Great Lady! She will make us proud...
I can't even imagine Michelle Obama big mouth angry woman as our first Lady!

Thank You Cindy for all your wonderful generous work for the unfortunate!

Michelle will be a great first lady. She is the favorite anyway. Did you hear about the dress she wore on The View last week? Sold out in every boutique across the country.

    • Posted By: Alvy @ 06/24/2008 6:31:11 PM

Was that substance or insulting Obama's wife?

  • Posted By: Spacer @ 06/23/2008 1:46:48 PM

I have always been proud of my country," Cindy responded, repeating comments she'd made when Michelle first made the remark.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

That's a misquote of what Michelle Obama actually said which was "for the first time in my ADULT life I'm REALLY proud of my country. This is how the corporate media operates: distort what the opponents of the corporate welfare state actually say while writing puff pieces like this one about the fast-living corporate candidate and his equally fast-living wife.

    • Posted By: WhenStarsTurnBlue @ 06/24/2008 11:23:42 PM

The first time she said it, Michelle said, "...I'm proud of my country." Then later she made another speech with the "really" added in. Try googling it, I think there are some youtube clips about it. The first speech was in Milwaukee, the second speech was in Madison, Wis. It's a spin job.

So are you mad because She is proud of her country or are you mad because she was clever in responding to a question.

    • Posted By: Pete Kent @ 06/23/2008 1:55:32 PM

How old is the woman? Nearly 50? Her adult life dates back to 1978 or so. Nothing happened from then till Barack Obama running for President that mande her "really" proud of her country? Amazing! Her comment was indefensible and shows you how Black separatists like the Obama's choose not to fully participate in the life of our country. Now we are asked to elect one of them President? Astounding!

      • Posted By: MicheleCA @ 06/23/2008 3:59:32 PM

Gee Pete perhaps Laura Bush could school you!

      • Posted By: atl78 @ 06/23/2008 2:08:52 PM

Nice try, but she was 1. referring to politics in the speech 2. said "really" and did not say she has never been proud. I love my kids to death but the moments of feeling REALLY proud are rare. McCain signed up for service without loving his country. But, of course, he gets a pass for many reasons...

Some of you who read my posts about investment banks driving up the price of oil through commodities futures trading did not believe me that this was a real issue, despite the fact that the Senate is investigating it. Well, it really is an issue and an important one, so important the the Department of Justice is going to investigate.

Today Senator Obama announced a plan today to crack down on excessive energy speculation and fully close the loophole in the CFTC regulations that I referred to in my blog. This loophole is also called the "Enron Loophole" because it was created by McCain Campaign co-chair Phil Gramm at the behest of Enron lobbyists, and exempts most trading on energy commodities from regulation. As a result, the CFTC is unable to oversee the oil futures market or investigate cases where excessive speculation is driving up oil prices. Just last month, John Hofmesiter, President of Shell Oil Company, says that the proper, uninflated production price of a barrel of crude oil is no more than $65.

    http://www.financialpost.com/reports/oil-watch/story.html?id=532747

Clarence Cazalot, CEO of Marathon Oil, stated in November of 2007 that "$100 oil just isn't justified by the physical demand on the market - it is speculation on the futures market that is driving this."

    http://money.cnn.com/2007/11/12/markets/oil_hundred/index.htm?postversion=2007111216

Larry Chom, Chief Economist of Platt's, states in a recent Businessweek article that speculation is adding at least $50 to the price of every barrel of oil. You can read this article in the May 13, 2008 edition of Businessweek, but it is no longer available on their website unless you are a member.

To see what Senator Obama is doing to correct this serious problem and lower the price of gas and oil, go to his website:

    http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/stateupdates/gG5Rzb

Now THAT is my kind of President! Sees the problem, and moves to fix it, while Bush and McCain are sitting on their hands.

What a puff piece. Really, did NW get paid from McCain campaign or did they print this article as a favor?

  • Posted By: LuLuBelle @ 06/24/2008 9:46:06 PM

I really did not know much about Cindy mcCain but after reading this article I have to say I have a whole lot of respect for her. She has plenty of money and could just be spoiled and selfish but uses her life to go help children around the world. She sounds like a damn decent person to me.

Forget her plastic surgery enhanced looks; they match her mummfied-looking husband. The important fact is that she is as vacant as she looks. She makes speeches better suited for 1950's Miss America pagents, "I just want world peace".

Is that Cindy McCain or Joan Rivers? Both have had their faces lifted so many times , their feet are off the floor! Watching Cindy and John McCain coming down the stairs of Cindy's Jet is like watching a NASCAR race. You're just waiting for a crash.

