first of all, you assume that Hillary clinton is prone to depression. she's not. And what's more, theHillary supporters, although they respect her in 'suspending the campaign, have starte a Write in campaign for her she did get 18 million votes.
You don't know anything about psychology.

Democrats do not need a BOSS or QUEEN or KING. Democrats need somone that will listen to them and not tell them what their hopes and dreams should be. Democrats gave their full support to the Clintons during their many times of public mess. For once, the Clintons should learn to put "our" general interest first. Theirs cannot always be the right and ONLY way to political salvation. This virus from politicians of tearing others down to make it must stop. Obama brought a lot of young Americans to the political scene and they have shown us that diversity is beautiful and that they are ready to improve on our fears. They have the hope. Let us not corrupt them with our fears. This is our America...not blue states and red states America.

Hillary will be back. In what role, in what position only the future can tell. But irregardless she has endeared herself to a ton of millions of Americans that only knew her by the circumstances of Bill Clinton. O by the way....check out your history books, most American Presidents, and Power Brokers everywhere have had their side games, too bad Bill got caught, but that is the cost to men who play in the power game. I still like Bill, and he plays one great Saxophone, and for Hillary, I do not think he will play the BLUES.

Oh puhleeze! Isn't there enough legitimate news in the world without fabricating this trash? You call yourselves reporters? Where's your objectivity?

I thought the title of the article was terrible, but the substances was not that bad. I saw it as a reminder to people that although Hillary is tough, there is bound to be some emotional let down and people should remember that and be compassionate. I thought the examples of other candidates who went through the same experience put her in good company.

ZigZag: Sorry, my family have already "jumped" to McCain. At least we know he's not an empty suit with no resume. If you thought on-the-job training was bad under Bush (it was), wait 'til this Obama has to make decisions (oh, excuse me, I meant write a speech).

You're voting for the party as much as the canidate. Doing you really think Bush made all those mistakes all by himself, with no involvement from the republican party? If you do, you're pretty naive. You're going to have four more years just like the last eight if McCain wins. If that's what you and your family want, then by all means vote for McCain - just don't call yourselves democrats.

Im completely baffeled syl37via has never heard of the Civil Rights Movement, who would have thought? only in America I guess... and P.S the CRM benefited middle class white women more than any other demographic, just a short history lesson for you!

    • Posted By: syl37via @ 06/08/2008 3:27:34 PM

Actually I lived through the Civil Rights Movement Times. You are right tho, I grew up in NE at a time when it was mostly white. This helped me tho, because I never experienced prejudice teaching in my family, other than the typical Jewish one. All was quiet in our house, my parents were too busy being prejudicial to there own children, you know, that era before Dr. Benjamin Spock....I can tell you tho, I am now living in a complex, 90 inhabited by non-caucasions, so am definitely in the minority. Interesting.

We are all here and now. A "time storm" begins. The past will shortly recede faster than the past has ever receded in history. The Clinton administration will be fifty years ago in a few months. All of the old race and gender abuses will be a thousand years ago in a few short years. The new ground being cut from today forward will be decades into the future in a couple of years. Hang on. This is a fast ride. If you don't keep up, you will be very old way before your time. Good luck.

What the Clinton's should understand is that Democrats do not need a BOSS or QUEEN or KING they need a leader that will represent their hopes.

Whatever is ahead for Senator Clinton, I pray that God will bless her. She and her family are very, very strong people. They withstood all the hatred, name calling, and viciousness of people and especially the news media. Chris Matthews from MSNBC is such a snake, he hates Hillary Clinton. He talked so badly about her and Bill.
They turned everything around so people would go against Senator Clinton. I remember the first day that Chris Matthews told Senator Obama and John Edwards to go after Senator Clinton, and from that day forward until the end, it was horrible. I pray that God will bless all concerned, because there is a day of reckoning coming. Senator Clinton, please, never give up, you are an excepational lady. God continue to bless you and your family

Trust me, Hillary will come back stronger than before. This article depicts the fact that author has no idea of who the real Hillary Clinton is. No one could have pulled off the historic election performance just witnessed with the poor campaign staff she had nationwide and the financial grave she had to dig herself from. Trust me we need the Hillary Clinton's of this world as leaders.

