McCain Tax Cuts Would Bloat Deficit Or Take Huge Spending Curbs
By Laura Meckler
Sen. John McCain is proposing tax cuts that would either cause the federal deficit to explode or would require unprecedented spending cuts equal to one-third of federal spending on domestic programs.
Once thought of as a deficit hawk, the near-certain Republican presidential nominee is now putting more stress on the traditional Republican orthodoxy of tax cuts. Altogether, he proposes more than $650 billion in tax cuts a year, much of it benefiting corporations and upper-income families. That includes the cost of extending tax cuts implemented under President Bush that he voted against twice.
Aiming to Avoid the Dole-drums
McCain needs to learn from the mistakes of another honored war hero who ran for the White House and lost.

WillNotVote, I just love it when you set yourself up to be schooled. You give a web address for the Obama's page on the Senate.gov website. Each Senator sets up their own pages there. You have directed the reader to Obama's page where he prints, for the world to see, his voting record on every bill that comes before the Senate. Here is that address:
http://obama.senate.gov/votes/index.cfm?start=1
You sent the reader to this page because it shows that Obama did not vote on many of the recent bills, and you want to make it look like Obama is asleep on the job. It must be mentioned, however, that Clinton, McCain and Obama have all missed many votes during the campaign season. However, if the reader will take the trouble to page through Obama's voting record, they will see that Obama has been present for all of the important votes. Obama has been present and voted on 62 of the 154 bills before Congress in the current session beginning January 2008. Clinton has voted on 56 of these 154 bills. And McCain, who had already won the primary and didn't have to start campaigning against Obama until three weeks ago, McCain voted on only 33 of 154 bills.
As I have exposed in one of my earlier blogs, McCain missed more than half of his votes, even before he started running for President. In the First Session of the 110th Congress (2007), McCain missed a whopping 56% of his votes. McCain doesn't want you to know this, so when you go to his Senate web page, there is no tab to click to see his voting record (http://mccain.senate.gov). An American who wants to know how McCain votes has to look it up on the Library of Congress website (not user friendly) or go to the Washington Post website:
http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/m000303/votes/
While you are there, pay special attention to McCain's votes on March 13 and 14, 2008. On those days we know he was present, because he voted on 22 bills. But he refused to vote on 22 other bills. He failed to vote on bills concerning border security, alien removal and English in the workplace, even though he has set himself up as the candidate who wants immigration reform favorable to Hispanics. He also failed to vote on the bills regarding efficient energy production, even though he claims to be in favor of this. He must not be very much in favor of efficient energy and immigration reform since her refused to vote even though he was present. As for Obama and Clinton, they were both present those days, and they both voted on all 44 bills.
McCain knows that public perception is all that matters, so he gives a news conference and says he supports certain issues, even though he refuses to vote in favor of them. He knows that most Americans never take the time to look up his voting record, and he makes sure that his Senate web page doesn't include this information.
I find it ironic that your blogger name is "WillNotVote." Did you get that name from John McCain? -

One Poker says he wants Colin Powell to be McCain's VP. Joke's on you, OnePoke, because General Powell is AGAINST THE WAR IN IRAQ. Powell resigned as Secretary of State over his disgust at the horrible things Bush was doing. Powell would NEVER stand up with McCain. In fact, it looks like General Powell is supporting Obama:
General Colin Powell, Republican and former Secretary of State, says he is not ruling out voting for Barack Obama. In a speech he gave last week in Vancouver, Washington, General Powell said that while he has served in the administrations of two Republican Presidents, his support for Republican nominee John McCain "is not a foregone conclusion." He also noted that although both he and Barack Obama are black, he would not cast a vote for the Senator based on race alone. "I will vote for the individual who I think brings the best set of tools to the problems of 21st-century America and the 21st-century world, regardless of anything else."
A 35 year veteran of the US Army, General Powell also noted that he would not necessarily support McCain because of his military service.
Don't forget that Rupert Murdoch, the Republican ultra right wing owner of Fox News has publicly come out in support of Barack Obama. Mr. Murdoch has predicted that Senator Obama will win the general election, because he says that McCain is "weak on the economy" and that with McCain as President "the recession would deepen into a depression."
Even dyed in the wool Republicans are voting for Obama. Because he is the right choice. Because he "brings the best set of tools for the problems of 21st-century America."
McCain's mind is still in the cold war era. But the old tactics don't apply anymore, because the world has changed. We need a leader who can cope with those changes, and help us to compete in the globalized economy.

