I truly wonder if there are enough really realy dirty words or prases worthy enough to discribe the earned legacy or George W. Bush. Most good republicans hate this man and then there are some that love him as a funny smile wrecks images of distasteful gulps of shame.

Doing nothing is the best thing a government can do for an economy. STAY OUT and the market will work itself out.

I'll admit it, I voted for the idiot, but I have come to believe he will go down in history as one of our worst presidents. He has convinced hisself he was doing the right thing by invading Iraq. He and his advisors created a fiasco that has taken 5 years to get under control. In the mean time Afgahnistan is in bad shape thanks to the neglect of the idiot. We had a chance to do nation building the right way there but by pulling our troups out and moving them to Iraq he will be living another mess for the next president. 7 more months and the nightmare will be over. Weither the winner is Obama or McCain, neither could be as bad as Bush.

SO CAREFULL WHAT YOU SAY, IT CAN ALWAYS GET WORST! IF WE CHOSE IT TO BE! LETS JUST SAY [VOTE], WE WILL NOT ALLOW THAT, THIS TIME AROUND. PLEASE.

Bush hasn't a clue. He has spent the last 7+ years gutting our country and couldn't care less about the American people. Why has this man not been impeached years ago?

What are you guys squabbling about?! George W. Bush is the best leader ever in U.S. history. He has led America into a glorious and honorable crusade against the infidels and enemies of the Reich. If it takes 10 million American lives to conquer the Middle East, so be it! The parents of fallen soldiers should be proud of their children's sacrifice. Not everyone has the opportunity to give their life for their fatherland. Bush is our Fuhrer and we owe him unconditional obedience, even 'til death!
A president's role is not to care for those weaklings who lost lives or possessions during Katrina. His role is to make the American people bow down before him and crown him ruler over the United Kingdom of America. His sacred task is to maintain law and order and to inspire pride of fatherland.
And when gas hits $20/gallon and people start walking to work they will thank President Bush on their knees for weaning them from their SUVs and pick-up trucks. A true American is willing to make sacrifices for Fuhrer and country.
And when your retirement savings are eaten up by inflation, your homes are foreclosed, your jobs shipped out to China, your kids grow old without a college degree, your grandchildren pick cotton for a living and your cousins are drafted and sent to war in Siberia, remember you still have the Stars and Stripes---pride and honor.
    Hail to the Chief!

Can the president do more about the economy?

No, I think he's done all the damage he can do; the economy - and the rest of us - don't need any more "help" from George Bush.

    January 21, 2009 can't come soon enough.

As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts content at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. H.L. Mencken

Corporate America with the blessing of both Republican/Democratic senators and congressmen have failed American. The politicans are more concern about their own interest that working together in solving our problems, Whereas Big business were busy 'rippig off' the American public. Why have our CEO not have the vision that we need to have more fuel efficient vehicles and spent more money in developing alternative fuels that paying themselves super renumeration.
It is nice to hear that both McCain and Obama giving us the assurance that they will work across party lines in trying toresolve our problems. Guess we have all heard these words before, lets hope who ever wins 'walk the talk'. May god we with us.

wish I could witness Judgment Day for president Bush. Boy is he going to burn! All those oil profits, all the souls lost to his senseless games of pride and stubborness. I hate waking up to a ruined America. I hate knowing that I did not elect this clown yet he is there because of a glitch in the system. I would hate to be in his shoes . God will certainly vomit him from his grace. Nothing except his true repentance and Gods grace would save him. I am certain he wont return his profits to the poor. This so-called tax stimulus checks is the biggest joke in the world. Those checks are being generated from his pocket change of his oil business. He is the biggest clown and most hypocrite human being on the face of this earth. His stupid grim and jokes aggravate me. I thank the Lord for having this guy out soon. He is what the Middle Ages would call tyrannical ruler. To all the people who voted for him think of him as we raped at the gas stations this summer.

Why should Bush be able to fix the economy? He couldn't even fix the ELECTIONS properly!

