I wrote this poem a few years ago and I would like to give it to you.

    THINK CHRIST

THINK CHRIST, THINK OF THE PRICE
    WHAT A WONDERFUL PRIZE
    OUR BOSS IS OUR CROSS
LOOK AT THE BONUS, 'TIS FOR ALL OF US
    WE'RE SAVED FROM DUST'
    CHRIST IS SPLENDID
FOR US HE BLED, DIED, WAS BURIED
NOW HE'S RISEN, REASON - FOR -LIVING
    THINK HEAVEN, THINK PARADISE
    THERE YOU'LL FIND A FRIEND
    'TIS NOT THE END "AMEN"

Why does every act of human decency have to be denigrated by a reference to an invisibile sky monster?

I admire your courage, your efforts, your humility and your giving heart. Very few people ever see past the dirty clothes, bruised face or the stale beer breath of a homeless person. Few too many remember that these people once had families, maybe a home or car, maybe even a well-paying job. On any given day, in any given city, you are almost sure to find a former business owner, CEO, or military person living in a doorway or cardboard box.

I too am an author who has been touched by the terrible predicament of people living on our city streets. My own brother suffered from mental illness and couldn't keep a job or budget his money. He lost everything and landed on the streets of Edmonton...where he was murdered in 2006. He was only 28 years old.

I commend you, Ms. Steel, for your caring heart, for giving what you can and for doing more than most people would do. I wish we had Yo! Angel! here in Edmonton. I'd be very interested to discuss this with you, to learn more about what you do and how you do it. I am so inspired by this article and I wish you the very best in every success.

Good Job Mrs Steel, you're doing what most people only think about doing and so you make a difference. I don't know if Christ has shown Himself to you as yet, but be patient He will come. He will always come and see those who have a pure heart. When Christ came to see me He came with a purpose, at first I was afraid. He came to get me like lion going after its prey, for a brief moment He allowed me to see his face then He commanded my spirit and my spirit left my body. Christ held my hands and I replied, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus, then he disappeared. His spirit remained with me for two weeks and I felt like I was living in paradise. Believe me when I tell you, If you have ever seen a man that you didn't like because of his looks even so is Jesus Christ. I didn't realize I had false pride until Christ look through me. In my childhood days I always keep company with the poor and simple when others pass them by but christ searched me and found some false pride, now I understand much more and I'm much wiser but it dosn't make me perfect. I can clearly tell you that the reason that we cannot look into the face of Christ is our false pride, when you see Christ, even the poor will think for a moment that I am better than this man, Its the reason His own people mocked Him and didn't believe in Him while He walked the earth.

Hope, Faith and Charity but the greatest of these is Charity. You're doing a wonderful thing, its the Journey we all have to take to meet Jesus Christ, hold on to what you have you will not be disappointed. When I was 38 years old Christ came and visited me. He's a simple man and there is no false pride in him. Believe it or not; If you live on top of the Empire State Building to meet Christ you will have to come down to the basement. When you see Christ you'll realize that looks dosn't matters but what is within. I tell you the truth, every man in this world have false pride and if there is a man who thinks he dosn't, just wait until you look in the face of Christ. You'll feel it when HE looks inside of you. Nevertheless we all have come short of the glory of GOD. I like what you're doing take it with you to the grave until then each day before you leave home read Plasm 92.

Many blessings to you for your labor of love, Ms. Steel! Thank you for sharing about your ministry.

Some years back in Daytona Beach I joined with a group that cooked for and served the homeless. The city later denied the right of people to bring food to the park, but many people who served, at times, felt that they had met angels unaware. I love the name, "Yo, angel" and I'm sure that Ms. Steel has learned to be a more compassionate person because of reaching out to others. She has used her personal pain to lift others up.

I always try to think that the people on the streets are somebody's sons or daughters each with their own story of pain. What if they were your son or daughter? Try looking into the eyes of the downtrodden; you may be surprised with what you see there.
Many of the homeless, addicted to drugs, are trying to cover the pain of innocence being stolen from them. Some will make the choice to do the hard work of recovery and others won't, but at least Ms. Steel can rest assured she has done her part in helping what the Bible calls "the least among us."

What may be needed most in our society today (and for helping the homeless situation) is philosophy! Philosophy's called the food of thought, or the bread of life. Philosophy???s the creator of great historical thought or ideals, and civilized movements. Phlosophy???s the creator of historical civilizations, and the bread of life which man can not live with-out. Therefore, if we're not to be viewed as alone (homeless) in the Universe, then niether should be our philosophy. Greater ideals produce greater productivity, and understanding toward our fellow man!