Readers, be informed, and beware! Sam Bodman, US Energy Secretary, is a Bush appointed Yes-man. Bodman states that insufficient production is making oil prices soar. Bush wants you to think that the OPEC countries are responsible for high oil prices, but the truth is, OPEC has been significantly increasing production over the past several months. Where is all that oil going? It's being stockpiled by US investment banks, who are creating a fake shortage to drive up the price. Congress has already started to investigate this criminal practice. Bush, who has deregulated the banking industry, tries to blame it on OPEC. By now you should be familiar with Bush's MO: he says you should be very afraid of Muslims.
Who you should really be afraid of are investment bankers at Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers. Check this out:
Michael Masters of Master Capital Management (a global investment manager) testified before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Government Affairs a couple of weeks ago. Quotes from his testimony:
"Today, Index Speculators are pouring billions of dollars into the commodities futures markets, speculating that commodity prices will increase. In the popular press the explanation given for rising oil prices is the increased demand from China. According to the DOE, China's demand for petroleum has increased in the last five years from 1.88 billion barrels to 2.8 billion barrels, an increase of 920 billion barrels. Over the same five year period, Index Speculators' demand for petroleum futures has increased by 848 million barrels. THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FROM INDEX SPECULATORS IS ALMOST EQUAL TO THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FROM CHINA. Index Speculators have now stockpiled, via the futures market, the equivalent of 1.1 billion barrels of petroleum, effectively adding EIGHT TIMES as much oil to their own stockpile as the US Government has added to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve over the last five years."
"The Senate has asked the question "Are Institutional Investors contributing to food and energy price inflation?" And my unequivocal answer is "YES." In this testimony I will explain that investment banks are one of, if not the primary, factors affecting commodities prices today. Clearly, there are many factors that contribute to price determination in the commodities markets; I am here to expose a fast-growing yet virtually unnoticed factor, and one that presents a problem that can be expediently corrected through legislative policy action..."
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission is ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. They're supposed to be protecting us from these kinds of abuses, but Bush allowed loopholes in the CFTC regulations that you can drive a truck through. An oil truck, that is.

JERUSALEM ??? The board of a nonprofit organization on which Sen. Barack Obama served as a paid director alongside a confessed domestic terrorist granted funding to a controversial Arab group that mourns the establishment of Israel as a "catastrophe" and supports intense immigration reform, including providing drivers licenses and education to illegal aliens.
The co-founder of the Arab group in question, Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi, also has held a fundraiser for Obama. Khalidi is a harsh critic of Israel, has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and reportedly has worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group.
In 2001, the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based nonprofit that describes itself as a group helping the disadvantaged, provided a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN, for which Khalidi's wife, Mona, serves as president. The Fund provided a second grant to the AAAN for $35,000 in 2002.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!
Todays Polling:
"The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows Barack Obama leading in states with 200 Electoral College votes while John McCain leads in states with 174 votes. When leaners are included, Obama leads 284-240. On Friday, June 20, Colorado moved from Leans Democratic to Toss-Up but Ohio did the reverse, moving from Toss-Up to Leans Democratic. "
Rasmussen will also give a state-by-state count.
So much for the GOP's "electoral map" argument....LMAO!!!!

KB-I love your optimism. Truth is, Hussein should have a MUCH larger bounce. He is unelectable. The McCain ticket will carry a minimum of 35 states. Check your history. Dukakis had ~20% lead at this time. All analysts felt Hussein would have a double digit lead going in. Didn't happen.
The Sinclair deal IS FAR FROM OVER. The limo driver is coming forward. There is other collaborating evidence that will be released soon. It IS NOT GOING AWAY. Have you seen the news conference??? Sinclair came off with a level of credibility. The arrest is quite strange. Real and accurate info is hard to find. Rev. Manning from ALTA Ministries is also involved. Keep your ears and eyes open. Gonna get better and better.

Different time, different election, different voters, different candidates. History is no longer an indicator here, mi amigo. I do agree that he should be farther ahead, though. Gotta work on that one.
Still pushing the "Sinclair" thing, huh? C'mon Holy, you're an intelligent individual....I don't care how much "credibility" you want to attach to this thing, or how many names you want to "drop" to define it's significance...this thing is going nowhere. This guy is sinking himself, and everyone who becomes part of his cause is either, swiftly discredited, or even , disbarred. LOL!!!!!
Rev. Manning?!?! Ohhhhh, stop the presses!!! Now we have the missing link, the Rosetta Stone!!! LOL!!!!For some reason, I don't think Obama is worried. Actually, it only attaches the religious right-wing nutjobs to the parties that are bank-rolling Sinclair's cause. My eyes and ears have been open since this thing was first mentioned. I'm just getting so bored. It hasn't affected anything. Wake me when something happens.-

More info from SinclairPC/arrest.......looks like PUMA may get involved.......
At the Press Club, Avi also ran into Will Bower, a sometimes-Huffington Post blogger who founded, Party Unity, My Ass, a group for die-hard Clinton supporters that are now backing McCain, and was invited by the McCain campaign last weekend to meet with the presumptive Republican nominee, and called Sinclair's story "worth exploring."
"I don't think he should be written off without consideration," he said when asked about Sinclair. I think it's worth exploring..

