I'm sorry, Rhonda and Lori, but I can't agree with what you're saying. I was made CRAZY by the things Hillary did during the primaries, but I feel that as of Wednesday, when she supported Obama at a meeting of a Jewish organization in NYC, and even more so today when she officialy gave her speech asking her supporters to vote for Obama, she has redeemed herself.

Yes, she suspended her campaign rather than resigned completely. But so did Edwards. I think that your saying she suspended because she has a 'hit" out on Obama is not only going too far, it actually doesn't make sense. Think about it. If Obama was assassinated Hillary would become the Democratic nominee whether she had resigned completely or just suspended, so trying to read some deeper meaning into it doesn't really work. I do think that she suspended because psychologically that was easier for her to take. And honestly, if you read this article and saw how other former contenders described their state of mind after losing, I think we need to give Hillary a break here. She is doing the right thing. She will continue to do the right thing. And if you want Obama to win, then you will tone down your anti-Hillary blogs, because Obama needs her voters, and it is stupid for you to go around alienating them. It's over. Your guy won. Let it go.

    Sincerely, Nins

Calling Jonas Salk, calling Jonas Salk. There is still the need to cure the permanent mental disorder called Clintonian Syndrome (patient above) which has symptoms of feverous rantings about Hillary and/or Bill Clinton. LOL

The media was totaly biased during the p-rimaries campaign, against HRC. Especially Jerks like Mattews, Olberman, Fineman, Alter, Russel,... But at least in their case they did not hide their biases and desplayed them openly and directly. The rest of the media is simply incompetent. This is the same media who gave a free pass to Bush during the 2000 elections, not recognizing in advance what a disaster and incompetent President he will be.

I believe that they are making the same mistake with Obama, we will discover that he is totally incompetent as a President, has a bias to the left (marxism), in the same way that Bush has a bias to the Right.

For those of you who forgot "I am a uniter not a divider ..." no one challenged Bush when he used these words. The same way that there is no challenge of Obama using "Change as his battle cry.

I wish we hadd true Journalists who do their job. America will be better of if they are real Journalists.

What is wrong with you people? I have never read such anti-American remarks in my life. If you really were a true Democrat and cared about this country, you would NOT vote for John McCain. Racism is alive and well in this country. Senator Obama ran an brillant campaign. Senator Clinton did not. She lost fair and sqaure. I am a women. I am so sick of hearing that she was treated unfair. You want unfair? Read up on slavery in America!

Based on the accounts I have read, I am very proud of the New England Congressmen Barney Frank and Charlie Rangel. When other weak legislative leaders thought it more important to console Senator Clinton after her non-concession speech, the "tell-it-like-it-is" congressmen sounded the alarm and made clear to the Clinton camp that this is not the time to be feeling sorry and resting on her laurels. There is no two week period for Senator Clinton to "figure out what she will do next". There is a democratic presidential bid at stake and every day their party is not attacking the republican nominee, is another day he gets stronger. If Hillary wanted some reflection time she should have ended her race after Obama captured 11-straight contest. The delegate count numbers were in, and every one knew they would split the remaining states. We all knew it was over back then. Hillary could have used March or April for rest. But countdown time to November GE is short and fast approaching. So what were those legislators thinking telling Hillary to go off and ponder the matter for a couple weeks? Are they out of their minds?!!

When oil rates are breaking records daily and now at $138 a barrel; when job unemployment growth continues spiraling at dizzying heights; when home foreclosures are at a record high since WWII; when the price of food is simply unaffordable and people resort to stealing, killing or dumpster diving for their meals; when the Republicans pat themselves on the back with pride because there were "only 19 US soldiers killed" in last month's non-ending Iraq war; when the Republican presidential nominee run on the same failed policies of the current administration; when frustration continues to mount over lost American jobs, a stretched & tired military, broken drug & health care system, broken immigration system, and an increasingly lethargic and apathetic mega-corporate class; THIS IS NOT THE TIME for Hillary Clinton to 'freeze the Democratic nomination' process while she take two weeks off. The Democratic party is on a world saving mission and every day lost waiting to see what Hillary wants is tantamount to giving the current administration a third term in office for continuous divisive, indifferent, and reckless demolition of the United States of America. The Democratic Party needs to unite and fight now! There are no more free days until after November???s General Election.

Gay old Barney the child molester and fat Charley Wrangle are what is WRONG with the party. Since Hillary actually won the vote of more people than Obama she deserved to do what she felt necessary...without her Obama has about a zero chance of winning.

