I firmly believe, that there are people out there who do not believe, for one nano second, that African Americans can be patriotic. That's simply not true. I'm VERY patriotic and I'm black and have been all my life. *LOL* I haven't been to a church that spouts stuff like Wright did but I DO belong to a church where the pastor doesn't believe that women should be in the pulpit and that doesn't want whites in his church. Does that mean that I believe in those two things? Yeah, no. I'm a woman first off and that's a load of crap if I've never heard one and I can't believe that someone would preach love and tolerance and then act like that. It's two faced. I haven't been to the church in several years (military) but while I was there I was there and I didn't just leave because of it.

That sounds like Obama's wife. Trying to "change" her image! LOL

Wow..I'm not trying to change my image. I am who I am and I will be who I've always been.

Sounds to me like the US Senators don't really DO any work at all but run around all day doing PA crap. No wonder nothing gets done up there. They, of course, have/make the time to give themselves a raise and then break out. *LOL* Anyone ever watch CSPAN and you see over 1/2 of the chairs EMPTY with one lone person talking to a bunch of empty seats and about 10 (and I'm being generous here) people shuffling papers, looking bored as h e l l and others (pages I'm assuming) running around making it look like their doing something? It's tragic. THAT'S why they say Congress doesn't do anything. Take a look. CSPAN is always on.

Now in the STATE legislature, they have to do work. Doesn't matter whether it's for a small constituentcy or not. From what the article says and from what I've seen, the senators do their own leg work and have to cross party lines.

It sounds like to me that Sen. Obama wants THAT type of partisan work done on a larger scale. I wish him luck because hatred is so deeply entrenched in DC that that's probably a reason why nothing ever gets done up there.

Is it going to take another 911 to make you realize why the terrorist countries hate America. There is no peace in this world. It's called survival of the fittest and OBAMA would be a weak president that would be vulnerable and exposed by Iran, Venezuela, Russia, and other Anti American countries.

      • Posted By: Iamnotamused @ 06/23/2008 1:35:29 PM

Oh yeah? Well seeing as how no one has answered my question as to why they hate us in the first place then your post is moot. I think that other countries hate the US because we are a bunch of arrogant, lying SOB's (and I love this country, but I have also lived abroad for several years). WE (yes the US and ALL of her citizens) insist on invading soverign nations for oil (Iraq) and not allowing them to fight their own battles (Afghanastan) and then we "create" these monsters (Saddam, Ayah Tollah, etc.) thinking we can control them and then we arm them tooth and nail and then have to turn around and fight them to get them out because they no longer can be controlled. This would be a good reason to hate Americans.

We shove our religious and "morals" down other countries throats and expect them to smile and love every spoonful without question. Heck, we do that to our own citizens (Republicans who are IMHO, are THE absolute most immoral bunch of hooligans in this country) and look at our stance in the world now.

It's not safe to travel overseas anymore because we are so hated.

You can say all you want about "another 9/11" but last time I checked, it happened on that idiots watch so it's HIS fault. He can't blame this on anyone else BUT himself. He had been in office going on his second year when it happened. Had it happened his first year in office THEN he might be able to blame someone else but he can't. That's why he's going to go down as the absolute worst president in the 400+ year history of this country. HE lied to Congress about WOMD in Iraq to take the focus off of Osama Bin Laden. Go back and look at the news casts after 9/11 and all you hear is Bin Laden this Bin Laden that and then all of a sudden he disappears off the radar and the focus shifts to Saddam. WTH??? We STILL haven't caught Bin Laden yet! What happened to him? And WHY exactly, did the US government turn over the hunt and capture of him to the Afghan people? Tell me why on God's Green (well darn near dead planet at the rate we are killing her) Earth would THEY actually help us find him when THEY are the ones that allowed him to STAY in their country when he was exciled from Saudi Arabia???