Holy we are noin the same side but the sinclair story is a non starter. The guy has less credibility than Obama. I mean his lawyer showed up to the press conference in a kilt for God's sakes. The dis-barred Lawyer and Sinclair are running a con game they probably are smoking crack together.
When we get behind sillyness like this it only hurts our own credibility. Forget the looney toons our new battle cry should be "Drill Here Drill Now." this is where we can defeat the left. We have a candidate who finally sees the light on this issue lets run with it.

Nothing will defeat Obama in 2008.
Since McCain has decided not to hit him on the Jeremiah Wright issue - why he sat in a church spewing anti-American hate drivel for over 20 years while taking the spewer for his family's spiritual mentor - Obama will get away with political murder, as he did with Clinton, who also played softly-softly on this cruicial issue.
Besides, McCain is proving stupid enough to play conservative rather than midlle-of-the-road, in a year when conservatism is utterly unpopular.
So we may take it that it will be Obama in November 2008.
All that will defeat him is his own dishonesty and the foolishness of his incredibly naive, feckless supporters.
Hillary was given a blessing in disguise when Obama rejected her (as it seems) for his Vice-presidential slot.
Now she can quietly sit the Obama disaster out and come back sweetly in 2012 to ask the disillusioned voters: "OK, babies. Had your fun and games with the slick Wonder Boy? Now how about giving Tough Auntie a try?" -

McCain v. McCain: a master list of his flip-flops
by: Steve Perry
Thu May 08, 2008 at 9:13:29 AM
Steve Benen at Carpetbagger Report has made a fresh batch of updates to his running list of John McCain's "evolving" positions on a long litany of issues.
Excerpt:
* McCain pledged in February 2008 that he would not, under any circumstances, raise taxes. Specifically, McCain was asked if he is a "'read my lips' candidate, no new taxes, no matter what?" referring to George H.W. Bush's 1988 pledge. "No new taxes," McCain responded. Two weeks later, McCain said, "I'm not making a 'read my lips' statement, in that I will not raise taxes."
* McCain is both for and against a "rogue state rollback" as a focus of his foreign policy vision.
* McCain considered and did not consider joining John Kerry's Democratic ticket in 2004.
* In 1998, he championed raising cigarette taxes to fund programs to cut underage smoking, insisting that it would prevent illnesses and provide resources for public health programs. Now, McCain opposes a $0.61-per-pack tax increase, won't commit to supporting a regulation bill he's co-sponsoring, and has hired Philip Morris' former lobbyist as his senior campaign adviser.

The War Secrets Sen. John McCain Hides
Former POW Fights Public Access to POW/MIA Files
April 25, 2000
By Sydney Schanberg
PART 1 OF 2
NEW YORK (APBnews.com) -- The voters who were drawn to John S. McCain in his run for the Republican presidential nomination this year often cited, as the core of his appeal, his openness and blunt candor and willingness to admit past lapses and release documents that other senators often hold back. These qualities also seemed to endear McCain to the campaign press corps, many of whom wrote about how refreshing it was to travel on the McCain campaign bus, "The Straight Talk Express," and observe a maverick speaking his mind rather than a traditional candidate given to obfuscation and spin.
But there was one subject that was off-limits, a subject the Arizona senator almost never brings up and has never been open about -- his long-time opposition to releasing documents and information about American prisoners of war in Vietnam and the missing in action who have still not been accounted for. Since McCain himself, a downed Navy pilot, was a prisoner in Hanoi for 5 1/2 years, his staunch resistance to laying open the POW/MIA records has baffled colleagues and others who have followed his career. Critics say his anti-disclosure campaign, in close cooperation with the Pentagon and the intelligence community, has been successful. Literally thousands of documents that would otherwise have been declassified long ago have been legislated into secrecy.

TOKYO (AFP) - Former US presidential contender Mike Huckabee urged his fellow Republicans on Wednesday not to denigrate Democrat Barack Obama, saying they should celebrate the historic moment of a black candidate.
"Republicans will make a fundamental if not fatal mistake if they seek to win the election by demonising Barack Obama," Huckabee told a news conference on a visit to Tokyo.
The former Arkansas governor said that, having grown up in the segregated South, he never thought he would see an African-American win the nomination of a major party for the US presidency.
"I do not want to have anyone misrepresent or miss the opportunity to celebrate what I think is a landmark achievement, not just for Barack Obama, but for the United States of America," he said.
The country was able "to get to a point where we did not see his colour but we truly saw his charisma, his message and what he brought to the campaign trail," Huckabee said.
Huckabee, who won the first nomination contest in Iowa on the back of support from evangelical Christians, said he hoped Republican John McCain would defeat Obama but urged his party to highlight policy differences and not race.
Huckabee said the troubled US economy would be the top campaign issue and doubted that Obama's race would come into play.
"When people are really hurting -- and they are right now -- they're not looking at a person's race," he said.
Huckabee declined comment on whether he wanted the vice presidential nomination, other than to say that McCain would be more likely to pick him if he chose to focus on winning over Southern and conservative voters.
"You can't accept an invitation to the prom until the football captain asks you. So I'm not going to go out and buy the outfit just yet," Huckabee said. -

