Being a president of the US is the most stressful and demanding job in the world. I have nothing against McCain, but its a simple fact that someone in McCain's health condition at 72 years old wouldn't have the energy to be an effective president. There is a reason afterall why we most retire from their main job at 65.

It was humanly understandable that Dole would have picked McCain who is so similar. But if McCain wants to win, he must avoid Dole's mistakes. He should pick a person who is is in some ways his very opposite -- a person like Condoleeza Rice, or -- dare I say it -- a Romney.

    • Posted By: onepoker @ 06/16/2008 8:15:05 PM

Condi's out too much Bush baggage but man in a perfect world she would be awsome.

    • Posted By: Cazador1972 @ 06/14/2008 9:34:23 PM

Hehehe, as a Democrat I'd pay McCain to include Rice on his ticket! If I was a Republican though, I'd be looking for ways to distance myself from this administration, because McCain is effectively and justifiably (since he's voted 88% in lockstep with Bush) too associated with the Bush administration.
Romney appeals to a lot of people but the Republican base is wary of him. I can't understand how he was popular to some people to begin with; I find him haughty and self-righteous.

The best I can see for McCain is Fred Thompson, who is a conservative darling but even he looked tired and unmotivated on the campaign trail. It would be too easy to dub a McCain/Thompson the "Grumpy Old Men" ticket.

      Cheers!

I'm sure you have all missed me. Been enjoying the Fla. sun with my family. Just to make sure all ya'll are up to date...................

I've been called every nasty name, the obamamohammeds, can get away with, on this blog. I try and tell ya'll, if HolyRoller, tells it, it is TRUE. Guess who is speaking at the NATIONAL PRESS CLUB on June 18th, 1:00-5:00????? None other than the BarackStar's limo ridin', rock smokin', man lovin' partner....
..........MR. LARRY SINCLAIR himself. Under risk of bodily harm, Sinclair's claims and proofs(or other) will be aired for the entire nation to hear. Hussein better do more than set up a website to handle his baggage, cause it's about to start raining trash.. He is completely unelectable.

Check out the info. 1,230,000 hits a climbing fast..........http://larrysinclair0926.wordpress.com/

    Good to be back home.

Pia-what do you think about, good ol' Larry, speaking at the NPC???? I have been trying to tell all of ya"ll not to be naive'. This is not going away. At least check his blog. It''s juicy.

        Vacation was really fun. Thanks.

GM H. How are Tiff and the kids? All well, I hope.

Larry? Do you men a Sinclair? I know nothing about him speaking at the NCP. I thought he came out and admitted to fabricating the encounter with O story?

BTW, I do agree on somethings with you.

          • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 06/16/2008 9:44:55 AM

Hey Pia-Everyone is great. Thanks for asking.

Nope. Larry S. has never wavered on his claims. He has one of the nation's most prominent attny.s (Montgomery Sibley...D.C. Madam), and has several pending lawsuits. The lie detector test was rigged and the driver is coming forward with colaberating testimony. There is also murder execution style involved. Sinclair has a security detail for protection(he is receiving death threats) and he will be speaking at the National Press Club on Wed. Should be very funny.

Another very serious situation, for the BarackStar is the Rezko conviction. Good buddy Tony, is looking at 30 yrs. Federal time(every day served) or give up info for a plea bargain. Sentencing is in Sept. Rezko had the option to stay free, until then. He chose to go directly to prison. Most info indicates he is in fear, for his life.

Getting nastier by the day. And don't believe the obamamohammed claim of no "Michelle "whitey" tape either. It is most certainly real. Larry Johnson(former C.I.A. operative) assures it is in the hands of a Republican 527 group, who is keeping it as an Ace in the Hole. Info says it is shocking.

Don't be naive. Vote honor. Vote McCain.

Missed you? Get over yourself--holypants. You are a first-class racist. Vacation, huh? Is that the one I've read about that you pedophiles from all over the world take together, comparing notes about which state and country has the best little boys to pick from? Lawyers, judges, bankers, politicians, HOLYROLLERS...from ALL over the world, I understand.
Are your "kids" spawned from your sisters, or are they the little boys and girls you've bought on your other "VACATIONS?
*** Larry S. You are insane if you think this guy can hurt Obama with anything. But you're insane anyway, aren't you, whitey? You continue talking about some *** who've had limited or no connection with Obama, yet you believe people will ignore the company McCraker keeps. Oh, that's right--he's white. TYPICAL WHITE POLITICIAN.
What's so "shocking" about calling you whiteys whitey--whitey? The future First Lady called them as she saw them. I think she meant white animals, though.
And by the way, holywater. What nasty names HAVE you been called? I doubt that you have been called EVERY NASTY NAME. Just in case some were left out...you are a racist white pedophile, a trailer park piece of white trash child molester, a lying sack of $hit, a bigot...does that round off the list? MORON.