How do you explain that someone with a virtual 100% name ID could lose an election? It's very easy, that same name ID exposes the viseral hatred most of this country has towards the Clintons. If she can't win in her own party, how could she win the whole country? She got 18 million primary votes in what has been a big energized Dem turnout. Where does she get another 35-40 million votes to win the general. On the other hand Obama has many, many demographic issues. If Hispanics feel safe with McCain,Obama can mail it in in Western swing states. High gas prices are bringing into focus how liberal policies have cut down on domestic production of energy. Bill Clinton closed off millions of acres of Federal land to exploration after big cmapaign donations from fat cat Indonesians who want to keep natural gass revenues flowing to thier pockets. Clinton vetoes ANWAR drilling which could have been another million barrels a day on the market. The world cabal of oil producres are keeping supply low to eep rices high and we can't fight back. The funny thing is liberal policies are killing union jobs in auto makers and airlines.

    • Posted By: tired and old @ 06/08/2008 11:00:21 AM

      CLINTON = POND SCUM.

Mc CAIN = PROFITS FOR BIG BUSINESS AND LOBBYISTS.

OBAMA = HOPE AND CHANGE FOR " WE THE PEOPLE ".

    • Posted By: abfabinri @ 06/08/2008 10:09:31 AM

McCain will do nothing for economy as drilling in ANWAR would do nothing for country...very little. We need more nuclear power and less dependence on oil. McCain's party is too friendly with big oil and he would change nothing.

The Clintons have done this country a world of good and they are not through doing this country a lot of good. I admire them for this. There were some questionable tricks during the campaign, but I tend to blame their staff for the flawed strategy. When you have good leaders, then you have to leave their personal lives out of it. Sort of the way that people do for the Mega Preachers. One of them was arrested for soliciting prostitutes on the streets of New Orleans a few years ago. He cried on TV and asked for forgiveness and a whole lot of people did. If a preacher can get by with this stuff, then why not a president? Besides, sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the two.

    TO "SHARENEWS":
FOX Cable News??!! You got to be kidding! That is the Dick-Chaney Republican Network. They don't know how to present a straight story without political slant, even if GOD himself requested it. Remember this is the same Cable News network that cheered on Ken Starr for 6-years to hound the Clinton's over some land and financial dealings. After congress spent $52 million and 6-years, FOX was happy to report the only thing to come out of the Ken Starr's investigation is Monica???s stained blue dress. Of course FOX ran the stained blue dress story far longer then any other Cable News group. They cheered on the impeachment attempts and effectively made it near impossible for President Clinton to run the nation's business while preparing his legal defense.

How ironic is it that the same people feeling sorry for 'Sniper Fire, Annie Oakley Hillary Clinton' had no sympathy when she needed it the most as the wife of an utterly humiliated husband & president who embarrassed her on the world stage. What a bunch of hypocrites you are. A VOTE FOR JOHN McSAME IS A VOTE AGAINST EVERYTHING SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON CAMPAIGNED FOR. A VOTE FOR McSAME IS A VOTE AGAINST: (1.) Women's rights; (2.) Forced prostitution in America and abroad; (3.) Ending the war in Iraq; (4.) Universal Health Care; (5.) Lock-box Social Security; (6.) The reversal of lost jobs to overseas slave-labor countries; (7.) Tax breaks for the middle class; (8.) Special corporate-welfare (aka research money) for the likes of Exxon-Mobil; (9.) Real progressive environmental changes; (10.) Knowledgeable U.S. economic expertise and not this voodoo economic crap of the past 7-years.

Now please think about that when you switch to John McSame. And ask yourself why FOX don't spend real investigative time on these stories. Or maybe you are the kind that rather spend time on small-minded things FOX deems worthy like who is wearing the flag pins today. Oooooohhh, what an imporant issue! NOT!! Or maybe FOX can cover a 'real important story' like who was seen at a party with Obama 15-years ago? NOT!!

I believe that it was Bill Clinton who said not too long ago when someone complained about the Clinton campaign trying to climb up by pulling Obama down, that politics is a contact sport. That means that you are tough and that you can take it. I will never cease to admire the Clintons for many things too numerous to list, but I would appreciate it if they would stop this noise about the pain of defeat. It's what happens to one or the other when a contest is over. It could just as well have been Obama. But, it wasn't. Get over it.

The media did the same job on this campaign that they did on the run up to the Iraq war. One sided all the way. Isn't it hard to call yourselves actual journalists? People like Chris Matthews, Bill O'Reilly and Keith Olberman do a disservice to this country and are not "real" journalists but overpaid pundits. Very few "journalists" seemed to report facts this year and preferred gossip type shock news....pathetic. Time for a change

  • Posted By: alvinernest @ 06/08/2008 7:53:12 AM

This milestone is about redefining America, by bringing its people together by creating a new mainstream that includes all citizens; but this campaign will also create new minorities, not on the basis of race or religion but on the basis of political persuasion. These new minorities will begin a new chapter of American experience as they will unwittingly become the foundation of the mainstream; galvanising people of different races and religions who do not want to return to the politics of the past... so it is healthy and good for our emerging politics that these new minorities exist... ironically, their existance creates the binding force of the emerging majority... so I say to people let them have their say... allow them to shout as loud as they may for in the end they will only consolidate our new politics... Good will always win over evil...

