guess Barack is shaken by all the bloggers and websites floating the Net because he has formed a "dream team" to help fight us! Senator Obama has formed a team to battle his negative image on the Internet. Why would he be concerned about articles that he claims are lies and misconceptions? Do you think that maybe a good percentage of those articles may speak the truth?

Is it coincidence that Obama graduated from Harvard, a school with one of the largest Muslim organizations (HIS - Harvard Islamic Society) located on campus since 1955.

Is it coincidence that Barack was repulsed by a very successful Republican President Ronald Reagan and is enamored by one of our worst Presidents in history Jimmy Carter?

Is it coincidence that Larry Sinclair is getting death threats after stating he had a drug encounter and two gay sex encounters with Obama about 8 years ago?

Is it coincidence that Obama had absolutely NO PROBLEM with his church or pastor until the year that he ran for President and then he amazingly saw the light?

Is it coincidence that Barack received donations from, visited the home of and is friends with Pentagon and Police Headquarters Bomber William Ayres? Is that Liberal enough for you?

Is it coincidence that 16 times convicted felon Tony Rezko donated thousands to Obama's campaign in Illinois, basically buying him the election, than receiving millions in Illinois contracts for himself and associates?

Is it coincidental that Obama has all these questionable ties and with little to no political experience has received over $264 Million in campaign contributions?

Is it going to be coincidence when Democratic opponents John Edwards receives an Attorney General's position and Hillary Clinton will get a Supreme Court nomination for their quick change in support FOR Barack Hussein Obama should he be victorious in November?

Who is controlling this puppet. We may find out soon enough. I guess this article and others will put us on the Internet dream team's radar. Bring it on Obama Sheeple, you can't handle the truth!

      Dear WillNotVote,

Considering that the GOP and Karl Rove are making up lies and deceptions about Obama every day, and considering the fact that people like you are willing to spread this manure on the Internet for Rove & Company, I think that it is normal for Obama to have a website that disputes these rumors.

Harvard's Islamic Society was founded in 1955, considerably before radical Islam began inflicting terror on the Western world. In case you didn't know it, Harvard is one of the greatest universities in the world, and students from many different countries go there to study. The HIS is a prayer group, not a political organization or a terrorist group. The first words on their website are "Peace be upon you." Harvard also has a Catholic society, a Buddhist society, and I will bet even an atheist society. This matters because?

Obama praises Reagan to the skies in his book Audacity of Hope, even though he also gives a fair critique of what Reagan did not do well. Ditto for Carter. And the WORST President in history is Dubya Bush, a far bigger stinker than Carter.

Larry Sinclair is a convicted felon who has spent most of the last 26 years in jail. Considering that he has been found guilty of theft, forgery, perjury and extortion, I would say that NOTHING this man says is credible. End of story.

How do you know how Obama felt about his Reverend? Rev. Wright, like most people, is made up of good and bad qualities. He has ample good qualities, despite how he was presented in perjorative sound bytes.

Ayers is NOT friends with Obama. They were both members of the same charity board, with about 30 other people. And Ayers was NEVER convicted of anything illegal. He showed an idiot's bad judgement, as did McCain during the Keating 5 scandal. (Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.) Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's campaign. Big deal.

All of the money donated by Rezko was given to charity by Obama. Even though those funds were raised legally, Obama decided he did not want that money in his campaign.

The reason Obama has received so much money in contributions is that Americans WANT CHANGE in Washington, so they have been donating to the candidate who they see as the agent of change. McCain is more Bush war, more Bush depressed economy, more Bush failed foreign policy, more $10 a gallon gasoline.

I doubt that Edwards would become Attorney General. He doesn't have the relevant experience, nor the tough as nails dispostion. And I think it would be WONDERFUL if Obama appointed Clinton as a Supreme Court Justice. What a great idea! Thanks for that.

hey ninny....you say, Hussein's limo lovin' partner is..."end of story." Sorry, IT IS THE BEGINNING OF STORY. Got another one for you. Seems mama Ann, baby boy Hussein Jr., and birth certificate/pregnancy are starting to raise serious questions. Could it be possible Hussein is NOT AMERICAN? hmmm. I'll let you know what comes up. Illegal adoption anyone? Hawaii certificate is not standard. Individuals with access are questioning its authenticity. More wait and see. Boy, this character is shady in all aspects.

Here is an interesting article arguing against McCain not being Bush III

    STUMPER
    Posted Monday, June 16, 2008 6:40 PM
Why McCain Wouldn't Be Bush III (Sorry, Barack)
    Andrew Romano

    EXCERPT:

Yes, McCain is a Republican. Yes, he--like Bush--has Republican positions. And yes, you should vote against him if you disagree with the Republican Party on the issues. My only point here is that McCain, based on his bipartisan past, is probably one of the Republicans least likely to govern like Bush--and thus least deserving of the inevitable "Bush III" label. None of this is to say that McCain would be a perfect president, or even a good one. I'll let the voters decide that. Maybe you think he's too old. Maybe you think he's too conservative. Maybe you think he's squandered his honor for political gain. Maybe you just like Obama better. Any reason is fine, as long, that is, as the crucial comparison is between Obama and McCain--their policies, their personalities and the problems they'll face as president--and not between Obama and Bush. Because even though 43 has done some preposterous things during his time in the White House, he's not defying the Twenty-Second Amendment to run for a third term--despite what Obama says.