McCain calls for offshore drilling
In the race for the White House, Republican candidate John McCain supports ending the ban on offshore oil exploration and Democratic candidate Barack Obama opposes it.
Speaking in Houston on Tuesday, McCain called for lifting the federal moratorium on offshore exploration and production as part of a plan help curb U.S. dependence on foreign oil. The Arizona senator also has proposed temporarily lifting a tax on gasoline over the summer to give consumer a break from soaring fuel prices.
My Comment:
Good for you Sen. McGame! America is finally taking some serious steps toward solving our fuel/gas problems! THANK YOU SIR for having the courage to standup to all the environmentalists political BS. Do what ya gotta do to get the ball rollin'! I'm sure it's not gonna solve all our problems regarding high fuel cost, but at least you're now making some command decisions! And that's what a real war hero does, BEAUTIFUL!!!

To be sure the signers of the Declaration of Independence represented the enfranchised classes of Englishmen, but they also knew the difference between a republic and a kingdom and they understood the significance of a government based on a written consititution. Writing under a pseudonym in the Boston Gazette in 1774, John Adams both asserted the English origins of the new republic and its aspiration to something different when he famously quoted the English republican theorist James Harrington's call for an "Empire Of Laws And Not Of Men," strategically substituting the word "government" for Harrington's "empire." We have in the last seven years seen a sustained and often successful effort to replace that government of laws with something closer to the royal prerogative against which Harrington wrote in 1656.
In this respect the Obama candidacy Is ... Not About An Individual ..., but about reasserting the distinction of a nation, membership in which is not hereditary but elective. To think of the unlikeliness of a similarly African-British, African-French, or African-German leader is on one level to be reminded of our peculiar national history and the role of slavery within it. But on another level it is in one fell-swoop to reassert the American exception the Bush administration has most assiduously suppressed -- that in America, citizenship -- in a technical sense -- is not by genetic inheritance or collective memory, but by subscription. "We the people" sign our names to a document that attempts to spell out and bind "a more perfect union." For us, this is the difference between being a subject and a citizen, and I suspect this reassertion is what remains truly revolutionary about us.
I suspect it is the underlying prospect of a deeply willed renewal of our national subscription to the government of laws and not of men that has made the Obama candidacy so exhilarating both here and in Europe. But this exhilaration comes also because we hang now, in the interim, by a very finely spun thread. What is at stake in the coming election could not be more clearly drawn than it was in the Supreme Court's five to four affirmation of habeas corpus last week. Five to four! The next President will almost certainly choose two justices during his tenure. John McCain has already indicated that he will choose justices who resemble Roberts, Alito, Scalia, and Thomas -- that is, justices who will reverse Roe v. Wade; but such justices will also fail to uphold the real American exception: the citizens' subscription to checks and balances and to the written-out rule of law. Justice Stevens is 88 years old. May he live forever. But as we rejoice over the prospect that America will soon once again be a nation of hope in which the rule of law is re-affirmed, we need also to remember that we stand today but one vote away from the end of the line. -

In this, John McCain showed himself during his 1992 Senate campaign to be not an independent maverick, but a dyed-in-the-wool Republican woman-hater, fully in line with his cohorts. Netroots author Cliff Schecter got the goods in his upcoming book, "The Real McCain", and Raw Story has the sneak preview:
Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you ***." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.
Can the nation really stand, after 8 years of Yosemite Bush, the reign of Colonel Tigh? Can we survive a guy so sensitive to criticism that he can't even handle a little teasing from the woman who's seen his back hair without viciously unloading on her in front of reporters and senior staff? How's he going to handle negotiations with foreign leaders? Ugh......this is totally unacceptabel and appalling...if the rest of us would not ever think of EVER doing this to ANYBODY, how can somebody like this be allowed to lead our country which is full of men/women of many races, religions, ethniciites...better to be dull than a misogynist, chauvinistic pig like mcbush!!!! -

