Respect to a mother and a wife. On the other hand, am asking myself: When a woman after being married to a famous man for such a long time and still has to tell us so little.....was the message of her husband really so great?

John mccain wants to exclude anyone with a pre-existing condition from recieving affordable healthcare. Sure they will be offered a plan but at such a high premium that they will not be able to purchase it. This is nothing more than a death sentance for millions of sick people in this ( as long as I have mine I dont care what happens to you) country. Stop sending all of our wealth out of this country and start taking care of the people who make this country great!!!

Good grief, you tell me your God sent forth the word of truth, to go out through out the world and propagate and teach the word of richness I offer.

Hmmm, seems the world is at the point of fulfilment, for there is barely room left for any more of us to stand upon the earth. The major and most other religions forbid the use on contraceptives and other devices which might infringe on the chance of conceiving in a natural way yet many nations already have mandated strict laws concerning the manner in which children shall be planned for as well as applying for the necessary permit.

The word of God remains today as it was when originally spoken. It is not subject to opinion or study or intercalation to benefit the speaker. No, those words are not known to man today for man has spoken in modifications of his God. Show me a speaker of known Godly words and I???ll listen to the industrialist.

I recently purchased a dog, hoping to go hunting for game birds much like my forefathers did, even as in the period of the Jesus walked upon the earth. That really wasn???t very long ago for if I had lived 28 times longer than I currently have, I too could possible claim having seen this man. In any event I stood on a hill top with shot gun in hand watching in awe as my dog taught me how to be a hunter all because of his instinctive birth rights. Humans have a few of these and if you don???t know what I???m talking about, then your part of the problem, just as all the preachers are.

Another point is that the media are owned by large corporations that tend to be very conservative.

SG: You question how independent CBS can be if they are owned by a conglomerate, or how independent NBC can be if they are owned by General Electric, a big defense operator.BETWEEN YOU AND ME IM VOTING FOR OBAMA! McCAIN IS GOING TO CONTINUE THE SAME OLE PARTY LINE! AT LEAST I HAVE HEARD OBAMA SAY HE BELIVES IN A SAVIOR, HAS FAITH IN GOD TO DO THE RIGHT THING!

I think Macel Falwell is full of crap, much like her late husband. To hate another is not a very Christian concept, or do you disagree? I for one am thankful Jerry is gone, I just wish he would of taken all the other preachers of intolerance with him. The world would be a better place.

It's a strange phenomenon. Get you a pulpit. Shout at a bunch of people and tell them that they are morally dirty and likely to burn in hell. Then, tell them that if they will fill your basket with some change, you'll pull them out of the fire. It pays millions. Presidents will try to get around you to get you to add them in your sermon next Sunday so that they can get elected. Then, if you say something stupid in public, they can be tarred with your stupidity and lose some votes. What a system. Both candidates got bit this time before the election. Maybe they will quit trying to get votes from the evangelists, now. Hope.

    RELIGION AND SOCIAL TRENDS:

Twenty-Eight Percent Believe Bible Is Actual Word of God
    http://www.gallup.com/nl/?22885,AlertSP,5/22/2006

There has been a gradual decline over the past 30 years in the
percentage of Americans who believe that the Bible is the actual word
of God. Roughly 3 out of 10 Americans continue to profess belief in a
literal Bible today, about 10 percentage points lower than was the
    case three decades ago.

THE TOP TEN SIGNS YOU ARE A FUNDAMENTALIST "CHRISTIAN"

  • Posted By: mnmanariesram @ 06/11/2008 8:42:53 PM

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed
by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the
    existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that
people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with
the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a
    Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities"
attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about
how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and
ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua"
    including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims
about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing
that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-
god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the
    sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes
in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years),
but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze
Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a
    few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the
exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those
in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of
Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant"
    and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics
have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on
the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need
    to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to
answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer
works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply
    the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do
about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call
    yourself a Christian.

I hope Pat Robertson and Benny Hinn other swindlers and con artists croak too!

Madmonq, I don't believe that he was a windbag, because then he might have floated up to heaven as he had promised that he would do some time back there, and loads of his contributors thought that he was telling the truth. No, it has to be lard. A lard bag. Found him on the floor, heavy as lead.

  • Posted By: mnmanariesram @ 06/11/2008 8:39:48 PM

Hooray for the death of Jerry Falwell! Con-Artist and swindler who, just like James Dobson, John Hagee and all the rest of the nutty krishtian fanatical whacko's spread the ultimate lie: that of "khristianity".

THE BIBLE IS A TOTAL MYTH AND LIE.

    ATHEISM AND EVOLUTION ARE TRUE.

Good riddance to you Jerry as well as James Kennedy and I hope Dobson croaks soon and joins you both!

After all, Atheism IS growing and krishtianity is dying! YEY!

The missus is able to be humble and apologize for her husband's "humanity." Those are honorable qualities. No doubt she was well practiced from years of marriage to a dull wind bag. They didn't really humanize him, only demonstrated he had a lot to apologize for.

