RetiredMarine was in High School when the Vietnam War ended. My conflicts were Grenada, Beruit, Bosnia and both Gulf wars so please don't put words in my mouth. What I know of Hanoi Hilton is that the POW's there were mistreated, tortured, etc. From Vets I have spoken with who were there, they tried to live up to the Code of conduct, but many did indeed say stupid things to stop the pain. Stands to reason if you think logically about it. A confession under duress really isn't a confession.... Look at the scrutiny we give in todays society when we deprive a POW of sleep. Our society now calls that "Torture". But no one goes to bat for our own people when they legitimately are tortured. Bottom line, what happened there, some of us will never know and probably couldn't fathom. I do know that much of the suffering was increased due to American citizens own efforts (similar to what is happening today) with the lack of support, visits by people like Jane Fonda (then), supposed visits by people like Sean Penn (in the most recent war) who spread lies to further the propoganda. So who do you believe? I protected McCain and Clinton in their Iraq visit and got to speak with McCain a little. He seemed down to earth then. Currently I don't agree with everything he stands for, but no one is going to agree with everything... (Hell my wife and I don't agree on many things...) But the decision cannot be based on one or two issues. The decisions for the country need to be based on the overall (we have to take the good with the bad). I see Obama touting extreme leftist (even Marxist) views. Didn't he (and his wife) use the terms: "require", "demand", "not give you the choice" and other words to that effect about following his plans. Sorry, but I didn't fight in several conflicts to allow a President to become a dictator and try to take away our fundamental right to make choices. So, McCain may not be perfect, but it is our own fault for not chosing a better candidate. You have to go with the overall best for the country. I wish Obama had better ideas and were more towards the middle, but I feel he is too far to the left.

Am not advocating torture. But no one fights for US servicemen rights when they are tortured, yet everyone blows things out of perportion on something as silly as sleep depravation or dogs scaring a prisoner. Police officers use these tactics all of the time. What my original post was getting at is that you can't really judge a man who endured Hanoi Hilton unless you were right there with him. many POW's broke under torture. At least he had the balls to serve.

The majority of American's run their households that way, yet it seems to be a difficult concept for people to undestand when it comes to the United States. I too am an Obama supporter, but I am curious where are you getting your informatiom regarding these bloggers? You claim to know quite a bit of information about several of them. I just hope that you are not attempting to keep discord going between the Clinton and Obama supporters as the time for that has past. Those of us who have been on these boards for a while have noticed that there are quite a few new bloggers since Obama won the primary and several of them on both sides seem really really angry. The ones who claim to be Obama supporters tend to taunt the Clinton supporters and the bloggers who claim to be Clinton supporters tend to overly encourage the other Clinton supporters to vote for McCain.

However the mud slinging and anger shows we have a long way to go until then. You realize that the "Swift Boaters" will win this election too unless we can have an open and honest discussion without all the accusations. At the same time you talk about the same thing you condemn... and slap each other on the behinds in the process... Look at your posts. This is what turns people off about your candidate. It is the... "hey, he is black... if you don't vote for him you must be a racist" BS tactics going on. Because people are different than you doesn't make them unintelligent, uneducated, intollerant, etc. It means that people have different values. Some of us do not value socialist crap. Some of us enjoy freedom and the American way as it was meant to be. If a man or woman is black, white, orange, pink, etc... who cares? It is what the person stands for that matters, not the skin color. Until you get that through your heads, get any chips off your shoulder and quit trying to use guilt tactics or insults, there will be division. This isn't necessarily true. You throw around the labels of unintelligent, intollerant, etc, the same way other bloggers do the "race card" (is that better defined for you?). Everyone has their opinion, your judgemental view as to why a person supports someone is no less abuse tactics than any other race, fear, etc way of trying to influence a persons ideas. Ok, thanks for clarifying your post. But my point was in direct reference to those who claim to support Clinton but have expressed outrage that she did not win. There are a number of them on this board who have made it very clear that they wish to punish the DNC and the media outlets by voting for McCaine.
As an american you have the right to vote for whomever makes you feel more secure, but this is not the point that is being expressed on these boards by some of these women and I say women because all I read is "Ladies let's show them that we will not be ignored" which means that these women plan to vote their anger not their brains. That was the point, I have total respect for intelligent choices but this argument makes no sense.-

I SAY: Editing every blog to make fun of one???s grammar (spelling, punctuation, etc.) is ridiculous (unless it is so bad you have no clue what the person is saying); and which you can now see is the case based on what you just posted:
1 - You should of capitalize the ???I??? in the word ???I???ve ??? in the first sentence above.
2 - Could of inserted a semi-colon after the word ???wrong??? in the first sentence above.
3 - Could change the capitalized B in the first word of the second sentence to lower case: but

