White rock n roll stars have been sleeping with white teenage groupies forever and they still enjoy the support of white women. Where is M. Spencer Green's commentary about this unique phenomenon.

Liliana23 hates herself and have self-esteem issues. Probably as a child she/he was called 'ugly','good for nothing' and all the pretty girls ignored her and had everything she wanted so she grew up hating herslef so much that she wished that she was white or another race. Well, hating yourself is not going to change the fact that Mr. Kelly was found NOT GUILTY. It is your choice not to associate with black people but I am sure the feelings are mutual. FYI, black women are more educated than most women of other races so the illiterate comments that you made must be about you. To make this world a better place, why don't you try to be sween and not heard because you are the epitome of ignorance to the highest degree.
"i'll pee on you Baby!"
Please do not think that all Black Women support R Kelly. Iliterate and stupid black women will support him. women in the ghetto will support him because that is how the men treat them and they approve. i am a black woman and I do not even associate with black Americans because I honestly believe they are an embarrassment to the black race. How could any body who is a human being go out to celebrate the rapist. No wonder the woman claimed it wasn't her because I am sure the black American community threatened to kill her if she did because that's how they live. It a shame and as a black woman I have nothing to do with savagery.. They live in a country with so much resources and they spend their lives prostituting themselves, taking drugs and feeding off the system.
I anm black too and find someone like you to be a very sick and vile human being. Not all black people supported R. Kelly being acquitted, but if the alleged victim didn't boyher to face her accuser in court and there was doubt as to who was really on the tape, what the hell was the jury supposed to do? If there is reasonable doubt (and there was),, the jury had to acquit because if they had convicted, the judge would have (and rightfully so) set aside the verdict.
Here is another suggestion, if you don't like yourself becuase you are black either bleach yourself white or get youlsef a white man, assuming one will even be seen in public with you or even want someone as triffling as you,.
Isn't it obvious that Lillian23 is neither female, nor black lol
R. Bellamy
WHAT are you talking about? I read the Young Black and Fabulous blog immediately after the verdict came out and the vast majority of the commenters, including Natasha -- the site's blogger, were outraged and disgusted that he was acquitted. Please get your facts straight -- instead of manipulating the truth for your "story". There are many women and men in the black community who are stumped as to why some blacks appear to blindly support him. But, then again, there are many people -- black , white and other -- who turn a "blind" eye to the sexual abuse of minors and often blame the victim(s). Dysfunctional thinking (or behavior) doesn't just afflict black people.
WAIT A MINUTE. I did not follow the trial closely, but is there solid evidence that R. Kelly is indeed guilty? Because that's the premise behind this entire article. If he's indeed guilty (which you assume) then yes, it's disturbing that people are celebrating his acquittal. IF he's not guilty (as he was found by the jury) there's absolutely nothing wrong with being happy that he's not going to jail. And on balance it makes more sense for people to have hoped he was innocent than to hope he was guilty. If the video shows an adult having sex with a minor, than a crime was committed, and we should ALL root for justice to take place. But that does not equate to hoping R. Kelly goes to jail, and protesting his acquittal (unless of course it was indeed him in the tape, which again, the jury didn't feel so certain about). So the bottom line is unless we KNOW R. Kelly committed the crime, let's not vilify those who are happy he's free making more music.
Terrific post, and spot on. The writer of this article is completely convinced of his guilt, even though neither she, nor I, nor you, nor anyone else knows that for a fact...the jury certainly doesn't know either, and that is why he was acquitted.
I am concerned that the article simply misses the point: Under our system of lawit is the Jury who listens to the evidence presented and then decides guilt or innocence. R. Kelly was found NOT GUILTY- a result that the writer was not willing to accept, and is trying to substitute her decision for that of the jury. One view of the outburst of support at the conclusion of the trial is that many fans did not believe the substance of the charges and were overjoyed that he was vindicated from these terrible charges. Allison Samuels would evidently prefer a system where SHE was judge, jury - and executioner. What is the "message" that is sent wheh the message is more important than process for finding guilt or innocence
You are brain damaged Lilian23, and have some heavy self esteem issues. :-)

I am a Black woman who refuses to buy, watch or listen to R Kelly. I wanted him to be found guilty, so that a message could be sent. I still will not buy, watch or listen as in my mind he single handedly showed Black women how he felt about them. I'm glad it wasn't my young girl he did that to because I would be serving time
For thousands of years men have been sexxing and marrying Lolitas. GOD and Nature determine when boys and girls are ready for sexs and marriage. not anyone in this country. There is a process that MOST of us go through called "Puberty" when a CHILD has finished puberty around the age of 13 or 14 usually, they are physically ready for sex and many of them begin to have it.
that sends men and women to prison for ye
I must admit that when I logged onto my msn home page and saw this header, I was outraged. I clicked on the link just to "put Newsweek on blast" for crafting such an irresponsible story. Then, I saw the writer, Allison Samuels, and immediately relaxed. Allison, I applaud your work. Sometimes, I get really uncomfortable with our "dirty laundry" being aired, but I know that with you, the varied African-American experience is always fully balanced.
