TYLER - The price of oil swelled to another record high Monday morning - before dropping back. It almost hit $140 a barrel - but then fell 25 cents. It appears - a recent increase in oil output from Saudi Arabia -- is not driving down crude prices. Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, who started a bipartisan group called "American Solutions for Winning the Future" held little back at the Texas Republican Convention. He wants to use American solutions to change to the U.S. energy policy.

Simply put - he's fed up with Congress: "The problem is not big oil or the foreigners," said Speaker Gingrich. "The problem is not the Saudis. The problem is getting Congress to do it's job." And that job, he says, is to start using the energy we have. "Congress outlaws every conceivable energy source," said Speaker Gingrich. Gingrich is making his case for domestic drilling by launching a campaign with Actor Chuck Norris, with the slogan: "Drill here, Drill now, Pay less." The campaign is urging Congress to do something now to bring down gas prices. Speaker Gingrich also has thoughts on speculators. "It's people who are betting the U.S. is too dumb to produce (its own oil)."

He sides with East Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert -- when it comes to speculators and drilling. "If you began selling off two million barrels a day...we can pump out of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. It would immediately bring down the price of oil." Speaker Gingrich proposes selling off half of the reserve - now. "Do it suddenly..without telling anybody in advance and punish every speculator."The very speculators, he says, that are betting against America."

So drilling is the solution, eh? Wonderful. Again, another short-sighted solution to a long term problem. Why can't we be the generation that says "You know, I am going to do what's right as opposed to what's better for my damn pocketbook". I am willing to do that. Drilling is not a sustainable energy policy. Finding a way to make our country independent from finite resources of energy is a sustainable policy. If we could use our supposed innovative skills that we as Americans are supposed to have, then we could in the next 25 years come up with a way to be totally dependent only on infinite sources of energy like the sun and wind.

But, of course, it is too much to ask people to sacrifice. You know, because, well, we have our Hummers to drive and our lavish lifestyles to lead.

Look in the mirror once in a while and take personal responsibility. Isn't personal responsibility the Republican mantra anyway?

Pleasesaveamerica: Lets see now if I have this right; We don't need to drill for oil that is already here, we should keep buying from the Arabs and ship it over here. We can't use nuclear energy because that's too dangerous. We will get all of our energy from wind and sun.

You are indeed quite naive. Shifting to alternative energy will take decades, and in the meantime we still need energy to participate in this global economy, and indeed to function in day to day life. We have the oil right here in this country to last us until we can develop and perfect those alternative energy sources. We can get oil from shale, from coal, and from drilling. We can get electricity from nuclear energy, but there has been a moratorium on that since the 1970's.

I suppose you personally do not heat or cool your home, don not have electric lights, do not drive an automobile, never fly, never eat, and never need to purchase anything. Everything we do requires energy, and right now, the automobile works wonderfully.

We use energy to survive and to prosper. If you don't want this country to prosper, and its people to prosper, I don't understand why you remain here. Our prosperity also paves the way for the prosperity of other countries that may be behind us developmentally.

Solar and wind are fine, but they alone are not the answer either. A combination of all the options available to us as we develop new ways to supply energy is the only option that will actually work.

Wake up before its too late.

I didn't say Obama had the best energy plan either. Where did I say that? Stop trying to make this out to be an Obama vs. McCain thing. I am making this into people who are willing to do what's right vs. people who just want to make sure their own standard of living is secure, consequences be darned.

  • Posted By: PleaseSaveAmerica @ 06/20/2008 3:10:29 PM

Boy, do I find it sad for the state of our country when we can only spew attacks and really have a rational, thought provoking discussions on issues. I mean, jeez, look at the person (mioliman) who insists on calling Barack Obama, "Barack Hussein Obama" in order to garner some sort of reaction to his middle name. That is ignorance 101.

And avramits keep talking about how "liberals" are going to bring down this country and they don't offer any solutions. Provide me some solutions yourself avramits -- not just cliche talking points. You can't - I know you can't. You keep saying that Obama is going to drive this country into oblivion, but even you yourself admits that our economy is weak, under a Republican administration. Both Obama and McCain have their ideas on how to bring the country forward; either may succeed or fail. But you have *zero* proof that Obama's plans will fail, just like I have *zero* proof that McCain's will fail.

Sometimes I think an IQ test should be necessary before being able to vote. It's very sad.

Heres a conservative plan for the election

      Drill Here Drill now.

