This Newsweek bounce is a NOBOUNCE! It was rigged to give an artificial sense that Obama is gaining when he is not. Even Newsweek BFF MSNBC had to say yesterday that..."the newsweek poll is an out liar!". They also added that the certainly of the lying poll will be apparent if additional polls show the prior consistent gap. The certainty is in folks....two recent polls showed Obama and Mccain at a 4 and 2 points gap....statistically tied.

As to the changing of position arguments.....1) a smart politician changes positions based on the reality of today in order to serve the people appropriately...like no tax hike because the economy sucks right now! Like drill now drill here because gas is almost at $5/gallon and foreign oil is putting us at security risks.

On the other hand....Obama's changing of positions are due to ....1) I promise I will stick with public financing reform....oops, I changed my mind...I rather win instead cuz I got 300 million in the bank and I can buy this election out right. 2) I am against NAFTA so vote for me.....but yet he quickly sent his people to the canadian government to explain that it was all just political posturing...aka, lie for votes 3) I am with Israel on retaining Jerusalum....2 days later, well, maybe not. 4) outside groups supporting me with attack ads are discouraged.........however, the latest ad implying Mccain will take babies to war...well, that's ok. 5) We need diplomacy aka, communicate with our adversaries and friends.....yet, I will withdraw from Iraq no matter what the condition is and I will not talk to our commanders on the ground or visit to gauge the situation...because I will not change my mind for any reasons....huh?

Folks, there is a big difference between changing one's positions for the good of the people and changing ones position for the good of ones self and political ambition.

Vote character and integrity back into the whitehouse. Vote Mccain President 2008!

If McCain's military record is sealed, it is probably for the Same reason the Michelle Obama's anti-white thesis is sealed until the day After the election.

Reason why there will be a slow bounce is McCain's inconsistency. Do republicans even really know this guy

* McCain used to oppose Bush???s tax cuts for the very wealthy, but he supports it.

* In 2005 he said that he opposed the tax cuts because they were ???too tilted to the wealthy.??? By 2007, he denied ever having said this, and insisted he opposed the cuts because of increased government spending.

* McCain strongly opposes a windfall-tax on oil company profits. Three weeks earlier, he was perfectly comfortable with the idea.

* McCain supported the drilling moratorium; now he???s against it.

* McCain thought Bush???s warrantless-wiretap program circumvented the law; now he believes the opposite.

* McCain was against privatizing social security. Now he is for it.

* McCain wanted to change the Republican Party platform to protect abortion rights in cases of rape and incest. Now he doesn???t.

* McCain thought the estate tax was perfectly fair. Now he believes the opposite.

* He opposed indefinite detention of terrorist suspects. When the Supreme Court reached the same conclusion, he called it ???one of the worst decisions in the history of this country.???

* McCain believes the telecoms should be forced to explain their role in the administration???s warrantless surveillance program as a condition for retroactive immunity. He used to believe the opposite.

* McCain supported storing spent nuclear fuel at Yucca Mountain in Nevada. Now he believes the opposite.

* McCain believed the U.S. should engage in diplomacy with Hamas. Now he believes the opposite.

* He wanted political support from radical televangelists like John Hagee and Rod Parsley. Now he doesn???t.

* McCain said before the war in Iraq, ???We will win this conflict. We will win it easily.??? Four years later, McCain said he knew all along that the war in Iraq war was ???probably going to be long and hard and tough.???

* McCain said he was the ???greatest critic??? of Rumsfeld???s failed Iraq policy. In December 2003, McCain praised the same strategy as ???a mission accomplished.??? In March 2004, he said, ???I???m confident we???re on the right course.??? In December 2005, he said, ???Overall, I think a year from now, we will have made a fair amount of progress if we stay the course.???

* McCain went from saying he would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade to saying the exact opposite.

* McCain went from saying gay marriage should be allowed, to saying gay marriage shouldn???t be allowed.

* McCain criticized TV preacher Jerry Falwell as ???an agent of intolerance??? in 2002, but then decided to cozy up to the man who said Americans ???deserved??? the 9/11 attacks.

I just found out the McCain's, who have Mega Money. have over $200,000 on credit cards, paying over 25% interest on it. Obama has over $200,000 in his children's educational fund. This was told to me by an Evangelical Christian. To him, today, "Family Values" is how things are going with his kid, not a catch phrase that gets his knee jerk vote. People have seen such depth of discussion in the primary they are not being moved by things that can be explained by simple explanations. And assuming that you can predict people by what demographic they fall into just doesn't reflect the thinking of the actual people I am running into.

John McCain is So much More than a politician. It will be Refreshing to have a man like McCain serving as our president:

Citron16, I see from several of your posts that one of the main issues you have with Obama is that you believe him to be a Muslim. If he was, why would that be so bad for you? My pundit's prediction: Obama will win the election in November. McCain has a few things going for him, but generally, he doesn't stand a chance with today's general mood across the land after eight years of Bush. Sorry, folks, but Obama will be it.
