    2. THE CRIMINAL MISHANDLING OF HURRICANE KATRINA. A WEEK TO GET DOWN THERE BUT 2 DAYS TO GET TO THE TSUNAMI? HEEELLLO-NEW ORLEANS IS A STATE WHICH MEANS THEY PAY TAXES
Jim F. Response: First of all???. New Orleans is not a state. IT???S A CITY! Mayor Nagan left 1000 buses parked instead of mobilizing them with the absolutely idiot repsonse that he didn???t have enough drivers. For that reason, he didn???t mobilize ANY buses. Bush should have recognized the incompetence of the local leaders and taken over all the buses and made the people get on the bus by gun-point. Then you Bush-haters would have called him Hitler.

MY FAULT-ANYWAY-LOUSIANA IS A STATE AND NEW ORLEANS IS A CITY-THEY BOTH PAY TAXES. STOP WITH THE NAGIN STUFF-GEORGE BUSH IS THE MST POWERFUL PRESIDENT IN OUR HISTORY-SO YOU ACTUALLY THINK A DEMOCRAT GOVERNOR OR MAYOR CAN STOP HIM FROM DOING ANYTHING HE WANTED? HE HAD A UNILATERAL WAR WITH A COUNTRY WHO DID NOTHING TO US.

    1. WE INVADED A COUNTRY FOR NO REASON. COSTING US 4000+ AMERICAN LIVES-HALF UNDER THE AGE OF 24-AND COSTING US 5 BILLION DOLLARS A WEEK.
Jim F. Response: It is well-documented that Saddam had the capability to start production of WMDs within a few weeks time and he had the intentions to maintain that readiness. Saddam Hussein was a murderous dictator responsible for torturing and killing hundreds of thousands, had well-documented ties to terrorism, violated 17 UN Resolutions in addition to the UN Oil-for-Food scandal where he stole billions of dollars (to be used in food and medicine) from his own people, he attacked neighboring countries including Kuwait and Israel, plotted the assassination of a US President, and, his successors, his sons Uday and Qusay, had shown themselves to be no better. There was also an excellent chance that the radical Shiite clerics, with support from Iran, would have made a power play, without a military force like the US in place, after Hussein???s death making the whole region unstable. As a Bush-hater, I???m sure you do not want to acknowledge these facts are.

    • Posted By: sirhc @ 06/21/2008 6:42:26 PM

WAS HE RESPONSIBLE FOR 911? DID HE HAVE ANY WMD'S? DID HE HAVE ANY CONNECTION WITH BIN LADEN OR AL QUEDA? WAS HE EVEN IN THE TOP 5 OF RUTHLESS PRESENT DAY DICTATORS? .........WHAT.......NO TO ALL?!!!

Has anyone here heard of the Keating 7? McCain was one of the seven. That doesn't vouch much for his trustworthiness and credibility.
While Bush and his cronies (most of whom came from the oil industry) have been in office, big oil has made record profits. What a coincidence! I shudder to think what the cost of beer will be if McCain should become President.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 06/21/2008 2:05:55 PM

With the demand so high on beer to keep you idiots drunk and voting for an Obamination . I would imagine it goes down after the election anyway. No worries, stop the fear mongering.

Hey I just took a poll in my work place also. Seems contrary to the Newsweek poll, McCain is favored a whooping 90% to 10% for Obama. If Newsweeks poll is considered legit, so is my own. Newbreak, Obama is getting trounced by McCain according to my survey

    • Posted By: Rigwright @ 06/21/2008 2:21:24 PM

You should learn proper grammar and spelling. It would give your ridiculous posts a chance of being taken seriously.

I don't think prison counts as a workplace - especially when you lost your right to vote after your first felony. I am sure it was secret poll, with you and your buddies running around in your white, pointy, hoods.

    • Posted By: marksgershenson @ 06/21/2008 5:20:02 PM

You hold a job, amazing, with your commentary I wondered even know how poles are conducted....