Thank you USA4life :) I agree with you as well :)

Cindy McCain is just another rich white woman who thinks she is better than everyone else. She wouldn't release her tax records until she was forced into it. I don't trust - it's something about her eyes. She can't relate to living a blue -collar life or even a middle class life. She can't possibly be in touch with most Americans.

This is totally off topic but CNN just aired a clip of an iraqi politician, I think, calling Condeleeza Rice "That Black Scorpion with the blood of Iraqi children between her fangs" That was evil.

I agree SJ, evil, a lot of that going on lately, what's going on?

I didn't even bother reading further than the first paragraph before laughing out loud. That comment about being a Navy wife, her husband off on deployement while she was the brave little Navy wife tending to home and kids, blah blah blah. He left the military not long after he married her, he hit the cash jackpot, so she has no idea what it takes to be a military wife. No Cindy, that was his FIRST wife, the one you took him away from after having a year long affair with him. She was the one who was mentally held captive along with her husband for five long years, who endured raising their children alone and worried about making ends meet. She is the one who stood by him, never giving up hope. You on the other hand had nannys and maids and had the choice whether to be with him, or remain back in Arizona. You couldn't even raise your own kids, you were spaced out for years on drugs you stole from your charity orginization. You have absolutely no right to attempt to judge Michelle Obama with your past. Do what you do best, stand beside your hubby with your makeup caked on, with your spaced out gaze, and try to make him appear younger next to you, his trophy wife.

Regarding your comment: "You couldn't even raise your own kids, you were spaced out for years on drugs you stole from your charity orginization. You have absolutely no right to attempt to judge Michelle Obama with your past"

How do you like it when some of the extremist here call Michelle an "American Hater" due to her comments? You don't do you?! I think we all need to chill-out and stop being so quick to judge. I'd bet that you have a few skeletons in your closet too... Heck, we all do!

      • Posted By: donnaspeaks @ 06/23/2008 11:48:50 PM

i think husband stealing drug addict is a new first for an American first lady.

        • Posted By: onepoker @ 06/24/2008 11:43:00 AM

Maybe for a first lady but we have had presidents that fit this description (John Kennedy) Oh substitute husband stealing for playing the field.

      • Posted By: summer4077 @ 06/24/2008 9:52:46 AM

Well, there's a big difference because of their actions. Michelle Obama is a proud, intelligent, accomplished woman. She also is a wonderful mother. You'd have to look pretty hard to find skeletons in her closet. She seems to have lived her life with a strong work ethic and strength of character. A few comments mean nothing. I actually agree with her comments, and I'm white. Why has it taken so long to have a black candidate...that is, a black candidate that has a credible shot at winning. Although I never understood the whole hoopla over his race anyway...what makes him black when he's also half-white?

After McCain got out of prison in North Vietnam, he dumped his wife and 2 kids, then married Cindy, whose family beer money got him elected into the U.S. Senate. The only reason he got into the Naval Academy in the first place was because his dad was a World War II admiral. Last year, McCain admitted he knew little about economics---now he wants to be our President and get us out of this mess? Heaven help us.....

    • Posted By: onepoker @ 06/24/2008 11:28:10 AM

A man with a wife who knows how to distribute beer! sounds perfect for the coming economy. By the way he was being groomed as a political candidated before he met Cindy. He met her as a liason to congress from the Navy.

IT MUST FEEL GOOD TO BE A "ROOKIE" ON TOP OF THE WORLD!!!!

Get used to it, President OBAMA!!!!

Today's Gallup: "By 19- and 16-point margins, respectively, Americans are more likely to see Barack Obama rather than John McCain as better able to handle energy prices and the economy, two of the most important presidential election issues in the public's eyes at this time. Six other issues were tested in the poll, with the two candidates positioned roughly evenly on Iraq, moral values, and illegal immigration, while Obama has an edge on healthcare and taxes. McCain's only advantage is on terrorism."

Don't forget the Rasmussen Polls: "The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Barack Obama attracting 46% of the vote while John McCain earns 40%. The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows Obama leading in states with 200 Electoral College votes while McCain leads in states with 174 votes. When leaners are included, it's Obama 284, McCain 240. "

    Oh , happy days!!!!!!!

Who is Cindy McCain? Who the f*ck cares?!?!?!?!

Wow, so this article is what it looks like when a witter totally gives up ANY notion of balance.

How much did it cost the McWar campaign to run a 6 page ad anyways?

"For Cindy, the move to Washington would not be easy." I wouldn't worry to much about it, the voters will help Cindy stay in AZ.

I say you don't look forward to a terrorist attack to boost your ratings!