What you and all your other sheep need to do is (1) pull your heads out of your butts (or Bush's where ever you have it shoved at) and get some fresh air. I know it's dank and dark in there; (2) find out WHY all these people hate us in the first place because I'm sure it's something so simple and absolutely moronic it boggles the mine and that's if anyone can even remember WHY; (3) take a look at Hot head McCain and think "do you REALLY want someone with a short temper with their finger on that red button at 3 a.m.?" I mean it is scary enough that Dumbya has HIS on it and has for the last 8 yrs. but let's just all hope HE'S too dumb to know what it is and doesn't let his curiosity get the better of him and push it before he leaves office; (3) While not taking anything away from McCain's military record, but let's face it, he is an idiot too. He only got as far as he did because of HIS father, crashed 3 planes (at the tune of MILLIONS of TAX PAYERS dollars) before he was shot down and captured then sang like a bird; (4) he does more flip flopping than a pair of flip flops on a centapede! One year he's for this the next he's not; and finally (5) do you honestly think you can live another 4 yrs with our country in the shape that it's in right now if we don't do something to reverse the effects of dip sh!t????

            Excellent post.
Think about it. GW has the most experience of anyone right now. His intel is up-to-date and accurate. His military advisers are capable and the most trained in this era - or any era. Yet he didn't listen. He was angry.

            Mc is angry.

Angry = Will not listen to anyone but own self in angered state = Not clear on right and wrong.
            And really. The Afgan's?

Yes, they turned over the "hunt" for Bin Laden to the Afghan people. How dumb is THAT? They aren't looking too hard for him because he's still releasing tapes and still hasn't been caught. I'd pay someone to tell me that they don't know EXACTLY where he is and just don't give a crap.

They harbored him since his exile from Saudi Arabia. During the Afghan war with the Soviet Union, our country armed Bin Laden and trained his "army" to fight against communists. Then look what happened? He bit the hand the fed him. This is what I'm talking about but see, shhh no one is supposed to know that we actually created Bin Laden, armed him, trained him and helped him dig those caves in the mountains of Afghanastan that we can't "find" him in. Shhhh it's a secret.

Maybe John McCain can offer up 300 mill, like he wants to do for the electric car!
I'd run over there myself to take part in the hunt.

They trained the guy in CA.

And OBAMA wants to have Dialogue with Osama if they find him???? The great negotiator! And we want him for Pres???? NOT!

    • Posted By: Iamnotamused @ 06/23/2008 2:50:59 PM

Hmm, where did you hear that he wanted to negotiate or have dialogue with him from? If I remember correctly, he said that when/if he is captured he would not want to turn him into a marytr of any kind. So get your facts straight.

As for your other posts, only black people that YOU know are voting for him based on his race. I could care less what his color is. I'm black too but I'm voting for him because of his stance on the issues that matter to me, period. I guess you could call me one of those educated (MBA), latte sipping people (but I don't do Star Bucks, too expensive so I make my own in my espresso machine at home) who are voting for him.

  • Posted By: josemarti @ 06/23/2008 11:04:55 AM

Good article. Experience is a slippery commodity to measure. We should instead focus on Who is Obama? What are his values? Where are his roots? Who has influced him? Who has his ear now? What has he accomplished?

    • Posted By: bdhotwheel @ 06/23/2008 1:11:25 PM

OBAMA is a wolf in sheeps clothing. How can a president "negotiate" with terrorists or countries that support terrorism. Does this guy actually expect Iran to let him in their country and "talk peace". These countries want to chop American's heads off .They think we are the devil. You Obama lovers are blind to the real news in this world and will reap what you sow if he becomes president!

      • Posted By: Iamnotamused @ 06/23/2008 2:44:59 PM

Who said anything about negotiating? That was YOUR word. He said talk to them.

As a CHRISTIAN when you know that someone doesn't like you and you can't for the life of you figure out why they don't like you, the CHRISTIAN thing to do is to ask them. You aren't giving them anything and you aren't taking anything from them, you're just asking them. If finding out why we are so hated is such a bad thing, then let's all be bad. You have to know what you're fighting against first before you can effectively defeat it.