Do not mix and or compare apples wth oranges. Clinton lost to a racial charged Obama but such basis upon which to earn support lasts merely one season. Hillary is not Kennedy who could hide behind the publicly preceived ideals of his family. He was of no substance ad he claimed the presidecy on the cocktails of his family name. Clinton is not a fish taken out of the water but merely a fish that must become accustomed to area of the waters. The ones who collapsed and get depressed over the loss, ate they ones not to entilted to what tnhey aspired. Common folks lose their jobs, their homes and are not relegated to depression. Hillary was in there as of right and despite Bill's presence. No one could have done better. Hillary would rise again and history would treated her as a true American amazon. Her rise would start from the day McCain is elected to the presidency and will reach zenith in 2012 not with the presidency but as the only power house of the democrats's party

HRC supporters - it hit me tonight that we can do something constructive to show our displeasure regarding the outcome of the Democratic primaries. Unfortunately, I saw Keith Olbermann say that if Barack loses, it's all Hillary's fault. I was in absolute disbelief. I've sent MSNBC e-mails, etc., but to no avail.

So, here's my idea. Let's set up Operation Payback (Nins - you get credit for the name after thinking I was involved in Operation Chaos). As of today, I've cancelled my subscription to Newsweek and will NEVER watch MSNBC again. My relatives have done the same. If we hit these media outlets who have so mistreated Hillary in the pocketbook, maybe we can at least address some of the anger we're all feeling.

Obama supporters - do us all a favor and stay out of this with putdown comments. I think that this gives HRC supporters something we can do that is constructive and places blame (at least from my perspective) where it is due.

Hillary supporters - what do you think? If we pass this along to our friends, families and post it everywhere, I think we can make a difference.

    • Posted By: pramono @ 06/08/2008 2:35:33 AM

By the way, boicoting MSNBC and Newsweek will not accomplish a thing. It shows that you don't understand the financing of the two organizations.

Most of their income comes from advertisers. Thus, the most effective way to heart them is to anounce and make sure that anyone who advertises with them will be boicoted by HRC supporters. You will be amazed how quickly shady characters likke Mattews, Olberman, Feinman, Alter, Russel will be tossed under the Bridge.

      • Posted By: dreffein @ 06/08/2008 4:21:01 AM

While I don't appreciate the insult, I do take your point. The question is how to mobilize to do this. I'm open to suggestions.

    • Posted By: mandy_p1856 @ 06/08/2008 1:12:32 AM

Let's face reality and put the blame where it belongs - the blame lies with the errors in our campaign not with any outside forces. Hillary has moved on. Why can't we?

      • Posted By: dking312 @ 06/08/2008 3:26:05 AM

        Thank you MANDY!!

Why don't folks get it...no one's against Hillary!
DIdn't like some of the tactics she used, but who's fault is that?

Like most Obama supporters, Hillary was a consideration for me (I'm black + I'm female)....
SO, I guess I should have just been a whiner no matter who won & who lost?
Of course not...cause I'm a black, female DEMOCRAT.

Either or is 100 times better than Mccain.

    • Posted By: pramono @ 06/08/2008 2:15:38 AM

You are not putting the blame were it should be placed.

It is leftists like Ted Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi, Dean, Richardson,.Clyborn, Dona Brazil and a few others in the Democratic party (Senators, Representatives and Governers) who worked initially behind the back of the Clintons (who are centrists).

The best way to payback is to work our hearts out to make sure that they are not reelected. This accomplishes a number of things:

      1. We don't have to suffer them any more on TV and Radio.
      2. They loose their seniority and what is more important, it moves HRC UP in seniority, making her a true leader of the democratic party.
      3. It will move the Democratic Party back to the center

What do you think about the idea.

