A New Way to Guzzle Gas

To even think Clinton left a mess for Bush Jr. to clean up is absurd. When Bush Jr. came in office in 2001 there was a 170+ million dollar surplus which he gave away to his corporate cronies. Now we got this farce of a war with 4000+ young Americans taking the brunt of the deaths and draining this economy. Bush has not done a damn thing for this country. He won't fix the gas,food and energy prices. He will leave us in a broken economy and he will still make us pay for his presidential libray portraying the innocent Iraqi's he has killed a maimed.

Everyone is aiming at the gas companies as we all should. I also place the blame on or goverment. What have they done. All I hear is what they think should be done. I feel that the blame should fall back on our goverment also as they sit there and the average person is stuggling and losing their homes and the crime rate goes up because of people just trying to survive. I think that we should take aim at out goverment as we are the gas companys they only do what our goverment alows them to do. Its all about power and control and not for the people that voted them there. I say take aim at the gas companies and our goverment. Also when is the media going to be for the people also. Maybe when it starts cutting into their profits. I say boycott them all.

The truth is prices will go up to support the demand and we need to own up to our responsibility in all of this.
The US Oil counts for a third of the worlds oil production. Scientist have proven that drilling in Alaska would only give us perhaps five years of oil production strength before we were right back to where we are now. We can't expect to drive cars that get 18 miles to gallon around and gas just never run out. I sit here right now currently stationed in Germany and let me tell you what I've learned. Right now they currently have a law that requires any car bought and sold in Germany must get at least 35 miles to the gallon. If they can have cars like that here why can't we implement the same laws back home.
As for the person who went on a preaching spell about Brush Sr doing so much for this Country and Clinton doing so much harm. I suggest you look up your history buddy.
We need to stop pointing the finger at everyone else and accept the responsibility of the problem because we're the ones to blame.

The reason truckers won't go on strike is because of the clause that is in there union contract. There is no strikes or lockouts. Truckers will get a very large fine right now for striking. And don't believe the eviromentalists statement. The reason why gas prices keep going up is because what do you think is funding the war people. Need i remind you who is in office right now? Whos family is in the oil business, could that be the same person that is in office. Open your eyes people this won't be getting any better any time soon either. So until you do what someone else recomended which is ride a bike or come up with another idea. Which obviously no one has right now.

During the 'so called' oil crisis of 1973-74, I was busy drilling oil in the old oil fields of Pennsylvania. You see, we never did really have a crisis, or shortage. The oil companies were pumping "old" oil from the pockets, and by law could only sell the crude for a limited amount per barrel. Congress changed the law to state that the oil barons could charge the "new" rate, ...ONLY from New Wells. We, and other wildcat drillers were employed to rape the forests in order to punch a new hole, diagonally 250 feet from each "old" hole. We would drill into the original "old" pocket, cap the well, and the HALIBURTON would come in behind us and move the original pumps from the old hole...to the new one, and restart the siphoning (from the same pocket as having been previously pumped. The old hole was sealed, and now the oil companies could charge the higher price for the oil. After a few months of this charade, I quit and later returned home to Ohio to operate a local gas station. Well, wouldn't you know...the station's parent company (1974) began calling me each day and telling me to drive around to other stations, check their prices, and then come back and raise mine to a penny or two below the others. For a short while I complied, but then one day on April 1974, the corporate d#%$! called to have me raise prices four times in that day. Upon the fourth directive, I turned off the pumps, shut down power to the station, tossed the cash into the safe hung my company jacket on the chair, LOCKED the doors and tossed the keys thru the mail slot. Having had enough of ripping off the public (at 74cents/gal), I called the DM, told him I quit, loaded up my motorcycle and headed off to Arizona. So, now...I challenge all station owners/operators to grow some cajones and close up shop until Washington and the Oil magnates come to their senses! JUST DO IT!

hahaha good for them!!! gas prices are rediculous! oh and janell... you have no idea what your talking about... go play in traffc! gas prices are high because all the "higher ups" are in a panic over new fuel. they trying to suck the economy dry before they can no longer take advantage of us with the price of petrol. ever heard of the gas price bubble?? educate yourself before you open your mouth. i agree with wildfire!!!

I love this oint the finger attitude. The finger pointing should be at the auto industry. When the U.S. did its police action for Kuwait in the 90's, this was the perfect time for R&D for smaller, stronger and fuel efficient engines......But NO!!!!!! The selfish hammerheads put all their faith into the SUV market.
