this is not the end - we still have the option to vote for our candidate of choice in the final election.
You never saw this because no man ever waited five days to concede. Us Democrats know that it is so much more important than Hilalry's loss. We want to change this country, and we want to get our country back from the neocons. We want health care, climate repair, good schools, no more war and we all know that McCain will not get us there. It will just be MORE WAR YEARS. We know Obama will help all of us.
Technically... concede is the wrong choice of words - mine included. Hillary did not concede; rather she suspended her campaign - for now. As for the sexism tactics; that began in the beginning and has been going on all along. Obama aka Bommer is using the expression change but has tunnel vision because he perceives change to apply to him alone. Truth is ??? Hillary (or any other woman for that matter) wouldn???t have had a chance if they had Bommer???s resume and attempted to get a chance to run for president... They would have been laughed out of the race! Where are his credentials??? Oh! That???s right! He doesn???t have any!
Please dont waste your vote with a write in!!!
Ok, ok waste your vote just dont vote McWar Bush Policies
I agree with you on the write in for Hillary. I hope all her supporters do it.
I do hope the Senator Obama would be forced or feel obliged to chose Hillary as his VP. Too many malicious antics by her and Bill. I feel that she stil want revenge and will do everything to have the last laugh. She will set him up to fail even after he's in the White House
i agree with some of whats written by the readers ,and in some cases a lot of what the readers write. i think she is a very strong person ,a great mother and i would have to say a loyal wife. i wonder how many of us would have been able to withstand all that's been said good or bad about every phase of our life?if she needed some time (a few days) to come down to the reality of losing ,so be it..if anything Sen.Obama learned a lot from her both good and bad, but why would anyone think that a problem..As far as his being under the thumb of boss Daley/d Axelrod and his status as a non lobbyist in Il.Whereas he forced to register as 1 in N.Y.
where he couldn't get away with It.I personally will now support him ,but im more concerned about his ties with the boss es of the democratic party leaders who seem to screw up all the existing screwups that we r stuck with as they seem to be more concerned with hearing themselves vs us.Last but not least are the most incredible idiotic things said by some reporters because they think it hasnt been said so they will twist it around to get u to tune in .people like rush and Coulter are just funny and i feel sorry for them as they are stuck w/ith themselves regardless of how they badmouth those who dont agree w/them.Then we have an absolute Archie reject that time warner needs to drop before he takes down a network ,oh yeah his name is "what can i find to say negative about the clintons.", Jack Cafferty..Mr Blitzer i dont know what you did to deserve him but with all the positive changes that cnn has done to become a better station ,someone missed cafferty ,who i feel sorry for as he is someone who should be asked to move or get fired as he is worse then obnoxious ,he is a complete joke and an embarrasment to the show.
it would be a shame if senator Obama is forced to accept illary Clinton as VP. She cannot be trusted and I believe that because she did not win she would set him up to fail even when he's in the White House. She still wants to have the last laugh. She should not be forgotten but also not forgiven for her outragous behaviour during the campaign.
