There is this argument out there that I hear our troops repeating over and over agian. WE CANNOT LEAVE UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE WE CANNOT LET OUR BROTHERS DIE IN VAIN.

NOW THAT IS REAL BUL****. THAT STATEMENT IS GOVERNMENT IDEOLOGY AND NOT MILITARY IDEOLOGY.

COLIN POWELL SAID IT BEST. DEFINE YOUR MISSION CLEARLY SET YOUR OBJECTIVES AND USE OVERWHELMING FORCE AKA SHOCK AND AWE to accomplish your mission.

WE HAVE NO CLEAR AGENDA and NO CLEAR OBJECTIVES. WE ARE NOT SURE. SO HOW ON EARTH CAN WE JUSTIFY THE LOSS OF MORE AMERICAN LIVES. AS LONG AS WE STAY IN IRAQ YOUNG AMERICANS WILL CONTINUE TO DIE IN VAIN. WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE MADE OUR POINT VERY CLEAR. WE ARE SICK OF IRAQ AND WE ARE SICK OF OUR DEPENDENCY ON MIDDLE EASTERN OIL.

OBAMA WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

THE LAST FALLACY I WANT TO ADDRESS IS THAT THE SURGE IS WORKING.

THIS ARGUMENT IS SO CRAZY THAT IT IS HARD TO EXPLAIN.

SURGE means temporary. OUR TROOPS PRESENCE IN THAT COUNTRY OF IRAQ IS THE MAIN REASON FUNDAMENTALIST HAVE FOR ATTACKING US.

WE NEED A PRESIDENT THAT WILL DO WHAT IS BEST FOR AMERICA NOT WHAT IS BEST FOR IRAQ.

Who is Cindy McCain? Humm. Well, let's see, she's blonde, skinny ( should consider eating an ocassional a meal) is 54 but looks at least 64 so I suppose even the Botox doesn't help. Oh, yes, she loves Chanel suits. Do I need to know anything else?

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 06/24/2008 10:46:58 AM

PS My comment is in lieu of all the mean attacks against Michelle Obama's looks from you Republicans. When you attack our candidate wife's looks, we attack back.

Hillary OR McCain (PERIOD). NO OBAMA. Please be careful of the propaganda. George Soros and Daily KOS own the Democratic PARTY. Take OUR PARTY BACK.

I'm not a religious zealot or anything but to quote the bible "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". We ALL make mistakes in life. I'm sure McCain and Obama have both had their share. Why can't we just focus on what is really important?...The Issues concerning our Country!

Not to mention that I'm sure most of these bloggers have something in their past, or present, that they are not proud of but still consider themselves to be good people. No one is perfect. I don't consider a man getting divorced and remarrying (28 years ago) or a man who smoked pot in his college years to be a bad person. I'm much more concerned with their stance on our current issues.
However, many people are not intelligent like you and I. They must revert to simplistic, childish name-calling.

She's a drug addicted floozy and an complete imbecile. When people say she's pretty and classy I want to laugh. She looks like her face caught on fire and somone tried to put it out with a pitch fork. She has all the class of a third world prostitute.

Most probably it is your mother that is a prostitute...this is why you can not see differences.

It was her own husband that told her "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you ***."

Yeah, that's who I want for my President. Barrack would never disrespect his wife in that manner.

NO AMERICAN LIFE IS WORTH IRAQI FREEDOM.
"ANYONE WHO DISAGREES IS NOT A REAL AMERICAN eddiewhere 2008

We need to get out of Iraq and transfer responsibility and management of that country to the IRAQ's themselves. THEY SHOULD be backed by a multinational force led by Middle Eastern countries until they are able to fight extremist on their own.
Our unilateral approach in the MIDDLE EAST has to come to an end. ECONOMICALLY, IRAQ IS KILLING the average tax payer and making a few private contractors and oil firms rich.

We need Oil. WE NEED OIL. Therefore, getting rid of the Iranian regime is at the top of our agenda.
The majority in Iran want change but not under and American led invasion. It has to be done from within. We lost the support of moderate Arabs and Muslims over the last six years. Hopefully, PRESIDENT OBAMA can empower this group and encourage them to meet with their counterparts.

Inotherwords there should be an alliance between all moderates in the Middle East, JEWS, ARABs, MUSLIMS, ect... These forces must be self motivated by a common cause, Peace. IF this group can be strengthened they themselves will defeat or at least contain the force of extremism.
WE must strengthen the forces behind peace and weaken those against peace on both sides.