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/08/2008 1:07:52 AM

Hi dreffein, Glad to see you back. If I subscribed to Newsweek I would definitely have canceled it. I never watch MSNBC....stopped watching it 5 months ago. But both those things are a place to try as a rebellion to these media sources. But not sure if it will ultimately make the difference we want, but wont hurt to make us feel better passing this onto our families and friends. I think in add'n to the media (which Obama supporters bought out majorly, George Soros comes to mind as well as a few network owners) it is the DNC I am so in disarrest with for their bias towards Obama from the very start when he really started campaigning, right up until the very end. The DNC in itself gets me so mad to manipulate when the end results were for Obama becoming the nominee for the GE that it makes me want to start a force to rally all Hillary supporters to send a message to the DNC by not voting or voting for mcCain or Bob Barr (whom I am also exploring as a vote in the fall). It would be cutting our nose off to spite our face, but it would surely hit home with the DNC if we all were focused on such a retaliation (Operation Payback would be a great name. LOL. Well, those are my thoughts as to where we would get more bang for the buck but we would have to have a republican , McCain in the white house for 4 years (but h*ll, he is no Bush as I continue to see repeating over and over the more I research his site and other sites on the Internet). I dont know. Just ranting and venting here . Hope all is good with you. :-)

I'm the demographic. I am a 62 year old, white woman, from Pennsylvania, who supported Hillary Clinton with my heart and my contributions. I am disappointed with the way the Democratic primaries were run. Inept rules and biased reporting. Well, its over. Obama will not put Hillary on his ticket. He can't afford to be overshadowed by her or Bill. I can't vote Rebuplican since they have torn the country apart. Where does that leave me? I hope to learn more about Barack Obama so that I can vote for him with with support and not as the lesser of two evils. (The lesser of two evils is still evil.) Heaven help us. We need a miracle. I hope he is up to the job.

Y'all can learn from this lady. Okay, you haven't had the opportunity to discover barack fully, except what you have "heard". Darn right you should be cautious to just give your vote away.
But at least you are willing to get the facts, learn this guy's true character.
AS Stevie Wonder said...it's like JFK & MLK rolled into one. Yes he's young. Yes he has lots of new ideas.
But hink of him as a champion of good and honesty.
I know back before my time people touted JFK & MLK as evil men trying to overturn what the govt wanted to be it's reality. Which lead to their deaths, unfortunately. People assume different is bad, and that's just not true.
He's black, he's white, he's grown up in more than just our civilization. He understands diversity, poverty, and prosperity. How can he be on one side more than the other? He encompasses us all to some degree.

Hillary down and out, my heart bleeds for her, NOT!!! Don't remember this kind of article for Biden, Dodd, Edwards, Richardson or any of the Republican candidates. I forgot, this is "historic". What a bunch of useless dribble. Candidates ran and candidates dropped out. A nominee was chosen. Not historic, just a fact. She ran, she lost. Done. Finished . Don't need to hear her concession speech. Don't need in indepth study of her battle and how she lost. Time for the general election. Move on already.

    • Posted By: pramono @ 06/08/2008 2:46:34 AM

Dog, you forget that none of them (Biden, Dodd, Edwards, Richardson ) including Obama never came close or won the majority of the voters votes.

      • Posted By: dking312 @ 06/08/2008 2:56:18 AM

Did you not check out the final numbers after the final primaries? Obama did in fact ALSO win the pop vote....by a slim margin no doubt.

Obama isn't the nominee because he won less of anything, I'll tell you that.

Stop playing into EVERYTHING YOU HEAR.

        • Posted By: pramono @ 06/08/2008 3:08:27 AM

Stop repeating Obama lies. I looked at the numbers state by state and HRC won more votes (actual votes) than BOBAMA did. So stop spreading BOBAMA lies!!!

          • Posted By: dking312 @ 06/08/2008 3:33:55 AM

You must be doing that "NEW MATH".
Nobody cares what you looked at, the fact is that nominees are elected on D_E_L_E_G_A_T_E_S.
Y'all knew this prior to the strat of the race...didn't complain then...so how bout some shut-lip?
Hold your dignity! WHat the hell is "actual votes"? (I know, you're referring to that other math) Sorry. TRY AGAIN.
Of course Hillary had better name recognition. so , yes they virtually split the pop vote Duh. What did she do with all the advantages she entered the race with?
She probably used the most toilet tissue too. Yeah!

      • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/08/2008 3:20:00 AM

Please, not that tired popular vote argument again. We don't elect nominees or presidents by popular vote, if we did, GWB never would have been president and the country wouldn't be in the mess that it is. Also, everyone knows the popular vote math is fuzzy.

Having said that, I do have compassion for Hillary. All this particular article covered was the emotional impact that happens at the end of the campaign. For me, the article was about realizing Hillary needs some time to come to terms with where things are at. I think she deserves that.

Also, she is far from being done when it comes to this presidential race. Besides the possibility of a VP slot, when Obama wins (I know that is assumptive, but I just wrote it to tweek the republicans on this board), there are a number of cabinet positions she could potentially take, Secretary of Defense or Secretary of State are two viable options. Also, given how important healh care is to her, maybe Secretarty of Health and Human Services is an option.

If you're really a Hillary supporter, don't automatically assume it is in her best interest to have Obama lose so she can run again in 2012. That might not be the case.
