Hillary will not lapse into depression. Her character and personality is as cold and hard as steel. It will be back to the senate for her, where she can bide her time and perhaps take another run in 2012. Those qualities that served her well in the past, deception, lying, calculating and contempt for the electorate will serve her well in the future.

Whoa! congratulations from so call journalist to Medical Diagnosing Doctor!!! Too bad you remain ignorant. You can not accept the fact that a woman can be strong, intelligent. I am a health care profesional and I can tell you that perhaps it is you who might have psychiatric problems and in no position to expeculate in the mental health of others. By the way you b. ladies I am sure that the better accomplishement that you have alrady achieved significantly is beeing *** and idiots and could never be worth the crap that lady Senator Clinton might pick up in the soles of her shoes

I have not read any article similar to this regarding any MALE presidential candidates for US White house. This is an insult to Hillary. She has had such great poise throughout her campaign. It is now over. I think the media needs to give her a break and let her regroup. Perhaps the media tends to play a HUGE impact on American elections. I've noticed this when Bush was elected in 2000 and 2004.

      POISE ?

SHE IS A PIECE OF CRAP !

My, Newsweek......after bashing Hillary for months, now give the woman a rest! This feels like a conversation amongst vultures, after they have managed to bring down the prey - and now wondering how much more it can take, how it did feel when they went for the kill, if it hurts and feels humiliating. Human beings - worst animals on earth.
You managed, with other media "Hillary haters", to manipulate the election, to constantly talk about that Clinton should get out, giving the impression it was over before it really was - and Obama won, despite being far less experience, doing his rah rah speeches, and not being as solid as Hillary.
Now he needs her help - what a surprise.
Sexist, judgmental, Clinton hateful media coverage - you laid your bed, now rest in it. And your conscience.

    • Posted By: tired and old @ 06/08/2008 4:06:05 PM

CLINTON POND SCUM SHOULD HAVE GONE TO PRISON ALONG TIME AGO.

    • Posted By: MuseOn @ 06/08/2008 3:31:18 PM

...Just too bad the rest of us have to lay in that bed, too!
Next time, you journalists that have covered this in such a hateful, bias way - see a therapist first instead; get your *** out!

I was not a fan of the Clinton years nor of Hillary. But watching her gut it out made me respect her more and made me think thats who I want to represent me as an American. Never in a million years did I ever think I would say this.

Somehow I think this woman wont go too low, she seems unsinkable. In the end, if nothing else, she can honestly say she gave it her best. If she were a man I dont think anyone would have given her as much guff about hanging in there because she was not that far off the mark. So what is the worse that happens? She makes a mark in the history books as the first female to bid for a respectable presidential election. Then she gave give it a try again next time.

Obama, as much as I dislike him, would be a fool to not take her as VP because those two on the same ticket stands a very strong chance of winning, even though I hope they dont.

    justmare:

Perhaps you didn't know that b.clintons had an affair while he was married to hillary, was president and the affair was in the white house. Sorry if you think it was private. Maybe you could study history.

give me a break - the press dogged Hillary all through this campaign and now that she suspended her campaign she's still getting the sexist articles written about her - I agree with the comment by steffieg - where was the article about Mike Huckabee's depression... what a load of crap. Give her a break - you managed to keep her from the Presidential part of the ticket are you now making sure that she doesn't get the VP spot also? Heaven forbid a woman have any power.

  • Posted By: steffieg @ 06/08/2008 4:03:43 PM

Even as a Republican, I am disgusted at the media's portrayal of her personal life, her campaign, and the fact that no matter how sincere or less strident she is, she is still just a women. One who didn't follow every single suggestion of the blogosphere, political advisor, or news reporter. Her dedication to her party in the face of such sexism is plainly heroic, not the stuff of a neurotic basketcase who "lost the big boys fight."

DON'T JUMP UNDER THE TRAIN WITH MCCAIN

The press holds a mirror up for all women to see what the male establishment really things of us.
I'm no feminist, but folks i'm beginning to get massivly ticked off. If nothing else, this crapola has
wakened many sleeping tigresses. I predict some things, they are about to change. I'd burn my
bra in echo of the 60's if I wasn't IN my 60's now and a victim of gravity.

      HANGING OUT WITH NANCY.

  • Posted By: liberalady63 @ 06/08/2008 4:00:47 PM

EVEN THOUGH I HAVE CONSISTENTLY APPROVED AND SUPPORTED OBAMA, i CAN'T HELP BUT COMMISERATE WITH HILLARY. WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING AS DESPARETLY AS SHE WANTED TO BE PRESIDENT, IT'S GOT TO BE A VERY BITTER PILL TO SWALLOW--TO COME SO CLOSE.