    • Posted By: sebr01stl @ 06/21/2008 2:22:29 PM

So, your survey (if real) from only your co-workers, with questions asked from your biased slant (as obvious from your posts), no pollster or reporter, against a national magazine, taking a slice out if the country randomly, has weight because?....Face it, Sporty, the Newsweek poll was a random slice of U.S. society, albeit small, representative statiscally of both parties and Indies (there are actually more Americans registered as Dems than Repubs, and even less as Independent, as a whole (though that hasn't stopped Repubs from being in Office), so why should there be equal numbers of both groups in the polls? And the numbers show a statistical lead for the Dem candidate, no margin of error, in that it takes other national polls into consideration. So much for the liberal poll charges. Come up with something substantive, that includes HONEST negatives from BOTH contenders (not based on race, age, or unsubstantiated e-mail hoaxes/smears, if you can, that shows why there should be anything other than a statistical tie, or a substantial lead for McCain, as opposed to this lead for Obama (unless you don't think McCain HAS any negatives; and, if that's the case, then we know to disregard your posts accordingly).

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 06/21/2008 3:11:47 PM

Negatives? I'll list one huge negative that applies to both candidates. THEY ARE BOTH POLITICIANS!!!!!!!
Definition of politician? Crook, scumbag, liar, cheater, etc However, Obama has done the one thing most repulsive out of the two. He tries to act like he is not a politician. The biggest lie of all swallowed by the truely gullible. Enjoy your meal, I would suggest an anti depression medication for after the election

I think you are confusing rigwright's mother with your sister ... or maybe your own mother. And it is only tailgating when the car can actually move, having it sitting on blocks in your front yard doesn't count. Your familarity with pool cleaning must come from the fact that it must be done immediately after any time you jump into one you dirty bigot. Go home.

        • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 06/21/2008 6:08:40 PM

Feebleminded is defined by Republican's as those you actually think for themselves. The Republican party has become a refuge for the arrogant and intolerant. Wasn't always that way - you can thank Bush for that. It's also the reason Obama is going to win in November.

  • Posted By: denmill @ 06/21/2008 5:31:55 PM

Polls do not mean anything. It is another liberal tactics to play in people minds. Have anyone of you been asked any questions about Barack Hussein Obama or MCain? The answer is NO!!!! So give me a brake! I have many White friends that toll me that they are not even being frank to other people when talking about how they are going to vote for fear of being accused of "racist" and I have Black friends that are not being frank to other black friends or to family members when talking about why they are not going to vote for Obama for fear of being accused of treason toward their black heritage. It should not be that way, because voting is a very private matter, we do not vote for a candidate just because he is "Black". Thus, don't be fouled by polls, wait for November and Obama will have the shock of his life. We all know that Cindy and John MCain loves this country for than Michelle and Barack Hussein Obama no matter how hard the Obama's are trying to soften their image . Just like Jeremiah Wright said: " Barack is a politician and will do and say anything to get elected". We know the trick and that why our private final choice will be "John MCain" . I mean "private" , because nobody will try to make us feel guilty for making the right choice. We have nothing to prove. We will not be tricked by the leftists and America haters in Hollywood and in the media either! These people have power because we are willing to pay for their movies and newspapers and cable TVs. The minute we stop spending, their will be toasted. These people think that european are better than us average americans and put their pocket books above America. We will not put Barack Hussein Obama (the darling of the leftists america haters) in the White House just to prove a point that we are not racist. Nobody will make us feel guilty for voting for the man that has given so much to America (John MCain) just because the other candidate (Barack Hussein obama) happens to be black. There is no Affirmative of Action when it comes to the Presidency !!!!.

Not all change is good my friend! There is a french adage that says You run for for rain and end up in a hale storm" That is what I think the Obama change will bring to us. Increase of the national debt because of increase spendings (more entitlement, more money for welfare recipients); do not forget the "new retribution amendment to the Constitution (African Americans to be paid reparations for slavery); less jobs because companies will fled to Mexico, China, India (due to increase taxes to pay for welfare), big goverment (more policing) because the government has to control everything; less jobs in the service industry because all the illegal aliens will get green card; by the way legalization of illegal drugs because Obama has to reward the MTV and crackhead voting crowd; more crimes (because the illegal aliens, and the crackheads have to make a way of living; increase mortality due to lack of quality healthcare because socialization of health care by Obama ( remember that the rich leftist from NYU will still be able to pay to continue private medical doctors at Columbia medical Center or Cornell Hospital out of pocket); Do we want more change Obama style!!!!!