Can you imagine this same article written about a man?? Did they write about McCain losing the nomination in 2000 and his chance at becoming depressed? That would never have been thought to have been mention, or with any other candidate. I can't believe this, anyone who says their isn't a gender bias by the media is blind or just used to the sterotyped cultural views of women as it is! Shame on us America, contries that we think we are better than and more progressieve than have already had women leaders, but apprently American women are too fragile and depressed to be able to handle it!

Comment: I have a suggestion for all the Clinton supporters who say they are going to vote for McCain. Go to the following website address for the Wall Street Journal:

    http://online.wsj.com/public/page/election2008.html?mod=2_1309

At the top of the page, you'll see cartoon charcters of McCain and Obama along with a link that says "See An Interactive Graphic." If you click on that link you'll see a very easy to read summary on the differences between McCain and Obama on various topics. Remember, with the excpetion of health care, Clinton's polilcies are very similar to Obama's. Even on health care, Obama's policy is closer to Clinton's than McCain's.

Try to take a moment and put aside any emotional response and read the differences for each topic. When you're finished, ask yourself objectively and without emotion who's policies you agree with more. If the answer is Obama, then try to at least keep an open mind as the campaign plays out. With emotions still high, no one expects you to endorse Obama at this point - just try to keep an open mind and focus on the policies rather than the personalities, because that is really what is most important.

    Just a suggestion.

A vote for MCcain is a vote for geogre bush.More war=higher taxes. It dosen't take a genius to figure that out.

    • Posted By: darkhorse @ 06/08/2008 4:23:44 PM

Lobitty I have to agree...Obama is the ultimate cult of personality......which seems to be what it take these days to make it to the top. If you SOUND good you must BE good right??? I am not buying, my money is not even on the table.

But that's how a monarchy works. It's all about the king or queen. In the United States, we have a government of laws, not people. It's a bedrock principle of our democracy. It should be about the country, not about the candidate.

  • Posted By: hackojean @ 06/08/2008 3:10:59 PM

Hillary Clinton was treated unfairly by the liberal press who willnow turn on McCain to promote the liberal darling Obama. Hillary would have made a better democratic candiate then Obama but was only 90% lberal while Obama is the most leftest candiddte we have ever had run for the presidency. So much for the unbiased press.

Just another example of someone winning the popular vote and being shafted. AMERICA should be depressed at how flawed and unjust it's political system is. However, the main game now is to defeat McCain. The thought of a continuation of the present situation is not only unthinkable, it's unsustainable. Change is not a choice, it's an idea whose time has come.

  • Posted By: tiffmc @ 06/08/2008 4:18:28 PM

And to all of you uppity Obama supporters: when Obama loses it will be such a shock to him, probably because he's so arrogant and full of himself, that he'll jump off a cliff. Because of your Obamania, you'll probably jump right after him. And this is coming from a true blue Democrat who won't be voting for him, not because I am a huge Hillary fan, but because Obama is an arrogant SOB with little to no integrity.

  • Posted By: me@myhouse.com @ 06/08/2008 4:15:57 PM

I personally don't care for Senator Clinton's views, but having experienced public life on a much much smaller scale as both a campaign winner and a campaign loser, I don't wish on anyone what you go through after losing. It's tough to put it all on the line, go through the crap the media, opponents, and even friends and advisors put you through. To keep the let down as short as possible you have to either find something new to challenge you or go back to what you were doing and bury yourself in it. Time doesn't always heal the let down and disappointment, but forcing yourself back out into the public eye and realizing that people are more fogiving and loving of us than we are to ourselves is hugely important to regaining our sense that life is still good and there's more to be done that we can be a major part of. Bottom line: life goes on, we're tougher on ourselves than we should be, we just need to get back out there and keep moving. Although I wish Senator Clinton would get out of politics, it's hard to wish something like post campaign depression even on her. Cm

  • Posted By: JasperJumpingJack @ 06/08/2008 3:16:55 PM

Why in the world would there be an article on when will the depression set in? I hope she leaves her name on the ballot, because I feel she has a chance to win. Obama as far as I am concerned is a loser either way.