Hillary Clinton continues to think she is smarter than the voters. She picked her words carefully in today's campaign rally in which she did not concede. She "suspended" her campaign while pledging to continue to fight for the 18 million she claims as her supporters by her flawed math.She endorsed Obama for the good of the party. Unlike Obama who graciously said many good things about her, she declined to be complimentary of him. Having her as his vice president would be like hiring his own assassin or at least a supporter of his assassin. For the record, her comments about the suffragettes uniting with the abolitionists are flawed. There was no such union which included Black women/women of color. Indeed, there was a specific agreement between the White suffragettes, White abolitionists and Black male abolitionists to exclude Black women. This rewriting of history, whether that one or the "feminist," "women's rights" movement of the 1960s pretends that women of color are or have been included when that is not true. Hillary's inability to simply concede on the night Barack became the nominee and her need to hold another rally for her suspended campaign leaves a bad taste in the minds of many, as if she will remain poised and hoping for a catastrophe to befall Obama so she could step in. Clearly, despite her words, she is still campaigning as she made clear that she was robbed of the nomination.

I was very disappointed again today but not more so than after the last primaries ended, that Hillary did not congratulate Obama for winning the nomination. It's as if she still believes she's going to be the nominee. I have nagging concerns that the Clintons will arrange something to take out Obama...
And again....Hillary did not win in Indiana! Operation Chaos is the only reason she "won". It was estimated that Rush votes gave her 7-11% of a margin over Obama. Votes that are NOT hers in November and NOT her supporters. I voted in the Indiana primary and saw the cross over voting happening and talked to others who admitted to voting according to Operation Chaos. I laugh every time she touts her "popular votes" .
I still feels she is not sincere about uniting the party but is holding out that she will be the nominee in Aug.-

To lori and rhoda and others still fighting the primary: It's time to let up, ladies. Hillary Clinton delivered a masterfully crafted speech today that paid homage to her supporters, outlined her personal goals for the country, and firmly and sincerely threw her support to Barack Obama. She did everything she could do in one speech. She tapped down the smattering of boos -- encouraged the cheers and gave her supporters a reason to make the change -- the future of the country is in peril if the Republicans retain the White House. It's no longer about personalities. It's about policies. There's no doubt where Hillary stands and she wants her supporters to continue to stand with her and elect Barack Obama and Democratic legislators in November. It's time to pull together.

Sounds like some of the media coverage doesnt think the way you do. Just heard again tthat CNNs Cindy Crowley (think that is her name? she is very unbiased between Obama and Hillary in her reporting) saying that Hillary will go down in history as being THE only democratic presidential candidate to get the most votes in any presidental primaries EVER. Think about it, even if RUSH made a campaign to have some of the repubs to vote democ. for Hillary in disguise, this is not a new trick. It has been done in many past primarires only it just was never 'announced' by a radio pundit stating to DO it as a public ploy. Plus, there is the flip side of things in which there were alot of repubs voting for Obama so that he would be the nominee for McCain to run against cuz Obama was the lesser strong candidate for McCain to go up against. So who really knows. Guess we will find out in the GE this November how it all shakes out : - )

there are more voters in the US than there were 4 years before. All the baby boomer's kids can vote now and some of the early baby boomers.....their grandchildren probably can vote now too....

Even though Rush Limbaugh stirred up some things, he has alot of respect for Hillary. He surely does not respect Obama nor does he trust him. In his mind Obama is the Antichrist and his so-called friends are not "nice" people. Ever wonder why Obama never took the reins on his appointment to the Afganistan war committee, because he has friends over there. Why did he never vote on anything as a Senator? Maybe you have to look at his friends; people who are not friends of America. Obama only denounced his church after 20 years of influence because of this campaign. Obama only started wearing a US flag pin only after a stink was created that he did not wear one let alone have US flags in back of him when he made his speeches. McCain is correct stating that Obama is not patriotic. How can all of his supporters just turn their heads the other way when all of these things are so obvious. I bet if these things were mentioned about Hillary', there would be some terrible reaction. Rush Limbaugh calls it a "trance" that all of Obama supporters are in when it comes to all of the garbage centering around him; they dismiss all of the terrible things that a President of the US should not be involved in nor have been involved in. Influence after 20 some years means alot in a person's upbringing, look at his wife. She was definitely influenced by that "wonderful" Rev. Wright. I am sure that Obama has some of the same thoughts after 20 years of Rev. Wright. He was a muslim before that. God help America if he gets elected.