And what has McCaint done beside siding with Bush 91% of the time?

      • Posted By: Minnesotaman @ 06/21/2008 6:11:52 PM

He has honesty and integrity shown by his long history of not only opposing earmarks, not taking them himself (unlike Obama). McCain also has a long history of working with the other side, unlike Obama. As much as I do not like some of the "reaching to the other side of the Aisle" he has done, I respect McCain for doing what is right in his heart and taking political risk (unlike Obama who is all words and no substance to back them up).

    • Posted By: nopartyaffiliation123 @ 06/21/2008 5:00:54 PM

Jose, be careful what you wish for. Elect McCaint and watch this economy falter even further. Mexico won't take you back!

This election won't be even close. i just wish Obama uses his money to help flood victims because he won't need it. It will be difficult for McCain to win his own state. They can't stand him there.
McCaint supporters, good luck, America won't be fooled this time and no amount of swiftboating will do it this time...

        • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 06/21/2008 3:43:10 PM

yeah, but somebody that agreed with him 91% of the time is running. Now that's an example of a factual statement.

            • Posted By: drunicusrex @ 06/21/2008 4:29:50 PM

I'm a bit fuzzy on what Senator Obama's done besides make speeches, write books, forget his necktie, and hang out with black separatists.
And raising taxes to hire more useless bureaucrats will only benefit the bureaucrats. Simply stealing from one group to enrich another does nothing but hurt everyone, economically.
Or has HUD, AFDC, Medicaid, the IRS, and all those freebies helped our economy? Bush expanded them greatly, with Medicare drugs for seniors - and it didn't help. The Rust Belt, despite extensive layers of governments, high taxes, and heavy regulatory burdens, is still suffering tremendously.
Socialist Europe has double digit unemployment and soaring prices as well.
And all of these policies resemble what Obama wants.
Perhaps Newsweek conducted this poll on a workday? And the only ones who answered were the unemployed and the "swing shift?" That'd be my guess.
              -A working American for McCain.

Lissen Bro, maybe there doesn't need to be any taxes raised...My bet is switching off the war might actually help this country econimically, against the old conventional wisdom that war is good for the economy? Whose economy? Honestly not ours our our county's infrastructure generally. There is trickle down from Fed to state y'know, and right now as more underinspected Levees fail, Bridges just fall to the ground, crane's crash from the skies of NY, Katrina still not cleaned-up? The states don't have money to keep up coz the money they get from the fed is turned off....it's in Iraq! So less of everything for us...have any family living near the Mississippi this weekend? That is the truth.

    • Posted By: nopartyaffiliation123 @ 06/21/2008 3:49:37 PM

Citron, you are a hypocrite, you were a Clinton supporter, how do you justify jumping ship? What is it based on? Hate? Bigotry? Anger? McCaint is 100% the polar opposite of Hillary. But it doesn't matter, Obama will win by a landslide.

      • Posted By: citron16 @ 06/21/2008 6:03:24 PM

The DNC have gotten alot of people to jump ship. When they decided to back Obama and not count every vote. The people who voted had nothing to do with Florida and Michigan changing the date of voting, in 2000 the DNC said every vote must be counted, this time they changed the rules. It has nothing to do with hate, bigotry or anger. In an election you choose the better candidate. As of now McCain is the better candidate.

Bush severly damaging most phases of American life and John McCain making utterances that he is willing to do many of the same bone headed mistakes that Bush did origionally it is easy to see Barack Obama having high ratings in the polls. It will take the first two years of the Obama Administration just to begin to untangle the problems that Bush & Company have created.....

The failure of the news media to do their job is the reason an inexperienced, unaccomplished, far-left wing politician is leading in the polls. The corruption must be exposed for the good of the country. As liberals often do, they believe that the end justifies the means. They are liberals first and news reporters second.

I don't understand why this poll is even relevant to the real race for the White House. It was conducted with registered voters, which isn't an accurate potrayal of the real picture. A registered voter poll is more of a "mood poll". A poll conducted with likely voters shows a much more accurate representation of the political landscape. To add, this is a national poll, which is important no doubt, but is also irrelevant. The polls that truly matter a polls that are conducted among likely voters, state-by-state due to the Electoral College. June to November is a lifetime in politics. This race has only truly begun and it will end up being the nastiest, most expensive, and divisive election in the history of the United States. The sad truth to it all, though, is neither man is the right man for the job.

