Comment: I resent the last line in the film: i was a loser/nobody/fill-in-the-blank "just like you--what have you done today?"
as if the character Wesley actually accomplished something meaningful in the film.
Does the director know the audience so well as to know what they do for the world on a daily basis?
Violence, murder, aversion and and aggression are not virtues but rather hindrances in the mind.
The ability to relax the mind enough to do extraordinary things does not come from a place of horror.
It comes from a place of holiness, humility, love and practice.
This movie is a banal creation coming from a place of utter destruction and lack of humanity.

Comment: This might seem crazy..but I have the gift to sometimes read news from the future. I will just surf the web and everything will look a little strange and then I will realise that it's a future date. I always think there's something wrong with the page or that it's a copycat but then it turns out to be true , when I read it again years later.

Anyway, I know a few things about Angelina Jolie. I was convinced that her twins will be a boy and a girl.
She will move to the Western Sahara when she gets older, after the twins are grown I think. I saw pictures of an old widowed Angelina Jolie. She had wrinkles, grey, short, curly hair, and I think she lived in Africa. I'm not sure but there was mosquito netting on her door. She will live several years with her husband, until he passes in an illness which had a name i was unfamiliar with. The reason why Jolie will move to Western Sahara is because she is bothered by paparazzi in the States. In the Western Sahara the media is very controlled and as a reporter you have to get a special permit to enter the country. It said in the article that it was not sure if the twins would follow her to Africa. I guess that this will happen (if it happens) in several years.

Comment: Not even Angelinas full and pouty lips can save this film.

A testament as to why Hollywood should fire 98% of the special FX gurus and try making films that can hold there own with a story line.

I went expecting fantasy and action, but this movie "bends" itself into the realm of mindless stupidity.

Comment: " Here's a movie that offers mass murder as a cure for the 9-to-5 blues. Is that Russian, or what? "
Man, is THIS arrogant American bullshit or what ?

You sir, just made me want to watch the movie.

Isn't your country the land of the workplace shootings?

Comment: Sounds like a fair critique of a Matrix rip-off styled to further Jolie's dream of being seen as an action hero. Neither she nor McAvoy are credible as "bad a**es", but McAvoy is likeable. Adrenalin junkies will like the hooks used to suck the audience in.

Comment: Really? The best criticisms you can dig up on a movie advertised to be about assassins and relentless action violence is that it isn't a love story and that the action is too relentless? Man, that sounds like the perfect man's movie for a hot Friday evening. Don't worry, though, Mrs. Ansen, I'm sure Sex and the City and What Happens in Vegas has plenty of that romance you desire.

Comment: Mr. Ansen's reviews have long been as much, if not more, portentous than "Wanted." After years of reading his reviews, I've decided that his opinion is un-wanted and not worth my time. His thoughts and opinions on current cinema are out of date and irrelevant to today's moviegoers. Mr. Ansen, please retire. It's time.

Comment: As mentioned, this is a comic book movie. Wanted is an over-the-top mini series by Mark Millar & J.G. Jones for Top Cow Comics. It's basically a super villain answer to Watchmen. The movie strips out the super villain aspect & a few other things, but the basic story is still Millar's. Saying this movie sucks because of a lack of romance is like saying Ghost sucks because there are no car chase shootout scenes. If you are a fan of action movies, you'll love this film.

Comment: I think all Mr. Ansen is implying is that the film lacks a romantic plotline, which is indeed heavily hinted at in the trailers. He isn't harping on the film's worth because it is a summer blockbuster or escapist fare. In fact, he seems to be suggesting that the film (what with all of its A-list talent) should have and could have been more than it is.

Comment: It's a comic-based gun movie made by a sci-fi epic russian. And you expected Dr. Zhivago? Are you a real critic or do you play one on TV. Your critics remind me of Homer as a food critic on the Simpsons. People go to movies to escape and have a good romp for their money. People who go to this money what guns, and over the top action. A love story? Get real bub.
