Obama is going to be such a ruin if elected. Life long dem going rep. this time. TOO risky scarey.
Obama is going to be such a ruin if elected. Life long dem going rep. this time. TOO risky scarey.
Life long democrat? Yeah, right.
barack HUSSEIN obama shall be liken by ALL middle-east-middle west, middle south, middle North,wow...this AN ASSET not LIABILITY as you libility and STUPID like YOU......it's economy for AMERICA STUPID!!!!!
You are right Bruce, I don't like you when you're angry!
You stated the first two were "lame" but completely forgot or left out the 527 groups that put Bush in to begin with. If you are going to write a story or an oppinion include everything so that we can fairly judge the facts. These "527" groups can and have spent millions upon millions on ads and commercials promoting their wants that are not counted in the 85 million public funding and candidates have not been financially able to
respond or refute because of money limitations. All Obama is saying is that he intends to respond to
the "527" groups distortions also. Several of these ads by these groups have already been running.
I thought both McCain and Obama are against 527's.
obama is here to win the presidency not to please others to say he stuck to his principle regarding public financing. public financing is a high sounding concept initially agreed to by both parties. in reality it is a sucker's bet to see which candidate is foolish enough to limit his donations to appease some fanciful notion of goodness. on the other hand i think obama is a jerk for not taking 85 million bucks from taxpayer
money. haliburton and friends in iraq have taken billions of dollars from taxpayers and bush's war has taken another one half trillion so why is obama so snooty in objecting to do the same thing. rumor has it that congress is considering changing the national motto found on the reverse side of our currency from "in god we trust" to "in god we take." obama again showed he is an elitist by voting no on the change. and believing that taxpayer money isn't there for the taking. and who is obama to criticize mccain's view on war.. mccain served as a pow for over five years during vietnam and no doubt had to undergo extensive psychological rehabilitation from the post traumatic stress of his imprisonment. obama and the majority of americans have never had to go thru this kind of mental restructuring. mccain doesn't want any sympathy. he just hopes that voters understand the backgoround of why his temper sometimes suddenly explodes and why he shows difficulty remembering the names of things.
And so not taking taxpayer money and relying completely on the millions of us who send him 20 to 200 dollars instead of corporate or lobbyist millions is wrong in what way?!?!!?!? Your article might as well have been written by Carl Rove it is so filled with misrepresentations and conjecture stated as fact. Maybe you can also tie in those made up stories as facts like the "Chinese drilling off the coast of Florida" or falsely claim that Obama is a Muslim again. I don't get it. McCain is being investigated for breaking the law by flip flopping on taking money during the primary then opting out. Then after huge amounts of money have already been spent while he had no opponent up to a couple weeks ago, he now flip flops to take the money AFTER Obama announces that he has enough from donations to finance his own campaign. Maybe has something to do with the GOP is flush with cash and McCain is not and the DNC is not flush with cash and Obama is? Seems like the McCain announcement was just another attempt to change the direction of attention away from where the two candidates are getting their money. Kind of like a his being a silver spoon millionaire married to a billionaire but having the nerve to call Barack and his wife "elitists."
I agree ... although I think the gist of the article was questioning Obama's allegation that it is lobbyists and PAC's funding McCain. If the true number of such contributions is as small as the article says, then it may not be true. If that's the case, then Obama should be called on it. I am for Obama, but I am also believe accurate information is important in this campaign. I suspect the media is going to be "calling" McCain's campaign on a lot more of these types of things and Obama's, because that is just the kind of campaign the Republicans run. But if Obama steps out-of-bounds once and a while, then he should get slapped too.
HUSSEIN IS A CROOK AND A FRAUD!!!
NOBAMA!!!
Again with that. :-(
I'll tell you what's lame, this article and the person who wrote it.
McCain Financing Structure With RNC Skirts Intention Of Public Finance
The media has been abuzz over speculation that John McCain will accept public financing in the general election. The attention has overshadowed a new fund structure that will allow the McCain camp to collect significantly more money than the individual limits placed by the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill.
The Wall Street Journal reports on the details of McCain's fund:
Campaign manager Rick Davis released the details of the "McCain Victory 08" fund on Friday. He said the entity is a joint committee, combining the McCain campaign, the Republican National Committee and four key states under a "hybrid legal structure."
The idea is to tap donors for more than the $2,300 limit set by campaign finance laws. Under legislation pushed by McCain in his role as a senator from Arizona, an individual can donate a maximum of $2,300 to a presidential primary campaign and the same amount to the general election campaign. Although McCain received the number of delegates necessary to secure the nomination in March, he will not be the party's official nominee until the convention in September--so he is still running a primary campaign.
