Donny Osmond was (still is) heart throb material but so were the rest of his brothers. Jimmy had quite a career too. To mention hits for Donny as Puppy Love, how about Soldier of Love. Barry Manilow is another hottie that was missed. It is so cool that Donny is singing a Barry hit and Barry is singing a Donny hit. There's just something about those keyboard players.........

I'd like to add another name... the only heartthrob I ever had a crush on was River Phoenix. He may not have been a role model for kids, but he was soooo cute! No screaming, though... just drooling from a distance.

I was thinking of Clark Brandon while reading the article! He was in the tv shows "Mr. Merlin" and "The Fitzpatricks". I also adored Shaun Cassidy (couldn't stand Parker Stevenson), Davy Jones, Rex Smith and Brett Hudson of the Hudson Brothers. I also adore Ryan Gosling even though he is a "few" years younger than me.......

I have watched clips of Beatle mania, and Elvis hysteria... my era for puppy love was about 74 to 83... Dirk Benedict, Harrison Ford, Lance Kerwin, Eric Estrada... I never understood the screaming, crying or complete breakdowns the girls would have... you're hmmm 13 their 24... I always did the math and never got that worked up. I still marvel over the girls screaming. Anyone want to respond if they were actually one of the screaming crying fans.. what was going through your minds?

"sort of", I don't think so! Donny Osmond is STILL very much in show biz! He performs before sell out audiences and just completed a very successful world tour with his family to celebrate the original Osmond Brothers' 50th year in show business. Okay, maybe he doesn't attrack attention to himself like today's celebrities because of their scandalous ways. But Donny's fans will take him just the way he is...a nice person who's family comes first! Additionally, he treats his fans like we are his family and friends!

Wow, so many memories. So many others left off the list. Does anyone remember Clark Brandon? I have no idea what he was in but he was in all my teen idol magazines. Rex Smith was another favorite.

I can't believe you forgot one of the biggest boy bands from the 70's.......the Bay City Rollers!!! There are still fans out there, and new ones are being found every day. We still enjoy listening to the music, we have fan fests and plaid pajama parties. Some of the guys are still singing and recording music, others have moved on with their careers, but stay in touch with the fans thru official message boards and myspace.com

omg shaun cassidy is still my heart throb after all these years ..what a trip down memory lane ..
