    Still a bunch of sheep in here who believe the anti-Obama propaganda rumors and lies put forth by the GOP, redneck racists, and right wing nut christian extremists. I love how they think they are making a point by using Iraqs middle name "Hussein" in their posts. lol. More scare tactics that won't work on intelligent and rational people. I'm patriotic and for our people/country. not our government and big money families and corporations/CEO's. Michelle Obama is partially right, life in America could be better for a lot of people and we should always strive to improve it. We are not perfect. Any true patriot will recognize the problems the US has and speak out/try to correct them. We do have a lot of "mean" people and politicians here(McSame) We let the Bush Admin./GOP guide us with their fear tactics the last 7 1/2 years. We are one of the worlds top consumers as a nation and we don't do enough to help ourselves. Too many sheep and not enough doers/leaders. McCain likes to come across as patriotic and a war hero. He was one of the last in his class(low intellligence) and was shot down twice on his first missions(incompetent). He is just not the right person to lead our nation. You don't want to look past thr fact he is a white man and a so called war "hero".

      I'm an independent for Obama and I'm half white and half Hispanic/Native Amer.
      I recognize that racism is still alive and kicking in the US today.(even if only subconciously in certain people)

          And I don't go to an organized christian church. I don't need a middle man in between me and God or someone on a pulpit telling me how to live and worship "Him". Most "christian" organizations act very un-Christlike and are always attacking others and their beliefs(thruout history), maybe even more so than Muslims.

    This poll is total nonsense and bogus. Newsweek is a leftis magazine with an open agenda of getting obama elected. They will try to build him up, even if the guy is a total empty scull when he does not have a teleprompter in front of him. Next to him W. is an excellent orator.
    Anyway, I am supposed t believe, that based on a sample of 1,000 voters out of 110,000,000 (based on the last election), i.e. average of 20 respondents per state, this is a reliable poll with a small margin of error. Give me a break. I may not be an expert on statistics, but I know that sample that small is so insignificant that you can't base anything on it. I can flip a coin 20 times and get 18 heads. This poll is nothing but an attempt to dissuade people from voting for McCAin because he supposedly cannot win. How predictable of Newsweek . Next time you see a poll, think about the uderlying premise.

    Obama has a new t.v. ad he is pretending to have family values!! It shows him with his mom when he was little and it also shows him with his Grandparents, and he talks how they raised him and taught him family values!! It is such a joke!!! Truth is his mom took Obma to live with his grandparents when he was about 9 years old. His grandparents then raised him in Hawaii. This is the same grandmother he called 'a typical white women" His mom when she was dying a few years ago Obama never even went to see her before she died!!! And Obama wants to talk about family values!!!! More B.S. from Obama!!! Also in this t.v. ad he talks about moving to Chicago and all the good thins he did here, I live in Chicago and I can tell you one good thing he did. Obama and some others decided to rehabe some buildings for poor people to live in, this was state funded, when the work was done the poor people moved in but they could not stay long and had to find others places to live because of the carpy work that had been done in these buildings everything was falling apart. He also talks about the familys he helped after loosing their jobs at the steel mills. The stell mills are in Indiana not Chicago!!!! Obama is nothing but a JOKE!!!!!!! NOOBAMA!!!!!

I'd say from your post first -off you lose your audience since I would say simply, you don't seem to have any "Family Values" yourself. I know first rule I got at home was "only the people in the Family really know what's goin' on, so don't judge, be compassionate." I didn't take care of my mom when she died, since she abused me when I was young and I actually lived mostly on my own or with my Grandparents from the time I was 14 yrs old. Maybe Obama wishes he had a better mom, and wanted to include her as part of his life, and his understanding of "Family Values" instead of saying she maybe wasn't so hot at the job which is why he lived with his Grandparents? Wouldn't that actually be "Family Values", having the ability to forgive people's shortcomings, and all? Accepting them for what they are capable of? Again, not Judging situations you/He could never truly know about? Like what his mom was going through, why she did what she did, the effect it had on him. The money that he has been able to receive from internet donation may well be from terrorist organizations. Who is looking into the account of the people that are donating?     Readers, be informed, and beware! Sam Bodman, US Energy Secretary, is a Bush appointed Yes-man. Bodman states that insufficient production is making oil prices soar. Bush wants you to think that the OPEC countries are responsible for high oil prices, but the truth is, OPEC has been significantly increasing production over the past several months. Where is all that oil going? It's being stockpiled by US investment banks, who are creating a fake shortage to drive up the price. Congress has already started to investigate this criminal practice. Bush, who has deregulated the banking industry, tries to blame it on OPEC. By now you should be familiar with Bush's MO: he says you should be very afraid of Muslims. But who you should really be afraid of are investment bankers at Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers. Check this out:

    Michael Masters of Master Capital Management (a global investment manager) testified before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Government Affairs a couple of weeks ago. Quotes from his testimony:

    "Today, Index Speculators are pouring billions of dollars into the commodities futures markets, speculating that commodity prices will increase. In the popular press the explanation given for rising oil prices is the increased demand from China. According to the DOE, China's demand for petroleum has increased in the last five years from 1.88 billion barrels to 2.8 billion barrels, an increase of 920 billion barrels. Over the same five year period, Index Speculators' demand for petroleum futures has increased by 848 million barrels. THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FROM INDEX SPECULATORS IS ALMOST EQUAL TO THE INCREASE IN DEMAND FROM CHINA. Index Speculators have now stockpiled, via the futures market, the equivalent of 1.1 billion barrels of petroleum, effectively adding EIGHT TIMES as much oil to their own stockpile as the US Government has added to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve over the last five years."