Minnesota Man Claims He Took Drugs & Had Sex with Barack Obama in 1999
Submitted by Julie on February 19, 2008 - 2:32pm. Elections Elections 2008 News Politics U.S. Politics
Barack Obama now faces a new challenge - one that is sure to be much more scandalous than anything he's seen so far. If the allegations are to be believed, it's also a scandal that his campaign has tried to cover up. A Minnesota man has come forth, claiming that he took cocaine in 1999 with Obama, the then-Illinois legislator, and participated in homosexual acts with him.
Larry Sinclair, the man making the claims, said his story was ignored by the news media. Still not willing to let this one slip quietly under the rug, Sinclair made a YouTube video in which he made his case. It's had over half a million views already, but the story has still been largely ignored by the news media.
Sinclair's next step was to file a suit in Minnesota District Court, in which he alleges threats and intimidation by the Democratic presidential candidate's staff.
Still out to prove that he is telling the truth, Sinclair said he is willing to submit to a polygraph test. A website (WhiteHouse.com) has come forth offering him $10,000 for the right to record the polygraph test, and another $100,000 if he passes it.
Sinclair lives in Duluth, Minnesota, and in his filing, charges that his civil rights have been violated by Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. Obama, David Axelrod of AKP Message & Media in Chicago, and the Democratic National Committee have been named as defendants in the case.
Sinclair, who describes himself as gay, claims they met in an upscale Chicago lounge. They left in Sinclair's limo, where the drug use and sex allegedly took place for the first time. Sinclair says that Obama smoked crack cocaine, and that he snorted powder cocaine provided by Obama.
Sinclair, 46, says that he no longer uses drugs. He claims to be physically disabled, but says that he was not physically impaired in 1999 when they met.
Regarding the claims, Sinclair said:
"My motivation for making this public is my desire for a presidential candidate to be honest. I didn't want the sex thing to come out. But I think it is important for the candidate to be honest about his drug use as late as 1999."
This is the closest thing to an aritcle I could find about Larry SInclair
I doubt there is any truth to this whatsoever as most people that knew Obama were surpirsed he had used drugs at all when he mentioned drug use in his book.
Someone from the Obama camp should get to work disproving this accusation right away because it is picking up steam.
Politicians are as we all know are Guilty until proven innocent.
Mccain 08 but not this way I hope-

One Poker, you know this is all false. Yes, Sinclair is making these allegations and brought the frivolous lawsuit, but GUESS WHAT? Sinclair is a CONVICTED FELON who has spent most of the past 26 years in jail, and his lawyer helping him with the lawsuit has been DISBARRED. Sinclair's rap sheet is longer than your arm, and includes extortion, grand theft auto, illegal firearms, and perjury. Nothing the man says is reliable.
Both Sinclair and his lawyer (Sibley) are trying to raise cash by creating a media circus with their slander. And YOU are part of it. You know this is all a lie, but you post it anyway. For shame!
The reason the major networks won't cover this story is that they know it is not true, and that they could be sued for slander for talking about it. Except of course, Fox News, who are paying Sinclair to come forward with these lies. Fox doesn't care about slander suits. They are faced with them all the time, and have a special legal team to deal with it, and a budget line to pay out damages. Sinclair may go back to jail for this. But that's okay, he's used to jail. And now he will have a fat bank account, and maybe even a reality show when he gets free.
Disgusting.-

**Breaking** Fred Hobbs Apologizes
Fred Hobbs, the embattled member of the Tennessee Democratic Executive Committee, who last week wondered aloud to the City Paper as to whether or not Sen. Obama had ties to terrorism, has seen the error of his ways and written a letter to his colleagues on the committee:
I am writing to apologize for my recent remarks about Senator Barack Obama. My statements to various Nashville media were wrong and offensive. I apologize if my remarks in any way hurt any of our great Democratic candidates, including Senator Obama. Also, I apologize if my comments embarrassed our state or my friends at the Tennessee Democratic Party.
I was not as well prepared as I should have been when speaking with reporters, and I should have taken more time to research Senator Obama's positions. My comments did reflect questions I had after what I had seen reported on... "Fox News" ..., but I should have taken some time to check the accuracy of what I saw on television before speaking publicly. My statement that Senator Obama "may be terrorist-connected" was incorrect, and I apologize for making it.
As a lifelong Democrat, I believe in the values and ideals of the Democratic Party. I am honored to represent the 13th Senatorial District, and I look forward to working with Senator Obama, each of you, and every Democrat in the 13th District to elect Democrats this November.
Extend the PAIN with your vote for McCain

He???s got some bad connections, and he may be terrorist connected for all I can tell. It sounds kind of like he may be.???
Hobbs was giving an interview to the paper about fellow Tennessee Congressman and Democratic superdelegate Lincoln Davis, who has not yet declared his support for Obama.
Reacting to Hobbs, Davis??? Chief of Staff Beecher Frasier says he does not know for sure if Obama is terrorist connected, but he assumes he is not.???

Senator McCain: You've pushed back against the assertion that you want to stay in Iraq for the next hundred years. You've said that as long as we aren't taking casualties, a presence like that in Korea or Germany is fine with you. You've said the surge is working, that casualties are down, that we are winning the war in Iraq...
In the end, it sounds to me like you are saying that if we win the war in Iraq, if we aren't taking casualties... we stay... (after all, according to you, bringing the troops home isn't important...)
But...
If we get our asses handed to us in Iraq - if we suffer a lot of casualties - we must win the war, so... we stay...
You haven't shared with the American people what conditions must prevail for American troops to come home. Can you set forth the conditions you would require to pull all combat and combat support troops out of Iraq?"