THE UNITED STATES CANNOT SOLVE THE CONFLICT IN THE MIDDLE EAST. WE CAN ONLY STRENGHTEN AND SUPPORT THE PEOPLE OF THE MIDDLE EAST TO SOLVE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS.

IN THE SHORT RUN WE NEED MIDDLE EASTERN OIL. THIS COMPLICATES OUR ROLE OVER THERE.
WE Should have had an ENERGY SUMMIT TEN YEARS AGO. WE NEED TO COME UP WITH A TWENTY YEAR PLAN to RID OURSELVES of OIL DEPENDENCY IN THE MIDDLE EAST. TWENTY YEARS WILL GO BY LIKE NOTHING. WE HAVE TO START NOW.

THE most dangerous threats are the ones you do not see coming. LIKE CHINA, RUSSIA, EASTERN EUROPEAN organized crime. Monitoring these entities will be our great challenge.
ARE WE READY FOR CYBER WAR. I DON't THINK SO.

I would think that her experience the first time around would have made her more understanding of Michelle Obama's comment.

    Hi Glimps,

I don't know what you're talking about, I didn't say anything about college grads being gullible. I specifically stated that the electorate (delegates) maybe the gullible folks that ultimately put an inexperience candidate in office due to overwhelming pressure from liberal extremist. I understand that GW has brought a bad name to the republican party over the past seven plus years, but you can't paint every republican with a broad brush

To me that's unfair to John McCain. McCain is not Bush! He's a moderate republican/ centrist. I'm a republican and I want our party back. Just like democrats, we're all tired of the NEOCON rule over the past 7 years.

I know most democrats feel differently, and I respect that, but I think McCain is the best man for the job. Remember! Not all republicans are neocons and/or extremist.

I'm uncomfortable with extremist from both sides of the aisle! Although I think that Obama is very sharp, he is just too liberal and inexperience for me. Maybe in 8 years he'll be ready.

By the way, don't you think it's a little disrespectful to be making negative comments regarding old people. You don't know how old I am.

Here is an enlightening article arguing that McCain is not just another Bush III

      STUMPER
      Posted Monday, June 16, 2008 6:40 PM
Why McCain Wouldn't Be Bush III (Sorry, Barack)
      Andrew Romano

      EXCERPT:

Yes, McCain is a Republican. Yes, he--like Bush--has Republican positions. And yes, you should vote against him if you disagree with the Republican Party on the issues. My only point here is that McCain, based on his bipartisan past, is probably one of the Republicans least likely to govern like Bush--and thus least deserving of the inevitable "Bush III" label. None of this is to say that McCain would be a perfect president, or even a good one. I'll let the voters decide that. Maybe you think he's too old. Maybe you think he's too conservative. Maybe you think he's squandered his honor for political gain. Maybe you just like Obama better. Any reason is fine, as long, that is, as the crucial comparison is between Obama and McCain--their policies, their personalities and the problems they'll face as president--and not between Obama and Bush. Because even though 43 has done some preposterous things during his time in the White House, he's not defying the Twenty-Second Amendment to run for a third term--despite what Obama says.

this is very touching and endearing. to a point. then when you shake your head and try to focus on the fact that this article is speaking about Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran's trophey wife, it puts it all into perspective. I am not a big Obama fan but the mere comparison of Obama to McCain and especially their two wives, leaves Michelle way far out in front --- and not whimpering about her depression and mid--life drug problems.

Right! Obama, who has not put himself on the line for anything other than himself. A self indulgent Illinois political machine hack. What change? No change! This guy is a cheap suit albeit a slick talker. Lets see, he dumped campaign finance reform, changed his mind on FISA, plays the race card like a casino card shark and has individuals on his campaign staff who put Che Guevara's picture up in their office, change the logo of the president (seal) and associate with black racists, liberation theologists, Marxists and anarchists. Great guy this Obama. Media loves him because he assuages the white guilt over racism. Now, does the do the same thing with black racists? You are known by the company you keep Obama. Your company is not the mainstream of America. mpbdeS3@yahoo.com.

Why isn't McCain's daughter Meghan McCain fighting in Iraq? If Cindy McCain really believes in patriotism and sacrifice, why hasn't Meghan volunteered for a combat position in Iraq and why hasn't she pledged to stay in Iraq for "as long as it takes." - (like 35 to 100 years depending on which way McCain flip-flops.)