  • Posted By: Dr.Marg @ 06/08/2008 3:33:21 PM

Senator Clintion is a very remarkable women and leader. She is not going down for the count. In fact by her staying in the race during all the primaries, she allowed every state to have their say, otherwise the reason behind having primaries would be a joke if the media can cut off an election process in February. If she had conceded any earlier then eveyr state in the union has a right and responsibility to do what Michigan and Florida did in moving their primaries up so that their voice and votes matter. Senator Clinton allowed every vote to matter.
The media needs to wake up and realize they have to quit making the news and only report it in an unbiased manner. The media threw this election to a very inexperienced candidate and this country will pay the price for that. Don't be surprised come Nov 4 how many of us centrist Democrats will be voting for a centrist Republican with experience and leadership..

HILLARY IS DEAD ! LET SLEEPING DOGS LIE.

  • Posted By: steffieg @ 06/08/2008 3:56:43 PM

It's funny there was never any article written about the loss of the GOP nomination by Mike Huckabee. The difficulty in conceding the nomination, the painful feelings of loss, the uplifting message that hey, he will still have a "place" in politics; never once did I read such an article. Perhaps it's because she has all those crazy "women hormones" coupled with the fact that as a women, she must be a candidate for depression right? hav

I must say, I am pleased to see an increase in posts from Hillary supporters who are saying "Look, we're not completely sold on Obama, but before we blindly jump over to McCain, let's really think about that that means"

Yes, there are still some angry people - on both sides - as well as some republicans that love to stir things up. But the fact that there are some posts to this effect when there were none last week means we're making progress.

McCain, be afraid, be very afraid.

HILLARY WIL OF COURSE,TAKE A BREAK,. WHEN SHE COMES BACK SHE WILL BE STRONGER THAN ANY OPPONENT COULD EVER IMAGINE

  • Posted By: hope4America @ 06/08/2008 3:34:09 PM

family1/AZ@6/08/08 This is one white woman who is elderly & who definitely trusts Barack Obama enough to contribute to his fund to beat Bush/McCain....I would hope that all Hillary Clinton's supporters would listen to Barack Obama and compare what he proposes to what McCain promises....total drastic differences. Be fair and if you support Hillary, give Barack a fair chance.! Isn't that what Hillary asked you to do.?

    • Posted By: tired and old @ 06/08/2008 3:54:18 PM

      BIGOTS DON'T VOTE FOR MINORITIES.

THEY DO VOTE FOR WHITE WITCHES LIKE HILLARY.

  • Posted By: AmericaToday @ 06/08/2008 1:37:23 PM

Attention Hillary Supporters: Can you believe this? Now we need to see an article about her "depression"? Is anyone else as disgusted as I am? The word disgusted doesn't begin to describe it. It has been obvious during the primary campaign how biased Newsweek is but now they need to rub salt in her wounds? Let's all remember this (especially us women)-WRITE IN HILLARY-or vote McCain. Don't let them get away with this!

    • Posted By: jjmn @ 06/08/2008 2:30:04 PM

So AmericaToday, how far up the Republican's totem pole are you? Democrats are so much smarter than this. We know that McCain means many more years of war. We know he will do nothing for the environment. We know he won't fix the economy or schools. We know that Obama has the same basic views as Hillary and that he wants all her supporters to join him. WE are smarter than you. Obama'08

do you honestly think that Nobama is going to end the War? --- stop drinking the kool-aid.

        • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/08/2008 3:53:14 PM

But of course McCain is ... after 100 years.

    • Posted By: jjmn @ 06/08/2008 2:25:32 PM

Grow up. They were saying that she is sad. Did you even read this? MY GOD. Go ahead, ruin our country because you are mad that your candidate did not win. I am sickened at how my fellow women in this country are behaving. Hillary lost and we are going to vote for more war. WAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Get a grip on yourself. Go research Barack Obama and realize he has the same positions Hillary does.

  • Posted By: rinnyroe @ 06/08/2008 3:53:00 PM

I am disappointed that Hillary lost, but I will vote democratically in November. I think this article's subtext is pathetic in that it points out the obvious that the lose of such a high competition would be sad, and seems to relish in painting a prediction that Hillary will crumble up and come to her knees. I hope she stays strong, and I hope that she inspires other women to constantly break barriers and ultimately achieve her goals.

On the cover of the June Issue of Vanity Fair there is a quote attributed to John Adams, second president of the USA: "Great is the guilt of an unnecessary war". Says a lot, doesn't it!!!! And speaking of him, one should read his biographies of which there are many, and also, John Quincy Adams left the White House after one term and returned to Govt. to do the most important work work of his life, the Amistad issue being only one. John Adams said that the office of VP is the most inconsequential job in the world. Not an exact quote. Speaking of depression, in ran rampant in that family. Didn't stop them!!! Go Hillary!!!

    • Posted By: tired and old @ 06/08/2008 3:52:30 PM

      GO WITCH HILLARY TO H E L L !

  • Posted By: NancyyesanotherNancy @ 06/08/2008 3:46:14 PM

I'm stunned that anyone who supported Hillary would even think about McCain. This "if i can't get my way I'm taking my votes and going home" attitude is ridiculous...and dangerous. For whatever reasons fair or unfair Obama is the candidate of the Democratic party. Suck it up, I don't like it either but I'm going to work as hard to make sure a Democrat is in the White House and I promised to those many months ago when I signed on for Hillary.