Heres a Liberal plan for the election

Tax oil companies because they are evil.

which plan will produce more oil?

      • Posted By: stholas @ 06/20/2008 3:33:33 PM

Thank you got that. Drill here, drill now will solve nothing. It would be years before you see any of the oil anyway, so you might as well think of energy saving alternatives that would help fuel the dying manufacturing sector in America at the same time.

We don't need the smears. Policy over petty bigotry.

        Obama '08.

        • Posted By: Dansterpower @ 06/20/2008 4:26:53 PM

You are very incorrect. We do need more oil and we need it now, in two years, in five years and in ten years WHILE we institute alternative energy plans. I am liberal who was never in favor of drilling.

Like Obama, I have changed my mind on this topic and now realize I was wrong on the Drilling Issue. We need to drill.

???Policy over "using the Cloak of Bigotry assertions" as a blanket statement to end debate.

          • Posted By: PleaseSaveAmerica @ 06/20/2008 5:01:28 PM

We only need to drill now if you are unwilling to make sacrifices for the future. Sure, it may hurt *us*, but in 25-50 years when our kids have kids, they will be all the better for it. I am for a sustainable energy policy using near-infinite resources (wind/solar, etc.). If we drill now, what's to say that we won't just continue to drill drill drill. At some point it *has* to stop. It has to. There is no debate about that. At some point, it will run out. Why can we be the generation that stops it, make a sacrifice or two, and make our grandkids better for it.

          • Posted By: stholas @ 06/20/2008 4:58:01 PM

Sorry, but I disagree. Ruining the environment to make up for years of laziness is not the answer. I'm a tree hugger, so be it. The American car manufacturing industry is in tatters because they've been overtaken by more efficient manufacturing methods in Japan, and the advent of fuel-efficient cars. Where were we all these years? Making gas guzzlers that are crippling Americans. There's no easy fix. Time to innovate again.

      • Posted By: FreeAmerica @ 06/20/2008 3:28:19 PM

WE Don't NEED more OIL! I'm ready to go back to horses rather than sucking up to the Saudi's or sucking our environment even further into destruction! Move up to the 21st Century! If we would have paid attention 30 years ago - we wouldn't even be using combustible engines! So more drilling is not the answer!

  • Posted By: mrzoid @ 06/20/2008 4:22:30 PM

Bottom line is that voters dont care about campaign finance. This is a non-story. If McCain opts out, the pundits will be yaking, but Americans will not care; the polls have shown the issues people care about, and campaign funding isnt even on the radar screen.

Right, cause McCain sticks by his guns. Oh wait, wasnt he against off shore drilling and the Bush tax cuts. All politicians jump around on issues when its conveinient, thats what makes them politicians.

        • Posted By: Interested American @ 06/20/2008 4:54:13 PM

And the fact that you don't care is what makes the system broken. You just assume I am picking on your savior because I won't support his scummy decision to break a pledge. If you never expect more, then you will always wind up with the same thing.

The only credentials Obama has going for him is his credibility, as he throws it away all you can do is criticize McCain to explain Obama's failings.

          • Posted By: mrzoid @ 06/20/2008 5:01:21 PM

How can you consider Obama's decision to switch to private funds a matter of "flip-flopping"? Flip-flopping has to do with matters of moral and ethical relations, not simple strategical campaign decisions!! After all, McCain is legally allowed the same previlige. Sounds to me like some here are seriously "hating" on Obama's fame and appeal!! TO ALL OBAMA SUPPORTERS: It is pointless to argue facts with some people when it comes to this election because some people are so entrenched in their desire to dislike someone, that they will even believe a lie that doesn't make any logical sense. CASE IN POINT: "We're upset that his PASTOR made anit-american comments in the pulpit at a CHRISTIAN church, but we also believe that he's and undercover MUSLIM that secretly attends a MOSQUE and listens to an IMAAM"!!!! Are you guys serious??!!!!

    • Posted By: Interested American @ 06/20/2008 4:50:27 PM

It is a flip-flop (I hate that term) because Obama pledged to use public funds when he thought he would need them. Now that he doesn't need them he is renouncing that pledge.

This might be hard for you to understand because you're on the of "faithful" but when someone goes back on their word simply for personal benefit... we're not required to think that that person is inspirational. We call them liars.