Here is the full story: http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/stumper/archive/2008/06/16/sorry-barack-mccain-won-t-deliver-a-third-bush-term.aspx

      The problem is:
Bush could not possibly have carried off all of the garbage without help.
He did not lie about all of that stuff on his own.
It took many in the Republican party.
Karl Rove is as corrupt as they come.
Cheney and Rumsfeld were planning the Iraq war before 9/'11 even happened.
The corruption is beyond just bush. It is a whole group of people.

The idea that you can put McCain in and not get the same corruption, is naive in light of McCain's past behavior, and current stances.

It is hard to elect a candidate we have never really known. Obama has the responsibility to show that there is not a latent Wright virus tangled in his genome. Why is his long-term association with radical groups not a nonverbal cue as to who he is and what he values?

    • Posted By: metzlerd @ 06/30/2008 11:11:35 PM

At the point in time that I realized that not one President has had his character judged based on his pastor.
At the point in time that I realized that not one President has had his pastor investigated.
At the point in time that I realized that all our pastors must challenge our thinking.
At the point in time that I realized it didn't matter what the facts were because people were making half of the stuff up anyway.
At the point in time that I realized that the same people who accused him of being in Wrights church for 20 years were calling Obama a Muslim.

At that point in time I realized the answer to your question:
      Because its idiotic!

    • Posted By: mickie @ 06/30/2008 4:03:50 PM

Are you still living in the dark ages? Do you read? Like his books? Do you watch television news programs? Do you listen to discusions? Do you exercise common sense? Get off the supposed radicalism and the Wright stuff. It is lie mongering. If you don't agree with Obama's positions on political issues...fine. That is your constitutional right. But character assasination and spreading lies are not..

  • Posted By: mickie @ 06/30/2008 3:56:18 PM

If anybody, including political candidates, does not change his/her mind on an issue from time to time, I would strongly wonder if he/she uses his mnd at all.. Give me a leader who researches and discusses with others before making a decision, even though he may have thought differently at one time. THAT is NOT flip-flopping....that is thinking. We have had 8 years of someone who quite obviously does not use that precious gray matter. It is there to be activated...not just to fill space between two appendages that are underused in too many instances.

    • Posted By: metzlerd @ 06/30/2008 11:01:16 PM

So you're really saying Bush flopped when he should have flipped.

  • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 06/30/2008 9:47:28 PM

KOOL-AID??????..From the kitchen of the obama sheeple!! take one heaping spoonful of an inexperienced elitist white male seeking self validation through exploitation of his african-american genetics. Combine two parts black liberation theology clerics spewing intolerance! With two parts of unrepentant intellectuals committed to the destruction of America. Stir in one cup of militant black wife harboring the overwhelming desire to stick it to whitey and one spoonful of typical white person grandmother mix well. Pour a gallon of anti-patriotism into tall glasses and sprinkle with naïve foreign policy ideations. Serve on a platter of meaningless oratorical hyperbole with a generous dollop of wealth re-distribution. Sprinkle liberally with zest of white guilt flip it and flop it till it tastes right. Serve large portions to the undiscerning and spellbound masses convinced that the Second Coming is upon America and now you have a complete recipe for disaster!

Um, so how much does a former governor know about the DC scene? Stop manufacturing issues in articles like this.

Also, do you not get that younger boomers, Xers, and older Yers together render older boomers and greatest gen folks completely irrelevant? We don't care how it used to be done. It's not going to be done that way any more. We all want sanity in our lives... balance.

And, um, doesn't the current prez take way more vacations than anyone on the planet? How can we complain about Obama wanting to erect healthy boundaries?

When George W. Bush told the American people, the world and the congress that there was justification for attacking Iraq, he lied. Today the American people realize that, just as the world has all along. When he said that American drugs brought back into the U.S. would be unsafe, he lied to support his position, as he did when he said Global Warming wasn???t a real problem. He lied, as did many others in his administration, when he said his administration had nothing to do with releasing the CIA agent???s identity and again when he stated that squelching the wiretapping story during an election year was done for national security reasons and not just for political reasons. When he offered that Afghanistan was relatively secure, the War on Terror was succeeding and it wasn???t a problem to focus instead on Iraq and then frequently again throughout the Iraq campaign he used ???rational lies??? in reporting status. On and on, private accounts for Social Security, Tax Cuts for the wealthy, trade agreements resulting in exported American jobs and taxes, the humongous deficit isn???t a problem,,, George W. Bush and his staff have freely reverted to exaggerations, rationalizations, intentional deceptions,, simply lies while they pursued their own private agenda and now today everyone understands that to be the reality ??? but how often have we actually heard it said? When have you ever heard a reporter say, ???Well the president (or his staff) has told another whopper today???? Not the media, not the Democrats, not any whistle blower with merit, not any responsible Republican with a conscience, not even any Christian or community leader, not anyone with credibility has ever come out and exposed or condemned the flagrant and arrogant lying that the Bush administration has so consistently indulged in. Why? Is there that much power behind them, to control the media and put fear in everyone else? And if that is true, where does that leave us? One by one, separately the individual lies can be taken and rationalized, covered over and explained using more lies but together they tell the real story ??? we are simply being taken for granted and repeatedly lied to. Maybe it is felt that calling them on their lies or disrespectfully calling the President a liar would serve no purpose and might even be counter-productive but, as we have drastically seen, that then only condones and encourages more of the same. It is well past time for change! We desperately need change from the Bush-Cheney abuse and private use of our government and we really need change from Washington as usual!