Why would anyone take this poll seriously? A fifteen percent variance in polls across a short period of time in which there is no significant news to justify any movement at all-- this indicates significant flaws in Newsweek's polling methods. Does anyone truly think this result will hold up for a month-- much less to November? Media polling in this country is about writing nonsensical articles rather than illuminating any facts for the public.

      This is the correct answer.

15 points, this is why McCain will withdraw from the race in August and Romney will unsuspend his campaign and carry the only hope the Republicans have for keeping the White House. BTW, he also has a $100M of his own money to blow, so he too does not need to accept public campaign financing

Full disclosure: I'm a conservative who supports Obama.

My point is this: Obama has been well tested in his primary battle with Hillary, and he held up well. McCain has been loafing around on the sidelines, with no significant challenge at all. Obama has offered at least one proof that he can withstand the rigors of the presidency. McCain has not, and given his age, that is a significant issue.

Obama said he could pay for his programs by eliminating the Bush administration???s tax cuts for the wealthy, winding down the Iraq war and spending more on alternative energy programs that eventually will save money.
First, let me simple say just one thing - since I want to really focus on personal income taxes and not corporate taxes. Any confiscatory tax strategy on companies will hurt the economy - especially if oil companies are the ones targeted. Taxes are always passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices. These taxes punish shareholders who invest in oil companies. They will also slow the exploration of oil and the development of new technologies. If Barrack Obama really does care about the ???little guy??? - screwing over Exxon with confiscatory taxing is not the way to reduce prices at the pump.
Now - back to the issue of income taxes. From Barrack Obama???s campaign website:
Sounds good, right? Screw the rich - those idiot rich - with all their gold toliets, and fancy cars, and caviar lifestyle. Take their money away from them??? right! Confiscatory taxes - raise them through the roof on the wealthy - the evil, evil, wealthy. Like that commercial for JG Wentworth - Obama dressed as Uncle Sam is screaming, ???It???s my money??? and I WANT IT NOW!???
Those stupid millionaires, and billionares, like oh - well like Barrack Obama for example - or George Soros - and Bill Gates - or Warren Buffet - those guys will pay lots and lots more??? right! They deserve to pay more - since clearly they ripped us all off to get where they are??? the fat lot of them.
That???s what democrats THINK when they hear Obama speak. Now - that???s the ???smear??? in Obama language. Now let???s talk the truth.

    • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 06/21/2008 3:34:22 PM

The truth is this - the majority of democrats when they talk about the ???wealthy??? - they???re talking about single income earners who make more than $75,000 a year. Basically, they???re talking about an IT guy who has a bachelors degree and about 7 years of experience post school. They???re talking about a paralegal, who has 10 or more years of experience in a law firm. They???re talking about the accountant - who has a few years under his/her belt at a firm. They???re talking about the sales manager of a medium sized firm - who is responsible for a region of the country and several million in sales. They???re talking about the production manager of that company - who???s responsible to see the products get made and delivered.
??? those are the jobs that pay about 75,000 a year. They???re likely the jobs YOU have.
Now, during this speech - Obama threw a curveball - he???s now saying he wants to screw-job those families making $250,000 a year. Sounds like alot of money right - quarter of a million dollars. I mean - these money-grubbing families and their wealty lifestyles??? THEY MUST PAY!
Again - that???s the ???smear???. Let???s talk about the truth.
These families are the double-income, double-professional degreed families. The mother and father both have advanced degrees - on which most of them are paying student loan payments between $500 and $1000 per month to pay off. They send their kids to public school - in all liklihood - except in places like DC area, where the schools are so bad they have to send their kids to private school for their own safety and education. The mother may be a manager, making $120k a year. The father is a professional too - he probably makes about $130K. Perhaps they???re both lawyers??? or doctors. Perhaps they???re home business owners - or small business owners. They???re responsible for payroll - and building businesses.
Oh and let me add this - according to the IRS, Mr. Obama, they???re already responsible

Another Dude missing the pot when he pee's, uuugh!
