Readers, be informed, and beware! Sam Bodman, US Energy Secretary, is a Bush appointed Yes-man. Bodman states that insufficient production is making oil prices soar. Bush wants you to think that the OPEC countries are responsible for high oil prices, but the truth is, OPEC has been significantly increasing production over the past several months. Where is all that oil going? It's being stockpiled by US investment banks, who are creating a fake shortage to drive up the price. Congress has already started to investigate this criminal practice. Bush, who has deregulated the banking industry, tries to blame it on OPEC. By now you should be familiar with Bush's MO: he says you should be very afraid of Muslims.

Who you should really be afraid of are investment bankers at Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers. Check this out:

Michael Masters of Master Capital Management (a global investment manager) testified before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Government Affairs a couple of weeks ago. Quotes from his testimony:

"Today, Index Speculators are pouring billions of dollars into the commodities futures markets, speculating that commodity prices will increase. In the popular press the explanation given for rising oil prices is the increased demand from China. According to the DOE, China's demand for petroleum has increased in the last five years from 1.88 billion barrels to 2.8 billion barrels, an increase of 920 billion barrels. Over the same five year period, Index Speculators' demand for petroleum futures has increased by 848 million barrels. THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FROM INDEX SPECULATORS IS ALMOST EQUAL TO THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FROM CHINA. Index Speculators have now stockpiled, via the futures market, the equivalent of 1.1 billion barrels of petroleum, effectively adding EIGHT TIMES as much oil to their own stockpile as the US Government has added to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve over the last five years."

"The Senate has asked the question "Are Institutional Investors contributing to food and energy price inflation?" And my unequivocal answer is "YES." In this testimony I will explain that investment banks are one of, if not the primary, factors affecting commodities prices today. Clearly, there are many factors that contribute to price determination in the commodities markets; I am here to expose a fast-growing yet virtually unnoticed factor, and one that presents a problem that can be expediently corrected through legislative policy action..."

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission is ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. They're supposed to be protecting us from these kinds of abuses, but Bush allowed loopholes in the CFTC regulations that you can drive a truck through. An oil truck, that is.

America has ALREADY voted for change! They were going show Bush in 2006! And we sure got CHANGE!

    Before Democrats controlled Congress:

    1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high.

    2) Regular unleaded gasoline was $2.19 a gallon.

    3) Unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

    1) Consumer confidence plummet.

    2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $4.00 a gallon.

    3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase).

    4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses).

    5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars; 1% of American homes are now in foreclosure.

    6) Oil was 63 dollars a barrel the day before the newest congress convened. It closed last Friday at 126 dollars a barrel. That is doubled for those with fuzzy math.

    7) Economic Growth for the 4th quarter of 2006 in GDP was 3.5 percent.

    8)1st Quarter 2008 0.6 percent.

Remember it's Congress that makes laws, not the President. The President has to work with what is handed to the Administration.

So, let me get this straight. A year and a half of repubs and dems not agreeing on anything versus two terms with this wack ass president means you blame it on the people who JUST TOOK OVER? Forreal? Did you stop to think that all of the key elements had all ready been put into place? As dems try to do something about our problems (like reeling in speculators), Republicans are highly opposed to anything that might show who's to blame, or anything that might oust corruption, or anything that benefits us domestically.

      8years VS. 1 1/2 years....Who's to blame for what?

Why won't republicans agree to go after speculators?....they are buying in credit! Isn't this the same crap that got us into this housing mess? Speculators & credit?

And if they REALLY feel that isn't where the problem lies, why won't they just agree to the investigation and prove the Dems wrong on that?

    GREAT NEWS!!!!!!

    Todays Polling:

"The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows Barack Obama leading in states with 200 Electoral College votes while John McCain leads in states with 174 votes. When leaners are included, Obama leads 284-240. On Friday, June 20, Colorado moved from Leans Democratic to Toss-Up but Ohio did the reverse, moving from Toss-Up to Leans Democratic. "

Rasmussen will also give a state-by-state count.

So much for the GOP's "electoral map" argument....LMAO!!!!

    Oh happy days!!!!!!!

REAL LEADERS WE CAN DEPEND ON!!!

You can depend on him to send thousands more young women and men to their deaths in Iraq so he can realize his ambition. He knows the war was cooked up by those you idolize Bush,Cheney,Rice,Powell and rumsfeld but is willing to shill for them to get a shot at the whitehouse. Vote for death of our soldiers! Vote McCain.

      • Posted By: Concerned Ctzn @ 06/19/2008 8:49:48 PM

Frankly my dear, I don't IDOLIZE any of the above listed NEO-CONVICTS. When are you DemKats gonna get it. There is one thing you're absolutely wright on: the Neocons did cook up this war. And sadly enough, they did so for many reasons other than the wright reasons. But that's neither here nor there now. Whether we (America) like it or not, "W" and Co. disturbed the hornets nest in the Middle-East and now we "ALL" HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT RESPONSIBLY!