I fully support Senator Obama's decision to opt-out of public financing...especially after witnessing the Swift Boat veterans vile campaign against John Kerry. We've only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to slanderous attacks on Obama. He's getting it from every side--even the so called "Democrats" that continue to kick and scream because their beloved savoir (Hillary) lost.

    • Posted By: FrogHammer @ 06/20/2008 3:49:38 PM

You don't know what you are talking about. The Swift Boat group was funded by 527's; outside groups funded by soft money, which has nothing to do with the hard money restrictions placed on candidates who accept public financing. I could try talking to a wall or talking to an Obamabot - but I repeat myself.

      • Posted By: Nor-Cal for Obama @ 06/20/2008 3:59:28 PM

Froghammer, you define an appropriate problem with your pathetic insult towards the voting majority.

527's ARE outside of funding limitations.
Funny how Mccain has been spending privately earned funds UP UNTIL Yesterday when Obama declined the money. As of Today Mccain's camp is federally funded by American Tax Payers, but he has been spending private funds for the past 3 months during his general campaign!!!

        Talk about Hypocrisy!

        • Posted By: FrogHammer @ 06/20/2008 4:09:58 PM

Nor-Cal, there's no nice way to say this. You are illiterate. My point to the previous poster was that 527's ARE OUTSIDE of public funding - that's what soft money means! That is what I said and which you either are too thick to get or choose to ignore. The previous poster's point about Obama's opting out of public financing as a defense against Swift Boating therefore made no sense, as is the case with yet another incoherent rant from you.

For the record, I'm a Democrat who is looking for a reason to vote for Obama. Personally, at this point, he seems like an empty suit and typical Chicago pol. If I leave the top slot blank in February, it will be because of his tendency to mask political expediency in high minded rhetoric and supporters like you who cannot stand any inconvenient truths about your Messiah.

          • Posted By: Nor-Cal for Obama @ 06/20/2008 4:23:33 PM

Wow, Froghammer, your just an insulting jerk!.
I can't find one post here where you don't personally insult the individual, or people you are talking about!

If you truly are a democrat, and you can't find a reason to vote for one, then go register as something else! You dont sound like a democrat to me, but rather a sour GOP.

            • Posted By: FrogHammer @ 06/20/2008 4:43:22 PM

Uh-uh. I'm an "insulting jerk", who posts personal attacks. "Change We Can Believe In!"

As a life-long Democrat, and one who has voted in every election since 1980, I want Democrats to win.
I think we're going into this fight with the weakest candidate in modern history, tragically unneccesarily, since we had a candidate with a much better chance of winning, and I know that the candidate who will most likely be our standard-bearer has the nasiest, meanest group of Sore Winners in history!

    • Posted By: befair @ 06/20/2008 3:51:08 PM

I agree with the first part of your comment but I have to take exception to the jab at Hillary supporters. If we want the party to be successful in november, then we need to reach out to her supporters and do it in a respectful way. I am an Obama supporter and I know if he had lost the nomination it would have been very hard for me to accept but I would have done it. If all of us come together, Clinton and Obama supporters and those who have had enough of the way things are now we can win this election and show the country what can be accomplished by putting aside our differences to make America what it should be.

Thanks for screwing up my post, Newsweek! Your need for a 'login' is absolutely STUPID, and your website, with all it's active .gif b.s., etc., takes forever to build, for pages to respond -- and I have high-speed Internet!

Now, on to this STUPID story.

'Public financing' of presidential campaigns is a JOKE!

Obama is wise to opt O-U-T of this INADEQUTE system.

$84 million to run a NATIONAL campaign?

    Laughable.

The McSame camp is ticked off because they're not going to be able to keep pace with Obama's INTERNET fundraising.

Factcheck.org would do better to do an expose on hos holier-than-thou Senator McBush GAMED the public financing sytem during the primaries -- is this allegedly HONEST man, John McSame-as-Bush, truly a Man of His Word? NO.

Finally, any voter that bases a vote against Obama for his wise decision to opt OUT of public financing is a fool. After all, raise your hand if you think some bunch Republican 527 LIARS, like Swiftboat Veterans For the Truth, isn't waiting in the wings to unleash a smear campign of distortions & outright LIES about Senator Obama.

  • Posted By: MANDINGO @ 06/20/2008 4:24:50 PM

Big deal... so what. If Obama has found a way to finance his campaign through private contributions AND keep those with direct pull out of his ear, then why should his campaign be funded with government money? Stick to the issues.

