Texas A&M has developed a system that injectes hydrogen into the fuel system, mixing with the gas and air to increase gas mileage on any car or truck to almost double. It uses a smal canister filled with water to get the hydrogen. Haven't heard anything about this in the liberal media have you. If the oil companies get wind of it you can bet they will do thier best to shut it down or discredit it. One last thing if you didn't VOTE in the last election STOP complaining about the goverenment. It's just as much your fault as thiers.

What makes me sick is the fact that CHINA has started exploring for oil in the FLORIDA straits!! They made a deal with Cuba to get the oil from off the coast which is just over the international boundry of the US. BUT THEY ARE DRILLING AT A SLANT into the florida straits! Do you think China cares about having a spill so close to our shores? I doubt they would bat an eye.

We need to open up ANWR, start drilling off EVERY coast, and start drilling the the dakotas. We need to drill until we can match our own supply to our demand. Tree huggers and hippies have handcuffed us. It is their fault we are so dependent on OPEC's oil.

To the people that say "oh well the supply in ANWR isnt that much.... blah blah blah. You are only guessing. There is no way to know for sure how much oil is in the reserves until you start drilling.

It's easy to fix this problem.... most crude comes from where.......middle east right now.. who feeds the world? the USA so all we have to do is stop food supplies and basically tell them lower prices or eat your f&&king crude. Honestly we go overthere to help stabilize there government or build a government they don't have but the American society has to pay for it. Look at our economy we are slowly working on a possible depression yet these middle eastern countries are building islands and the worlds tallest building, you ask how, from our money. The ultimate problem is the goverment they we put in office, same as the war. The actual reason for a military from our fore fathers is to protect the homeland not to be the world police. Especially since NATO tends to run the US military. Anyways there are a lot of issues with this country but everyone wants to look away.. So be it. I'm just one person.

Stealing gas from the gas station is like stealing gas from the 7-11 store. The owners of those gas stations makes pennies per gallon. They are not the ones who make millions. They are not the ones who raise the gas price. My friend leases a Shell station and he barely makes enough money to support a wife and 5 kidsand he works 14 hours a day. The truth is the gas price hike is the work of the speculators. Here is what was posted on www.dispatchpolitics.com: "Gasoline should cost about $2.25 a gallon at the pump, and everything above that is "funny money" largely tacked on by speculation and manipulation in the energy markets, a consumer advocate told a Senate committee yesterday.

"The speculative bubble in energy commodities has cost households, on average, about $1,500 over the past two years in increased costs for gasoline and natural gas," testified Mark Cooper, director of research for the Consumer Federation of America. The cost to the U.S. economy has been more than a half-trillion dollars, he said. As retail gas prices reached a record high for the 26th time in 27 days, Cooper was among several experts who told the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation that speculators are helping push up prices........

So stop justifying stealing and stop blaming Bush. The last time I checked, the price of gas was close to 10 US dollars a gallon in England and France.

If we just boycott Exxon-Mobil that is buy your Gas from anyone other than the people that brought you The Valdez Oil Spill you would see Gas Prices Drop real fast.

Wow! I was going to present a few facts to refute the spin doctors rhetoric I see people spewing forth but ... the task is too enormous! Please, go get educated on current issues. Listen to experts in their fields, not career politicians. Politicians are experts at telling you what you want to hear or what they think will get them re-elected. Listen to geophysicists, economists, environmental scientists, etc. Study history.

I'll limit myself to 3 points.

    1) A.N.W.A.R. drilling has been blocked by concerned americans, scientists and environmentalists for over three decades now. (F.Y.I. that's 30+ yrs.) The federal govt.'s own estimates of reserves in ANWAR say it could be as little as a 30 day supply for the U.S. It could be more but it's most likely on the smaller side. Most of the oil we currently mine from Alaska is sold to China.

    2) Like Bill Mahr pointed out (paraphrased), If Col. Sanders was Pres. and the price of fried Chicken tripled wouldn't he be under extreme scrutiny and suspicion?

    3) There are a few tenants that are common to almost all spiritual disciplines(i.e., faiths) two of which are don't steal and don't kill. Why do you steal gasoline? Why do "we" invade Iraq and kill the humans there? (Did you know that "we" (the US) now control the Iraqi oil production?)

to steve rebel, TREE HUGGER, I drive my pickup truck to work and back home, thats it. I pay 30$ a week to drive that and nothing else, and we are living from paycheck to paycheck, how can I afford to upgrade my truck? get out of your tee house and get a check on life. Dont even get me on global warming!!!!!!!!!

We need to figure a wat to steal gas directly from the big boys, like exxon, Dp, not from the people or stations!!

    • Posted By: Non-following sheep @ 06/12/2008 10:32:15 PM

Just boycott BP and exxon exclusivly.... buy somewher else... then watch their "RECORD PROFITS"

  • Posted By: arcanum202 @ 06/12/2008 10:04:23 PM

And how bout we don't even need oil in the first place. If America, once scientific innovators of the world, wanted to, we could cripple the Middle East. We could start whole new industries right in this country, and not need one drop of oil.

You think Bush/Cheney has protected us from terrorism? How bout every time you fill up your tank, or turn on your heat or central air, or buy food, or go to work for dollars that are worth the same as a looney, you are under terrorist attack. Bush and Cheney didn't protect us, they just bait and switched us...One form of terrorism for another. Instead of bombing our buildings and killing our people, they are bombing our economy and destroying American lives financially. If you think otherwise, you are insane. Bush and Cheney don't give a darn about the American public...They don't care about your fam and friends fighting in a stupid war. They are out for themselves...period!

