    Dude,
Did you watch her speech on Saturday? Did Hillary seem depressed to you?
Did you ever watch Steel Magnolias? Hillary is not from the South, but she is one strong woman, and she will handle things like all strong women with heart do: weep for a moment with those very closest to her, then get on with those things things that need doing.
She is a realist and very smart. Women like her don't wallow in self pity when important things require attention.

  • Posted By: AmericaToday @ 06/08/2008 1:23:05 PM

By the way, I really feel that the press' hatchet job on Hillary will come back to haunt them. Many women simply won't stand for it. Now were just supposed to get in line and vote for your messiah, Obama? I don't think so. My husband and I have just registered as Independents-Democrats no more. Not all voters are as stupid as you think. Some of us can think for ourselves.

You are not putting the blame were it should be placed. It is true that it is difficult for a candidate to win when the media is totaly biased against the candidate, but this is only one factor in HRC loss.

It is leftists like Ted Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi, Dean, Richardson,.Clyborn, Dona Brazil and a few others in the Democratic party (Senators, Representatives and Governers) who worked initially behind the back of the Clintons (who are centrists).

The best way to payback is to work our hearts out to make sure that they are not reelected. This accomplishes a number of things:

    1. We don't have to suffer them any more on TV and Radio.
    2. They loose their seniority and what is more important, it moves HRC UP in seniority, making her a true leader of the democratic party.
    3. It will move the Democratic Party back to the center. We will get our party back, and will control if (God forbid) the leftist america hating Obama wins the Presidency.

What do you think about the idea?

    • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/08/2008 2:52:16 AM

I would like to see at least one Hillary supporter take some responsibility for mistakes in the Clinton campaign, such as:

      1. Making Mark Penn, a pollster, her chief strategist.
      2. Not using multiple polling companies
      3. Taking most of her advice from a very small group of insiders and freezing out many of the other experts on her own management team that only wanted to help.
      4. Not having a contingency plan if the campaign went past Super Tuesday
      5. Ignoring the cacus states

I'll be the first to admit that hindsight is always 20/20, and despite these mistakes, she came very close to winning. But before you attribute the loss to something as vague as media bias, don't you think someone should take responsibility for the mistakes in her own campaign? These things were completely under her control. If only one of the above mistakes could have been avoided, she probably would have won - despite the alledged media bias (which I think is a fallacy).

      • Posted By: Jillie @ 06/08/2008 1:22:28 PM

i ama hillary supporter, and i would agree that her campaign made mistakes. however, the dnc and the media helped. read chuck todd's column about nancy pelosi pressuring sd's not to endorse hillary, and blocking funding for her. the rbc decision, especially about michigan, was atrocious. if those delegations had been seated properly, the difference in delegates would have been about 30.

as it is, hillary had to fight them all and with less money, managed to win more states and more votes in the latter part of the campaign. she did a remarkable job.

even now, after obama has been selected, after she gave one of the best speeches ever, some of the press and many of bo's supporters are villifying her.

it is for all these reasons that i cannot vote for him. i don't know if i will vote for mccain, but i cannot vote for obama.

Your idea is sad and not well thought out. By the time we get another chance to recreate America, there won't be an America...Mccain will take us into yet another war with a diminished armed forces still wishing and praying in Iraq which will lead to our defeat and all of us being enslaved and and treated like soap scum thanks to the MOST HATED MAN IN THE WORLD! I would expect that Hillary's loss will sting a little bit less than the aforementioned others due to the fact that 18 million of us voted for her. That is not humiliating. It is uplifting and she knows that all of us still support and believe in her. Now, my biggest question is why the media is holding her solely responsible for getting her supporters behind Obama. Shouldn't he have to work to earn our vote? Or is this just a set up so that if he loses yall can blame Hillary? Wouldn't be surprised,

      2. OPERATION CHAOS ?

      3. WHITE PEOPLE FOR ONLY WHITE PEOPLE ( BIGOT VOTE ) ?

      4. ELDERLY AND SCARED OF BLACKS ?

I felt a good deal of sympathy for Hilliary as I anticipated listening to her speach Saturday, but when the scheduled time for her to appear came and went, I began becoming uneasy. By the time she finally entered the hall, nearly 45 minutes late, sympathy had given way to disgust. What a total disregard for her audiences.