The new structure allows up to $70,000 in individual contributions by channeling the money into different McCain-centric funds. The first $2,300 of that would go to McCain's primary campaign. The Republican National Committee would receive $28,500 of the donation. The remaining funds would be divided equally, up to $10,000 a piece, among four states the campaign has designated as battlegrounds for November: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Colorado and New Mexico.
The non-partisan organization Public Campaign Action Fund has published an open letter to McCain asking that he drop the system:
This joint fundraising committee, called McCain Victory '08 Fund, will allow your campaign to accept contributions as large as $70,000, according to the New York Times - an amount that is far in excess of contribution limits for candidates and political parties put in place by your own campaign finance law, the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002, also known as McCain-Feingold. Your willingness to evade the spirit of McCain-Feingold sets a poor precedent for whomever the Democratic Party nominates as your general election opponent. It also sends a signal that your campaign is less serious about the importance of participating in the public financing system in the general. Indeed, even if you were to participate, you and your campaign are exploiting a loophole and will be still be courting wealthy donors who could donate tens of thousands to the McCain Victory '08 Fund.
You and your campaign will describe this activity as legally sound. But that does not make it right.

So McCain co-sponsored the bill and now he is working aroung it. What a hypocrit. And that will just be the tip of the iceberg if he is elected president.
Ditto!
TYLER - The price of oil swelled to another record high Monday morning - before dropping back. It almost hit $140 a barrel - but then fell 25 cents. It appears - a recent increase in oil output from Saudi Arabia -- is not driving down crude prices. Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, who started a bipartisan group called "American Solutions for Winning the Future" held little back at the Texas Republican Convention. He wants to use American solutions to change to the U.S. energy policy.
Simply put - he's fed up with Congress: "The problem is not big oil or the foreigners," said Speaker Gingrich. "The problem is not the Saudis. The problem is getting Congress to do it's job." And that job, he says, is to start using the energy we have. "Congress outlaws every conceivable energy source," said Speaker Gingrich. Gingrich is making his case for domestic drilling by launching a campaign with Actor Chuck Norris, with the slogan: "Drill here, Drill now, Pay less." The campaign is urging Congress to do something now to bring down gas prices. Speaker Gingrich also has thoughts on speculators. "It's people who are betting the U.S. is too dumb to produce (its own oil)."
He sides with East Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert -- when it comes to speculators and drilling. "If you began selling off two million barrels a day...we can pump out of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. It would immediately bring down the price of oil." Speaker Gingrich proposes selling off half of the reserve - now. "Do it suddenly..without telling anybody in advance and punish every speculator."The very speculators, he says, that are betting against America."

U cant put crude oil in gas tanks; and for years oil companies have been saying that the problem is refining capability. Pumping more oil out of the ground is going to lead to cheaper gasoline how?
Exactly! That's what the Saudi's essentially said to Bush when they politely told him to pound sand. Production is not the issue - the issue is refining capacity.
Corporate Media/Repulblican spin...I love it. Sounds like Blah Blah Blah......Cry like a baby. Shoes on the other foot isn't it? Obama's going to need that money because McCannon will get a free ride from you guys. And if you don't think there's any differerence between the two candidates, well, I'd say....you're a Republican. Simple and truthful as that. The cannon will explode way before the election....showing everyone he is too much of a hothead to be President. He's wrong on just about every issue you can think of. "Straight talk express" ...what a crock. That was derailed when he starting hugging President Bush....probably because he needs Bush's ties to pull in those big corporate fat cat contributions. ...Nice energy policy Cheney came up with behind closed doors by the way. That's sure working well for America. ...Go Barack. Let's get our Country back.

When Iran is bombed, 9and it will be soon) we will see $200/barrell immediately. $6/gallon gas is quite possible. The nation will then demand drilling, refineries, and alternatives, i.e. nuclear. The grand scheme of the DNC will blow up in their faces. They either flip-flop or get critized loudly. It will be a no-win situation for Hussein.
It is just too bad, this nation never addresses issues, until it is a crisis.
NOBAMA!!!
I can't believe I am agreeing with a portion of a post from Holy Roller, but I think you may be right, Bush may very well try to take some type of military action against Iran before leaving office. Probably strike at their nuclear research facilities. He is certianly stupid and arrogant enough to try.
Just one more reason to throw out the Republicans and vote for Obama.
Never addresses issues until a crisis, like the crisis we face on the economic front or on the war maybe.
IF Obama is stupid the Harvard law Review Top student...You're much like an IDIOTS/ so shut up!!!!

