Also, I do have to say that Newsweek has been unashamedly "pro" Obama for months, and Hillary has been their obvious target. And I am not even a Hillary fan!

All I can say is that 18 million people aren't going to go away. Obama ought to be on his knees to Hillary and Bill for their help. If Obama doesn't want Hillary because he can't handle Bil, he hasn't got the kahunas to be Prez anyway. A few of those middle eastern people will have him for lunch if he can't work with Bill!
So much ignorance, so little sanity here. Count Newsweek in the same bed with MSNBC and a few of the other media 'boys' Did anyone see Lions and Lambs, with Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise et al? That is the truth of the situation with politicians and the media., right down to the silly war we are in that is destroying lives.

I think Obama will make a big mistake if he picks Clinton for his running mate. There is too much bad vibes between the two of them. She didn't do right by him and used every trick in the book to humiliate him, but it turned back on her. She cries that the press did her wrong, but she only brought it on herself.. She can't be trusted. Now that she has proclaimed him the winner and asked her people to back him, that should be it . Give itenoughenough

I really dont want to see her as VP either and Im one of her supporters.. Im sure she would be in a stifling position as a VP as she would be doing whatever Obama would want to turn over to her to get done and I cant see them two working together either. I can see Hillary doing more good in the Senate, getting involved with establishing the new Health Care plan and doing other initiatives she can really get her arms around. But we still dont know what is in her head. If I were her Id be thinking this:

1 - Dont take the VP position if she was asked. She will remain in senate (see above), go on to be Gov. of NewYork and get even more experience under her belt.
2 - Obama will proove that he was unable to go the whole 9yrds up against McCain & will lose in the fall.
3 - McCain will do his ONE term and be done with it.
4 - As Hillary will have that much more experience from 2008 - 20010 she will start up her run for President for 2012 Election.

Thats my thinking, but alot of IFs in that. Time will tell.
      4.-

      • Posted By: swebster13 @ 06/09/2008 1:05:13 AM

What makes you think that she would get any more done in the Senate? About the only thing she is known for in the Senate is her voting for the war in Iraq. How pathetic.

        • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/09/2008 1:09:48 AM

Oh, Sweetie, you are SO uninformed. But then, you are an Obama supporter.

          • Posted By: swebster13 @ 06/09/2008 1:44:23 AM

Wow, did you just call me "Sweetie", one of the most sexist things you can call a woman? I believe you did. So you are doing basically what the Clinton campaign is claiming was done to them? I have a degree in Political Science and a Doctorate in Business. And I happen to be Independent. and do not consider myself at all uninformed. I love to hear you all talking about what you are going to do to avenge Hillary's defeat. Know why? Because it is the kiss of death for any political future that the Clintons may have had. The Democrats won't touch her with a ten-foot pole because her followers screwed up the chance for the Democrats to regain the White House. The Republicans wouldn't want her, period. And the Independents would never consider her a solid and serious candidate. Keep on keeping on. But can you please leave out the sexist titles? I do not appreciate them. However, you may call me Dr. if you like.

            • Posted By: Liberal Lady @ 06/09/2008 2:14:06 AM

Stereotyping Obama supporters is fun! Elitist vitrol. If you are really secure in who you are why would you have to 'prove' it to some blue collar Hillary supporter? Funny! The bottom line is that Obama can't win without Hillary's people now can he? Should he decide to select someone else for a VP other than Hillary, he can kiss the White House goodbye. I will vote Democratic but many won't. Much of Obama's support will fade away to Republican from where it originated. Oh yes, the black vote will stay because they were encouraged to vote 'color,' understandably so. 12% total population won't do it. Hillary's women and blue collar voters will stay home or vote McCain and Obama will lose his chance just as Kerry and Gore lost theirs. Parties need to change voting specs. This isn't working.. DNC is really two parties now. We need a viable third party in this country. Then maybe the other two parties will get their act together to respect the will of the people they represent.