RAVEN-you have hurt my feelings. Well at least, almost. BTW...are you really Michelle(Cruella DeVille w/a tan). Sure remind me of her. Are you as excited about Sinclair speaking at the National Press Club, as the rest of the obamamohammeds??? I'll bet your quivering with anticipation.

A tad bit of advice though. Keep sending those bad words over the blog, and people might think your a Racist. We need to stick with real issues. Like....Is Hussein Obama a Shiite or Sunni....or...Is Michelle really a man in drag....or....when was the last time the BarackStar smoked some ICE....You know. Something with substance.

Glad you noticed my absence. Wise old saying says..."it makes the heart grow fonder." Only one more day till the Press Club. Talk w/you soon.

It's sad to see the lack of any respectful, intelligent debate on these blogs. The vast majority of those opposing Obama are incredibly bigoted and use personality and obvious lies masquerading as fact, believing they'll make a difference to the election with their volume and hate talk. The reality is, people, that style of negativity has lost it's weight, and isn't worthy of intelligent response. You actually need to show respect to other peoples opinions and debate them without abusing them or who they support - or you've already lost the debate. Thank god America is seeing the light once again. It's a shame that the volume and hatred of the few make it a very unattractive prospect for the majority of reasonable, open minded people to even want to participate in these discussions. If they do, they face a barrage of abuse - what's the point? We all know: shut down discussion of policy as Barack Obama actually has something of value to say. Most people know this, including his opposition, hence such horrible, uncivilized, unintelligent, bigoted smearing with no basis in fact is directed toward him. Those of you who use such tactics: shame on you - you do not stand for American values. Be a real American and stand up for what your country says it stands for. Hey - even read your bill of rights and the constitution - even the bible - you fly in the face of all three writs.

    • Posted By: HistoryProf97 @ 06/16/2008 4:55:01 PM

Cinesimon, yes, you're right that there's a lack of respectful, intelligent debates on these blogs. However, it's not just those opposing Obama who use negative remarks. Those who oppose McCain do the same thing. I'm all for a respectable debate by open-minded people, but please don't criticize just one side when both do it constantly.

      • Posted By: cinesimon @ 06/16/2008 5:21:28 PM

Indeed you are correct - there is definitely silliness from both sides. But the vitriol against Obama is by far the more extreme. The disease that is bigotry is there for all to see, and it's sickening. The way I see it, is that people from both sides attack each other on a personal, and ultimately pointless, level. But one side is manufacturing lies about Obama to the extreme, and most of it is based in bigotry and willful ignorance. If you listed the untrue smearing against both candidates, the list against Obama would be far greater. It is sad that on these blogs I mostly see debate based on nothing but slinging mud, rather than discussing the policy of the candidates.

You are a bit generous in your praise of Bob Dole. Dole was not a war hero but an unfortunate victim of war. Likewise, Dole was not a concensus builder in the Senate and was often reviled by his own party as a "hatchetman" who would launch ad hominem attacks on anyone who dared to disagree with him. McCain is like Dole in more ways than one....

    • Posted By: cinesimon @ 06/16/2008 5:06:31 PM

I agree: Dole is an extremely bitter, probably clinically depressed, man. His email to Scott McClellan was extraordinary - but then you get that when a criminal flips and exposes his bosses. They consider him a traitor to their 'cause', which civilized society know to be organized crime. Dole's reaction can only serve as confirmation that McClellan hit the nail on the head(and of course confirms his character as a snide, twisted nationalist without conscience). One issue older people can never win back is the fact that younger generations are quicker on their feet, more perceptive, and more open to the ideas being expressed around them. McCain and Dole are classic examples of an older generation trying to win a loosing battle, and not backing down regardless of the consequences. He has forgotten what this is all about: making a better world for our children. And younger generations are aware that new ideas are desperately needed, before it's too late for America to turn itself around.

In McCain's medicals records that were just released, seems McCain's injuries are consistent with those you receive by not holding your arm in while being ejected from your airplane.