Obama Campaign finance by the People Of United States of all Walks of lives. He refused money from Pac ,Lobbyist interest,When he's the President Of United States he only Answerable to the People interest Not Pacs,Lobbyist. In This a man is much Smarter was Editor in Chief of Harvard Law's reviews to be our potus then John MCain that graduated lower rank of Naval Academy class ( long shot mentality)..john MCain finance by Lobbyist,Pacs, even worst recieving money $300,000 from his Fund-Raiser from Texas oilman who said,"Women being RAPE just like a bad weather, just laid back and enjoying the monent if can't help it."
Someone has gone off meds. I cannot understand a word of this rambling... I think Jack means:
McCain bad!! Obama good! Obama make world a happy place!
I am willing to bet on the last place grad from the Naval Academy any day... they have integrity.
Yeah, all i got was caveman talk out of this post as well.
Much heat is generated here, but little light. Obama did a flip on public financing, but it doesn't affect me or you. McCain flipped on tax cuts for the wealthy, once opposing them and now embracing them. Now this flip DOES affect you and me. If Obama "lied" about public financing, McCain likewise lied about the tax cuts for the super-rich. They both were flips, not lies, but McCain's flip is far more serious.
Thank you, they are both politicians people. I dont care who you support, your personal preference doesnt change the fact that they are both POLITICIANS!
OMG, how did I stumble upon the Republican newspaper? Dribble, nonsense, racial innuendos. Our country's ONLY hope is to elect Obama!
Our countries only hope is Steven Colbert.
Colbert/Stewart 2008!!
Finally something we agree upon!!!
Damn Straight!
Obama: Wrong for our country; wrong for the world.

i FORGOT TO MENTION THAT MOVEON.ORG HAS DISCONTINUED ITS 527 ADS AND IS ISSUING A CHALLENGE TO THE REPUBLICANS AND MCCAIN TO DO THE SAME. NOW IS THE TIME FOR MCCAIN TO PROVE HE'S SERIOUS ABOUT RUNNING A "CLEAN" CAMPAIGN.
By the way, it doesn't look very good to have Cindy McCain go on GMA and talk critically about Michelle Obama. For one thing, her background as an adultress, thief and drug addict might be brought out in retaliation. And by the way, Cindy. Did you happen to see your "Hero" of a hubby say, "I didn't love America until I was separated from her." on video on "Verdict" on MSNBC last night? If not, I don't think you'll see it on Fox, but try the Huffingtonpost.com.
Just another reminder to the McCains: People who have EIGHT glass houses shouldn't throw stones!
If a 527 group want a "truce" on attack ads, it means they are concerned. McCain and the Republicans should accept the challenge knowing full and well that indepedent 527 groups will do their dirty work and they can take the high road.
Also, Obama may want to tell his cheering station, MSNBC need to drop the adultery and drug use story. That can and will back fire hard on Obama!
Debunked just how will it backfire? Obama has already admitted to drug experimentation in his youth, and I highly doubt you have an "adultary tape" to go along with the supposed "Whitey tape" that never materialized. I love the "dark cloud on the horizon" mentality you Neocons keeps trying to deploy... Not working bud. I stopped believing in the Boggyman at a very young age...
The huffington post is the LEAST objective source you can ever find...there is NOTHING on that post that I would believe without fully checking out the facts. And what I saw Cindy McCain say was that Barack Obama and his wife are both fine people and that she didn't have any idea why Michelle said what she said...the interviewer would have to ask Michelle that question because everyone comes at life from their own perspective. And isn't it convenient that you say Moveon wants to discontinue ads now that the unions have pledged millions and millions of dollars to make their own...nice try sedonakaren...and don't forget, the McCains were fully vetted by GW in the 2000 election...Obama has lots of skeletons in his closet thanks to the Chicago political machine. >:-)
Nice on one hand you bring up how your candidate doesn't want to fight dirty and then in the next paragraph you Slam Mccains wife with exactly the kind of crap 527's are famous for.
By the way its to Baraks advantage not to go negative he has the lead. Just like he stopped debating Hillary once he had the lead. He is a great pokitician too bad his character is flawed and his judgement is so poor.
Here's the truth, Obama lied, it's about making a promise and keeping it. He's made promises to you, his supporters and what makes you think that one day he might not be lying to you, and you might be the ones on the other end. Obama is looking out for OBAMA, he wants to be president and he will say whatever he needs to do to get there. You guys are just blinded, and won't listen. So we'll see who has more numbers come November, I believe that America will vote McCain.
That's all for today folks! I'll definitely be back!