Obama is neither experianced or qualified. He has flip flopped more than any other, has skewed the Bible, wants to increase taxes in an unstable economy, does not know anything about foreign policy, has not been to Iraq in many years, will put this country at risk, and will not win simply because Ameica does NOT need a manipulative liar again.

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 06/24/2008 8:13:09 AM

No foreign policy you say? Tell me, what foreign policy experience does McCain have if any? At least Obama has lived, travelled and studied abroad .

      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/24/2008 8:57:38 AM

Yes and he would have us change our systems and ways of life to that of foreign countries. He would have us embrace marxism rather than live the freedoms started by our founding fathers. Yep, he is great for the country......

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 06/24/2008 10:32:29 AM

This Marxism accusation is getting silly.

          • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/25/2008 10:50:24 PM

Silly? OK lets take from one group and give to another. Lets have the state sponsor everything and dictate everything. Sounds pretty much in line with obamaism and marxism now doesn't it. What is silly is that some people are too stupid and blind to see what is happening. We seem to be real eager to give the government control of our lives....

            • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 06/26/2008 11:01:19 AM

As a Republican, I have seen big time what is going on in this country and I'm mad as hell! It's time to get the Reps out and send them packing! That is why I vote OBAMA in Nov. You just helped me remove my doubts as to who to vote for, thank you!

                  • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/27/2008 12:23:04 AM

You're welcome. I thought you were smarter than that by your previous posts. But maybe the shoe did fit if someone's comments can steer you.... Both republicans and democrats have been screwing things up for quite some time now. To blame one side is ignorance at best. To vote a "rep" out to teach them a lesson is in istelf the most stupid reason to make a vote. "ok, I'll show him.... blah blah blah". Come on that sounds like 3rd grade recess BS.... Use your brain. Many of your posts have been highly intelligent that last one was beneath you. The ONLY reason to vote for someone is because YOU believe that that vote is the best for America. Any other reason is retarded.

McCain is no saint, neither is Obama. It is for us to decide which one will be best for America. In this election if feels like "which one would do the least harm". If Obama floats your boat and you in your heart believe that government control is best, by all means vote for him. That is your right. Don't let me or anyone else make up your mind though. Only thing I want is a president who actually will support and defend the constiutution (and bill of rights). Our recent history has had too many attacks against these valuable documents. For me - that is the most important reason. The rest will fall into place. If we can get government out of our business and let the experts in their fields do their jobs, we all will be better off.

By the way, the "don't get your knickers in a twist" comment was in the spirit of levity and humor , not of an insulting nature

Good Morning . I've been an Obama supporter throughout the primaries. The last couple of days I have been in doubt after reading some posts but after reading even more info, I am certain that for me, Obama is definately the better choice for president.

No problem over the "knickers" comment.

Thanks for your comment. Have a nice day.

                      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/27/2008 8:44:40 AM

Morning pia. I am a conservative - not Rep / not Dem. I want small government doing their job and leaving the rest to the American people. These politicians are not the end all be all fountain of knowledge and experience like they attempt to have us believe. They need to leave things like medical, power, etc to those who do specialize in the fields so things will work out.

I too thought Obama was a breath of fresh air when he first came on the scene. It wasn't people posting their comments that made the difference - it was actually paying attention to him. After a while I noticed the semblance of ideas I had remembered from history. I saw marxism/communism/fascism sneaking into the picture (why I made the marxism comment). After actually listening to his ideas is when I came to realize that, like Hitler (at the time Germany's economic situation was bad), Obama also made excellent speached and appeared to be a savior (for lack of a better term) to the country. But just like with Hitler, the cost of individual freedom was for me just too much to trade off. The more I listened to him (not bloggers) the more I said "Hell no". Again, if our politicians would back out of the picture and let our businessmen and corporations actually operate as they have throughout the country's history - the economy would boom once again. Same goes with medicine and every other field. Look throughout history, every time the government tries to get involved - whatever they touch has the opposite of the "Midas touch" - they screw up everything. Yet they keep coming back wanting us to believe that they can "fix it". The only way they can fix it is to leave it to Americans. Government didn't invent vehicles, medical advancements, economic growth, etc... it was the citizens. The only thing the government has done is stifle progress.

I (like several others) spent yrs supporting and defending the constitution of the US so that we all have the continued right to vote our conscience. The only thing we can HOPE for is that collectively we make the right choices for America. Fortunately for us, one person can't completely screw things up otherwise we would all have been in slavery a very long time ago.... What does need to happen is a message to these elected officials that the represent us, they do not rule us. That seems to be lost concept to these "public servants" - but that is how it was established from the beginning - we have simply strayed from this .

Like I said previously.... maybe you should do your homework. Spend time in a library (yes you have to know how to read and comprehend what you are reading). Look up the different governmental philosophies. Then listen to Obama. If you still can't see the near perfect comparison then you are completely lost in his rhetoric.

          • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/25/2008 10:54:03 PM

Have you even listened to the candidate you support? you ask for proof. Listen to him. Study history (you can go to any library and study socialism, marxism, fascism, etc. Actually look at what the philosophies were and listen to your hero's philosophies. If you haven't learned your history and are of this "microwave culture give me everything without my having to think" culture then you simply aren't worth the time even trying to explain things. I don't like your candidate but I at least listen. I doubt that you honestly do the same for McCain. Problem is people jump on a bandwagon and follow blindly, refusing to see what is clearly in their faces.

I bet you've never seen, opened, or read any of the texts these quotes came from. You're cutting and pasting which means you have no sense of context and are not a critical thinker. Or maybe you're just a paid blogger who specializes in racebaiting. Find a legit issue to attack him on, you're only doing damage to you're party. People have been de-sensitized to the half truthes and fear mongering....

Ezana, how is this for a starting issue. Obama once said we needed public funding for elections because otherwise the candidate would be beholden to the special interest groups donating money. I find it funny that now he refuses public funding (and distorts the issue by trying to make people think he is doing some good by this). Reason for this is that he doesn't have the same spending limits if he doesn't acept the public funding. So he can raise all he wants and spend like crazy. Of course now he is (in his own words) "BEHOLDEN TO THOSE WHO DONATE". So, although you will refuse to actually analyze and do critical thinking on your own - this is simply one example of how he is NO DIFFERENT than any other corrupt politician out there. he just gives better speaches.

    Don't like liberals?

    Fine, then give them back...

Our clean air and water standards, workers safety protections, the 40 hour work week, the soicial security program, the civil rights movement, the equal rights movement, the free speech movement, discrimination protections, the school lunch program, birth control, rural electrification, organized labor, child labor laws, the minimum wage, employee health care benefits, public assistance, Americans with disabilitiesAct, fair housing legislation, The Freedom of Information Act, The voting Rights Act, food and drug safety regulations, Federally subsidized student loans, collective bargaining...

and everything else they have done to put power back in the hands of the individual, and out of the hands of the conservative ruling and corporate elite.

dear willnotvoteobama. your more recent comments are more pertinent. We need to take a dispassionate look at Obama and ask ourselves : Who is this guy? What are his values? Where are his roots? Who has influenced him? Who has his ear now? What has he accomplished?

I agree with both comments JoseM and Willnot... Repubs and Independents are going to have to send a clear message to our local senators, congressmen/women and the electorate.

I just contacted my Senators in California regarding my strong opposition to our recent Ca. Supreme Court decision that over-turned the will of the people who voted against same-sex marriages just two years ago. Who in the hell do these judges think they are over-ruling the vote of the people of California? Our judges have over stepped their boundaries!

IF YOU ARE FROM CALIFORNIA PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO CONTACT SENATORS BOXER AND FEINSTEIN REGARDING THIS RECENT RULING!

THIS IS WRONG!!! WHY SHOULD WE VOTE IF JUDGES ARE GOING TO OVER RULE OUR VOICE! TOTAL BS!!!!!!!

        SPEAK UP CALIFORNIA!!!

        • Posted By: JohnPolitico @ 06/23/2008 9:51:48 PM

P.S. Where does each state draw the line? If we're going to legalize same-sex marriages--- what about polygamy? If members of the same-sex can get married why shouldn't we be allowed to have multiple spouses? Don't really believe in polygamy, just making a point!

          • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/27/2008 9:15:36 AM

I fully agree. And no I don't support having more than one wife (one is sometimes too many). But now that they want to allow same sex marriage, they are discriminating against those who want more than one spouse. Or maybe that 15 yr old is in love, they are discriminating against age.... blah blah blah.... it goes on and on. (Just to make the point before I am accused of pushing "child marriages" - I am not. But there are many countries who have different views than ours in the US and children 13, 14, 15, etc are being married. Some into plural marriages. I know for a fact that some countries in Africa are following this practice). It is the point. How do we make exceptions to the law for some and persecute others? Which laws do we follow? Which do we discard because we don't lihe it?" These judges have overstepped their bounds by going against the law that was established after a vote. Judges were never intended to create the laws - that is a function of the legislative branch. yet over and over we have judges sepposing they can make laws....

Well, it would help if Obama did not have the billionaire Media Mogul in this world supporting him. Read on:

      Media mogul Murdoch praises Obama

      EXCERPT:

The worlds most powerful media mogul and owner of *Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, the hard-line conservative Rupert Murdoch last night admitted he had told one of his publications to back Democratic candidate Barack Obama. Could this be the start of a home run for Obama?

A political communication analyst tells us why he should be wary.

CEO and chairman of News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch has a HUGE STAKE in the WORLD PRESS, including dozens of newspapers, magazines, television channels and websites.

He has been criticized for a biased and overbearing influence, especially coming from his American news channel *Fox News. In the UK, he owns almost all of the conservative written press and is thought by many to be the reason behind Tony Blair???s landslide victory in 1997. Last night, speaking at a technology conference supported by the Wall Street Journal, the media tycoon praised Barack Obama, calling him a STAR.

*SHARENEWS COMMENT: Fox News is the one news media that was the chosen one by Murdoch to not be as biased in support of Obama, unless it becomes ABSOLUTELY necessary to do so. Thus, the reason why Obama supporters will continue to flip out when they see Fox News referenced anywhere in these blogs when bloggers mention this network.

Obama is great at campaigning, especially with the media.