To Pastor Terrence, I thank you for your obviously well informed and educated information. My concern is that with all of Gods power, he cannot and will not save mankind today from the earth burning up or from man blowing it up. That is not a God. If God is so almighty, why does he allow such injustice and men like Falwell to divide people using the bible, your best seller, I never had to buy a bible, it was always given to me. I appreciate its historical significance only because the judicial branch of God seems the same as the judicial branch of our government. Why is the church so wealthy and the world so poor and starving? Is this what we praise him for? Well, I my belief system allows for a stronger and wiser serving God and not the one who is absent. You are wrong about believing in men instead the earth you walk on, otherwise, God makes mistakes and continues to make mistakes. Are yousaying that all the evil we do is our own fault, but our divine actions are due to God only? What a crock! I do not believe in judgement from God because he seems to punish immediately mankind when we sin, just as our law enforcement does. That being said, it seems the God you believe in is more human than you think?

Fight the Theocracy....You hit the nail on the head!

  • Posted By: davechar1@msn.com @ 06/11/2008 2:54:26 PM

Sure, and many people still follow Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker despite proof that what they did was illegal, and immoral. It never ceases to amaze me that people will follow evil examples in the name of God (makes you wonder how God feels about it). But then this has been going on since the Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, buying of high church offices, witch burnings, the flat earth that everything else revolves around, evolution, to name a few. ,

  • Posted By: fightthetheocracy! @ 06/11/2008 2:38:06 PM

For all those who claim he didn't spew hate, allow me to remind you that he BLAMED 9/11 ON ANYONE WHO DIDN'T VOTE FOR BUSH!!! He could have said it was caused by any number of things. He could have said God allowed it because we don't take care of our environment, or do enough for the poor around the world, but instead he used it as an excuse to attack people who voted for a different candidate then he did. That is not loving, that is not showing concern for others, that is being petty and looking for an excuse to attack people just becuase they don't think like you. Now, how is that not hate?

There is also the matter of where this "revolation" came from. Did God come down and actually tell him these things? Because it seems awful convient that the only things that God had a problem with are the same things Falwell had a problem with. And of course nothing in the conservative camp was to blame in his mind. Again, makes it hard to take seriously that the blame wasn't more evenly distrubuted. This man served one political party. He could have choosen to take issue with any number of things either side was doing did but instead decided to take sides and only go after one. Again, why should we not look upon that with suspicion? Why should we not see someone like that as an opportunistic fraud siding with whoever will grant him the most leeway? I see little in this mans life to make me believe he was either sincere in his concern for others or that he cared about anything that didn't benefit him personally.

In response to the comment by washchadblip below, the Word of God states in Isaiah 40:22 "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:"

War is an armed conflict of opposing forces and some innocent people can and do get killed. You may call this murder. God's Word states that anyone who hates his brother is a murderer (I John 3:15). All sin is the same in God's eyes. Compare Hitler with Saddam and what was already happening to innocent people in Iraq. People were being murdered and tortured every day. Will the war end even if we remove all of our troops?

We live in a broken world, and Jesus is our only Hope and Salvation. We are all sinners and must repent of our sins. Christians are not perfect people, just forgiven by Grace.

Mr. Williams, you lose all credibility name calling. We can quote the Torah, the Koran, or even Dear Abbey, but that only gives credence to death mongering and misses life???s gift. You need to pull your head out of that book and look outside your door or even better, try looking outside your heart. You remind me of the evil religious men who burned what they thought was witchcraft when all they did was kill many innocent people that ultimately transformed into ghost where they were killed. You fear God because you have nothing else. No mind, no spirit, and definitely no life. You hide behind your bible and God because you cannot stand alone simply on your own strengths as a human being. War is wrong. It keeps us back in the caves of destruction and ignorance. After centuries of telling indigenous nations they were savages, where did it get you. These cultures have thrived as ???civilized??? people adopting and assimilating into what you call ???civilization??? only so you can keep your religion and stay in the depths of ignorance and savagery. You are the reason white people are not taken serious anymore and your bloodline is diminishing, so find that in your bible!

      • Posted By: Pastor Terrence @ 06/11/2008 2:14:28 PM

To Red Dirt Brother and others of the same mindset:

Why attack Falwell who has passed on??? (A man who helped countless poor, alcoholic men, young girls with crisis pregnancies, and genuinely cared for his critics and their families) Why be belligerent about the proven Word of God??? Why resort to arguments about morality, sinful men, and racial divides. (The Bible says that we all come from Adam and Noah, and that "God has made all nations from one blood" Acts 17). God is not concerned with what color of skin you have or whether you are male or female, but whether you have trusted His Word and have a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ!!! You cannot argue with God!! You are only trying to squirm your way out of being held accountable and Judged by His standards and attempting to justify living your life, your way. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father, but through me!" I did not say that, Jesus did!!! I did not make Truth narrow!!! God did! If you have a problem with it, take it up with Him!!! I hope you come to the knowledge of the truth before it is eternally too late!!! Thank you and may God's Holy Spirit speak to you through His Holy Word!

It's murder. And if you voted for Bush, you enabled that murder. You believe that grace saves you, but the Bible states that few will reach Heaven. You believe that knowing the magic words ("Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior.") will grant you immortality. So many know the magic words, but the Bible states that so few shall enter Heaven. It sounds like grace won't be the infinite saver of souls.