Have a great weekend!
Oh yes McCain is so truthful and has such great character???? Only in your dreams!!!
This is not about McCain, this is about your "holier than thou" Obama who says he is better than everyone else. Doesn't look like he is!!! He's not only a dirty politician, he's king of the dirty politicians!
1st - show me where Obama has said he's better, holier then anyone , ANYONE else?
2nd - how does making a financially smart, and politically expedient move make one 'dirty'
3rd - what is your measuring scale for dirty politicians?
You know nothing hack. To see a Latino name that is claiming to vote for McCain is the pure definition of ignorance. Why don't you go read up on his voting record on immigration.
Nor-cal needs to check her facts. thou assumes too much about McCain and have drank the Bambi Kool-aid. McCain was hit by the right for trying to fix immigration, just like Bush! the Dems to do not Immigration fixed and keep all of "Us Latinos" down and ignorant. The Dems have a majority in congress and, yet cannot solve anything. Leave your putdowns out of a political discussions and try to get educated about the true facts and reality. The main article was about Newsweek's correctly reporting on Bar ack..ack lame charge. The left went crazy. Go to the center and read about Bambi many many problems and think American.
VOTE OBAMA IN NOVEMBER. Then we can:
1. Balance our check book.
2. Pay down our debt.
3. Stop killing Women and Children in Iraq.
4. Change the way we are viewed by others around the globe.
5. Bring Repubs and Dems together on issues that will imact all our lives.
6. Increase funding to the ARTS. Much needed.
7. Help those in need around the world.
8. Protect the rights of all Americans.
Please add to the list it you can think of anything... I have to go back to work.
:)
1. After you pay the increased taxes for social programs, good luck on that one...not to count the increased cost of energy thanks to NO PLAN!
2. If you mean the national debt, good luck...too many programs, not enough money = more taxes.
3. nice try...the surge is working and he knows it...so do you people
4. again, nice try...the only change will be that they will see him as a weakling
5. Not a chance that a far, far left liberal will EVER bring republicans and democrats together
6. Yeah...maybe...where are the funds coming from? And why are the ARTS so much more needed than feeding the starving, clothing the poor...that sounds a bit elitist to me
7. Doing that already...that's what you people are complaining about isn't it? Didn't we help the people of Iraq who were being subjected to genocide under Saddam Hussein?
8. Does that include the right to not have the presidency up for sale to the highest bidder by rejecting the public finance campaign rules and capping the disgusting amounts of money spent?
Sorry, but I would rather have us roll back the tax cuts on the richest 1%, then continue on with this rediculous plan of borrow and spend. The thing about you Neocons that I really don't get is that you claim to be the real patriots in America, and yet you don't want our government to invest in Americans. BUT you have no problem investing TRILLIONS into Muslims in Iraq in an attempt to "liberate" them when you routinely express your hatred of them. To me it's rwally backwards thinking...
9) Keep killing innocent babies in the US
10) Have our rights taken away(e.g.: Religous )
11) Send our monies overseas instead of using right here in America to feed our hungry!
12) Continue to lead Americans deeper into ruin
*ROFL* That was hilarious...but so true. Hey Eternity...it takes money to make money. We aren't going to be able to pay our IOU's back to CHINA or the OTHER Middle Eastern country we are borrowing it from to finance this "war" in Iraq if we don't LEAVE there! You want this war so bad, like the other 29% of the population then why don't THEY (and you) go over there and fight it for free? That's a PLAN right there! Um, my whole philosopy on that thing about us "helping the people of Iraq" they didn't ask for our help now did they? I firmly believe that if they wanted help they would have at least tried to help themselves or leave or something but they didn't. WE invaded Iraq and got rid of Saddam for OIL...yes, say it with me...O-I-L..black gold, Texas T....
We are going to HAVE to increase taxes (on the RICH...because NONE of you people seem to want to include that he will raise taxes on those that make $250K or more and lower (by $1000 to $1500) for those that make less than that and for the elderly who have less than $50K a year NO taxes) in order to pay off this mess and get out of debt.
Also, you act as if Obama implemented Social Security and the other programs implemented by the government (public school education is not strictly funded by LOCAL taxes but with the help of federal funds as well). He is only going to FIX them because greedy people have tacked so much crap onto the spending for those programs that on a fraction of the money that is supposed to be used for them is going to it (these are called the "earmarks" that McCain likes to talk about but it's really called pork barrel spending. They just came up with a pretty name for it. Besides, a lot of those earmarks are nothing more than additional instructions and won't save as much as McCain thinks they will).
You are too funny!
