Dude, it's hilarious that you just accused President Obama as a secret Muslim and an extreme Christian in back to back sentences.

McCain may be as old as the hills but so is the politics of Barack Obama...what happened to the "new" politics that he so eloquently spoke about....just words I guess. Pity Hillary dropped out now we are stuck with these two...one an old Republican Bush clone , the other a self-loving(check out his "O" presidential fake seal-lol!) phony. His opinion of himself is quite high, especially having done so little and with hardly any experience. He has already out right lied about the tax payer funded election funds...at least McCain is honest While Obama's policies are better than McCain's..I have a problem with Obama's hypocrisy..

Gee Huachuca, since when are we to believe all the evil spuded out by the haters of truth. Did you really believe all this garbage you are sending out. Truly has it way of comming to the forfront. Are we to believe you are not gossiping and spreading rumors you can't verify. Yes, Obama has only been in the Senate long enough to see had bought and paid for the Votes are in our Senate. That is why I understand why Big Money wants Obama to be lied about. McCain represents and sleeps with Big Money, while Obama sleeps with a wife from the poor side of town.
Republicians believe if you give the help to the Big Business they will create JOBS for the Lower Classes -----(Medium, and Poor.)-- Money will just trickle down.
Democrates believe help the Medium and Poor classes and the money will be spent and the Big Business -----will prosper..
Bush has truly been Big Business Golden Boy (lying , streaching the truth, and buying with taxpayer money the war machine he wanted.) Now, how do you hope to keep this county above drowning in debt if we keep giving help to Big Business so they can take their profits over seas while our countrymen become slaves to the Banking Business to servive.

    Is Newsweek affiliated with msnbc?
If so, that explains its total lack of objectivity in reporting the news, and its statistically flawed survey methods..

    • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/21/2008 5:51:55 PM

      And those flaws are?

      • Posted By: Davole @ 06/21/2008 9:07:18 PM

Choosing a statistical sample which is irrationally heavily skewed by the number of democrat respondents, with more independents than Republicans added to the mix. Comprende?

        • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/22/2008 2:27:01 AM

Based on what - your opinion? Here is the sample information on the poll:

          Sample Size (N) = 1010 Adults (18+)
          Margin of Error = +/- 4
          Interviewing Dates = 06/18/08 to 06/19/08
          Registered Voters = 896

Data are weighted so that sample demographics match Census Current Population Survey parameters for gender, age, education, race, region, and population density.

Did you happen to notice that political party affiliation was not a criteria for the sample selection? In layman's terms, this means you're an idiot.

          Comprende?

WillNotVote, I just love it when you set yourself up to be schooled. You give a web address for the Obama's page on the Senate.gov website. Each Senator sets up their own pages there. You have directed the reader to Obama's page where he prints, for the world to see, his voting record on every bill that comes before the Senate. Here is that address:

    http://obama.senate.gov/votes/index.cfm?start=1

You sent the reader to this page because it shows that Obama did not vote on many of the recent bills, and you want to make it look like Obama is asleep on the job. It must be mentioned, however, that Clinton, McCain and Obama have all missed many votes during the campaign season. However, if the reader will take the trouble to page through Obama's voting record, they will see that Obama has been present for all of the important votes. Obama has been present and voted on 62 of the 154 bills before Congress in the current session beginning January 2008. Clinton has voted on 56 of these 154 bills. And McCain, who had already won the primary and didn't have to start campaigning against Obama until three weeks ago, McCain voted on only 33 of 154 bills.