    • Posted By: Dansterpower @ 06/20/2008 4:28:59 PM

"why should his campaign be funded with government money"

WRONG -- it is NOT government money. This money comes from the check off box on all our Individual Income Tax returns. It is OUR Money -- we the people -- not "government money." This money is paid by us and not by the special interest donors who have organized their troops to support both team Obama and McCain.

You're no Democrat, so stop pretending. After the past 8 years of Bush misrule and mismanagement and war-mongering, only a fool would vote for a Bush-wannabe for president. Michelle Obama is a christian, Barack Obama is a christian, I don't think christianity qualifies as a fanatical religion. I think Sen. Obama and his wife have lived exemplary lives thus far. It seems to me that the two of them have done extensive work in their communities for years that helps the less fortunate get a bit of a break now and then. No one is perfect and the Obama's know this as well as anyone. Also, there are many ways to serve your country, not everyone has to be in the military.

For years you guys had people like Rove and Swift Boaters using lies and fear to gain access to the White House so that they could rape the constitution, plunder our surplus, dismantle human rights and squander our standing in the world. This time Americans are taking the country back from the Republican terrorists, all by small donations. Of course you're upset... you know you can't win. Of course you think it's unfair, because he's gotten all this support without resorting to dirty tricks. Of course you're livid that Obama is the next president, for it means you'll be powerless. It's fun to watch you scream from your sinking ship.

Funny, if Clinton had NOT vetoed the 1995 bill to start exploration in ANWR, we would have that oil. Riddle me this, Obamanics and their new Messiah, the O Great Powerful, Obama.

Why is it that Cuba (through China), Venezuela, and Mexico are going to start drilling 90 miles off the Florida Keys, but the US won't?

I have not gotten a rationale answer to that one, from ANY Democrat that I have asked this question.

Drilling is part of the equation, not a sole solution, but part of the equation to get us out of this mess. The Democrats and their looney leftist environmental whackos deny us this option. And I only need to add this, their second Messiah in Charge, Al Gore

    Climate Charlatan
After former Vice President Al Gore's massive home energy use was exposed in February 2007, the Nobel Prize winner began using solar panels, a geothermal system, energy-efficient light bulbs and even updated his windows and ductwork.
But the Tennessee Center for Policy Research, which revealed Gore's energy bills last year, reports that since he made those green-friendly changes to his Tennessee mansion, his energy use has surged more than 10 percent.
The center says that in the past year, Gore's home has burned through more than 213,000 kilowatt hours of electricity. That is enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

    • Posted By: PleaseSaveAmerica @ 06/20/2008 3:55:01 PM

Yeah, we want to be taking our cue from Cuba, Venezuela and Mexico. That is a great way to help future generations.

How about this? Take personal responsibility and look at yourself in the mirror. Stop making the answer drill, drill, drill and come up with a sustainable energy policy for the future. Suffer a little bit (economically, primarily) so your children and their children won't have to. I guarantee that we can have an energy policy based that is not based upon finite resources -- that's if, of course, I am right about America being the most innovative society on Earth. Nowadays, I am not sure so much.

About the President's Hydrogen Fuel Initiative
It Will Overcome Key Technical and Cost Barriers
??? Lowering the cost of hydrogen: Currently, hydrogen is more expensive to produce than conventional gasoline. The President's Hydrogen Fuel Initiative seeks to lower that cost enough to make hydrogen cost-competitive with other fuels and technologies, and to advance the methods of producing hydrogen from renewable resources, nuclear energy, and coal (with carbon capture and sequestration).
??? Creating effective hydrogen storage: Current hydrogen storage systems are inadequate for use in the wide range of vehicles that consumers demand. The President's Hydrogen Fuel Initiative supports the research and development needed to overcome the grand challenge for hydrogen storage: to store the amount of hydrogen required for a conventional driving range (>300 miles), within the vehicular constraints of weight, volume, efficiency, safety, and cost.
??? Creating affordable hydrogen fuel cells: Currently, fuel cells are more expensive than internal combustion engines. The President's Hydrogen Fuel Initiative is working to reduce the cost and improve durability of fuel cells.
It Will Help Ensure America's Energy Independence
??? Through the President's Hydrogen Fuel Initiative, the Federal government, automotive and energy industries, universities, national laboratories, and others are working together to overcome the technological and financial barriers to the successful development of commercially viable, emissions-free fuel cell vehicles that require no foreign oil.
        Federal Support Can Accelerate Development
??? Additional research and development is needed to meet consumer requirements and enable rapid commercialization so that hydrogen and fuel cell technologies can provide clean domestically-produced energy for transportation and other uses.