He is not nearly so good with the actual voters - note his measly, desperately gained margin of victory against a fumbling, bungling Clinton.

He is great at providing smooth answers to a gullible media - slippery answers that talk him out of potentially serious trouble, as in the case of his Black Power background.

And this smooth media-massaging seems to be just enough to get him into the White House by a small margin.

Especially as McCain has so far foolishly, suicidally, refused to take the gloves off in attacking Obama's flagrantly unpatriotic history, the betrayal of America that his long assocaition with Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers constitutes.

Clinton made the same deadly mistake. McCain has learned nothing from her defeat, it seems. He is not a reflective man.

Tthe American media today it can be said they have utterly discredited themnselves. They have shown themselves willfully blind and credulous. "Eyes Have They But They See Not, Ears Have They, But They Hear Not".

Yet Obama's troubles will begin once he is in office, and suddenly has to provide hard decisions instead of a slimy rhetoric avoiding them, to take tough stands, and to explain things clearly and credibly.

That will never be easy for a professional avoider of issues like him.

Hence he will quickly come to be one of the most despised and least trusted of US presidents.

Unbeknownst to herself, Hillary is actually lucky that Obama has turned her down for the VP slot.

Unless she discredits herself by becoming his belated toady, she should be well-placed for the 2012 campaign, when the country will be desperate to find CHANGE WE CAN TRUST.

You all keep calling Obama un-American. Do you realize that every time you critize your government that YOU are being Un-american? But to you Ganpat, I want to say, dont vote for Obama, none of you have to vote for Obama and he would never pick a silly "woman scorned" individual as VP like Hillary.

Obama will win this race. Why ,because God has raised him up for such a time as this. And sweety, if God be for you, who can be against you? God can make a way out of no way. He can get votes out of rocks. Dont let a rock take the place of your ignorant behinds. Such racist. Shame on you.

      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/27/2008 9:00:07 AM

criticizing the government isn't "Un-American". Our government was founded on the principle of being public servants and supporting the constitution. As American citizens we aren't here to defend the government, to be American is to honor and value the rights guaranteed by the constitution and bill of rights. In that bill of rights are provisions for the people to be able to fight against an oppressive government. All of the bill of rights were for "THE PEOPLE". That 2nd ammendment that has been in such unprecedented level of attack did not exist to give the government the right to have a military - that was given them through the constitution. The Bill of rights gave the people the means to stand up against the government if the government became oppressive. Our founding fathers were well beyond their years in intelligence. Look at history. Any time a government has chipped away at individual rights to "bear arms" for instance, after the population had given up their arms, they had no means to fight back when the government decided to rule over them..... Very good reason for individual rights.... The "melitia" wasn't like the Army and Navy back then... it was every day citizens. Same as today, we have our military, but we also have free citizens who are armes and able to fight.

So fighting back when the government starts becoming oppressive is NOT UN AMERICAN, it is totally being American.

It won't be the gullible voters (majority) that put Obama in the White House, but it might be the bought-off and/or gullible electorate.

I am am in any way sure of what John thinks, but I would assume in my case that it would be attributable to all Obama supporters who are in awe of what, for the most part, are his rhetorical speeches (not any that are of issues and solutions) of BRINGING THIS NATION TOGETHER. HOPE, CHANGE, FAITH. My question is proven experience and significant lead-oriented accomplishments in the political arena to backup your mission for pulling off the above.

          • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 06/24/2008 8:10:34 AM

Oh, so, sharenews, do you believe McCain can pull off the above? Obama can't? McCain had the chance to make a difference during the 8 years under Bush, and he didn't even try. He went along with almost everything. Please. Oh, and we Obama supporters are not in 'awe' of his speeches, as you put it. We are realistic as to what Obama can accomplish which is more than McCain has done. We just don't want another Bush.

You do know that I am not enamored with McCain necessarily, either. But I do tend to support the underdog on this board at times when he is being accused of doing the same actions as his opponent running for president (e.g. flip flopping). Was a little cranky earlier today when i blogged. Better now after dining out for a full course Chinese meal. Think the MSG sluggishness is setting in. Hi Glimps,

I don't know what you're talking about, I didn't say anything about college grads being gullible. I specifically stated that the electorate (delegates) maybe the gullible folks that ultimately put an inexperience candidate in office due to overwhelming pressure from liberal extremist. I understand that GW has brought a bad name to the republican party over the past seven plus years, but you can't paint every republican with a broad brush

To me that's unfair to John McCain. McCain is not Bush! He's a moderate republican/ centrist. I'm a republican and I want our party back. Just like democrats, we're all tired of the NEOCON rule over the past 7 years.

I know most democrats feel differently, and I respect that, but I think McCain is the best man for the job. Remember! Not all republicans are neocons and/or extremist.

I'm uncomfortable with extremist from both sides of the aisle! Although I think that Obama is very sharp, he is just too liberal and inexperience for me. Maybe in 8 years he'll be ready.

By the way, don't you think it's a little disrespectful to be making negative comments regarding old people. You don't know how old I am.

War for oil? It is amazing how you can even post this considering that Iraq'a oil contracts went to countries other than the US, even though the US has put more money, people and effort into liberating them.... Are you even aware of current events or do you just post BS to stimulate animosity?

WHAT THE . . . . ????? Does the phrase lack of judgment come to mind?

Has anyone else heard about this and if so has Obama apologized for this disrespectful act?