Cindy Mccain represents the typical rich Republican. She's all for the war in Iraq, as well as fighting additional wars in Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, wherever... as long as some body else's children are doing the fighting and dying, and as long as some one else's children wind up killed and maimed. She favors all sorts of tax breaks for herself, because to quote the infamous Leona Helmsley "only little people pay taxes" and "only big people and corporations" get tax breaks.

If I sound mean-spirited, sorry. But I've seen a documentary called Body of War which features the day to day life if a severely disabled Iraqi war veteran, who incidentally is getting screwed because of McCain's decision to cut veterans benefits. In view of those realities, a puff promotiong on Cindy McCain just doesn't cut it.

Thank you for ignoring the fact that McCain's youngest son, Jack, is an Infantry Marine who has served a tour in Iraq. Thank you for ignoring the fact that McCain's second oldest son is a midshipman at the Naval Academy and will graduate and be commissioned in the Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant.

      • Posted By: jwtrotman @ 06/23/2008 9:38:47 PM

ONE CAN ONLY HOPE MCCAIN'S SECOND SON FINISHES HIGHER IN HIS GRADUATING CLASS THAN 894 OUT OF 899 LIKE HIS OLD MAN. AND MCCAIN WANTS TO BE PRESIDENT? CAN HE EVEN READ? HOW MANY BOOKS DOES HE HAVE IN HIS LIBRARY? PROBABLY ONE; THE NAVY'S BLUE JACKET MANUAL.

John McCain is a serial adulterer. There has only been one other divorced president in the history of the US, and Ronald Reagan got away with that because his Jane Wyman marriage was considered a Hollywood moment. He certainly didn't violat US Naval code by having an adulterous relationship while an officer and having THAT relationship break up his first marriage. Oh, sure, John just wanted to put all that ol' VIetNam behind him - it had nothing to do with Cindy being whole, 17 years younger, a rich heiress in a politically connected family (and state) that attracted the ambitious McCain who had decided politics was for him after being the Senate Naval aide (where he spent his time smuggling booze for John Tower and classified naval documents to his favorite Senators in contravention of naval orders). This sanitized white wash of Cindy is amazing. And you DARE to slam Michelle Obama for a couple of misstatements in her speeches?

If you could actually string together a coherent sentence, I would call you bigot. But I am not sure that was your intention - well, now that I am thinking about it - I pretty sure it was. Bigot!

Awwwww, I think everyone should be over the whole "Michelle's comments" thing. Mccain said darn near the exact same thing, and he REALLY MEANT WHAT HE SAID!!

AS Mrs. Obama explained on The View, her words were misconstrued. Anybody with a TV should know better.

Cindy McCain didn't just steal drugs from the charity she founded; she also stole someone's identity to obtain drugs in that person's name, making them look like a druggie to their insurer. How would you like lose both your job and your ability to obtain health insurance at a reasonable price due to someone else's crime? Another observation: Here in Phoenix, the Obama for Pres signs/stickers outnumber the McCain ones by 10/1. Who do you think will win in AZ?

  • Posted By: GregHere @ 06/21/2008 5:36:27 PM

..............................Cindy McCain has had a driving desire to be among the prominent and wealthy elite in this Country since her days as a USC Trojanite. America needs a different type of First Lady, one with a strong desire to help improve the lives of every day citizens and not one like Cindy who wants to be given a favorable spot in the newspapers, news magazines and history books.......we will be better off by taking a pass card on this self styled glitzy babe!!!!

    • Posted By: osthode @ 06/23/2008 9:06:44 PM

Apparently you didn't read the article at all! But I guess if you're point is to decide for yourself who Cindy McCain is without any facts, you will remain mindlessly ignorant.

    • Posted By: brueso @ 06/21/2008 7:28:39 PM

If a Democrat's wife had been stealing prescription drugs from a charity, I'm sure there would be umpteen Republican 527 attacks ads about it. It's probably lucky for Cindy that she and her husband are Republicans and Rush Limbaugh also was a prescription drug addict or those people would run up her the flagpole for the next 6 months.

  • Posted By: caughtulooking @ 06/23/2008 8:50:03 PM

Love the fact that the McCains have nothing to hide. Everyone has skeletons in their closet. Can't wait to see what falls out of the Obama's.