As I have exposed in one of my earlier blogs, McCain missed more than half of his votes, even before he started running for President. In the First Session of the 110th Congress (2007), McCain missed a whopping 56% of his votes. McCain doesn't want you to know this, so when you go to his Senate web page, there is no tab to click to see his voting record (http://mccain.senate.gov). An American who wants to know how McCain votes has to look it up on the Library of Congress website (not user friendly) or go to the Washington Post website:

    http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/members/m000303/votes/

While you are there, pay special attention to McCain's votes on March 13 and 14, 2008. On those days we know he was present, because he voted on 22 bills. But he refused to vote on 22 other bills. He failed to vote on bills concerning border security, alien removal and English in the workplace, even though he has set himself up as the candidate who wants immigration reform favorable to Hispanics. He also failed to vote on the bills regarding efficient energy production, even though he claims to be in favor of this. He must not be very much in favor of efficient energy and immigration reform since her refused to vote even though he was present. As for Obama and Clinton, they were both present those days, and they both voted on all 44 bills.

McCain knows that public perception is all that matters, so he gives a news conference and says he supports certain issues, even though he refuses to vote in favor of them. He knows that most Americans never take the time to look up his voting record, and he makes sure that his Senate web page doesn't include this information.

I find it ironic that your blogger name is "WillNotVote." Did you get that name from John McCain?

OBAMA will prevail. Charismatic democrats do win over tele-prompter challenged republicans. Just look back to the bill Clinton campaign. You guys are all hillarious by the way. It makes for a very funny read! Especially the anti-Barack people. I wonder where you come up with some of these false fantasies, they are very imaginative!

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/21/2008 9:46:34 PM

Obama really is THROWN FOR A LOOP when he does not have a working teleprompter in front of him. You would think he would have a backup like note cards (especially given he was talking about issues and his solutions, not inspirational talk in this speech) to smoothly continue should the prompter poop out. Kind of felt bad for him:

The DNC and Hussein Obama, have put themselves in another corner. Planning high gasoline prices, to anger voters to vote Dem., and opposing drilling as an answer, has left many wondering. What's up with that? Don't believe me? Check Rassmussen. They are a little more credible than the latest NewsWeak poll........AND this was BEFORE Sen McCain announced, his support.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Email to a FriendAdvertisement
Most voters favor the resumption of offshore drilling in the United States and expect it to lower prices at the pump, even as John McCain has announced his support for states that want to explore for oil and gas off their coasts.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey???conducted before McCain announced his intentions on the issue--finds that 67% of voters believe that drilling should be allowed off the coasts of California, Florida and other states. Only 18% disagree and 15% are undecided. Conservative and moderate voters strongly support this approach, while liberals are more evenly divided (46% of liberals favor drilling, 37% oppose).

    NOBAMA!!!

    • Posted By: Cazador1972 @ 06/21/2008 7:46:11 PM

Funny, when Clinton left the White house gas was $1.10 a gallon. Now it is $4.50 and THESE IDIOTS STILL BLAME IT ON THE DEMS! Bush is an oil man, he's contributing to this. If he is so concerned about prices, why doesn't he open the emergency national reserve? After all, that oil is available right now and not in 10 years when the oil from new oil drilling would be available!

Bush made your gas expensive. His friends get richer while you pay more. And you still defend him?! : D

      • Posted By: Davole @ 06/22/2008 12:35:13 AM

Cazador1972 - When Clinton left the White House, he had ensured that oil exploration and drilling would be curtailed, thereby guaranteeing that an oil shortage and crisis would ensue several years later.

Throughout most of George Bush's 2 terms, and even despite the war against terror being fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, the price of oil remained relatively affordable.

But as soon as the democrats gained control of Congress in 2006, the price of oil began to skyrocket, and the economy headed "south". Was that a mere coincidence, or was it a direct result of the irresponsibe spiteful House and Senate abdicating their responsibilities, and instead engaging in perpetual daily personal attacks against the President?

What answer does Barack (we can't mention his middle name) Obama propose? If memory serves me correctly, it is to confiscate the profits of the oil companies, and to nationalize the oil industry - great shades of Cuba and Venezuela. Are those 2 countries the source of the democrat party's ideas and talking points? That party has discarded any democratic principles which it may have once had, and is attempting to foist a socialistic regime on the American public. and economy. If democrats have their way, it would be summarized as - Good bye capitalism!

Now, if any statements which I have made are false or innacurate, please bring them forth. Hopefully you will live and learn!