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS. . Anyone?

What on earth was the Obama and company thinking when they placed Porta-Potties up smack dab in the middle of a Memorial to fallen Oregon policemen with the flag right next to it at half mast during Memorial Day weekend? They could have placed the Porta-Potties anywhere else as there were many open wide spaces of lawn available to them.

Was this action supposed to be a subliminal message to send to America and her fallen heroes. Another audacious act by Obama and his camp.

    PORTLAND NEWS
    May 28, 2008

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland police officers have asked for an apology after they said organizers of a Barack Obama rally set up Porta-Potties on a memorial honoring fallen officers.

Earlier this month, 75,000 people gathered in Waterfront Park in downtown Portland to hear Obama speak at a pre-primary rally.

Officer Thomas Brennan, a seven-year veteran with the Portland Police Bureau, said he was happy to help at the rally after being called in on his day off.

On short notice, a lot of people had to cancel trips. But they were glad to do it, Brennan said. It was very memorable, in more ways than one.

Brennan, who controlled the crowd near the Portland Police Memorial, noticed several Porta Potties set up in the middle of the memorial. Brennan had been at the site five days earlier for an annual memorial service and a flag was still set at half mast on the day of the rally.

There was plenty of room elsewhere so space wasn't an issue, Brennan said. So someone used some really poor decision making, whoever elected to put them there. I mean, it is somewhat hallowed ground, I guess you could call it.

You gotta be kidding me. I have been employed as an Event Planner for many Fortune 100 and 500 companies myself (e.g. for Insurance industries, specifically recently) over the yrs. and there is no way that any people putting on an event that has hired me and my people would just leave it all to to the wind without approving the final layout of everything before signing off on the work that was done in prepp'ing for a speech from a potential Presidential candidate in front of such a huge audience without making sure that (of all things) porta potties were not smack dab in the middle of a Memorial dedicated to Oregon fallen heroes with a flag set at half mast. That is where I for one draw the line. There is NO WAY that any Obama aides did not know that this was a disrespectful action. No way.

        • Posted By: Nins @ 06/26/2008 1:43:39 AM

The Portland Parks and Recreation Department has to approve the plans of events using the park. And the PPRD are the ones who held the fallen officer memorial the week before, so if there WAS any disrespect meant (and I doubt it) it would be the PPRD who is guilty.

          • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/26/2008 2:12:39 AM

But the campaign aides should have obviously objected to the location if they had a brain and if the park people didnt GET IT Obama and company should have at least apologized for the placement and tell them that it was the park peoples fault (LOL). But I would think before ANYTHING was placed ANYWHERE and talked about in pre-rally organization meetings that the Obama camp would never have known aboout the locaiton of everything that was positioned for public use during a rally. But we can just let it go cuz you and I have our different thoughts on this and we can agree to disagree.

Too bad we didn't have that Flag desecration amendment the Repubicans had been clamoring for, or he would have been guilty of a Federal crime. Barack Obama is saying that the Republicans are going to use tactics to make us voters very scared of him; where one of his comments is (when talking about HIMSELF ) is this:

He is young and inexperienced, and DID I MENTION HE IS BLACK ?

What is this man doing talking about FEAR related to RACE, when he is supposed to be a great Uniter. Here we go again. Obama stirring up things with the whole race talk saying HE KNOWS THOSE REPUBS will make you fear him cuz he is BLACK.

This guy is unreal: What is really ironic about this IS that many of the U.S. voters who did not vote for Obama in the primaries are ALEADY afraid of this guy. It does not take a GOP attack ad campaign to make them feel that way!

Excerpt of article on this below:

    June 20, 2008
Obama: 'They're Going to Try to Make You Afraid of Me'
    Posted: 08:04 PM ET
From CNN Political Producer Alexander Marquardt

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (CNN) Barack Obama told supporters that Republicans will try to make you afraid of me in remarks he made Friday at a Florida fundraiser.

"The choice is clear. Most of all we can choose between hope and fear. It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy.

We know what kind of campaign they are going to run, said the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. They are going to try to make you afraid. They are going to try to make you afraid of me. He is young and inexperienced and he s got a funny name. AND DID I MENTION HE is BLACK?"

In similar comments at a Chicago fundraiser last Thursday, Obama told supporters that Republicans would try to portray both him and his wife Michelle as "scary."

"They are going to try to make me into a scary guy, he said last week. They are even trying to make Michelle into a scary person. Right?" And so that drumbeat 'we are not sure if he is patriotic or not; we are not sure if he IS TOO BLACK.'

yet so far it has been the DEMOCRATS who have used the race card. Hillary's campaign was downright nasty towards him, yet everyone is now blaming the republicans? I love being neutral to party politics. It is amazing to watch the bullshit lies spread back and forth.... party politics is pretty much the downfall of our system... Everyone feels the have to support the party rather than the best person to represent America.

Sharenews, of course the GOP is going to try and make Americans afraid of Obama. That's standard operating procedure in the GOP. They have already started down the rosy path of Karl Rove with:

      Obama the Muslim
      Obama the Black Supremacist
Michelle the Black Supremacist (oh, and she's WAY too intelligent to be First Lady)
Obama the young, wet behind the ears Idealist
      Obama the Sexist
Obama the Elitist (oh, and he's WAY too intelligent to be President)
      Obama the Appeaser
      Obama the Communist
      Obama the Homosexual

All of these technicolor stink bombs have been thrown at Obama by the GOP already. I know you know this, because heck, let's be honest, Sharenews, you have been doing some of the throwing.