              • Posted By: sebr01stl @ 06/09/2008 3:01:59 AM

The black vote was "encouraged" to vote color? Really? When? I could have sworn that they were 'enouraged' to show Bill and Hillary respect by voting for them, for all their good years in the White House. You know it's really funny that the only way for AAs to show that they aren't against all the whites (for whom they've previously voted pracically EVERY election cycle) is to make sure that they DON'T support an AA candidate should one run. Funny litmus when it's not beholden to whites to prove that they aren't racist BY voting for Barack. No, he has to be perfect, in order for that to happen, and even then, he's still just a little too brown....And all the white women can create all this turmoil, and it's neither sexist nor racist. Interesting. Maybe you were "encouraged" to vote white racist b*']&%

            • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/09/2008 2:34:57 AM

Oh, Swebster, Im feeling just a bit guilty now. I am a Hillary supporter that is a woman. I baited you with that statement to see how you would react. I just wanted to see how you felt cuz I did not appreciate as a woman the response that Obama gave that female reporter 'in passing' with a Sweetie remark (and again in another instance with a female person asking a question). But maybe given your response to my blog you might have a sensitivity how being called Sweetie feels?

              • Posted By: sebr01stl @ 06/09/2008 3:15:42 AM

Then you should really LOVE he fact that McCain called his faithful ex-wife ,upon HE cheated, a c*NT in PUBLIC before he traded her in for Barbie Doll rich heiress Cindy, young enough to be his daughter, about a month after the divorce was final! THIS is the feminists' answer for being so-called disrespected by Obama (for "sweetiegate"), for him 'stealing' the nomination, for the media crucifying her over "bittergate" and Rev. Wright??Oh, that's right. that was OBAMA. LOL

                • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/09/2008 3:45:12 AM

Okay, I think you just cleared things up for me with that rumor (or maybe not a rumor) about McCain calling a wife (was it the ex-wife as I never had that cleared up as being the case but to me if they were going thru a divorce that would have been the case and not it being Cindy). ANYWAYS, Im not sure where to continue other to say (as I cant remember details in your blog at this point) did MCcain focus hist hait monguring on his EX or did he ever direct it to his current wife. Sounds lie you brought me up to date and if not let me know. Doesnt excuse MCain for saying C word if he said it (url ?) but if he did it was not a good thing, but of course.

But I did want to add this: As a woman I have to say that I and other woman I am sure are so proud that you have achieved a degree in Political Science and a Doctorate in Business. It definitely is something to be very proud of . I mean that. .

I look on and read with a hint of amusement as an outsider, but also with a sense of trepidation (because it does affect the world as a whole)as you the Americans decide who next enters the portals of the White House! Mr. Obama is a dapper and charismatic individual but is ill equiped to guide your country, with no experience to recover the damage Bush has wreaked upon America. If it was Colin Powell, I would say YES. Although Clinton may be seen by some as "Oh! No! Not you again" He did depart the White House leaving America in an economically stable and certainly viewed as a more popular country abroad. I do hope when the time comes that you (America) will apply reasoning behind your vote and not vote for a smile or charisma!

If Hillary had not chosen to make some of the very crass statements that she did, I believe that she would be reaping the rewards of all her hard word. Instead, now she has time to think about all the troubling comments that seemed to just roll off her tongue as of late.

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/09/2008 6:36:45 AM

Debbylee, can you remind me of Hillarys specifc crass statements? Thanks.

TO STAND IN FRONT OF A WICKED WITCH HILLARY IS DANGEROUS.

And NO! it has nothing to do with the color of his skin, or his age; it has a hell of a lot to do with what as an AMERICAN I believe in!.

How destructive to the U.S. economy would a Barack Obama presidency be?

An exclusive Newsmax analysis warns: There could be a very rough time ahead.

Beneath Obama's flowery rhetoric lies a dangerous economic plan that will wreak havoc on the American economy.

Obama plans to return to the failed policies of high taxation coupled with an expansion of government spending.

Worse, Obama says he is absolutely committed to almost doubling the capital gains rate ??? something he will easily accomplish with a Democrat Congress.

In the coming months ??? when investors realize that Obama will raise the cap gains rate ??? there could be a stampede of asset sales as investors rush to take their profits now to avoid Obama's doubling of the tax rates next year.

All of these issues and more are explored in Newsmax magazine's special report "Obamanomics ??? the Coming Tax-and-Spend Nightmare," by Wall Street Journal columnist John Fund.

This Newsmax magazine special report gives Americans the first in-depth look at the Democratic presidential candidate's likely strategies ??? and how they will affect not just the larger economy, but your personal wealth as well.

Indeed, Obama makes no bones about his plans to go on a tax rampage. Not only would he increase the capital-gains tax rate from 15 percent to as much as 28 percent, he wants to allow the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts to expire in 2010, which effectively raises taxes on Americans by tens of billions of dollars.

