I wish I could read one article without some idiot PUMA defacing it. Vote for whoever you want to. I don't care. Just stop trying to inject yourself into every discussion on the internet with your moronic diatribes and let everyone have intelligent conversations.

McCain, Clinton and Obama all have a ton of absences because they have spent so much of the year campaigning. Frankly, I think they should make it a law that you cannot campaign while holding an elected position. It is disgusting that our tax dollars pay these people and they are not doing their jobs. But, then again the job being done by congress isn't all that inspiring so maybe they should all be campaigning full time.

He has lots of absences, and so does McCain, and your point is what?

Very few people have thought he could do any of the things he has done so far: beat Hillary in the Iowa primary, raise millions in campaign funds using an Internet model, create a top-notch campaign organization from scratch and run it like a CEO for a 17-month marathon, write a riveting book about patriotism and politics, and mobilize millions of new voters who had previously been disenchanted and sidelined by the old political process. I say he probably has a plan for Washington, too, so l'm willing to see what happens next.

It's very diificult to change things once you've accepted them as they are (McCain in DC). I think one of the attractions to Obama is the fact that he isn't embedded in Washington too far. He can therefore attempt change and be taken seriously. I thought this article was a little shallow, and had a very trite ending.

This article did seem very strange and not well researched.

"This is the stuff that people like about the Obamas???their insistence on maintaining something approximating "normal." From the start of their presidential campaign, the Democratic nominee and his wife have been at pains to show they view the capital as a strange and foreign place. They aren't the only ones. The Obamas are part of new generation of political couples that doesn't assume election to the Senate means a new life in Washington."

The McCains have done the exact same thing since the 80's. Cindy and the kids live in AZ, and John comes home to visit on weekends. It's not exactly a "new generation" thing. I bet if the reporter had done more research, they'd find it's very common for families to stay in the home state.

NO! Obama can not fix Washington and have no intentions of fixing it! He is utilizing the same old Washington style politics and so is McCain! The more I see both of them campaign, the more I miss Clinton! Obama NOR McCain seems like they have a clue! I already know for a fact that I WILL NOT vote for Obama. McCain is still a maybe but right now Nader and even Barr is looking better than both of the main contenders!

Obama is nothing but a con artist with no experience and McCain is looking like a flip flopping pandering fool (paraphrasing what Lou Dobbs called McCain)! These two main contenders are an insult to the American people! Millions are already against Obama and are already expressing that they will not support him or the DNC. Obama's fund raising report for May is showing an indication of that. However, if McCain don't hurry up and get on track and STOP pandering and flip flopping, he is going to turn many voters away from him as well!

This presidential election is becoming a disgrace!