And you think it is somehow wrong for Obama to point this out? I think it is great that Obama is able to lampoon this crazy stuff, rather than get all upset about it.

      • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/21/2008 11:13:15 PM

Nins, Im not sure you got what I meant in my original post. I was specifically referring to Obama throwing out the race card in his speech as we go out the gate into the race to the G.E. Everyone knows how sensitive the whole race thing was in the primaries, as well as the Obama camps objections to all of the descriptions/characteristics about him (which you list above) that were portrayed in many 527 ads, videos, etc. with more to come on both sides of this race I am sure. But to come out with the words below, like he was some Joe Some, rather than the dem. Nominee that he is just didn???t hit me right:

It is not only how he went out of his way to say this, but it was the way he said it; it almost sounds cocky, or dare I say elitist: .

        Obama talking about himself:

. . . And did I mention he is BLACK?

. . . And we are not sure if he is TOO BLACK?

Yes, that is most disturbing but the way I have been treated by some Obama supporters during the primaries when I was a Hillary supporter I was being called a racist all the time. Mainly (my opinion) because I tried to provide half way intelligent responses to Obama supporters dissing Hillary with supporting info contradicting what they said about her, e.g. gave them links to confirm). Instead of some of these famous Obama supporter bloggers answering my challenge about their candidate many times I got empty mean messages calling me a racist, names, instead of responding back with supporting info about their candidate Obama. It has been very frustrating, but to hear now that Hillary supporters as the one who spoke in that video are getting threatened I am not surprised. But for all intent and purposes, let me say that I am not talking about ALL obama supporters. Ive had many challenging but respectful dialogs with Nins and Pia that are Obama supporters who also go out of their way to try to produce non mean responses, non name calling like some of those out there. And there are many others who are great to converse with that are Obama supporters too. But I did feel very ALONE at times when I was blogging on this site during the 5 mos of the primaries to say the least. But I hung in there. : - )

Sharenews, I'm glad you feel this way about some Obama supporters. I appreciate that from you and I also apologize for my recent outbursts of temperament.

I'm also here to say thanks, Sharenews. I do enjoy having Clinton and McCain supporters around who can raise real issues, and I want to be talking to people who I can bounce ideas with rather than fending off hatchet jobs. So thanks for your words of support, I really appreciate it. I can see how you are thinking your way through this difficult elections season, and that is beautiful to see. The fact that you are actually thinking it out instead of just having a knee jerk response makes me respect you.

And Pia, it's OK. The moon was full and it was hot as blazes in NJ. You got a little hot under the collar. And it's not like no one was trying to needle you. I'm really glad that you are back to your wonderful self.

It went both ways - there were Hillary supporters who called me sexist. It is what it is. The reality is, some of the people of this blog are racist, as there are some who are sexist. When they show their true colors, they should get hammered - by all sides. And when people jump to label when it is not appropriate, the same thing should happen. But in the end, you've gotta have thick skin on these blogs.

              • Posted By: sharenews @ 06/22/2008 11:04:36 PM

You got that right. Mega thick skin you had to have to get through those primaries and probably Rhino skin to make it in these blogs up to the GE. It should be an interesting summer, for sure.

I wouldnt doubt that there were some Hillary supporters that called you sexist when it was inapproriate. It definitely has worked both ways and probably wont chg much from now until Nov. :)

Obama supporters using the racist label started during the Dem Primary. I guess they just can't get enough of it, makes them feel good.
I agree not all Obama people do it, but enough to spoil the whole movement for me. Kool Aid and racism just don't sit well in my stomach.

Not this sad video again. This is the woman who is actively organizing to prevent the decendents of Sally Hemings (the slave that Thomas Jefferson had children with) from attending the decendents of Thomas Jefferson reunion. No one specifically called her a racist, but they did point out the coincidence. She reached the conclusion that they were calling her racist. Maybe that's because she is?

Obviously, you disagree, and think it is somehow wrong for Obama to refer to it in such an offhand manner.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree, Sharenews.

Hard to fix??? This is hypocrisy at its best. Bottom line we have a choice between 2 candidates. One that wants to change what Bush has destroyed and the other has sided with Bush 93% of the time.
How would McCaint fix what he helped create?

    • Posted By: frjiles1 @ 06/22/2008 3:59:13 PM

Very good point and good question. However, I will argue that ALL of congress INCLUDING BOTH candidates helped to created this mess (inlcuding my candidate Hillary)!

Also, the Democratic Party has been the majority since 2006 and it appears to me that things have only gotten worse since they have been in the majority!

While many want to link McCain to Bush, I would argue that Obama sounds a lot like Jimmy Carter and we all know that his presidency was a failed one as well!

This election is going to be about who do we trust more. The man who brings absolutely nothing but rhetoric to the table, who's own rhetoric can't be trusted because he consistently does the opposite of what he says. Or a man who is VERY flawed and as of late, has been flip flopping and pandering as well BUT at least have a record and some political accomplishments and have fought and almost died for the love his country?.

