I like Obama. I want him to be elected POTUS and govern competently. I will vote for him, even if it comes down to being strictly in lesser-of-two-evils mode. I think he has the intelligence and political instincts do do so. But he'd better start getting a clue about how be a better judge of character on who he hires and associates with, pronto. Message to Barack Obama: Anyone connected in any way to the Washington establishement in general, and the losing campaigns of Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, and John Kerry in particular, should be avoided like the plague. That goes in spades for that ubiquitous Democratic campaign strategist Bob Shrum, a man who never met a Democratic candidate whose campaign he couldn't manage to steer out of the jaws of victory straight to certain defeat and who continues to show up on talking head shows year after year like a bad penny, as if his opinion was actually worth paying attention to.
Finally, let me put my 2c in on who Obama's running mate should be: Jim Webb (D-Va)