Being a president of the US is the most stressful and demanding job in the world. It is a simple fact that someone in McCain's health condition at 72 years old wouldn't have the stamina to be an effective president. Thats the exact reason why Senator Dole lost the election.

McCain's problem is that he does not represent the interests of the American people, but the lobbyists who have staffed and funded his campaign.
-
Posted By: onepoker @ 06/17/2008 10:05:39 AM
Yawn- Lobbyists are people too. they aren't evil they are paid advocates for constituent beliefs. Liberals have lobbyists that want to keep Roe vs Wade Businesses have lobbyists that want to protect their interests, I know its the hip thing to bash lobbyists but they are nothing more than advocates for particular ideas and the best part of lobbyists is the politicians know exactly where the lobbyists are comming from because they know who pays the lobbyists check.

Straight from National Press Club events calendar. I can't stop laughing. America will soon find out why, the BarackStar is so skinny, and is/was a chain smoker....hahahaha
Larry Sinclair on Barack Obama
There will be a Pre-Registration for Press beginning at 1:00pm. All press must show media credentials and must obtain an event press pass to enter the event.
Washington, D.C. - Despite death threats and an organized campaign to prevent him from speaking publicly, Larry Sinclair -- on June 18, 2008, at 2:00 PM (Sign in begins at 1:00 PM) in the Holeman Lounge of the National Press Club, 529 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20045, will for the first time reveal the corroborating evidence for his claim that on November 6 + 7, 1999, Larry: (i) met Obama at a gay bar where Barrack Obama arranged for the purchase of federal Schedule II drugs, (ii) which Larry and Obama thereafter ingested and (iii) then engaged in hi-risk, homosexual activities.
Larry's story burst on to the scene on January 18, 2008, when Larry released a short video containing these allegations on YouTube.com. That video has had close to a million views yet the mainstream media has completely ignored Larry's serious allegations. Thereafter, a clearly orchestrated campaign to discredit Larry began on the internet which forced Larry to resort to federal court to protect his reputation.
At the press conference, Larry will (i) reveal the corroborating evidence for his allegations regarding Obama, (ii) address the time-line of the response of the Obama campaign to his allegations and the murder of Donald Young, the openly gay choir director of Trinity United Church of Christ, Obama's now-former church and (iii) the significance of the refusal of U.S. District Court Judge Henry H. Kennedy, Jr. to allow Larry's case to proceed.
Whatcha think of this, all ya'll obamamohammeds??? NOT GOING AWAY..........

Larry Sinclair is a convicted felon who spent most of the last 26 years in jail. That is why the main stream media is ignoring him. He is a criminal who is trying to raise cash by bringing false allegations against Obama. Only Holy Roller thinks this is a good thing.
-
Posted By: onepoker @ 06/18/2008 10:42:26 AM
Most of Obamas friends are felons. Well I guess Ayers was never convicted but he admits to felon like activities.
-
Posted By: Nins @ 06/18/2008 11:55:05 PM
1) Ayers is not Obama's friend. They know each other because they sat on the board of a charity at the same time.
2) Ayers is not a felon. He was a member of the Weathermen (some of whom were imprisioned), but he himself was found guilty of nothing but bad judgement. Just like John McCain and the Keating S&L scandal. Found guilty of bad judgement.
3) In America it is legal to be part of any radical organization you want. Go ahead, be a Nazi. Dress like a skin head. Join the KKK. It only becomes illegal when you, personally (not other members of the group)
actually commit a crime. If your nutcase friends lynch a black man but you yourself did not take part in it, they go to jail, you remain free.-
Posted By: onepoker @ 06/19/2008 7:02:26 PM
Ayers took part in the bombings but was aquited on a technicality.
Keating never blew up anyone if you talk to any of his former employees they would even tell you what a generous employer he was. I'm not saying he was innocent im just saying that I can see why Mccain would work with him he was a very prominent Businessman in the Phoenix area that was adored by his employee's he raised money for Mccain early in Mccains career. Later when pressure was applied to Lincoln savings n loan He called out to Mccain for help. MCCain rushed to the aid of his friend and then when he discovered that some of what Keating had done was illegal he withdrew his support immediately and devoted a good portion of his career to removing influences like Keating from the system. He made a mistake and learned from it.-
Posted By: Nins @ 06/20/2008 12:28:15 AM
Keating's scams required 4 billion dollars of tax payer funds to bail out his flim flam S&L corporation. And Keating was McCain's personal good friend. Keating and McCain went on several vacations together. Ayers and Obama hardly know each other, and Ayers was found NOT GUILTY. Keating is STILL in jail.
The two situations are not the same. The McCain/Keating scandal was real. THE OBAMA/AYERS THING WAS MADE UP by Operation Chaos, just like the other crap you are selling, about Larry Sinclair, your FELON friend who was arrested today for extortion and slander.-
Posted By: onepoker @ 06/20/2008 6:52:06 PM
Sinclair isn't my friend and I don't push his bs except as a joke.
When Mccain and Charles Keating were friends Charles keating was considered an upstanding citizen and a very well respected business man. When mr. Keating's Savings and loan fell apart largely do to tax law changes. Mccains only action was to look into the investigation for his friend. The Commitee that investigated the Keating 5 found nothing illegal or unethical in what MCCain did there only reprimand was that MCCain should of used better judgement.
By the Way Charles Keatings sentence was later overturned and rather than face a new trial the Government offered the Elderly Mr. Keating a plea agreement that would allow his sentence to be reduced to Time served. Mr Keating chose the plea.
Mother Terresa even wrote a letter on Keatings behalf to the Judge.