To those who want to vote for McCain so that Hillary can run in 2012:

You are voting for 2 conservative Supreme Court nominations.

You are providing a vote of approval for the regime that has damaged America more than any regime in your lifetime.

You are voting to continue the trend of a weak dollar, failing economy, and high oil/gasoline prices.

The most naive thing a person can think is that America can be kept on ice for Hillary Clinton in 2012. With gasoline at $7 per gallon, things will be very different. With an escalated war in the Middle East, particularly in Iran, things will be very different. With the global community distanced even further from America, things will be very different. Is Hillary Clinton worth all of this?

Ever since Obama won his 12 straight contests, the conservatives have backed off of Hillary Clinton and put all of their attention on Barack Obama. Are you deluded into thinking that she is squeaky clean? What happens if in 2010 a Scott McClellanesque book is written from inside the Clinton camp that deep-sixes any chance for HRC to show her face in public? Will you be happy with your McBush choice then? What does Hillary have in common with John McCain except for being White?

The time is NOW move America forward. You want to jeopardize America's future for a woman who has boldly lied to the American public, has run her biggest administrative project into bankruptcy, and has tried to play the victim along the way. Why the masochistic allegiance?

We all saw the same Hillary Clinton that you saw, and as true Democrats, we're not willing to bite off our noses to spite our faces. Why are you?

Courage???? Surely you jest. Do you mean like the "courage" she showed when she was under Bosnian sniper fire? Was THAT courage - when we have American servicemen and women who really are under sniper fire every day in Iraq and Afghanistan??? Was it "courageous" when she went on Jay Leno and laughed about it - by the way, this was the same week that Michael Monsoor, a young navy seal was awarded the Congrssional Medal of Honor for throwing himself on a grenade to save his fellow seals - THAT'S MY DEFINITION OF COURAGE.

How about the "courage" to support NAFTA, with her husband? Oh, I know, she showed more "courage" when she voted for the Iraq war, didn't she?

Nope, sorry - no sale. I howled with laughter when she finally admitted she had lost. America is a better country without these two self-serving, vile liars anywhere near the White House.

Politics is politics and it is never going to change whether it's Clinton, Obama or McCain. It would help if journalists would be less biased in their reporting and just report. Seems like it would be better if we didn't even know which candidates they were endorsing.

I do wish we had given the Clinton politician her opportunity to run the oval office. Her resume from the time
she was a youngster is incredible. Like all of her life she has been preparing herself for this office. After all the years of having men in office, it would have been grand to finally have a female. I was so anxious to see the difference. Some day I will.

The lesser qualified candidate has won; this is typical for the Democrats especially when they are lead by a leftist entrenched leadership. I as a middle age women have been vilified and attacked by the OBAMA goons, they did not want my vote during the Primaries, there is no reason to give it now to this bumbling, no good candidate. I as a long time Democrat and almost any other Democrat I know will vote for McCain, we love our country and are not going to let leftists like Soros, Carter, Axelrod, Ted Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi, Dean, Richardson BOBAMA be in office and destroy our country. Wake up America; vote for McCain and in local elections against the above Hunta, we should get rid of them in the same way we got rid of Daschle (who is trying to get back in through the back door).

And who told you they DID NOT want your vote?
DId Obama come and say this to you personally?

WHy would he "not want YOUR VOTE", out of the legions of new people he has helped register in this primary? Does he have beef with you personally?
SO, he's a goon cause he was better prepared?
Prior Planning & Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.
Hillary should not have decided she would be nominated by Super Tuesday.
Not Hillary, my bad, her campaign. She made bad management choices, but don't hate Obama cause he ran a terrific primary, had a plan, carried it out, and raised go gobs of money.

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/08/2008 2:31:00 AM

kag0roq , I do believe that Hillary with all the tenacity she has and the drive to do wonderful things for the people in our USA will not be limited to her not making it to the Democratic Nomination this year, given how the whole process worked. She knows, I know, other Hillary supporters know, that if this race of Obama against Hillary was so extremely close like it was (and that is with George Soros and company buying off the MainStreamMedia network(s) to kick Hillary to the curb and try to curb any vetting of Obama the best they could (e.g. with the Church thing exceeding anything they could imagine that they had to deal with even moreso), I have no doubt that Hillary would have been the democratic nominee who would have absolutely no problem winning the Presidency in the fall. But what is done is done and the way things will proceed is as follows: Obama will prove not to be the stronger candidate against McCain as predicted, McCain will win, in 2012 Hillary, after original claims she had the strength to win against the GoP, will be the next Democratic nominee (and Obama will be back in the Senate).

      • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/08/2008 3:08:00 AM

I think you over estimate the chances Hillary would have had against McCain. Once McCain became the republican nominee - poll after poll showed Clinton and Obama were running neck and neck with respect to their ability to beat McCain. Vice presidential selections are going to be important to both sides. Clinton (obviously) would be a good choice, so would Richardson, as well as some other potential candidates For McCain, he needs someone younger to alleviate fears about his age..

The other factor will be what Hillary and her supporters elect to do. Contrary to the post by some Obama supporters, we can't do it without your help. And before you say too bad, our candidate has been disrespected by the media and the Obama supporters, take time to understand what that means.

Do you really want four more years like the last eight - because don't kid yourself, that is exactly what you are going to get with McCain. As I mentioned before, go to the Wall Street Journal Online website, select politics, and then click on the interactive comparision between McCain and Obama. If you truely believe that McCain's viewpoints are better - then my all means vote for him. I may not agree with you, but I can respect the thought that went into the decision. What I can't respect is all these so called democrats who say they are going to vote for McCain because the media was biased, or the DNC was biased, for that Hillary and her supporters were disrespected - to throw out everything you believe in, everything that Hillary believes, for reasons like that does not seem rational to me. It is an emotional decision - which is not a great way to look at something this important.

        • Posted By: pramono @ 06/08/2008 3:32:05 AM

The first two paragraphs of your analysis are correct, but than you miss the big picture.

The Democratic party is composed of many groups two of which are the leftist group composed of people like Ted Kennedy, Kerry, Richardson, Pelosi, Dean, ... and a centrist group consisting of Clinton and many others. The Right side is always pushed out and becomes Independent or Republican.

Every few elections the leftists are able to push their candidate to the front, he tries to hide that he is a leftist, but the American public does not buiy it and votes a Republican as a President, the only time they voted someone from the leftist wing in was Carter, he was such a disaster that he was voted out in the following elections.

I am afraid that this is going to happen with Obama too, he is a creation of the leftist wing of the Democratic party, he made it so far due to the strong support of the left wing and hidding his true believes, The Reppublicnas know how to unmask false candidates (they have done it successfuly a number of times, and I don't see any reason why they will not do it again, in this case it will be easy. Obama is not a war hero, not a medal holder, his wife clearly hats amerrica, he has close ties to terrorists, he does not have any history of accomplishments (except as a small low level operator/organizer...)).

On the merits McCain simpoly dominates Obama, and it is a trivial choice between the two. If I want to feel safe in this country and when traveling abroad, I will vote for McCain this time, and at the same time make sure to work hard against thhe likes of Ted Kennedy, Kerry, Richardson, Pelosi, Dean .. so we get the Democratic party back to the center were the majority of Americans are.

          • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/08/2008 3:46:26 AM

You lose me when you make statements like "his wife clearly hates America, he has close ties to terrorists" because your're just buying into propaganda. And I think the way he organized and managed his campaign speaks volumes about his ability to run this country. As far as the republican dirt machine, I'm not worried about that - I give the American people more credit, they are not going to buy into that crap anymore.

And as far as feeling safe - I don't know how anyone can say they feel safer now than when GWB first took office. It won't be any better under McCain. Obama is spot on - under GWB we have alienated the entire world - including many of our allies - with our selfishness and arrogance. McCain will just continue that.

            You're definitely in the minority.

I am an Expat and have lived in Switzerland for the past 19yrs. If I am spat on, slapped and threatened in a "Peaceful" , "Neutral" country such as Switzerland; what must other Expats be going through!

What I see as a major part of the problem is that ; a large majority of the American public has still failed to realize that we are apart of the world . Our politics affect what goes on around us!

Many need to realize that this whole thing is so much more than a "singular" candidate. This is about our and our childrens futures!