  • Posted By: Debunked @ 06/23/2008 12:26:38 PM

    Newsweek!

Are you going to do an article revealing that Obama and McCain rasied about the same amount in May? Had Obama raised significantly more than McCain, that would have been on the front page.
Perhaps Obama will get a boost if Clinton donors give to him. There are many groups working hard to convince these donors not to donate to Obama. It may or may not work, who knows!

However, I still say that the fact that McCain matched Obama in May is very telling. Now I see why Obama injected that the GOP will play the race card at a fundraiser and why Al Gore asked for donations!

    • Posted By: summer1216 @ 06/23/2008 2:09:29 PM

Newsweek HAS done an article about Obama and McCain raising about the same amount in May. That`s where I heard about it.

    • Posted By: josemarti @ 06/23/2008 12:30:02 PM

debunked. Do you know who has been most effectively combating Obama's use of the race card?

      • Posted By: Debunked @ 06/23/2008 12:41:19 PM

No one has been really effective at combating it--------yet! It is going to take some GOP and 527 ads speaking truthfully yet forcefully about the subject for the pundits to even have an honest conversation about it and examine it. OR it will take a fair minded respectable democrat to speak on it (not holding my breath for that one)OR a respectable highly thought of Rebublican to speak passionately and truthfully about it.

Once it is brought to MSM, the pundits will have no choice but the talk about it and then the writers will do articles about it on the internet and in magazines. Then you and I will be on a blog debating the issue! =-) Everything is all a matter of perfect timing. Perfect timing will be right after Obama is officially named the nominee.

        • Posted By: Alvy @ 06/23/2008 1:45:29 PM

Hey crazy lady! How goes it?
Hey dummy, is writing that you will not vote for a man because of his middle name, or maybe writing that you hope they find something bad, qualify you as someone who should have any input into the race-bait question?

          Like there is one.
Poor stupid Lisa. Hills started the race-baiting as a last resort - and that's optimistic - when she figured it couldn't hurt her anymore than what she's already done to herself. The pundits and media called it her 'kitchen sink'.
Now, go find your husband. Use a 3000 mile perimeter.

Thanks for the article. It helps to know that some people are still able and willing to seperate between the sheeps. This article should do well to inform those people who are bent on deciding this race solely on experience. And to them I say wouldn't you wanna change course if having tried something for eight years it still doesn't work? Additionally, they should all be reminded that if the current administration is what experience gets you - George Bush was a two-term former governor - then out with experience, and in with CHANGE!

    • Posted By: Richard1327 @ 06/23/2008 2:00:42 PM

Hindsight does not work in this case. No one got tricked into voting for GW Bush. Anyone with a brain larger than a dried pea knew George Bush was the anti-christ and did not vote for him. The majorty of votes went to Gore and so did Florida after all was said and done. This leaves two conclusions- almost 50% of the USA population have brains the size of a dried out pea and the Supreme Court interferrred with a national election.

The Many "Quotes" of Barack Obama

"I don't think my church is particularly controversial."

Rev. Wright is "like an old uncle who sometimes says things I don't agree with."

"The emotion between the races could never be pure..... the other race would always remain just that: menacing, alien, and apart."

"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites"

"never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself..".

"I am not in favor of concealed weapons. I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."

"The person who made me proudest of all, though, was [half brother] Roy .. He converted to Islam."

"...I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

"I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator."

"I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It should be repealed and I will vote for its repeal on the Senate floor. I will also oppose any proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying."

"You know, my faith is one that admits some doubt."

    • Posted By: summer1216 @ 06/23/2008 2:03:34 PM

Again, you need to cite your sources. No one believes uncited sources. I recognize a few from his books, and they are taken out of context. For instance, he does not continue to be shy about mentioning his mother`s race. That was a stage of the teenager Obama, and he later moves past it (if you read the whole book). He has written a very honest and moving story of his search for identity, and it shows him as a person of intelligence and character.