Very compelling argument, based entirely on ignorance and bias - of course. For a moment there I thought you were a reasonable person worthy of having a discussion - but you've proven very quickly to be no different than the rest of the childish right wing mudslingers. All you do is distract from a real debate - because you are under no illusions that McCain looses if everybody is fully informed as to what his true feelings and policies are(or lack of them) You who are victims of propaganda(and seem to like it) in fact have no idea what left or right wing politics, liberal, conservative ACTUALLY means, what would you know as to whose hero is whose? The republican party no longer stands for conservatism in it's real sense. The Democratic party is actually slightly conservative. But you are so influenced by the likes of Bill O'Reilly and G W Bush, that a centrist is now viewed by many of you to be far left! Problem with your logic, is that the rest of the world tends to interact with each other and discuss issues reasonably, and not get their point across by so skewing the picture so most people give up. That's how the Republican party has been so successful - turn people away from voting by convincing them there's no point. It no longer works, as America has woken up and is beginning to see what the rest of the world sees in America - and don't like it at all. McCain is part of that and has contributed to it - especially now he's sold himself out. Obama is seen as the solution by a huge proportion of people. So, sad, negative people: you are no longer listened to. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, despite the recession that's about to hit, and despite the bigoted, ignorant and vicious smearing that you contribute to.

Wow you can read a lot into one sentence. No wonder you love Obama All he has to say is change and you can envision everything you always wanted.
Your personal attacks are unwarranted I live conservatism everyday. I understand the destruction of liberalism and that is why I fight it. I think liberalism offers a crutch that causes its users to atrophy. I believe in the greatness of man. On these blogs I have seen idiots who happen to be liberal bash Jon Mccain for being a traitor call Bob Dole nothing more than a wounded man. It takes Bob Dole more effort to put his shirt on in the morning than most of us spend all day. After he got back from world war II he didn't lie around feeling sorry for himself he became one of the most respected and powerful senators in Washington. Bob Dole is more of a man than most of us will ever meet none the less be. So when I say the left has no heros it is because they trash mine. Its not an empty statement I see them wearing their che guevera shirts, They worshiped Hanoi Jane in the 70's. You call our men in uniform criminals. You call our president a criminal, You even lash out at the most successful people in our society out of Jealousy. Liberalism is the religion of hate mongering, godless, self centered sheep who can't appreciate the gifts given to them but must instead always strive to tear down that which provides them their liberty.-

By Mike Stark
Several weeks ago, I was clicking through John McCain's presidential campaign website. In the "Events" section I found a listing for a June 13 Townhall Meeting in Pemberton, New Jersey; I decided to attend.
McCain did not pick me out of the crowd to ask a question on live TV, but I was able to speak with him as the event wound down.
This is how it went:
Right after the speech, I knew McCain would work the rope line. Since I was in the front row, it only took me about three steps to get there.
I spoke loudly:
"Senator McCain - I noticed you aren't wearing your flag lapel-pin. May I give you mine?"
McCain: "Yes, sir, you can" (what else was he going to say? - he really wasn't wearing a flag pin.)
now I had him front and center...
"Senator, I spent four years in the Marines"
McCain: "Thank you for your service."
"Oh, no sir, thank you for yours. I have a feeling this is as close as I will ever come to pinning a medal on you." (said as I'm fastening the lapel pin) "Senator - you know our motto is Semper Fidelis - always faithful?"
McCain: "Oh yes, I do"
"Well have you always been faithful to Cindy McCain?"
Deer-in-the-mother-fuching-headlights.
McCain: "Oh no... that's not what I'm going to talk about."
"Have you been faithful to your wife? You won't answer? C'mon - how 'bout a little of that straight talk?"
(crowd beginning to get angry - hissing)
McCain: "Young man, I will tell you that I have a son serving in Iraq in the Marines."
"Yes - I know. I know a lot about you. Have you cheated on Cindy McCain? Why won't you answer?"
McCain turned away.
All of the aforementioned was caught on film and microphone by the networks. As far as I know, it has not been released and probably won't be.