Oh, yes, what a big surprise, the Republicans, like bullies in a schoolyard, are prepared once again to use every scummy, lowlife, gutter tactic they can to blast Obama because the untwisted truth will get them nowhere. Why should they change now? These Gerry Springer Guest tactics have succeeded in the "election" of the criminally moronic Dubya, why shouldn't they work again? The twisting of the truth has already started, next we'll witness the out and out "swift boat" lie mongering....some "organization" will spew a hateful, dirty, bereft of morals lie, and then follow the belief that by shouting it loud enough (so as to drown out the real truth) and repeating it often enough (if enough right wing nut heads say it a million times it somehow will make it "true"), enough American right wing nut lemmings will just follow MC LAME and company right off the cliff the Bush administration has this country dangling from.

I'm sure all the lie-mongering, dirty playing right wing nut bullies are pulling the wings off flies in anticipation of another "fair" "election" process. A process that has become so sullied and corrupt by their ilk that it makes a mockery of this country. Wouldn't want them to take the high road....heck they can't even see it from underneath those rocks they slither under. The said part is, I don't even think McLAME is such a bad guy, he should NOT be president, but he not a bad guy. Unfortunately, his association with the Republican election machine will sully his soul and leave an indelible stain that now amount of flag-waving will overcome.

  • Posted By: Shlabubu @ 06/16/2008 3:34:00 PM

Oh, did I think the Republicans weren't going to play their dirty, nasty, lie-mongering, campaign? Why wouldn't they? It's all they know and if it worked getting the criminally moronic Dubya "elected", I'm sure they figure it'll work again. It's pathetic really, when you have no substance, and nothing worth touting on your side, the lowest of the low turn to gutter tactics, figuring once again that if they shout their lies loud enough and repeat them often enough, there are still enough American lemmings who will believe them. We are doomed of course, if they succeed, but unfortunately, it won't be a surprise if they do.

Bush crippled America, and now these morons want us to vote to keep America MC LAME.

One of the most entertaining side-shows in the three-ring circus that is the American Presidential election is that of Larry Sinclair. In case you???ve not been listening to right-wing talk radio, I'd forgive you for not knowing who Mr. Sinclair is - he's the guy who claims that claims he took cocaine and had gay sex with Barack Obama and is demanding that the Presidential candidate address his allegations.

Normally the right-wing, fundamentalist Christian talk-radio circuit would be the very last forum that might give a voice to an openly gay drug user. These are the same people who blame "the gays" for 9/11, the New Orleans flood and the falling dollar: This is especially significant when you consider that Larry is a sort of stereotypical gay male: He acts and dresses camp and he speaks with a vaguely comical lisp in the way that only fictional gay villians allegedly speak - in short he's the sort of person that right wing radio would find utterly objectionable, so why are the wingnuts so keen to give him the benefit of the doubt

Larry claims that a few years back he went 'cruising' in a limmo around the Senator's home-town of Illinois, and just happened to have a casual hook up with a man who would later become a Senator and later-still become a Democratic Presidential candidate. If true, these allegations would hand the 'wingers a weapon that could politcally destroy Senator Obama - after all the only thing that American conservatives hate more than a drug user is a gay drug user???

Unfortunately, Larry's claims are flimsy and preposterous. His court case against Obama was immediately dismissed for for it???s frivolity and lack of evidence. When Whitehouse.org, an America news-blog offered to give Larry the chance to take a lie-detector test, he failed it twice. And since his torrent of allegations began he's not actually presented a shred of evidence to back up his outrageous claims. Nevertheless, American right-wingers are noted for their tendancy to belive preposterous things for which no evidence exists. A few of them have grown rather fond of Larry's claims and cannot get enough of hearing him dish the dirt on Obama,

Both Bob Dole and John McCain served our nation well in the military, but it is not Bob Dole's path that will affect McCain: it is George Bush, and that other chicken hawk, Dick Cheney, who will affect McCain. With trillions wasted on a war that no one can explain; Bush and Cheney appointing the head of an Arabian horse association to CEO of Homeland Security's FEMA; for an energy policy based on kissing the posterior of the Saudis, Bush/Cheney are beyond unpopular - they are now officially radioactive. THIS is the Republican legacy that McCain has to contend with...

Hmmm...what an odd article. Sounds like Newsweek is trying to plant a little a little propoganda seed, to cast a little shadow over McCain, lumping him with Dole. This article has all the earmarks of political campaigning for Mr. Obama. It really doesn't bother me a lot as to who wins (since they're essentally the same when it comes to how the government will be run) but I am always dismayed to see the 'giants' of journalism try to sneek their propoganda into their publications, as if it was a news item.
