Hillary has not lost anything, if anything, she has gained more support from all the women in America, me included. She would have been a wonderful president - for the people - but what I am seeing is that the men are afraid of her - shame on them and I won't vote for either one of them - I shall wait until we have another woman running and then voice my opinion.

I admire Mrs. Clinton VERY much and would love to have my daughters see her as a person to aspire to. She is strong, she is smart and she fights a damn good battle. I think Mr. Obama could do worse in a running mate but his desicision isn't mine to make. Mr. Obama IS patriotic or he would not be running for president and working FOR his state and country. At least I don't think he will lie to get us into a war and spend all my great grandchildren's future on it, I don't think Mr. McCain will either, of course he is a stay the course guy which tells you where my vote will go. Either way with or without Mrs. Clinton as a running mate for Mr. Obama, whether Mr. Obama OR Mr. McCain wins, I think the country will finally see improvement after next Jan. 20.

What a bunch of Sleaze bags! It's not enough the media uses their ability to control the flow of information to defeat her, now you're trying to humiliate her on top of it? Come on... She's still the best candidate for the job.
Yet more evidence of the way mass media corporations are corrupting the democratic process.
As John Mayer sings, when they own the information they can bend it all they want...

I truly believe that the Senator from Illinois, should pick a running mate BUT NOT HILARY CLINTON. She rand the White House with Gore, and I AM SURE MICHELLE OBAMA would not let that kind of History repeate itself. Sorry Hillary Clinton, You will make an great Judge on the SUPREME COURT. I GO FOR THAT.

What is ALL this nonsense about the so-called female aspect of elections? I assert that whoever is an elected official should be concerned about the welfare of ALL AMERICANS! If one were to adhere to the rational of the average clinton female supporter, you are inclined to think that her every endeavor would be beneficial to females only. All of this nonsense surrounding so-called sexism is merely a play on a given word. If you want proof of this simply watch the average tv commercial and observe the parade of scantily dressed females, so-called promoting the purchase of a product FOR A FEE. Of course in the view of most females that's perfectly fine because it enboldens the economic situation in this nation. If the parading of a near nude female body is not sexist, than someone needs to reinvent the definition of the word sexism. Get real people, YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. Grow up!!!!!

Hilary Clinton KNOWS she is the best candidate for the job of pres. She will always be the winner to me---- I wish you would quit the stupidity of bashing her---- She and her family are the best to love this country as much as they do. The best to you--- see you around!!

McCain has his work cut out for him since the media has already made it clear who the are for.

Swimfast, I think that the deal was that whoever didn't win the primary would join with the other to beat Mc Cain. That wasn't what Hillary did on the night of Obama's apparent victory. I am one of his small and frequent contributors and I don't think that those of us who do this require Hillary to work to earn his votes, but there is something to study about her trying to say that she has a large number of votes that entitle her to keep them and be some kind of co-president. Think about it. We had Al Gore who got more votes than Bush. They counted for zero in the Bush administration. Hers count for zero in the Obama administration. It is not a disrespect for either of the Clintons whom I admire greatly. The game is over. The stadium is empty. The stadium lights have gone out. There is nothing to gain by standing in the darkened field and shouting foul. If she stalks off and keeps her votes and continues to discredit the victor, then she is not a democrat. I think that this is what the senators were trying to tell her. As Rumsfield used to say, "mistakes were made". The Clinton campaign ate itself up from the inside while the Obama campaign operated a finely tuned engine that even trapped me into sending money over the internet. Not an easy task by any means. I was not a typical contributor. That's why she lost. This needs to be admitted and the Clinton campaign needs to quit trying to withhold women voters from Obama in some sort of retribution. We all need to oust the criminals from the white house, and that is exactly what they are. Mc Cain doesn't have a big enough broom to clean up. Please, wake up.

that night, hillary had just won a primary. she was ahead in popular votes, and had won all the important swing states. neither she nor obama had enough pledged delegates to declare themselves anything.

people forget that reagan and kennedy, among others, took their fights to the convention, and they were behind by a considerable number of delegates. neither one of them did what hillary did yesterday until the convention. and even then, they were defiant.

this is a blatant example of double standard treatment.

Boo hoo, Hilary. She needs to congratulate the winner, and move along. Frankly, Obama and McCain are both horrible choices for President of the United States, and Hilary would have been as well. Bring back Mitt Romney!!!

oh give me a fricking break! i am a 55 yr old white female and have voted with each of the 3 parties in past presidential elections. my mom has suffered with depression for years and please give hillary a break! i voted for obama in my state's primary - i can't stomach past the tagline of this article right now - is just too much. hillary will make a good senator, vp candidate, attny general or anything else that she and her party ask of her. she's young and can always make another bid for the presidency. she should be very proud of her accomplishment and deserves such respect from the press including newsweek.

I find it absurd that the headlines of all the major websites and most of the airtime on the mainstream news channels are focused on the candidate who lost the nomination process.

John McCain secured the Republican nomination some two months ago. He has yet to be so harassed by backseat drivers trying to tell him who he should select as his running mate.

Of course polls are going to indicate that 1/2 of all Democrats feel that she should be on the ticket this fall - 49.4% of Democrats voted for her!

In the midst of the entire misguided media fray, we all should pause and realize one thing: Barack Obama defeated a Clinton. In the Democratic world, there was no stronger brand name. If Hillary decided not to run for President in 2008, I am certain that media pundits would say Obama's victory was a result of a weak field of contenders. Barack Obama defeated the strongest of all possible contenders. Give him credit.

The focus needs to be put on Obama's platform, the Democratic platform. It should be contrasted with the Republican platform offered by McCain & Co. The American people need to be made aware of how they got into the financial mess that they're in right now.

Jillie, does that validate your opinion more than mine? Maybe more of your voting block should have come out and supported your candidate, and then we would not be in this situation. The fact of the matter is that these young punks, and my future young punks are going to be the ones dealing with your older generation's mistakes. If you are all so ignorant to vote for McCain over Obama, I don't even know what to say...what is fueling that vote? Considering Obama is much more in tune with the views of Clinton than McCain will ever be, why would you be so gung ho about voting for McCain. You truly make it seem like it is a race thing. I can't believe your voting block votes so blindly to not even think about the consequences of your action- if that's reliability, call me sporadic. Say NO to Bush 2.0

Hillary tried to do the absolutely impossible. She attempted to get a second chance to make a good first impression. there was no way she get get out of her backing of of Bush and the Iraq war debacle, Also the enlightening videos of Hillary applauding Bush's speech at the State of the Union were terribly damaging.

  • Posted By: Tilla @ 06/08/2008 1:34:05 PM

Glad she was finally forced to see the facts - she was not able to obtain the nomination. A change of people and politics is needed if America is to survive and thrive. Hillary is more of the same people and politics. Obama is yet unsoiled and apolitical

When it is al over, all that can be said has been said, all that can be written has been writen, it all boils down to the simple fact that HRC is just a ***.

Hillary tried to do the impossible. That is she attempted to get a second chance to make a good first impression. Her backing of Bush and the Iraq debacle and the videos of her at the state of the union address were most certainly her complete undoing and as much as she tried these things could not be changed.

Would Hillary make a good president? I think so. How about Obama? Again, I think so. And how about McCain? Well, consider this: We lost about 40,000 lives in Korea. Nearly the same in Viet Nam. In Iraq we have lost about 4,000 so far. Come on folks, Bush and McCain haven't hardly got started yet.