Dansterpower, prove it to me that Obama will bury you and your children further in debt. Prove it!!! You can't. All you can do is spew anti-Obama rhetoric. No one knows what will happen with either of the candidate's plans. You, I, no one! What I do know is what we have going on presently (talk about debt; have you seen our budget deficit lately) -- and I don't like what I see. I will take any different direction for the country, and I will suffer the consequences if they fail and I will rejoice if they succeed. I am voting for the person who I think will give my children the better future, and I am willing to suffer a bit to make that happen (energy policies, economic policies, etc.).

From your Post: "Prove it!!! You can't. All you can do is spew anti-Obama rhetoric. No one knows what will happen with either of the candidate's plans. You, I, no one!"

As per my initial "proof" above, you can see that MANY people have a reasonably solid idea of what will happen under the candidates plans (assuming of course they pass through congress and senate).

You assume this because you have not taken the time to learn and understand their plans.

Don't drink the kool aid. Learn.

      • Posted By: PleaseSaveAmerica @ 06/20/2008 3:58:22 PM

I understand their plans just fine. I actually read the issues and analyze them. I just don't Google a web site and post it here and act like I know what I am talking about. And like I said, both sets of plans can succeed or fail. I am willing to take risk of higher taxes on the hope that something good comes from it. I could be totally wrong. That is not Kool AId drinking. That is realism and understanding the facts. You are drinking more Kool Aid than I am with your anti-Obama rhetoric.

Number One: There is nothing wrong with using Google.

Number Two: I go into much greater depth than you know so do not make assumptions.

Number Three: Higher taxes, and the corruption that spends them, rarely leads to accomplishments.

Number Four: If you want to respond to independent knowledge as established by non-partisian research (ie., the links I have posted) then you should do so "in-kind." To do so with "opinion" merely demonstrates ignorance and is ultimately "Kool-Aid."

          Just the facts please.

    • Posted By: Dansterpower @ 06/20/2008 3:35:00 PM

I am happy to try to prove it with the current non-biased facts on hand to date:

      Start Here:

      http://usbudgetwatch.org/taxonomy/term/7?page=1

"The Tax Policy Center published a detailed analysis of the Obama and McCain tax plans today. According to their analysis, Obama's tax policies would increase the national debt by $3.3 trillion over 10 years while McCain's would increase it by $4.5 trillion over that period."

I am not satisfied with Either McCain's or Obama's Plans.

It is time for America to wake up and insist on Real, Difficult Change based in Sacrifice and Hard work, not hand-outs, special interest entitlement, and truth to the American People, not rhetoric and flip-flopping which both candidates have now demonstrated their expertise in.

Here is more info about the Tax Policy Center:

Here you can find a detailed analysis of both candidates tax plans:

What a lame article! The election funding law was created to get big money special interests out of the direct channels to a political candidate. It was intended to keep big money from having direct pull with the Oval Office. It was passed in response to the corrupt actions of a Republican - Nixon - (remember..."follow the money"?)

If Obama has found a way to finance his campaign through small contributions AND keep those with direct pull out of his ear, then why should his campaign be funded with government money?

I would think McCain (who says he is for saving the taxpayers money...) would be pleased that Obama is saving us all $37 million. Obama said he wanted to change Washington, and this is the first step. Of course those with a vested interest in the status quo are miffed.

Obama is doing what he promised -- mostly having normal taxpayers pay for his campaign. He just changed the methodology. Three cheers for the change candidate!

Ignorance 101 again by HolyRoller. It saddens me that you can actually have a say in our country's future.

  • Posted By: Nardwilly @ 06/20/2008 3:17:17 PM

The use of lame is prejudiccial for the one point. You never discussed the second point on 527s. 527s can be worse than PACs in the new day of campaigning. Also sources of monaey today are not the same as sources in October.

    • Posted By: duckduckgoose @ 06/20/2008 3:29:01 PM

Please don't be so naive as to think that Obama doesn't have 527s..