In her speech today, Hillary decried the distressing loss of time, loss of programs, loss of progress that this country has suffered under Republican presidents. The primaries may have seemed like a tug of war between Obama supporters and Clinton supporters. But it was really a contest to determine who would be the most likely candidate to take back the White House in Nobember. You may think Clinton would be better than Obama. You may even be right -- this is no longer the time to debate that. Obama is the nominee. Your choice -- if you chose to make one -- is between the Republican policies that have lied us into war and mismanaged us into recession and the Democratic policies that offer a change in direction, an end of the war, an economy that is friendlier to people than to corporations. Good post. In the end it is ultimately the voters right to pick the candidate they feel most comfortable with to forfill the role of President of the United States. In prior to doing this, it is just as important to explore all the candidates on the ticket running for President in the GE thoroughly (Obama, McCain, Bob Barr, others?) to see how each stack up against each other when it comes to their beliefs, their values, their policies, their experience and proven list of accomplishments, or any other characteristics to help you make that ultimate decision to pick the candidate that best represents someone who will best be able to address your needs, your concerns about issues. Do you research first. as you have 5 mos. to explore all your options. But not matter what. Do VOTE as a note vote is wasteful to our democracy.

He's a dirty politician who has played this primary unfairly. He didn't win. He stacked the caucuses. The super-stupid-delegates picked our president for us. Clinton won the popular vote and she should be our nominee. Wait until the repugs bring out the Sinclair story and the "whitey" tape. He will go down in flames and I hope every super-stupid-delegate goes down with him.

P.S. I think the reason for "suspending" rather than ending her campaing has to do with fundraising and paying off her debt. Once her campaign is ended, she can no longer fundraise. So she, like John Edwards, keep their campaigns technically open so that they can legally receive donations. Please don;t begrudge her this.

But she is no fool either, her holding those delegates in suspension gives her some leverage too to possibly work out a position in Obamas cabinet if he wins. (and No, Im not one pushing the VP spot for her but if she got it I wouldnt be disappointed; just saying she can do a whole lot of good staying in the Senate continuing on maybe focused in the Health sector if Obama gave her some leverage there. But this is all IFs. Time will tell.

Divorce is an ugly thing I have no idea what happened to the marriage but I suspect Mccain and his first wife had quit having a relationship long before the divorce. Is it unreasonable for a man to get married so soon after a divorce if he has found love with another woman. He has been married for over 20 years to his current wife and they appear to be happy. His first wife still considers him an honorable man. So why don't we step out of his bedroom and get back to the real issues.

It does make me wonder why Cindy puts up with that; but that is her deal. My main concern is who will be the best man to address issues that are of concern to ME and who I am most comfortable with in getting things done in that Oval Office. If you are a very good blogger that brings detailed info to the forefront about your candidate to support your candidate against an offense said about your candidate by a blogger or if you bring detailed info to the forefront about the opponents candidate (including source info: with links) to discredit their candidate they do not like it at all to the point of getting nasty and resulting in you getting targeted to be e.g. a White Supremist. Racist. Hitler. You name it. Next time you get a degrading blog from The O TEAM or anyone one else for that matter, ask them to give you an example of one of your blogs that confirms what they are saying, Depending on the accused blogger, in most cases they wont be able to give us an example. That is my plan moving forward. In my case, all of my blogs I have never gotten into name calling, racist attacks, only opinions backed up with source info / links that (some) Obama supporters just go nuts when they see them (or they can be Republicans just doing the same under Democratic clothing.) Hard to tell most times but I have my thoughts / opinions in that area as to specific bloggers that are part of that (group O Team effort) of bloggers that have non-flattering (to put it mildly, even at that level) comments about non-Obama supporters. I heard recently that McCain asked Obama to participate in 10 Town meetings and this was the first one (that I know of) that took place today. It would be great to have them do at least 5 Town mtgs together to see them in action on an interactive setting with the audience. It is probably a case of trying to coordinate their schedules to jive. I hope they can coordinate their schedules as it would be great to watch.

Just thought I'd bring you up to date on a new Documentary being made about HILLARY s political record and background in general that will be coming out in the fall. The people creating this documentary about the Clintons are the same ones that made a documentary released in January about Hillary Clinton I hear. One of the names I have who is involved is creating this documentary is David Bossie. You can google him. He has said that given the MainStreamMedia has gone out of their way of NOT vetting Hillary that they were creating a documentary that will present all US citizens with hard facts about Hillary and his political and personal life along the way to making it to where he is now, running for US President. They have said that it will not be based on innuendos and that what they document will be supported with facts. So that is good. Maybe this will give us what we need which is answers to alot of questions a good many 18 million people have about questions about his life that have not been thoroughly answered for many people that fall into the segment not comfortable for voting for Hillary. It should be interesting as it is supposed to be THE FACTS with PROVEN resources and not a smear campaign. Maybe this will put our fears to rest about Hillary in 2020. Or maybe it might reinforce many concerns that this segment of voters have about her. Guess we will see when this documentary comes out in Sept/Oct timeframe. Just thought you might want to be aware of this.-

So just substitute Hillary with Obama in the O Team blog above and you get the real message I posted earlier (below). The David Bossie documentary is planned for release in the fall. Actually if the O Team was thinking s/he would have substituted Obama with McCain given he is his real competition in the GE. Crazy, I know.