  • Posted By: kennsid @ 06/10/2008 12:23:47 PM

As you are saying, i don't believe there is a single (or multi layered) move that the goverment can make that will solve this mess we're in. Forget Bush, he watched it happen and did nothing. The problem will be inheritied by the next President.. This may seem naive, but the most effective thing that our next LEADER could do is begin to talk to, and educate the American public. WE need guidance. WE have the power to affect world economy - if we have an intelligent leader who can guide us there. Some of us know that if we stop drinking water out of those little plastic bottles (which are as much a petroleum product as our gas) we could reduce our need for foreign oil. If our Leader was reinforcing this fact...maybe Americans would begin to actually (better sit down for this one)..fill your own reuseable bottle. I'm in the Northeast...it's been hot. I'm still amazed, though, that at $4+ per gallon, one car out of every 500 i saw yesterday had it's windows down. Unbelievable as it may sound, we survived as a civilization before that invention of air-conditioning. Instead of a Leader who blows smoke up our butts by giving us each $600 and telling us everything going to be okay, if our next Pres would say "things are not good and there is no magic that's going to fix it in a month...but if we band together as AMERICANS and SACRIFICE a little (or a lot), we can turn this thing around and return to Greatness", we might have a fighting chance.

In my opinion, the President and his entourage are the cause of the recession, not the solution. He should have his "club" cut the nonsense and be thus not be so punitive, forcing submission on us so that we cannot take a stand, it is a catalyst being used by him that only diverts public attention from his many "faux pas" and focuses our attention and angers elsewhere in our lives other than on himself and his many lies and indiscretions for which we all pay dearly and heavily. We are heading ourselves into a male totalitarian domination, if you have not seen the latest news from the Vatican who I completely supported with heart and soul until just this past week....and it is only going to move us backward in the long term and get other nations angry at us, I fear we may be in the hands of the "evil Sith emperor", and we didn't know we were going down that road and didn't see it coming..........Thank you for allowing my opinion.....skd500

Why would he want to? Hated by most, if not almost all, but seen as such a hero, Jeb would be elected if in the race. Proves there are such things as morons on earth!

Why would Bush want to do anything about our economy, when, he's the reason this country is going down the toilet. Ever since 2000, when Bush supposedly, won the election, this country started going down-hill. And ever since then, this country has been going deeper and deeper in debt, because of his lying about the Iraq war. He lied to all of us and there are 35 indictments against him for lying. See what Bush has done for this country, never mind, the American people? It's a disgrace to have a person with his stature, run this great land we call America. Eight years of lying to his fellow man about everything. That's not kind of president we want in office. Why has this country let Bush get away with all the lies and ruining this country, defacing our constitution. This is uncalled for and Bush deserves to be impeached, once and for all. We are ashamed of how George Bush took it upon himself, with his oil buddy, Cheney, another lier and ruin this country. Why? Because Bush said so. And we wonder why our economy, our housing, this senseless war is drowning itself in greed. This country is going to hell and we, the American people have a chance to tell your congressman to impeach Bush and his administration, at once. He's guilty. And in November, vote for Obama, a Democrat, because John McCain, want to keep this senseless war going and keep killing our troops, because he thinks 9/11 was why we went to war, but that's not it. Why is Bush doing this? We want our country back to where it's suppose to be. Someone who doesn't lie like Bush and Cheney. I love America and we all know what Bush is doing is WRONG!

The forces at work here are much bigger than a president, senate, or house of representatives. There is a continual force which must be reversed before the economy can rebound. It is a legal system gone wild. Tax laws need to be limited by law to the understanding of a single man in a few weeks, perhaps 1000 pages. The penal system is an uncontrollable cost due to the constant criminalization of various activities, particularly "victimless" crimes. The increasing awards for professional malpractice increases premiums which come back to be paid for by the public using these services. If there is a common theme here, it is the silent killer of the freedom and economic growth of our people. The silent killer will not stop itself, as it is the legal profession plying their trade on our bloated system of laws. Unfortunately, only ethics can be used against the legal profession. Even if we find the single right law, the profession will find a way to usurp the intent.