He also wants to do away with the $102,000 FICA payroll tax cap, which means anyone making over $102,000 would pay an additional 7 percent in taxes on earned income.

And the loan dividend tax rate George Bush implemented? Under President Obama it will be DOA!

  • Posted By: Ganpat @ 06/09/2008 8:23:18 AM

    Hillary is a disappointment.

By covering Obama with sugaruy praise she is throwing away the possibilioty of running in 2012.

A dignified endorsement of Obama while keeping her own reservations would have been far wiser.

    • Posted By: Emanuel @ 06/09/2008 9:57:52 AM

You are deluded if you think the Presidency can be kept on ice for Hillary Clinton in 2012.

Firstly, that would imply that John McCain was able to appoint TWO conservative Supreme Court Justices. It would also imply that George Bush's economic plan was able to continue. It would also send a message to the Republican Party that they have done a good job over the past eight years.

Do you want to see the Supreme Court with an 8-1 conservative majority? Hillary doesn't.

Do you want to see George Bush's tax plan which favors the rich at the expense of the wealthy continue? Hillary doesn't.

Do you want to see Social Security privatized? Hillary doesn't

Do you want to see the possibility of universal healthcare replaced with inadequate tax subsidies? Hillary doesn't.

Do you want to see $7 per gallon by 2010?

John McCain is no replacement for Hillary Clinton. If you are putting a candidate ahead of the Democratic platform, then you are not a true Democrat.

        A.B.C.

NOT MY IDEA ;BUT I AGREE WITH IT 100%.

HILLARY WOULD WANT 8-1 IF SHE WAS THE ONE.

It has never ceased to amaze that the media knows so much more than a candidate about what she/he is thinking and, despite being wrong most of the time, soldier on in their scurillous comments calculated to raise their ratings..

One comment here stood out--the suggestion tha Hillary should have been mor magnanimous? Is there a reason why men, and some of their misguided female supporters, should hold woomen to one standard and men to another. Not once in the 16 months did anyone suggest that Obama (or his alter ego Michelle) suggest tha he, a man ought to show even a touch of magnanimity, even as the media jackals ran a brutal sexist campaign against Hillary.

I do not underestimate the powere of socialization, especially having been a victom of sexism most of my life (but I I achieved a superior career in a man's world nonetheless), but can't those women who make vicious comments about other women understand that this simply diminishes them as human beings?

A career is a career, but at what price? How many women's bodies do other women have to step on in theiro onw hysterical ascent to thei fabled 15 minutes?
Why not let this amazing woman, who delivered an historic address on Saturday find her own way without the venomous help of all those in the media (especially the "sisters") who feel such an urgent need to dance on her grave?!
she will come through an even bigger person than she has already shown herself to be.
    Get over it "girls."

Republicans in office benefit a very small percentage of the public. Their only way to get a majority of votes is to try to divert attention from their policies, which would lose every time because the majority of citizens would not be so foolish as to vote against their interests. So, their campaigns inject non political issues like what you do in your bedroom, or what you do in your doctor's office, or where you go to church and which entity that you pray to, or what color your skin is, or what gender you are, playing against emotional stability at all costs to try to turn the herd in their direction.
It's policy, policy, policy, policy. Not girlboy, blackwhite, blah blah, blah blah, blah blah. Watch it. Don't be like the bull in the bullfight ring. There is a sword behind the red flag aimed at your heart. Ignore the red flag and gore the *** who is trying to fool you into the grave. The vote equates to your dangerous horns. Get horny and throw the bastards out.

    • Posted By: tired and old @ 06/09/2008 10:58:02 AM

YOUR DESCRIPTION OF REPUBLICANS SHOWS HOW GOP HILLARY REALLY IS.

  • Posted By: olderwiser @ 06/09/2008 10:30:07 AM

When you look at the dirt that the Republicans threw in 2004 at war heroes, how can they dare try to put a candidate up as a war hero and try to get votes on that non issue? It shows you just how desperate they are to stay in the most flawed presidential office that this country has ever had to endure. Their stink would knock a dog off of a gut wagon.

  • Posted By: olderwiser @ 06/09/2008 10:23:10 AM

I used a strong word and it was edited as ***. Just so you know what it is, it referred to that part of the body where the sphincter does its work. Gore the *** at your earliest chance in the voting booth.