    "The Senate has asked the question "Are Institutional Investors contributing to food and energy price inflation?" And my unequivocal answer is "YES." In this testimony I will explain that investment banks are one of, if not the primary, factors affecting commodities prices today. Clearly, there are many factors that contribute to price determination in the commodities markets; I am here to expose a fast-growing yet virtually unnoticed factor, and one that presents a problem that can be expediently corrected through legislative policy action..."

    The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission is ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. They're supposed to be protecting us from these kinds of abuses, but Bush allowed loopholes in the CFTC regulations that you can drive a truck through. An oil truck, that is.

      Firstly, Obama is AGAINST Socialism, and in his book Audacity of Hope he discusses how both Communism and Soicalism have failed as political systems. Obama is all about Democracy and upholding the Constitution, about making America strong and great and independent again.

      Obama's economic and social programs are extremely DIFFERENT from the past social programs of the "tax and spend" Democrats. Obama's education program, for instance, has an economic goal in mind. He wants to train thousands of scientists and engineers so that we can compete in the information technology, research and development world markets. It is obvious that we can no longer compete with manufacturing and heavy industry -- China, India, Mexico and Brazil have knocked us out of the box on that one, for good. Obama wants America to come up with the best alternative energy technology on the planet and thereby free us of our dependency on oil. Furthermore, when the oil runs out, we will have all the energy technology, and will be selling energy to the OPEC countries, instead of vice versa. Obama's education plans aren't so your kids can make art projects on the taxpayer's dime. This is real planning on how to strengthen America. INVEST IN OUR PEOPLE rather than give tax breaks to corporations that ship our jobs overseas. INVEST IN OUR PEOPLE AND SOLVE OUR ENERGY SUPPLY PROBLEMS.

      That's not Socialism, that's Capitalism applied with good common sense.

Obama's tax policies are targeted to give overwhelming majority of the middle class a 'real' tax break. That is something the current administration has failed to do because their focus has been on its filthy rich, corporate friends. Do you even know the name of Bush's Economic Czar? No, you don't know. Name me three members of Bush's Economic Policy team. Can't name any? I didn???t think so. Where were you when the current VP was playing hide-and-seek with GAO on matters related to the nation's energy policies.     Rezko: Judge releases hold on 27 properties;keeps some Rezko money
    U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve partially released the $8.5 million in property and cash that once secured Tony Rezko's bond. She ordered that about $100,000 in cash be left behind after prosecutors sought a restraining order on the money to fulfill forfeiture they will seek in the future.

    Rezko surrendered to jail upon his conviction last week, releasing liens held against 27 properties posted by friends and family members supporting the North Shore businessman. Rezko, a former fund-raiser for Gov. Blagojevich and U.S. SENATOR BARACK OBAMA, is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 3.

    As has already been commented this must mean McCain is ahead as Newsweek is know for its let wing propaganda. It is a shame when media like this tries to influence public opionion by such propaganda. I think the slogan for all educated, thinking Americans on Obama is this. "Obamaites-High on Emotion, Low on Thought!" After all, no serious American can truly believe a man with little experience, promoting Anti American policies such as such hostility to business (which creates jobs for workign Americans) and pulling out of Iraq when we are doing well, and a fundemental misunderstanding of the constitution could honestly be President. I will certainly believe someone who has been there recently over someone who has not. Where is my proof of Obama's anti american policies? Well, Iraq is one but even more so he has no understanding of business and true economics.             Do i like this war? I don't like any war but also like a responsible adult I understand necessity is more important then what I like. There are many things I don???t like (like going to the dentist or taxes) but I go to the dentist and I pay my taxes. Tax for the general health and welfare of the U.S. are necessity, not for redistributing wealth from one citizen to the other or for paying for pet projects of our elected representatives. A Tax increase is not necessary to pay for this war. What is necessary is cutting expenditures, such as subsidies to failed energy policies such as those who produce the uneconomical e85.

    A) It does not surprise me ONE BIT that Obama is 15 points over, since disaffected Clinton voters are now flocking to him and Obama's white heritage (WWII veteran grandfather, raised by white grandparents in Kansas) gets more and more air time in the Mid West.

    B) McCain has not decided whether he is pro-Bush or anti-Bush, which hasn't helped him one little bit. His recent flip-flaps about oil drilling, tax cuts for the rich and belated love for the environment are too transparent.

    C) This gap is likely to close some come election time, especially if Bush begins to scare people with a new round of alerts.

    D) "Sen. John Kerry and Vice President Al Gore, who both failed in their bids to win the White House." It's wrong. Gore WON!

                    There may have been mistakes made after World War I but the simple fact is if we stood up for what is right when Hitler started his aggression on other countries millions of people would not have died in World War II. Humans make mistakes and must live with them but a refusal to action based on misguided ideology can only compound mistakes and this is what led to World War II. One can make the same argument with Iraq. Whatever your belief into the justification of going into Iraq only a moron would believe it is wise to leave Iraq now when things are going so well and our economic and political interests are tied to a stable Middle East.

          I detest war. As a matter of fact I believe strongly in intercultural understanding and have been a long time volunteer for AFS Intercultural Programs. I have also never made a dime off of war nor would want to. I am an adult though and understand if you lay your head down in the face of great evil it will be chopped off. One has to be agressive at times to truly keep peace. I would read your history as we have our freedoms because Americans died for them , from the Revolutionary war, to the Civil War to both World Wars. It is our military and economic strenght that helped us win the cold war. Get a grip on reality. It is people like you that would have had us speaking German had we followed your path to distruction during the World Wars.

      Honey. Whether or not you support Obama, your history is flawed. WWI was NOT caused by the US. WWII was not caused by the US. The Korean and Cold Wars --at the very least --were joint efforts involving, respectively, China and the Soviet Union.

      Every time Obama hears about remarks like this, it makes him cringe. He is hardly a stupid or poorly educated man.