This race has been full of surprises perhaps, and yes I know it is a long shot, Clinton or someone else may jump into the race before it is all over! I know Clinton is VERY flawed as well but she is a true fighter with a REAL record of accomplishments. Many of her accomplishments are even more credible because she had to fight hard to achieve much of what she has as we all know in many cases there were many that were working against her as she fought on for her causes!! Also, at least she and her husband have PROVEN EXPERIENCE AND SUCCESS in turning around a bad economy! I am going to borrow one of Obama's line, HOPE and CHANGE! I am HOPING by the convention that the DNC realize that they can not win with Obama and CHANGE their mind. I know that is wishful thinking but this race has shown that any and everything is possible!

      • Posted By: nopartyaffiliation123 @ 06/22/2008 4:40:58 PM

frjiles, believe, no matter who has the majority in Congress doesn't matter much if the President is vetoing every bill that the Democrat want to pass. One of the main reason our economy is in trouble is because we have spent over 600 billions dollars in Iraq, money largely borrowed (thus the weak dollar). Had that money been spent in the local economy (and infrastructure to prevent disasters like flooding in the midwest), this country would be in a prosperity, not recession.

        • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 06/22/2008 8:42:00 PM

I got no problem there.. my only question is why was Ron Paul the only one advocating pull all of our military. You know how much money are we wasting in Germany, Japan, Korea, etc.... why only Iraq?

          • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/27/2008 12:04:54 AM

because the others (like them or not) are at least intelligent to know that this action would create a vacuum where an even worse dictator would step in and things would be even worse for all of the world. How long did it take the US to stabalize after the revolution? Wasn't over night like some of you would suggest should happen in Iraq.

        • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/23/2008 10:08:36 AM

But, the vetos aren't about the actual issues. The vetos come when these same liberal left wing congressmen/women add all the extra pork inside a bill because they know that the "extra" would never be approved of anyway. This is a vicious circle. They cry that the President is vetoing their attempt to "help us" while failing to mention the "entire" reason for a veto. Also seems like if he vetos it they cry fould, while at the same time ram rodding ideas put forth to them that actually would help. Congress is a corrupt and misleading animal. The main reason our economy is in trouble pretty much stems because of the idiots we vote into these congressional positions. If congress would quit spending our money like it grows on trees for their special interest projects, and would allow us to drill for oil, manufacture our own energy needs, etc... this country would be in prosperity

          • Posted By: Driver of wagons @ 06/24/2008 5:44:34 PM

Republicans in the U.S. Congress, trying to appear frugal with taxpayer dollars this election year, found on Wednesday that some in their own ranks topped a list of "pork" spenders in a watchdog group's analysis of government waste.

The annual survey by Citizens Against Government Waste claims that 11,610 special-interest projects were stuffed into spending bills approved by the Democratic-led Congress last year at a $17.2 billion cost to taxpayers.

But according to the survey, it was individual Republicans who pushed the most "pork" last year. In addition, the three House of Representative Republicans who sponsored legislation calling for a moratorium on such spending all engaged in the practice, the report said. They are Jack Kingston of Georgia, Zach Wamp of Tennessee and Frank Wolf of Virginia.

Well hell you just proved an earlier point! The system is screwed up. Perhaps they can have one issue one vote rather than adding crap in. Then no one can distort the truth and try to manipulate how they look. Of course that would mean that a great deal of special interest pork would NEVER pass, so I guess our elected officials wouldn't want to do that now would they. Ane we the people just can't seem to come together to hold their feet to the fire. They are public servants. They are suppost to represent us - not a special interest. Regarless of our conservative or liberal view of life, we as a people need to come together and DEMAND they represent us of vote them the hell out of office and get rid of their excessive pensions for a simply short period of work. After all, aren't they saying oil companies are making an excessive amout? maybe we should focus on our elected officials as well. What they spend and what benefits they receive is beyond excessive.

The Many "Quotes" of Barack Obama

"I don't think my church is particularly controversial."

Rev. Wright is "like an old uncle who sometimes says things I don't agree with."

"The emotion between the races could never be pure..... the other race would always remain just that: menacing, alien, and apart."

"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites"

"never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself..".

"I am not in favor of concealed weapons. I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."

"The person who made me proudest of all, though, was [half brother] Roy .. He converted to Islam."

"...I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

"I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator."

"I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It should be repealed and I will vote for its repeal on the Senate floor. I will also oppose any proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying."

"You know, my faith is one that admits some doubt."

You're an idiot, and shouldn't be allowed to vote AT ALL! Everything you're posting has already been posted by some other racist morons. Is that all you got?
If Obama doesn't win, Ill be happy for him. Who would want to represent a country full of asses like you?
He's not kissing your white ass, so he must be bad for the country, right?
McCain is just another bush--older, but just as stupid. Got to where he is because of his father. Has shown no concern during his entire career for no Americans who aren't white.

      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 06/27/2008 12:01:55 AM

Raven, why do you even comment? You are a blatant racist as is evident in all your posts. You try to call racism where racism doesn't exist. Your whole theory behind supporting Obama is due to the fact that he is black. If that isn't a racist view, plese tell us what is. I don't care what color the candidate is - it is the policies, the man or woman - not the skin color. This man's ideas of a perfect US is one in which government controls us. You can go to another country and become a citizen if that is what you want. But why try to force it down the rest of our throats? ... yes I know, according to you I am a racist because I don't support him.