Sorry, can't just pack up and leave now like most naive DemKats want to do. Heck, even Sen. Green should know that! It's gonna take time and patience. Iran's lickin' their chops wright now in hopes that BO gets elected.

As soon as Sen. Green pulls all the troops out, IRAN will move wright in. GOOD PLAN DEMKATS! WAKE UP TO REALITY! STOP DRINKIN' THE BO KOOL-AID! SAVE THAT FOR ALL THE NAIVE AND IDEALISTIC COLLEGE KIDS. These are some very serious times. And now is not the time to be experimenting with a ROOKIE and/or providing on-the job Pres. training. No thanks!!!

        • Posted By: dking312 @ 06/21/2008 1:26:11 AM

          W. & CO. continue to "disturb the hornets nest". How would you feel if Iraqis and Iranians came over here telling us how we must live, cause that's how they live? You don't think those folks are at least a bit disturbed knowing they are fighting a war that was cooked up by our govt? Any normal person can understand what the issue is. They ain't on no American S**T. Once we talk to them and make up for Bush dumb ass, we shall be better. Osama is the culprit...where the hell is HE at? Are they looking for him in Iraq? That's rhetorical. Are Americans trying to put in their bid for some oil in a forceful manner, no doubt? Oh, that's rhetorical also.
Republicans put a stupid puppet in the white house....not even a smart puppet (oxymoron?)
The time is up for the old guys doing the puppeteering behind the curtains. Their gig is up.

War war war, and you wonder why the youth acting retarded, shooting up universities and what not.....
Cause we are spending the afterschool program money on bullets!

    A Vote 4 Sen. Green means/equals:

    1. Inexperience
    2. Questionable American Loyalty
    3. Higher taxes (incl Cap. Gains Taxes)
    4. More Costly Entitlement Social/ObamaCare Programs
    5. Too Progressive views / ideologies, traditional values ultimately go out the door
    6. Higher cost for Kool-Aid and Carrots to dangle to maintain control of the base

A VOTE 4 MC CAIN MEANS:

    1. Lower Taxes or Same level taxes.
    2. Good ol' Traditional Values
    3. Significant Investment in Green Technology to combat Geo-Climate Change
    4. Last and most important! Wisdom and Experience we ALL can believe in!

    • Posted By: dking312 @ 06/21/2008 1:18:00 AM

Now, on to Senator Mc "tear the coasts up" Senator Mc "since Bush likes this better, I've changed my mind" Senator "I'm going to waste my time and taxpayer money to fly to Canada and talk, where they can't even vote":
1.Lower taxes: yeah, by about $700 less for middle to lower income people. His version of lowering taxes is keeping Bush tax cuts (which he opposed) in place, securing tax cuts for the really wealthy.
2.Traditional Values: Those went out of the window years ago! This guy left his disabled wife for Cindy Mccain! Damn cheater! We know he leaves people in their worst time of need. UGH.
3.Green Technology....like drilling until we have nothing left to drill? Obama offers this same investment....this is years away from impacting anything too heavily.
      4. Wisdom? Like knowing not to stand in front of that UGLY ASS green backdrop? Or experience doing what other people tell him to do? Or wisdom spending someone else's money? Like he does Cindy?
Experience? We aren't trying to get that war experience in here....That's what the top war advisers are for. Mccain would be trying so hard to act like he has the most knowledge, when he doesn't. Now, if he does, he should apply for the appropriate position.
P.S. WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE< PLEASE TELL MCCAIN TO BE A LITTLE MORE GENUINE? WHY WOULD A CANDIDATE BITE SOMEONE ELSE"S SLOGAN? He doesn't care enough about his people to put even a little thought into that! GEEZ!
P.P.S. Son't we all agree it's mighty sad that this puppet could only think of four loose ass points for Mccain, did I mention they were'nt even really tangible points of interest? Not even all true!

Liars have been running the country for some time now.

    • Posted By: dking312 @ 06/21/2008 1:15:31 AM

      Sen Green:
      1. Inexperience...He's experienced enough to be running a great political race at this point, and the "experienced " are the ones who've got us into this mess!
      2. Questionable loyalty: Questioned by whom? He is well off, has gotten great expensive educational experience, and wants his own children (did you know they are also American?) to grow up in the greatest & most diverse country in the world, or else he wouldn't be trying to improve it.
      3. Higher taxes: Unless you amke A LOT...I MEAN A LOT of money, this doesn't apply to you. And technically, what he wants to do is erase taxes handed to the wealthy by Bush, everyone else will see a decrease of at least $1000. Cap gains? He's talking about the big earners and only by about 3 or 4%. Do you think they can't afford it? What is the income level that will be taxed under Obama, concentrate on that.
      4. Entitlement...Kinda like how Republicans should HAVE EVERYTHING, and then let their scraps trickle down to the general population so they can make it right back. Obama cares enough to make some programs that will employ some people, or teach some others, or keep some crazy kids from shooting up any other schools...You disagree with this type of initiave? Are you human?
      5. Traditionally, we've noticed the admisinstration HAS NO VALUES....unless it deals with their own.
      6. The iraq war was the carrot last time....you think ANYBODY in the world could do worse than that? Oops. Forgot about Mccain & Iran. And I don't think Obama drinks Kool-aid.