Then what's the plan? OBAMA hasn't said how he's going to get the country out of the rut and exterminate terrorists. It's all about the feel good moment. What have you done for me lately? I'd rather not vote with the two candidates we have. America's in a pretty cr'appy spot here. Where are all the smart polititians?

FlaLady: I can tell that you are angry. Remember that the Clintonites responded to Obama with anger and derision. See where that got them. If Republicans are viewed as "bitter, gun toting and Bible clinging" then McCain will loose.

Police officers in Portland, Oregon, are still waiting for an apology from Barack Obama after campaign staffers of his recent rally in Portland, Oregon, setup porta potties directly on top of the Portland Police Memorial, which honors the agency???s 25 fallen police officers.

The Obama rally drew a crowd of over 75,000 people.

Officer Thomas Brennan, who was working overtime at the rally, took a picture of the offending toilets, with the American flag still at half mast because of Police Officers Memorial Day, directly behind them. The local law enforcement memorial service had been held at the site only five days earlier.

Despite a large amount of open areas in the vicinity, the campaign staffers claimed the toilets were placed on the memorial for safety reasons to accommodate wheelchair access.

At a time when Law Enforcement Officers are losing their lives in the line of duty on a daily basis, the Obama campaign shows NO SYMPATHY! Barack is ANTI LAW ENFORCEMENT! That is proven in his voting record. He votes for laws to protect the criminal more than for the police officer or law abiding citizen! The Obama campaign has not responded to requests for an apology.

    • Posted By: Iamnotamused @ 06/23/2008 1:46:09 PM

Hmm, so his campaign was out there setting up port-a-potties??? I think that was the city's fault on that one. You're just grasping at straws. You weren't going to vote for him anyway so all this crap you're posting is just more fuel for YOUR fire showing why you weren't "going to vote for him in the first place".

I will say this...if those toilets were REALLY put on top of a memorial site then SHAME ON THE CITY for that one but don't blame Obama or his campaign for that one.

As far as a future President, the only one with experience, integrity, loved by everyone around the world, there
is no one like Hillary Clinton; of all the candidates she is the only one capable of bringing this country out of the horrendous hole it is in.

Thank you for this article. Ihave always considered Obama experienced, but I had studied his Illinois voting record pretty carefully. He was involved in voting on and sponsoring siginificant legislation in Illinois, and his voting record there was positive. I assumed he learned a lot during his tenure there. He has taken this experience and done many other significant and exciting things, including running this top-notch come-from-behind campaign, and written an impressive book. He has created a new fund-raising model that will be emulated in years to come. He has all the experience he needs to move on to his next job.

The most convoluted spin I have ever read in support of a candidate. Is this April 1'st? Can Mr. Ehrenhalt be pulling our leg to see if we are either not paying attention or brain dead?

What a blatantly partisan attack on Senator McCain's service to the Senate. JFK served 13 years in the Congress before he was sworn in. And he was considered a neophyte.

I am guessing the next article by Alan will be entitled "No Really, the Sky is Purple!".

    ANOTHER GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

    From Rasmussen's Daily:

"Currently, Obama and McCain are essentially even among men while Obama leads by 12% among women. McCain leads 49% to 42% among White Voters but trails 93% to 3% among African-American voters. Among voters who see economic issues as most important this year, Obama leads 59% to 32%."

"The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows Obama leading in states with 200 Electoral College votes while McCain leads in states with 174 votes. When leaners are included, it???s Obama 284, McCain 240. "

Stay tuned for the Gallup Poll Update....

I get it, you like the guy. But really, how did he do when he was getting all this experience in Ill? How did the Ill Navy do? How was his Secretary of State over seas? Maybe he can put a Justice of the Peace in Ill on the Supreme Court, they work with the law. My main concern with Senator Obama was he apparently was right on the War in Iraq when the entire world was wrong. My concern is, what, if anything would make this guy go to war? We alread have a toothless group that gives great speeches and does nothing, that would be the UN. Maybe he plays poker like he bowls, maybe he is the greatest guy to come along, ever. You sure can't get that from being a non-governor state official.