The truth is the gas price hike is the work of the speculators. Here is a quote from an article by Bob Dart, Cox News Service, on www.dispatchpolitics.com: "Gasoline should cost about $2.25 a gallon at the pump, and everything above that is "funny money" largely tacked on by speculation and manipulation in the energy markets, a consumer advocate told a Senate committee yesterday.

So stop justifying stealing gas and stop blaming Bush for everything that you're not happy about. The last time I checked, the price of gas was close to 10 US dollars a gallon in England and France. I don't like to pay $4 a gallon either but I am trying to change the way I drive, I plan my trip and conserve energy.

  • Posted By: csapdisme @ 06/12/2008 10:30:06 PM

It was less than 6 years ago when I could buy gas for $0.99 per gallon; the fact that it's over $4.00 per gallon is more than just simple inflation. It could be construed as Racketeering/Profiteering (which last I checked was against the laws of the USA) but at the very least is GREED and GOUGING of consumers by the OIL COMPANIES.
For my humble opinion, I think all should consider the following: I do not condone theft or violating the law. I had originally thought that it was high time for the people of the USA to have another "Tea party", but then thought about the environmental issue that would pose. I'm not a tree hugger, but I am sure that we can all agree it would not do any good to dump oil in the ocean.
Then I thought, "What would happen if EVERY man and woman in the USA, who makes less than $50k a year, stayed home for just 2 days? By "staying home" , I mean this: No going to work, No shopping (also no shopping online), no going to restaurants or movie theaters, no going anywhere for 2 whole days" ... This country and it's economy would grind to a screeching halt. Imagine what the CEO's and VP's would do when they found that their precious corporations were not making money. If they wanted it done they'd have to do it themselves! They wouldn't be able to fire anyone because they'd still have NO employees! Maybe then Corporate America, Congress, and the White House would call up their CEO buddies at the oil companies and put some PRESSURE on them to do something about the price of gas.
Either that, or as an ultimatum to the Big Businesses and Oil Company fat cats, Congress can raise the "Minimum Wage " to $ 25.00 per hour, which would put Minimum wage on the same rising track as gas prices. When companies have to pay a janitor a minimum of $25.00 per hour for working, you can bet that the CEO???s won???t be smiling.

Everyone know it is Bush and Cheney's fault. A weak dollar that requires more of them to buy the same amount of gas. An economy that has failed to adjust to the future consumption and competition for a limited resource from China and India...Protecting Saudis, who no longer need us (who sent Bush with his butt in hands back to America after pathetically begging for more production - I bet he won't be going over there holding hands with that prince no more soon...LOL).

You get two oil men in the White House, and they are looking out for only the top 1% and their families and rich lobbyist friends...The other 99% of us slugs don't matter. You can't blame Clinton on this one. Gas prices have only recently shot up, and that is because Bush knows he is done after this...He is going to need money to maintain his lifestyle, and Cheney (Darth Vader) is probably going to move he, his lesbian daughter and daughter and law, and their little baby, along with the other Cheney clan, plus plenty of shotguns and booty shaped targets, to Mars, to avoid being charged with crimes against humanity...LOL. People have got to really be stupid to think this isn't Bush's fault...I would take Nixon over this numbskull any day!

      You are so right!!!!!

    • Posted By: aztecman98 @ 06/12/2008 10:05:59 PM

nope. you're wrong. The dollar has been falling for quite awhile. You can blame that mess on Alan Greenspan and his screwed up FED policies in the 90's. The way to fix the dollar or at least get it in a positive mode is to raise interest rates and stop lowering them on a whim. If you bought too much house or were flipping. You deserve to go bankrupt.

  • Posted By: Non-following sheep @ 06/12/2008 9:57:32 PM

Stop driving???...Boycott all the gas stations???... NOT practical.... what would work is boycott the top two suppliers and watch the gas war (as us old timers remember) begin.... continue to boycott them untill the price hits $2

    • Posted By: Oldtickertape @ 06/12/2008 10:02:21 PM

And what would be a Practical way of doing that?

      • Posted By: Non-following sheep @ 06/12/2008 10:27:17 PM

For example: if everyone NATIONWIDE refused to by gas from BP stations.... what would they do??? hunt you down and FORCE you to buy????.... or drop their price to entice you to buy.... unfortunately people are weak, and would give in as soon as they saved a few pennies and shoot themselves in the foot

    • Posted By: aztecman98 @ 06/12/2008 10:15:23 PM

too bad that would never work. All gas stations get their gas from the same terminals. They don't have a separate pipeline for each company. They all go into the same pipe. The brands then add their chemical blend there. So, the gas will get used, just in a different distribution pattern.

I do have a job. I make over $18.00 per hour. But I still think gas prices are outrageous. If you're comfortable paying these prices, why don't you buy a station and give gas away for free to those less fortunate than you? LOL , I doubt you'll be doing that anytime soon.

        • Posted By: thedude337 @ 06/12/2008 9:48:32 PM

in 1998 gas cost about a dollar a gallon, in 1958 it was about a quarter. Today it is four dollars a gallon. Do the math if it don't hurt too much. When one of your smallest expenses become the biggest in such a small amount of time it hurts the household. You probably dont know anything about that. Your probably a trust fund baby that never worked for anything in you life.

  • Posted By: texasscorpion @ 06/12/2008 10:08:01 PM

Gas prices have gotten RIDICUOUSLY out of hand!!!!!!! It amazes me that the government says they can't do anything about it...yet, they control everything else. How can you say there is nothing you can do when these companies are making RECORD profits in the millions EVERY quarter! I see they don't mind robbing the low man on the toading pole, while allowing their friends and supports to continue robbing us!!!!!!!!!!!! When is enough enough...I am sure people are at the point of deciding whether their family should eat, or what they can eat, and whether or not they should spend the money so they can get back and forth to work!