Guess who is hiding tonight? Good old Holy Roller. He's got his tail between his legs and is laying low.

Holy Roller, your "hero" Larry Sinclair was arrested today on outstanding warrants for theft and forgery. His disbarred lawyer Mr. Sibley showed up wearing a kilt (that's right, a skirt).

What I want to know is this: since you and the religious right hate gays so much, why will you get in bed with them when it suits your twisted purpose?

I hope you are sobbing yourself to sleep, now that your latest stink bomb has been shown to smell even more than the offal you were serving.

Everything that Holy Roller says is false.

Sen. John McCain told the American people Wednesday night, Jan.30, 2008 at the conclusion of the final Republican Presidential Debate broadcast live on CNN from the Ronald Reagan Library, that if elected president,

"I will bring our troops home with honor."

This declaration was no doubt said with (forked) tongue in cheek by McCain. In reality this closing statement of McCain is hard to believe when in 1993 as a ranking member of the Senate Select Investigating Committee on POW/MIA Affairs, McCain declared, the final chapter in the POW/MIA Investigation had been written and then issued the Final Report of his Committee in which he concluded:

"We found no compelling evidence to prove that Americans are alive in captivity today (1993). We have not hidden anything from the public. There is some evidence???though no proof to suggest only the possibility that a few Americans may have been kept behind after the end of America???s military involvement in Vietnam. The Committee found absolutely no credible evidence that the U.S. Government conspired to prevent the American people from knowing that Americans remained captive in Southeast Asia. (Report p. 468)

It makes me sick to my stomach when I see a rewrite of the no POW's in nam statement that McCain issued. You will not find a REAL Nam Vet that will agree with that. How can mcCain maintain that "hero" status when he knows the truth about the phony evidence cooked up by his idols Bush,Cheney,Rice and Powell. How can a true patriot be willing to send thousands of young women and men to die in Iraq just to realize his own ambition? I would never and could never vote for a man who would do so. a vote for John McCain is a vote to kill our troops. Anyone supporting mcCain has to know that.

      • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 06/19/2008 1:30:59 PM

Thank you thank you. in my opinion I would expect an American hero to be much more sensitive to this issue. I agree the information is out there so how is it that people could choose to ignore it and actively work to put this man in office. There is very little about him that I do not find offensive.

Rassmussen to the rescue! When the latest Florida polls showed Barack leading McCain, Rassmussen threw together a hurry-up poll using "500" likely voters to put McCain back on top. I thought my co- mouth-breathing -worker was going to hurt himself running in with it this morning. On another subject but somewhat related. Charlie Crist's bid for the VP spot will have the opposite effect McCain hoped for. Crist's flip flop on off-shore drilling in florida will surely cause mcCain to lose Florida and it looked as if he had it locked up with the defecting Hillary voters. If there's anything we floridians worry about most its losing our Beaches and our livelyhood to an oil spill on the coast. I'm the first one to agree that the process has proven safe with the North sea Drilling daily in the worst kind of weather, but the people who depend on the tourist will not even consider it. McCain will lose florida and the white house and Crist will lose his chance at being VP and his chance to be a two term Governor.

The War Secrets Sen. John McCain Hides
Former POW Fights Public Access to POW/MIA Files
    April 25, 2000
    By Sydney Schanberg

    PART 1 OF 2

NEW YORK (APBnews.com) -- The voters who were drawn to John S. McCain in his run for the Republican presidential nomination this year often cited, as the core of his appeal, his openness and blunt candor and willingness to admit past lapses and release documents that other senators often hold back. These qualities also seemed to endear McCain to the campaign press corps, many of whom wrote about how refreshing it was to travel on the McCain campaign bus, "The Straight Talk Express," and observe a maverick speaking his mind rather than a traditional candidate given to obfuscation and spin.

But there was one subject that was off-limits, a subject the Arizona senator almost never brings up and has never been open about -- his long-time opposition to releasing documents and information about American prisoners of war in Vietnam and the missing in action who have still not been accounted for. Since McCain himself, a downed Navy pilot, was a prisoner in Hanoi for 5 1/2 years, his staunch resistance to laying open the POW/MIA records has baffled colleagues and others who have followed his career. Critics say his anti-disclosure campaign, in close cooperation with the Pentagon and the intelligence community, has been successful. Literally thousands of documents that would otherwise have been declassified long ago have been legislated into secrecy.

Yes, but is the republican method of paying for it going to leave future generations in massive debt again?