On Election day it boils down to strength of Organization and who can get thier people out to vote on Eklection day. The downside of a large lead is you could get complacent.

The Democrats should not look down on Republicans for at leas two reasons:
    1) The strength of any political party should be on quality of their ideas not on trashing the GOP.
Though I am Republican I have no desire to see either party not living up o thier potential.
I am a Union member and I see a lot of dissatisfaction of the working class even with the Democratic Party and some of them may stay home in November.

    2) I believe neither candidate will have a clear mandate after election and alienate Republican voters may handcuff Obama"s albilty to govern.

I am committed to praying for the winner and looking forward to reaching out and helping solve America's challenges.

Let's attack the challenges instead of them attacking us. America has a strong legacy of overcoming.

    • Posted By: Cazador1972 @ 06/21/2008 10:14:29 PM

      Rick,

Where exactly is "home" for the working class? Last time I checked, the number of poor people have grown and so has the number of uninsured while the rich are getting richer. Surely, by "home" you do not mean the GOP.

The numbers will fluctuate from now until November but God willing Obama will have a clear upper hand. The polling is leaving out a number of people, usually younger who do not have land lines (polling only includes land lines) and those younger people tend to be Obama voters. The lead is actually more than 15%.

If Bush could claim a mandate in '04 by having won by 3 million votes, Obama iwould be entitled to the same.

      • Posted By: Rick43 @ 06/21/2008 11:02:02 PM

I believe the working class are divided by several factors including rae and religion. I agree that this does not translate into votes for the GOP. I stated to the Gop in the past that they need to reach out and discuss oplenly our concerns with thier image.

they economy is changing and the challenge for unions is relating better with the younger generation who are the future. Manufacturing jobs are dissapearing and something needs to repair them.

The hope for the working class is our character and compassion . My hope is not concerned with the super rich But I am called to do what I can.

I became Republican because of Ronald Reagan because of his optimism and character.

working Men and Women built this country and we will do so again. Our legacy is we don't quit despite the circumstances and we have faith in each other and our country.

The Democratic and Republican Party don't need to be at odds with each other all the time.

I endorse conservative beliefs in my working life and the reason I have a good relationship with Democrats is tht they see that I believe in them and and that they can count on me.

I be happy to elaborate more on this. Writing is not my strong suit and I am happy to clarify my views if needed.

OBAMAS NEW CAMPAIGN SEAL buried on this site: http://www.newsweek.com/id/142485

EXCERPT below is from full article http://michellemalkin.com/2008/06/21/the-obamessiahs-deep-humility-shines-through-in-his-new-seal/

Some bloggers have postulated that it is too close to the existing Presidential seal, and therefore violates federal law. I don???t think that???s true; examining the Obama seal at high resolution reveals several differences:

    I. Latin motto changed to VERO POSSUMUS, which is Latin for Si, se puede!

II. Close examination reveals Obamas seal contains 57 stars

III. Eagles left wing is much stronger

IV. The arrows in the eagles claw have Nerf tips

    V. That???s not an olive branch, but actually arugula in the other claw

VI. There is no snake in the Obama eagles beak. It was thrown under the bus. It was not the snake that Obamas eagle knew these many years.

Along with hawking his faux-leather bound historic speeches, adapting the presidential seal is not exactly enhancing the Obamas reputation for HUMILITY, is it?

It's just in bad taste to reface a national seal like that. Very poor taste. I also heard he was on some late-night show joking about how the first thing he'd do in the White House is rip up the historical bowling alley and replace it with a basketball court. I didn't watch it, so I don't know if he was joking or not. I hope he's not serious. With people struggling to pay bills, he's looking forward to doing remodeling?

Pretty elitist action on Obamas part, no?

I don't know if that would fall under the term elitist...perhaps plagiarism...LOL :-)

I saw the same thing...CNN has a full article too about that seal....I thought I heard on CNN news this afternoon that a similar seal was being used on the campaign trail before this became a news item...