      • Posted By: sedonakaren @ 06/20/2008 3:37:50 PM

Moveon.org which is the 527 you are talking about that backs Obama, has disband its 527 operation, and is challenging McCain to do the same. We'll see if McCain is serious about keeping HIS word about wanting a "clean" issues-oriented campaign. So far I haven't seen it. He refuses to tell his surrogates (like that SNAKE Joe Lieberman) to not \add to the Muslim hysteria, and sends his little Barbie-doll wife out to be on GMC, channeling Marylyn Monroe's whispery voice to criticize Michelle Obama, which was totally uncalled for. I think it will all backfire.

        • Posted By: eternity875 @ 06/20/2008 3:53:08 PM

Again, sedonakaren, Cindy McCain said Barack and Michelle Obama were fine people. I don't believe that is a criticism...she also said, when asked by the interviewer, if Michelle Obama's statement offended her and she said no it didn't...she assumed when people spoke they were coming from a different perspective. I believe this is all true...and if you think Moveon will stop and that there aren't others to step right up and join them, then I've got a bridge to sell you.

          • Posted By: sedonakaren @ 06/20/2008 4:08:05 PM

We must be talking about a different Cindy McCain. What she said (unsolicited, I might add), was, "I don't
know WHY she would say a thing like THAT. I've ALWAYS loved MY country!!!!!" Cute.

And ya know what? We don't need Cindy McCain to tell us that Michelle and Barack are fine people. They are OUTSTANDING Americans, and I think you are seeing that in the level of support behing ;them, even in the face of all the hundreds of slimey emails and 24/7 negative news coverage by Fox News.

McCain is trying to rest on his laurels from 40 years ago being a POW. What has he done LATELY?

P.S. There are also over 600 pages of his military records that he doesn't want released. I hear they explain why he never attained the position of "Admiral," like the others in his family who went before him.
Hmmm. Maybe we'll find out more about this in the coming weeks.

            • Posted By: eternity875 @ 06/20/2008 4:17:10 PM

Will that be with the help of the 527's or directly from Obama's campaign funds now that he is opting out of the cap? And if you will watch the entire interview, you will see that she was directly asked by the interviewer if Michelle Obama's remarks about being proud of her country for the first time offended her, so the reply was not an unsolicited remark and you are wrong, yet again.

          • Posted By: sedonakaren @ 06/20/2008 4:11:19 PM

Cindy McCain should have taken a clue from Laura Bush who stood up for Michelle Obama. Laura knows how easy it is to be misunderstood, and Cindy along with her husband contiunue a to float the notion that it could have only meant one thing. That Michelle hates her country. Wait until Cindy says something ambiguous. I hope the media jumps all over her too, if she can't be as gracious as Laura Bush,.

Whatever else can be said about this decision, it is not true that Obama doesn't use campaign bundlers:

Public Citizen relaunched the WhiteHouseForSale website for the 2008 elections.

As of January 9, 2008, Barack Obama had 356 bundlers, including 9 lobbyist bundlers, who have raised $78,915,507. Follow Barack Obama's total funds raised and a list of bundlers and amount raised here.

    • Posted By: Nor-Cal for Obama @ 06/20/2008 3:53:51 PM

There is nothing wrong, nor unethical with bundling! Furthermore, noone has suggested they don't use them. Pac's and Federal lobbyist's do not equate to group donations. LOL.

You people latch on to keywords without understanding what they mean.

      • Posted By: FrogHammer @ 06/20/2008 4:00:46 PM

Um, I know exactly what bundling is, as proven by the facts in my original post, as opposed to your incoherent defense. An earlier poster made the comment that Obama doesn't use bundlers, so it's also not true that "no one says he doesn't use them".

Also, I didn't say there was anything "unethical" about bundling. You chose to make that interpretation. You can have facts and you can have Obama supporters, but apparently you can't have them both at the same time in the same place.

        • Posted By: Nor-Cal for Obama @ 06/20/2008 4:17:01 PM

So someone ON THIS BOARD says it, and you tie it in to the Obama Camp?

We are done right about there. Funny that you REPLIED to my incoherent post. See how you sort of revert into personal insult at the end? That's really something you need to work on. But the problem is you have no viable point to make.

  • Posted By: LAinPA @ 06/20/2008 4:16:42 PM

This just goes to show that the one with the most money wins! So much for campaign finance reform, something the voters never really asked for. i don't think it was in too many people's top ten list of issues to resolve. Just think what problems could have been solved with all the money wasted on this presidential election. We should go to a one day primary just like the general election. Let's take most of the money out of the process by giving a set of issues for the candidates to respond on then post their responses on the internet and in the press, side by side. The voter can make an educated decision..
