I can honestly say that I was not a Tim Russert fan especially in seeing how biased and sometimes unfair he was during the primaries however, I am saddened to hear of his death. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in PEACE!

I watched him on Sunday mornings while doing my ironing. It was such an obviously biased show I needed some laughs.
Re: His father & help. He didn't do any more that millions of us do with aged parents. Maybe its an oddity with Dems but most of us do it.
You shouldn't have told this story, unless Big Russ is too far gone to read or hear about it. I thouht I heard he has been placed in Assisted Living now. Like I had to place my mom at age 98.

As a conservative I often felt that Tim was biased but I also know his bias comes from a genuine belief in what he felt was right. It was no secret that he worked for Mario Cuomo before he went into the news business. I wish the left would take a more honest approach to presenting their ideas as their own instead of fooling themselves into thinking they are unbiased. We are all biased and thats ok.
Tim I may not have always have agreed with you but you will be missed as a human being I greatly admired and as an inspiration to us all in how you lived your life. Your book was a gift to the world and how sad I am that the world lost one of its greatest Fathers so close to Fathers day. Rest in Peace. My guess is Tim is looking down and smiling not at the world but at his family that which so obviously mattered the most to him.

Sad he died so young, but let's be sure to understand that this man lost his objectivity over this election. Those of us who might have admired him at one time, grew steadily tired of his bias towards OBama and it was obvious that he knew he was there too. I think in the end, it killed him. Somewhere in his gut, he knew it, and I would think that the crazy hours and hostility of the campaign was too much for him to process..

I am sorry for his families' loss, but please, can we stop deifying the guy? He was a LIB. Go find his interviews with Hillary Clinton. Listen to all the advice that he's throw out there, over the years. It' ALWAYS advice for the DEMOCRATS, on "How to win back power". He was ALWAYS a Liberal Hack. valadezaj...I most definitely am not an Obama supporter, but I am a human being and it is just unconscionable that you could even wish ill will on Obama, Ted Kennedy, Tim Russert, or ANY OTHER HUMAN BEING! That type of behavior is simply unacceptable. By all accounts, Tim Russert was a decent, kind, considerate and highly respected individual who deserves much better than you gave him.

May God Bless Mr. Russert's soul. I wish he had done more to unearth the atrocities going on today.

Are you tired of spending your hard earned money on torture?

Yes, you are spending your money to torture people. Your tax dollars, and mine, go to fund the shenanigans in Gitmo and elsewhere.

How does that make you feel? Is it easier to just deny the whole thing, like Bush himself did for so long? Or are you brave enough to face the widespread moral atrocities we are committing that are not even making us safer? To the contrary, our torture has seriously damaged our reputation and prestige, and it has been used as a helpful recruiting tool by the very terrorists it is designed to hurt.

Immoral. Dumb. That about sums up how our government is spending our money on torture.

PS Torture is not even a necessary or effective means to get information out of people. Just look at our disgusting Republican friend Jack Abramoff who readily is squealing like a pig to investigators about his Republican cohorts in crime. Our government wisely determined as early as the Civil War and then WWII that it is not wise to torture your enemies. Seems like this is a lesson ignored by our brilliant Republicans today, including Bush and his roundtable of top officials who routinely authorized torture down to specific techniques.

If I were a Republican, I'd be irate at this. And a good number of them are. If you are a Republican, where is your outrage? Or is all this just fine, ya know, just "liberal" (ooooohh) blathering. Stupid liberals. Saying that makes some people feel very good about themselves while the rest of us suffer from the real stupidity.

TIM MENTIONED HOW HILLARY CLINTON PROMISED NEW YORKERS HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF NEW JOBS IN THE BUFFALO AREA IF SHE GOT ELECTED ( SENATOR ).

THEN HE WENT ON TO SAY: THAT AFTER HILLARY CLINTON; BECAME, SENATOR; THE NEW YORK AREA ACTUALLY LOST THIRTY THOUSAND ADDITIONAL JOBS.

HILLARY THE WITCH THEN BLAMED THE BROKEN PROMISE ON THE FACT THAT AL GORE LOST THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

TIM IN THAT MOMENT SHOWED THE WICKED WITCH AS SHE REALLY WAS.