If you think that merely being wounded in a war makes you a hero, then you have to believe that getting killed in a war makes you a bigger hero. Nevertheless, this administration has prevented the press from filming the dead as they come back home in a flag draped coffin. Why would they deny us the privilege of welcoming our heroes home on camera as they are unloaded from the plane?
-
Posted By: cinesimon @ 06/16/2008 8:09:28 PM
There can only be the one reason: to hide the truth from the public: war isn't a video game, nor any form of entertainment. People die. Along with hiding the coffins from the public, I find it shameful that the US hasn't even tried to figure out how many Iraqis died. It's as if they simply don't count in the scheme of things. I find the entire subject sickening, and ethically not the strategy of a civilized government.
-
Posted By: onepoker @ 06/16/2008 9:32:54 PM
Out of respect for our soldiers they ask that the coffins not be photographed. As for the Iraqi dead the US learned in Vietnam that enemy head counts don't help your cause.

The real reason the coffins aren't shown is the administration is afraid some dumb airman will be photographed not properly respecting the coffins and soldiers with in them and it will make the evening news. There is precedent for this fear. We don't want to subject the families of a fallen soldier to images of a careless soldier making a disrespectful mistake. Its that simple. no big conspiracy to hide the dead just basic human decency.

I believe that if he doesn't win the presidency McCain has a good lawsuit against the American public for age discrimination.

What a horrible moment you describe. How shameful to question a man like that! I suppose nothing is off limits. You might try and get near Obama and aks him about Larry Sinclair and Donald Young. Google those names for some tantalizing details of what is to come.

Many will be sorry if we fail to elect this genuine hero who though old and not telgenic, still has the spirit of the hero and the fighter in him whose only ambition it seems is to do what is best for our nation. I am speaking about John S. McCain and urge all those sitting on the fence not to repeat the mistakes of the past and elect style over substance.
With Obama we simply do not know what we are getting. What we have learned from his freinds and associates over the years (Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, members of the PLO, radical Marxists) offers a glimpse at the danger he portends while singing his sweet song.-

So you use 3 people from his past and what somebody in Hamas once said about him, that his enemies have pushed and pushed. Compelling argument! You REALLY win that round! I also urge those on the fence to not contribute to a repetition of mistakes of the recent past, and vote into power another person who is willfully ignorant of other people's cultures, and uses that ignorance as a reason why America is so superior to the rest of the world. He also uses the ignorance of the American people, firing untrue propaganda at them to keep them scared. He supports the type of person such as his pastor who thinks Hitler was sent by god to kill the the Jewish people in order that they be herded to Israel. He has no understanding of the middle east, about the same as Bush. He supports the current administration who've abused the constitution and the Bill Of Rights, who spy on American citizens and have falsely imprisoned thousands of people. They kidnap people from sovereign countries throughout Europe, and the CIA has been and still is, under investigation in numerous countries for just that. To me, the biggest crime the current administration, which includes McCain, is that they DO NOT value the lives of anybody but Americans. Iraqi, Afghani lives, have NO value to them, unless of course the life can he put to use to further their interests. They cover up war crimes committed by US soldiers and soldiers of fortune paid by the likes of Blackwater. There are presidential orders ruling a blanket ban on discussing the at least 17 cases against American corporations accused of stealing from Iraq. They laugh off the billions of dollars overcharged by the corporations - they're STEALING money from America, and McCain supports them. This is only the tip of the iceberg of an administration, that is McCain were voted in, would remain in power and wonder, as would I, how the American voter can be so gullible. John McCain used to be a valued leader with principles and integrity. He has blatantly sold his values out in order to gain power, and got to this point because the Republican party saw him as the one person who may win them the election. Problem is, his own words, not those of others, have already condemned him. Hid turn around and loss of independent thinking is the only signal people need that he is one of the most obvious puppets ever put up for president. One issue he actually has stuck to: he would make moves to ban abortion. Anybody who's not in either a corporation that benefits from the war policies, right wing political institution or right wing church, if they vote for McCain, are essentially voting against there own interests - the people he supports and who support him are stealing from you, lying to you, and many of them are laughing at you for your support.

Go Mccain Go! Just to clarify a few points Mccain is anything but a friend to the corporations and even though George Bush has made some mistakes he is not evil either. Most Americans are aware of this so I wont waste anymore of your time. If you think our soldiers are criminals your an idiot the vast majority of them are good and decent individuals working hard to free Iraq from Al Qaida and some Militia's that have developed a foothold thanks to military blunders that General Petreaus is working to cor