          • Posted By: raye1 @ 06/08/2008 7:06:45 AM

pramono: I am an American who has lived abroad for the past 19 yrs! I can tell you that since Bush has taken office, Expats have had to live in CONSTANT FEAR of terrorist attacks and attacks on the street from folks when they figure out that we are Americans!

You need to take not only a local view of this election, but an international view. The world is excited about Obama. He won 70-30 in the Democrats Abroad vote on Super Tuesday. Should'nt that tell you that the argument that McSame makes about leaders around the world not trusting Obama is a blatant lie? Europe and the rest of the world live in FEAR of a McSame win. They fear a 2nd war and an even deeper world wide fall of the dollar.

I have lived in Switzerland for 19yrs. And I can tell you that for the first time in History...the dollar is either below or one to one with the Swiss Franc!

But you bitter Hillary supporters can blame everyone and anyone you want; and you can cast your vote for anyone you want. But mark my words...you and you alone will suffer the after effects of your vote! Obama and Clinton are millonaires, they will not suffer financially.

But what I find makes no sense whatsoever, is that even your own candidate Clinton has said it is in your own best interest to vote for Obama. This is about more than just our candidates, it is about the country. And do you not think that Obama is smart enough to get the best and the brightest for his cabinet? Did he not run his campaign on budget , on target with no inside drama amoung staff? Hillary has to take responsibility for how her campaign was run. Not Obama. Stop trying to make Obama responsible for Hillarys mistakes.

He speech was gracious and I felt that she really meant what she said. That is why I, as an Obama Co-Chair for his Swiss German Region Campaign donated 100$ to Hillary to help clear some of her debt. I know loads of other Obama supporters who are willing to do likewise. But some of you bitter Clinton supporters somehow are under the mistaken impression that we who support Obama have to beg, plead and kiss your backsides for your votes. We are in this together! We will rise together or fall together. The choice is up to you.

God Bless Us All, And God Bless The United States Of America!

p.s. Folks are sometimes under the impression that "Expats" cannot vote, we are still U.S. Citizens. We just live "abroad" or outside the continous United States.

And Bin Laden is still fighting the Crusades and Iraq is irrelevant tot his agenda - we in the US now have to figure out how to contain Iran without Saddam as this was his only use to the West.
If terrorism is to be controlled in the Middle East, Israel has to stop giving lip service to peace and stop illegally taking land. Or the US has to stop taking sides.

She is resilient and, after she gets a long rest (well-deserved), she will be in there behind Obama. She is also superbly intelligent and she knows that her future is tied to his success. If she gives him a flat-out effort and he succeeds, she will be richly rewarded. She will be moved up the hierarchy or, more useful to her, she will be given the Health and Human Services portfolio. Her health plan was better than Obama's and he may give her the authority she needs to go at it the right way -- as a power in her own right rather than as the wife of the President of the US. She can then stand as a real hero to the millions of men, women and children who finally get the coverage they need and as someone who stood up to the drug company lobby and made them negotiate prices for bulk purchases of drugs. Nobody would have to forego the medication they need for cancer or diabetes because a drug company wants to make obscene profits. She would emerge from four years of an Obama administration a lioness.

It is all good for her. She just has to get some shuteye and then roll up her sleeves and go around the country explaining to people that the difference is between BushIII and a real President.

The bottom line is that the pro-Obama/ anti-Clinton cowards of Newsweek/MSNBC did everything they could to get Hillary out of the game months ago, and she humiliated them every time. The news media in this country is a joke. We don't need a state run press when we have biased, hacks like Maureen Dowd, Jon Alter, Chris Matthews, Kieth Olbermann, and Howard Fineman, running around, "pretending" to be REAL journalists. I for one can gauruntee that if Hillary is not on the ticket in November, Obama and his media pals can have fun watching Jon McCain win the WH...and I will vote for him, just to spite them.

In real life I am more concerned about "Paying the Price" if we vote for Obama. The word "Change" has been floating around during every Democrat run for the White House but has prooved to be meaningless rhetoric. This time, the only change I see from his speaches and iealogy is change from free Americans to Socialized Americans. You are right, this is real life, so grow up. Look at ALL issues. Not the fact that a candidate is republican or democrat, white or black, etc.... What do they want to do to the country? How are they going to keep our country safe? These are the things in the "REAL WORLD" that we should be concerned with.
